So I'm only a few episodes in, but I already love The Sandman so much. But, (SPOILERS), by far one of the funniest scenes so far is when Johanna wants to go in to talk to Rachel alone and asks Dream if he has any ex-girlfriends and he's just visibly sweating. Then he let's her go without any further arguing. Funniest thing I've seen all day.

Let's start Spooktober with The Sandman! I quite enjoyed The Sandman, and the gothic horror themes, characters and the overall plot points in Season 1. Plus points for the consistent world-building and the soundtrack/scores throughout the episodes. Some memorable parts of the show that I really enjoyed: 1. The Dream vs Lucifer Showdown 2. The Diner episode (my favorite episode in the series so far): watching this felt like witnessing a pressure cooker continously steaming and overheating, and you just kept expecting it to burst at any point. The way all the events kept happening while steadily building tension to a chaotic breaking point..just brilliant! 3. The portrayal of Death: It was beautiful. The essence of Death's character was wonderful - sensitive and soothing. The actress who plays Death did very well in presenting all this. I'll try to explain why I REALLY liked this. Generally in most media, Death has been depicted as a terrifying, fearful creature that comes to collect souls and end life. Its been an opinion of mine that Death is not an evil, terrifying, scythe-wielding entity, but one that has been created to aid in the one stage of life that is inevitable. Death is a transition, an end of something. The Taker of souls has understandably been painted in a frightening manner since dying is a frightening concept for most of us. I feel that the Grim Reaper/Angel of Death/etc is just doing the job they were made to do - when it is a living creature's time to pass. This is why I also loved Death's portrayal in Marcus Zusak's book, The Book Thief. The Sandman and this book both did a very brilliant job adding depth to Death's characters. I have not read the Sandman comics so I cannot make comparisons of the show with the source material. There could be some improvement in terms of visual effects, but overall, The Sandman was a great watch. I will wait patiently for Season 2. Your thoughts? #thesandman #netflix #neilgaiman #dccomics #dc #morbeus #constantine #tomsturridge #jennacoleman #gwendolinechristie #lucifer #lucifermorningstar #corinthian #desire #death #pattonoswalt #markhamill https://www.instagram.com/p/CjLrMdstSgG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I just finished watching The Sandman and it was absolutely fantastic. Definitely one of the best shows I've watched all year, and it is one of my favorites now for sure. I cannot wait for the next season.
