“She Who Became Their Sun”
A/N: this is purely based on an idea I had one night laying in bed because I’m a total sucker for inserts that include of an already beloved family/and where the reader is a badass HEHE there might be more to this, we’ll see. Other than that, enjoy this little blurb :P
slow burn, eventual polyamorous relationship, lots of feeling involved, some sort of twist within the story (?)
➽─────────────────────❥
Living as a mage in Piltover was a life filled with suspicion and distrust. Being said mage as a member of high society was something considered as… blasphemous. But being all things considered, and the right hand woman to the counselor and founder of the city was… certainly unheard of, and occasionally sparked up conversations both positive or negative. There was no in between in those conversations. However, they did not phase you in the slightest. And neither did it your mother and father. You were (Y/N), of house Kiramman. Daughter to Katherine Kiramman and an Ionian mage named Argon Khal. Being apart of such a wealthy and influential family, you would think you were to be raised to be a snobbish blue blood that didn’t care about anything but living lavish, but that was not the case in your upbringing. Your mother was a lawyer, a highly respected one at that. She was beautiful too. An epitome of grace but with the ferocity of a wolf. In the portraits of the Kiramman estate, in her youth, she looked, well rather, you looked a lot like her. She had long wavy dark hair that cascaded elegantly down her shoulders, fair porcelain like skin, and sapphire blue eyes. You were too young to have known your parents. They were pronounced dead when their ship didn’t arrive on Ionia’s shores and since then, it’s remained a mystery on how they died.
Mages were exceptionally talented, and at a young age, you had shown such exceptionality and promise. Such promise was recognized by the teachers at your school, tutors and eventually scholars at the Academy. Later along the line of your academic career, you were personally taught by the best of the best, Professor Heimerdinger and became his right hand woman in both academic, political and educational standing after graduation. Being as your mother was a lawyer and a well respected figure amongst her peers, your mother and Heimerdinger worked closely when it came to trials that were held by the councilors of the city.
You were currently sitting in the counselors chamber going over paperwork. You had an official office within the tower and at the academy, but opted to do office and academy paperwork in the chamber as it was quiet, and rarely people or even your students could bother you. Said quiet was interrupted as an enforcer opened the large doors and made his way over to you, handing in new pieces of paper. You quietly thanked him and your eyes scanned over the report. It was a case hearing that was to take place within the next few days. Jayce Talis. Your brows furrowed as your tried to remember where you’ve heard that last name before.
Ah, Talis. Now you remembered his surname. ‘This must be the son of Ximena’, you thought. You’ve met with her in passing as the two of you would go to the same coffee shop near the Academy. She struck up a conversation with you one day as she overheard you conversing with the barista about mid terms and having to grade a bunch of your students work and personal projects. She commented on how young you were to be a professor before you had to swiftly correct her that, assuring her you were simply a teacher assistant. The two of you got to talking and would often meet up to talk story. She would talk about her son often and how proud of him she was for him, and you would talk about how
Looking over the report some more, your eyes caught the scribbled words of the words in quotation marks, “making magic”. You raised an eyebrow to that statement and signed off on the report, you body thrumming with excitement over what the council was going to make of this trial.
⎯
As the ceiling and the windows of the counselors chamber closed, the accused made his way to the middle of the circular table. Eyes watched his, observed him. The eyes of his mother, the eyes of his benefactor, the eyes of the assistant, the eyes of the counselors and everyone that was there to bare witness to the person seemingly responsible for the explosion that occurred at the dorms. “Jayce Talis” a familiar voice called out from the darkness. The darkness was then replaced with a singular spotlight on his figure. “You are accused of illegal experimentation and endangering the citizen’s of Piltover, what do you have to say for yourself?” the voice of Cassandra Kiramman asked. The counselors observed the man, the silence of the chamber seemingly overwhelming. Jayce hesitated for a moment, thinking of the right words to say. “The materials were far more dangerous than I was aware of and I-I now know my actions were against academy regulations. What I did endangered people. It was reckless, and for that I’m sorry. I ask for the councils forgiveness and I hope that I can continue my studies”. His words resonated through the chamber, but you couldn’t help but feel there was a hidden message behind his words. They didn’t feel sincere as he was trying to make it seem.
