Sorry that post I just posted is making me feel things.

Rosencrantz, who has always been seen as his friend group’s ‘comic relief’ suddenly being launched into the real world when he returns to Elsinore. Seeing his old friend acting as if he’s having a mental breakdown, and said friend’s father dead. Having to spy on someone he potentially still cares about, because the reward is too great. Feeling the only person he can count on is Guil, who is the only person he’s ever counted on.

Notice how, as the play goes on, Ros gradually makes less jokes. Perhaps this is because of the gap that grows between him and Hamlet, but this may also be because he’s suddenly figuring out how awful life is. How, every time he tries to make light of a situation, Guil snaps at him. Jokes won’t fix the fact that people all around him are dying.

He’s always been the person to make situations lighter, happier. But he’s the one to cry before he’s hanged, not Guil.

This is not speaking as a hater but as someone who fully enjoys this style and genre of content but I’m getting so sick of when someone titles their explainer or recap video with UNHINGED RECAP OF [BLANK] or INSANE GIRL TRIES TO EXPLAIN THE PLOT OF THING and really it’s just someone using photo pictures and a pointer to calmly explain the plot of a tv show that is like.
