Am I the only one who doesn’t feel strongly about this song? Like, I’m leaning towards positive with this song, but as someone who was way too old for the Trolls movie (which this song was first made for) when it came out, I just think of it as just another pop song. Nothing terrible, just doesn’t stand out.

The dance for this map is... fine! I don’t mean that in a derogatory way, it’s genuinely fine. It’s supposed to be the very first map in the story mode, and might even be the first map that someone plays after they boot up the game, so it’s going to be a bit simple and repetitive in it’s dance moves, especially if you know the dance moves the guest coaches are having Sarah and Wanderlust copy. But the dancing is fun and energetic (matching with the Moderate effort tag), and seeing the interactions between Sarah and Wanderlust is very cute.

Speaking of... Sarah and Wanderlust!

Starting with Sarah first, she’s SO adorable. I’m not sure why a girl who was uncomfortable dancing in front of her friends was suddenly comfortable dancing with Wanderlust, a complete stranger, but she gains the cutest outfit in the world so i don’t mind nor care. The space buns, the yellow fluffy jacket, the shiny neon green pleated skirts, the splashes of bright fucking pink... Literally an icon of our time. HER SHOES ARE CHUNKY TOO that’s a very important thing. The way she dances is cute, it’s like she’s dancing for the first time.

Wanderlust is cool as hell. First off I’ve always loved the word “wanderlust”, and I think it fits great with a guy who’s able to open portals to any danceverse he wants, and is the son of an alien goddess and Copyright Friendly Doctor Strange. His outfit is a bit confusing to me but it’s alright because he’s my friend. I abhor the crown though, and it’s the one thing he can’t remove according to the Just Dance twitter. But other than that, he’s just a super friendly coach who wants to help Sarah out of her shell, and show her the wonders of dancing. He’s a friendly guy! And no one can hate on that! And if you do hate on him for it I’m gonna fucking kill you!

Also fun fact, his actor, Jerky Jessy, is the one who choreographed both this version and the alt map version, so good for him.

Watching the routine, I feel like there’s a lot of moments where people who like Sarah/Wanderlust can point and be like “look at that, they’re being so cute”, and I support you guys. However, I do just genuinely see it as “Wanderlust shows his new friend around the danceverses”.

Four other coaches make cameos; TGIF’s coach, I Like It’s coach, Temperature’s coach, and Sweet Sensation’s coach. They don’t do much but have Sarah and Wanderlust copy their moves, which is fair and cute, especially if you’ve been keeping up with the series. Plus, two of these coaches (I Like It and Temperature) are from maps Jerky Jessy also choreographed.

Of course, a fifth coach shows up at the very end to kidnap the four guest coaches, causing Sarah and Wanderlust to fucking book it, but we’ll get to her map tomorrow...

As simple as the routine is in this map, what truly sells it is the spectacle of it all. Moving from place to place, constantly shifting camera angles, and just an overall sense of how HUGE this place is. This is the childlike sense of whimsy and wonder I’ve been missing for a while. To be completely transparent, I haven’t played a Just Dance game since... 2014, if memory serves. So a lot of these references are lost on me. But I can see how big the world of Just Dance has become since it landed in my peripheral vision, and it’s truly both fascinating and a bit fucking mind boggling. I remember when one of the biggest criticism lobbied at the game series was “where the hell is Lady Gaga’s song Just Dance”. I remember playing the first one in 2010. Fuck, I remember playing Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party back on the Wii, the minigame collection with the dancing minigame that inspired the creation of the Just Dance series in the first place. It’s so fucking wild that I’m still talking about a series I remember playing with my older sister when I was in middle school, a series that simply started off with Ubisoft going “hey the casual market liked the dancing minigame, let’s make that a full game with real dancers”.

Fuck, man. The more things change, I guess.

GENERAL RATING: THUMBS UP!