“As Jayce’s patron of many years I can speak for his character. I believe that one day he will be a great contributor to our society” Cassandra spoke out. Another councilor scoffed, “He destroyed a building. Is this the sort of contribution we can expect?” Counselor Tormin asked. “If you were a scientist you’d know you can’t make a prototype without breaking a few wrenches” Heimerdinger contributed while letting out a chuckle. You couldn’t help but let a small smile escape at his antics. Although you worked closely with Herimdinger, you rarely spoke freely when trials like these took place. No matter how problematic. However, the subject of the matter seemed to resonate with you personally and you brought up your concerns to Heimerdinger just hours before the trial began.
“Do you have anything to show for your work besides an explosion” Mel questioned. Jayce shifted. “Uh, no. it came to nothing” he answered, his gaze cast downwards. Mel followed up with another question that sounded more like a statement if anything. “So you’re saying your study was meaningless?”. Jayce looked up, his face looking more determined. “It was revolutionary”.
“Revolutionary how? All I see is a boy meddling with things he doesn't understand”
Harsh Mel, you thought. At her off handed comment, the counselors started to speak up.
“The academy seems to have loosened its standards”
“This is a fine line. If we condone this what’s next? The council has more important-”
Their voices seemed to blend together. Jayce’s eyes were closed as he tried to focus on what to say next.
“I was trying to create magic”
There was that word again. Magic. Collective gasps echoed around the room. “Arcane talents are something you’re born with. They can’t be… fabricated. Take Lady Kiramman for example”. Counselor Shoola noted. Jayce hadn’t noticed you standing by Heimerdinger's side but as he met your eyes he couldn’t help but stare. Although the light was dim, he could still make out your appearance. What caught his eye about you was your bare arms that had runic tattoos running from the top of your hands, up your arms and disappeared behind the rolled up sleeves of your dress shirt. You stepped from behind Heimer's chair and another spotlight shined on you. “As Counselor Shoola makes a point about Arcanist talents, has anyone here tried creating a point of where magic can be used by someone without those said talents?” you asked, looking around the table. Some of them were shocked at the question you posed while others held a neutral facial expression.
Only one counselor spoke out. “The arcane is the curse of our world. My race was nearly destroyed by it” Counselor Bolbok spoke in a manner of fact tone. You frowned at his statement but could not argue that mages that were corrupted only used the Arcane to do bad upon the world. Amongst your studies, you learned of the cataclysm that almost destroyed the world and Heimerdinger recalled the same event as he was there in person to experience said event. “Then I propose that Jayce’s studies be continued under a watchful eye. Although the events that happened at the dorms were a mere accident, perhaps someone who can stop any future accidents of that magnitude from happening again should be entrusted by someone who wields such power. I offer my services and will take full responsibility for whatever might happen.” hushed murmurs resounded the room and the counselors, besides your Aunt and Heimerdinger, broke out out in voices of disagreement or hesitancy. Jayce looked at you in shock. Relief. And perhaps gratitude?
“And to ensure further safety measures, I would like to extend this task to Professor Heimerdinger's Assistant, Viktor, to be his partner in Mr.Talis’ work” You announced.
Viktor’s head snapped up to look at you in shock from hearing his name being spoken out to the masses. The hushed whispers seemed to grow in volume but Heimerdinger quickly put a stop to all the ruckus by hitting a gavel onto the sounding block, swiftly calling for order. Heimerdinger was not one to hide his excitement very well, but you noticed how your proposal seemed to have sparked something in him. “Lady [y/n], you do realize if these experiments are to take place, and anything should happen under your watchful eye that may put the citizens of Piltover in danger, you would be facing banishment, if said experiments go wrong?” he asked, looking over to you. You could hear your aunts faint gasp in the background. You looked at him, determination in your eyes. “Yes, I understand the consequences if Jayce Talis’ experiments go awry. And I swear, as all of you as my witness, I will undergo the necessary punishment that goes along with this task”.
