Trick or Treat

My Halloween gift for you all. In which Adrien deserves love, Plagg needs to tone it down, Hawkmoth can’t take a holiday off and the Black Cat ghosts are Adrien’s true parents. 

“Is it that time of year already?” Plagg asked gleefully as Adrien decorated his room. “Yep! I’m so excited, Plagg!” Adrien replied. “All this is a long way from how we used to celebrate Hallow’s Eve.” Jean recalled. “What did you use to do?” Adrien asked.

“We’d light fires, chasing away the demons. Then we had the danse macabre, where people dressed as corpses.” Jean explained. An uncomfortable silence followed.

“Anyway....I’m just happy this’ll be my first Halloween with you guys.” Adrien finally said. “That’s all?” Plagg asked. “Don’t walk into it, it’s a trap.” Hei Mao muttered. “What do you mean, Plagg?” Adrien asked. “Too late.” Bastet groaned. “You’re a Black Cat, Adrien! And as such, you are a staple of Halloween! This is YOUR holiday!! You shall haunt the streets of Paris!!” Plagg ranted dramatically.

“What Plagg means to say is that we are also excited to spend Halloween with you, Adrien,” Felix said. “So, what are you guys dressing up as?” Adrien asked enthusiastically. The Cats all looked at each other, confused. “What?” They all asked in unison. “You know, what costume are you gonna wear!” Adrien replied. “We...never really have.” Hei Mao said slowly.

“You’ve NEVER dressed up for Halloween?!” Adrien asked incredulously. “Well, we’re ghosts,” Antiope said. “And historical figures,” Alex added. “And technically superheroes.” Aladdin continued. “So, three in one, right? We can just be ourselves.” Hei Mao decreed. “That’s kinda cheating.” Adrien remarked, “Come on, you have to dress up!” “We’ll see...”

A week later, it was Halloween and Adrien woke up to a very surprising sight. All the Cats had dressed up! Aladdin and Alexander had dressed up as Antiope, Felix was Cat Noir, and.......well, he didn’t quite know who everyone else was. But at least they dressed up, at they said it was the scariest thing they could think of. Adrien went as Ladybug, of course. Once school was over, the group went trick or treating. Although he had to be discreet about talking to them, it was a blast to trick or treat with the ghosts. And then an akuma came.

“Geez, Hawkmoth can’t take one day off?!” Plagg yelled, exasperated. “Looks like Hawkmoth chose trick.” Adrien joked, “Plagg, claws out!” “You sure you don’t want me to take this one? I am Cat Noir tonight, after all.” Felix teased. “You’ve always been Cat Noir, gramps.” Cat Noir retorted, “Wish me luck!” “Good luck, kitten!” Hei Mao cheered. “We believe in you!” Aladdin added. They all couldn’t help but smile as Cat Noir joined Ladybug in the fight. They were so proud of their boy.

How Aladdin Screwed Up the Reveal

A small drabble for my good friend @nerdasaurus1200, based in her Ghost Bug AU! In this AU, Aladdin, one of Adrien’s Black Cat ghosts, basically reveals that Marinette is Ladybug in front of Adrien. You can guess how that goes.

It was late at night in the town of Paris, and most of the activity had quieted down. As a matter of fact, most people were in bed, asleep. However, Adrien Agreste was not one of them. He had just got back from fighting a late-night akuma, that of all the times in the world, had attacked at two o'clock in the morning.

Needless to say, most of the Black Cat Ghosts were also pissed off. Their boy needed his rest to grow strong and healthy, and become the best Black Cat of them all! Thankfully, it was a Saturday - so a lot of teenagers might also be up at this hour.

However, as Adrien got ready for bed, the ghosts were all having a debate/friendly discussion, depending on your POV, of the whole event... but another topic of discussion amongst them happened to be Adrien's obliviousness to Marinette being Ladybug.

"Its starting to become humorous," Felix chuckled under his breath.

"That'll be enough, Felix," Bastet told Felix threateningly. The former Black Cat put his hands up, despite the fact that he was only teasing, not wanting to piss of the Egyptian goddess any more than he already had.

"You can't fault him for thinking so, Bastet," pointed out Phantom Lion. "I mean, usually, the reveal has happened by now, no?"

"I didn't know that my Ladybug happened to be the woman I was guarding, Jeanne d'Arc, until it was too late," Jean d'Aulon said. "So there are occasions where it takes a bit more time than others."

"That's... a good example?" Phantom Lion said, trying not to make the conversation grimmer than necessary.

"Oh, well, I wouldn't know," Aladdin chuckled, walking forward. "I mean, Bug-less here!"

"Exactly," Hamilton teased, walking forward. "So you really have no room to talk in this conversation."

"Well, all I'm saying," Aladdin continued, "is that, by now, you'd have thought... Adrien should've put the pieces together by now."

He failed to notice everyone in the room's eyes go wide, and also failed to notice everyone making shushing motions.

"I mean, think about it, really!" Aladdin said, completely oblivious to his surrounding compatriots trying to get him to shut up. "Is there any other blue-haired, pigtail hair styled girls in Paris besides Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Ladybug? We've been all around the place during battles! NO!"

Antiope was very, very close to strangling him.

"Point being - Marinette IS LADYBUG!" Aladdin finished. When he opened his eyes, he saw everyone's faces, and nodded. "He's right behind me, isn't he?"

Aladdin turned around, and there was a wide-eyed Adrien standing there, and all the ghosts were sent into panic mode. "Way to go, Bug-less," Hamilton whispered, tacking on a "dumbass" in a separate whisper.

"A-Adrien, sweetheart, hi!" Cassie said, trying to play this incident off - she knew it was futile, but it was worth a shot. "A-Are you ready for bed? Sure is late, isn't it, haha?!"

"M-Mari... Marinette... Marinette is..."

"He's gonna snap," El Gato muttered, looking at his ghost partners. "Was nice knowing you all."

"MARINETTE IS LADYBUG?!"

"There he goes," El Gato nodded.

Adrien then yelled at the top of his lungs, and ran out of his room.

"Oh, dammit-ADRIEN!" Cassie called out, racing after him. Several of the other ghosts charged after him, while Hamilton stayed behind to lecture Aladdin. Plagg, meanwhile, observed the chaos from above, thoroughly enjoying it all. This was the most fun reveal he had been through in CENTURIES!

Anyway, war had broken out in the Agreste household. Thankfully, the mansion was empty, as Gabriel was on a business trip. Otherwise this could've ended much more disastrously.

What caused Adrien to fall asleep that night was actually exhaustion from running, crying into Cassie's shoulder for about a minute for literally no reason, then pacing for five more. Oh, and the akuma battle.

(The ghosts all made a mutual agreement to convince Adrien that this was all a dream in the morning.)

I think she had a team of sorts. I think  Jean d'Aulon was her Black Cat, while Gilles de Rais was the Turtle of the time. Maybe the Dauphin had the Moth? I’m sure Jean and Gilles tried to save her, but I doubt they knew exactly where she was being kept prisoner.