SPECIFIC RATING: 9/10

Man, this map is just fun. It’s a wonderful introduction to both the Enter the danceverses story line, and honestly to the game in general. It truly celebrates the game in a way that doesn’t feel too overly cheesy (unless you’re me who’s suddenly remembering how old you are lol), and the hook at the end where Night Swan appears and kidnaps the guest coaches is genuinely intimidating, and a great way to get players to look into the next map in the playlist. The only thing keeping it from being a perfect map is that I don’t care much about the song, the routine can be a little too easy for experienced players, and the almost ONE MINUTE LONG OPENING SCENE WHAT THE HELL. I get we needed to build a little character for Sarah and show how she got literally into the game, but could we not have done it in a slightly more truncated way? At least five seconds could’ve been cut off. But, overall, fun map, fun coaches, fun way to start the story mode! You can’t ask for much more than that!

week 1 term 4.

Gaberasa term 4 udah start, jd brp minggu lagi kita term break? Wkwk. Btw, ada beberapa yg ku highlight di minggu yg mayan padat hectic ini, here we gooo.

1. P6 TO mtk nya progress alhamdulillah. Seseneng itu liat Karlo ga macem-macem pas belajar & keliatan dia sungguh-sungguh buat passing his target score :")) good job karlo!

2. Satu hari rega bener-bener gabisa dibilangin, dipanggil baik" ga dengerin, ganggu yg lain... Sampe akhirnya ku bilang, "rega, u won't pay attention? Fine, i'm done". Terus dia langsung balik duduk & behaved. Sesungguhnya ku gabisa gapeduli sm murid manapun huhu sekalipun bilang i'm done. Apalagi regaa wkwk, gatau ya, pernah ga si random seneng sama satu murid tanpa alesan? For me, rega. Beberapa anak lain ku seneng jugaa karena dia ambis belajar, nice boy nurut ga neko", dll, dll. Sedih juga pas weekly meeting nilai & progress rega jd masuk ke warning list :( regaaa, ayo lebih semangat ya! Bismillah smoga miss bisa bantuu :''

3. Masih rega juga, kita random" ngobrol trus dia nanya ttg islam. "miss, why do almost all teachers wear this kinda fabric (maksudnya jilbab)?" next day pas ngobrol lagi, kita bahas ttg sunday school dia, gereja minggu, cerita gambar jesus, trus dia nanya, "miss sorry, how do u imagine ur God? Does He look like somebody or...?". Omg omg pertanyaannyaaa. Ku jawab sebisaku & ku sampein gimana ku & mungkin beberapa muslim lain bisa yakin & merasa Allah itu ada, dekat walaupun kita ga bisa & ga boleh bayangin wujud Allah.

4. Pas preparation week ngobrol sm satu guru bule & follow-followan ig. Randomly dia nanya, ada ga foto kamu yg ga pake kerudung disini (di ig)? Of course noooo. Trus dia nanya lagi, kalo kamu punya foto yg ga pake kerudung kalo saya or orang lain pengen lihat, would you mind to show us? NOOO, it's a big no for us. Dia jelasin karna beberapa orang curious sm perempuan berkerudung, apakah mereka kliatan mirip antara pake & ga. Lanjutlah ku jelasin siapa-siapa aja secara garis besar yg bisa tahu rambut seorang yg pake kerudung menurut Al Quran, salah satunya husband. Trus dia lanjut nanya, what about boyfriend or fiancée? Are they allowed to see his woman's hair? Terus coba jelasin konsep mahrom gituu secara umum, omg melebar kemana-mana ya berawal dr ig wkwk.

Well sering ku ngerasa sangat-sangat masih minim ilmu islam, padahal ditanya hal-hal yg masih umum tp kadang kita lupa buat menggalinyaaa :'' satu hari pernah jalan sm school director, nobar film salah satu guru kita, satu kalimat yg nempel dr mrs. K, "i know u r all good muslims, i see the values of islam from ur work, urself", deg! Kita ga hanya represent diri kita tp sadar or gasadar orang akan liat juga background & beliefsnya.