“Then this trial is adjourned. Jayce Talis, your crimes have been condoned and you will report to [Y/N] Kiramman immediately if you are to start on your Magic trials”

Chapter 2 – Dangerous Variables
Navigation: CH 1 | CH 2 (you’re here)
There was something about the air in the lab now—charged, humming, watching.
You stayed.
Even after Jayce’s fingers slipped from yours. Even after Viktor’s confession, quiet and staggering. Even after logic screamed at you to walk out of that room before your heart caught fire.
You stayed.
And they didn’t look at you the same after that night
The next few days passed in fevered fragments. You tried to focus on your work—truly, you did—you had pretended not to notice how Viktor lingered too close, how his voice softened only when he spoke to you, and even how he would make you your favorite tea without having to ask.
You tried to ignore the way Jayce touched your shoulder in passing, like it meant nothing, like he wasn’t memorizing the slope of your body with every glance, how you would catch him staring at your lips whenever you finished speaking
But the tension only wound tighter. Like a coil, waiting to snap.
—
It finally broke late one night.
You were alone in the lab, recalibrating the Hexcore interface. The room pulsed with blue light. You could feel the hum in your bones, your work area was lit the same color as the very intracate form in front of you.
Then you felt him.
Jayce. Standing in the doorway, watching.
“I know what you’re doing,” he said.
You didn’t turn around. “Working?" you replied back, your tone laced with slight irritation.
He stepped closer. “No. You’re trying to pretend like this is just work. Like we didn’t tell you what we feel.” He was right behind you now, you could feel his gaze scorching your back and you didn't dare to look, fearing you would collapse under his gaze.
“I didn’t ask for any of this,” you whispered.
Jayce’s voice dropped. “Didn’t you?”
You turned then, ready to snap—but stopped cold.
Viktor stood just behind him, his expression unreadable.
“Don’t,” you said, backing away, attempting to put as much space between yourself and the two men in front of you. “Don’t do this. Not both of you.”
“But that’s the thing,” Viktor said softly, taking a tentative step forward. “It’s always been both of us.”
His eyes locked onto yours with startling intensity. “I tried to stay away. I told myself you were a distraction. I told myself I had no time for attachment. But every time I look at you… I feel like I'm losing control.”
Jayce moved behind you, just as Viktor had that first night. His presence was fire—overwhelming. You could feel your heartbeat everywhere, your ears felt hot and your hand slightly trembled.
“Maybe that’s the point,” Jayce murmured in your ear. “Maybe we all need to lose a little control.”
Janna, someone save me-
You were trapped between them now—Viktor’s sharp brilliance, Jayce’s smoldering power. Their emotions were no longer hidden. They wanted you. Together. You were suffocating.
“You don’t have to choose,” Jayce said, voice rough. “We’re not asking you to.”
You trembled. “And what are you asking for?”
Viktor’s hand came up slowly, brushing a strand of hair from your face with a tenderness that broke something open in you. “Everything.”
Jayce’s lips hovered near your throat. “All of you.”
They moved in sync, like they'd choreographed this—like you were the equation they had finally agreed to solve together.
And for once, you didn’t run.
—
Afterward, none of you speak right away.
You're pressed between them on Viktor’s narrow cot tucked behind the storage alcove. Jayce's arm is slung protectively across your waist as he plays with the slightly damp strands of your hair, and Viktor’s hand is still tangled in yours, rubbing slow circles on your skin.
No one moves. No one dares to.
“You’ll ruin me,” Viktor whispers.
Jayce chuckles, pressing a kiss to your bare shoulder. “We’ll ruin each other.”
You close your eyes, heart thundering as your heart flutters at the amount of attention they are giving you.
Maybe that’s what love is.
Not safe. Not sane.
But shared.
Even if it burns.

Chapter 3 – Resonance
Navigation: CH 1 | CH 2 | CH 3 (you’re here)
Jayce would not stop watching you.
Even whilst he tried to act normal, laughing over schematics and pacing during Council updates, his eyes always found you. His eyes flicking to your lips. Your hands. Your throat.
Viktor was probably worse.
He barely touched you now. Barely spoke to you—except in private, when he’d corner you between shelves and whisper things like “I dream about you. I wake up sweating and afraid you’ve disappeared.”
And all the while, something in the lab had begun to change.
The Hexcore glowed brighter when the three of you were near it. Its usual rhythmic pulses—calm and faint—were now erratic, almost as if it were... alive. It seemed to sense when all three of you were in proximity, thrumming like a second heartbeat. A shared one.
That morning, the readings spiked again.
You stood beside Viktor, staring at the console screen in disbelief.
“It’s responding to us,” you murmured. Your eyes were transfixed on the core in front of you and you couldn't bring yourself to look away.
Viktor didn’t look surprised. “I think it has been for some time. We simply weren’t… aligned.”
Jayce entered the room, shirt half-buttoned and eyes still heavy from sleep. “It’s been drawing energy from our emotional states,” he said, as if it were obvious. “Like it’s feeding off the bond.” Feeding off the bond? How was this even possible.
You turned to him. “That’s not just a theory anymore.”
“No,” Viktor said quietly, stepping closer to the Hexcore. “It’s evolution.”
You should have reported it to the Council.
Jayce knew that. So did Viktor.
But none of you did.
Because somewhere, beneath the awe and the fear, there was something else: possession.
This connection—between the three of you, and the core—felt sacred. Untouchable. The thought of anyone else interfering filled you with something hot and dangerous.
Even now, standing with Jayce beside you and Viktor’s shadow stretched long on the floor, you could feel the hunger building again—not just sexual, but emotional, existential. Like all of you had been incomplete before this. Broken halves, now suddenly whole.
Jayce reached out to take your hand again. His palm was warm, steady.
“You feel it too, right?” he asked.
You nodded.
Viktor looked up. “It’s changing us.”
You turned to him. “Into what?”
He stared at you for a long moment, before looking back at the core as it continued to thrum
“A trinity.”
—
That night, the Hexcore pulsed until the walls vibrated.
Jayce was the first to feel it—waking in a sweat, stumbling into the lab half-dressed to find you already there, eyes locked on the console’s flashing readings.
Viktor followed minutes later, coat dragging, face pale as he limped towards the two of you.
“It’s syncing to us,” he said. “It’s sensing our bond in real time.”
The air rippled and you swore you saw arcs of magic stretch between the three of you—thin, threadlike lines of light binding you together like a constellation.
You stepped closer to the Hexcore, hypnotized. Its glow flared as you reached out, hand hovering above it.
Jayce’s voice was rough as he called out to you. “Don’t touch it. Not yet.”
Viktor’s was hoarse. “She has to.”
You looked between them—and then, slowly, pressed your fingers to the surface.
The reaction was instant.
Light exploded from the core, throwing all of you back. The world vanished in white heat.
—
You awoke on the floor.
Jayce beside you. Viktor on the other.
And something inside the Hexcore was breathing.
Its hum was deeper now. Stronger. It had changed.
It knew you.
Viktor pulled himself upright, bleeding from a cut above his eyebrow. He looked at the core like it was some sort of deity.
Jayce’s hand found yours again, gripping tight.
“We’re not just in this,” he said quietly. “We are this.”
Viktor looked at you, then Jayce. “If the Council finds out—”
“They won’t,” Jayce cut in. “We’ll protect it. Protect her.”
Your throat felt dry and you tried to swallow the nervous feeling you couldn’t shake off.
And understood something terrifying:
This wasn’t love anymore.
It was devotion.
And devotion could destroy everything.