5. TGIF, dan hari pertama alatihan buat teacher performance, hari ini juga pertama kali ku presentasi math montessori ke guru-guru lain, bismillaaah semoga besok makin baik lagi deliveringnya :’))

1. Hãy học đúng trình độ phù hợp với bản thân

Hãy chú ý tới tầm quan trọng của từ vựng để chọn đúng trình độ phù hợp với bản thân. Đây là điều chắc chắn bạn cần phải làm khi muốn học tốt tiếng Anh. Việc không ép bản thân học từ không có nghĩa là bạn không đặt mục tiêu khi học, đừng hiểu nhầm điều này nhé! Mục tiêu bạn học phải đủ lớn cũng như đủ cảm hứng mới kích thích bạn học hiệu quả.

Nếu bạn học 5 từ vựng mỗi ngày, sau 1 tháng bạn có 150 từ. Tuy nhiên nếu bạn đặt mục tiêu là 30 từ, thì sau sau 1 tháng con số đó sẽ là 900 từ. Thoạt đầu tiên, bạn có thể đặt mục tiêu số từ cần học nhỏ, nếu đã quen với những phương pháp ghi nhớ, bạn hoàn toàn có thể tăng số lượng từ vựng muốn học lên. Mình đã thấy rất nhiều bạn đặt mục tiêu học 50 từ một ngày, sau 1 tháng các bạn hoàn toàn đã có số lượng 1500 từ. Để đạt được cách học thuộc nhanh tiếng Anh đó cần có lộ trình và phương pháp cụ thể.

3. Học từ vựng gắn liền với cảm xúc sẽ đem lại hiệu quả gấp bội

Bạn có nhớ rằng ngày xưa bạn học quả chanh như thế nào?

Đó là lúc ban đầu bạn được cầm 1 quả màu xanh xanh, vị chua ngay đầu lưỡi khi bạn tiếp xúc đồng thời phản ứng tự nhiên của cơ thể là bạn sẽ nhăn mặt lại và nói đó là quả chanh. Lần tới bạn gặp lại quả đó, bạn sẽ biết ngay quả đó là quả chanh, hay có thể chỉ cần nhắc tới thôi, bạn sẽ tự động nhớ lại mình đã được nếm chua như thế nào đồng thời tự động tiết nước bọt. Bạn dễ dàng nhớ từ vì có cả sợi dây thông tin về màu sắc, hình dáng, kích thước, mùi vị,… đi kèm.

Học có cảm xúc là cách học từ vựng hiệu quả và nhớ lâu

Não bộ luôn luôn nhớ tốt hơn rất nhiều với các thông tin có tính liên kết. Bởi vậy, nếu bạn nhớ từ helmet là mũ bảo hiểm ra sao? Nhưng hãy tưởng tượng bạn đang chở con heo mệt đi khám nhưng không đội mũ bảo hiểm và bị công an kiểm tra dọc đường thì dễ nhớ hơn đúng không?

4. Dùng từ ngay lập tức

Không cần dùng bất kỳ một kỹ năng cao siêu nào cả, đây chính là cách học từ vựng tiếng Anh cho người mất gốc hoàn toàn cơ bản, dễ dùng đồng thời hiệu quả vô cùng. Với bất kỳ từ vựng nào mới học hãy dùng cả nghe, nói, đọc viết ngay lập tức. Bạn có thể sử dụng cho việc đăng bài lên facebook, nhắn tin với gấu,…Bạn sẽ thấy bất ngờ rằng việc làm chủ các từ vựng đó thực sự rất dễ dàng.

5. Lặp lại từ nhiều lần

Việc lặp lại sẽ giúp bạn ghi nhớ từ vựng nhanh cũng như giúp bạn nhớ lâu hơn từ vựng đó. Với một từ, bạn gặp từ đó khoảng 10-20 lần là nhớ từ vĩnh viễn. Việc bạn không nhớ từ là do bạn chưa chịu ôn tập đủ và gặp từ đủ số lần mà thôi.

Finally got to experience my first open mic because of our client JD. I helped him with the tech stuff at work and he was impressed with what I did so in return he invited me to his event. I came as as guest but hopefully on the next one I’ll have a piece to perform already. It was fun. It is definitely a new kind of experience. TGIF!
