Long Time Coming | Jeremy Swayman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you’ve been in love with each other for years, so surely you guys have picked up on it by now
request: yes/no
warnings: mild swearing?
word count: 2.21k
authors note: this is my first time writing for any of the bruins players and I have to say that this is really one of my favourites that I have written in a while. This is the softness we all deserved before I get to something a little more fiery tomorrow for valentines day!
Tumblr media
It was a friendship that was never meant to work.
Jeremy was a popular hockey player and you were a journalism major who preferred spending her time in the library as opposed to the dorms. You swore that the hockey team on campus was bound to all be irritating but when you ended up in a class with Jeremy. Surprised to say that you were paired up with a hockey player for your pottery course was an understatement.
But three weeks in to your first semester and you found your random elective quickly becoming your favorite class. The goalie made you feel alive as he brought this spark to your life. His teammates started seeing less of him at parties and they were confused until they finally met you.
Jeremy spent weeks convincing you to finally come to his game. Of course the tale went that when you showed up it was his first shut out game of his college career. Even as the crowd chanted his name, all he wanted was to look for you. It was like clockwork when the boys saw Jeremy lock eyes with you.
That was the first time that the boys realized Jeremy was in love. The way he spun you around, gushing about how you were his lucky charm. It was also the night that seemed to be the turning point in your relationship with Jeremy. He was no longer your classmate, he was your friend and soon to be your best friend.
Years had gone by, Jeremy had made his way to the NHL and you had finally graduated. It was funny how you had grown attached to each other, like the moment you left college you were in Boston. Jeremy had you in the guest bedroom of his apartment which made life tougher than ever.
It was Valentine’s Day and you ended up in his dorm after he revealed that his girlfriend was cheating on him.
Jeremy swore you had never shown up as fast as you did there. The boy didn’t even time to fully open his door before you were in his arms  “hey Jer.” You sighed as his body clung to yours “she left me.” Jeremy sobbed as tears streamed down his cheeks.
You rubbed his back desperate to ease his pain “you are better without her.” You mumbled kissing his shoulder as you raked your fingers through his hair “you know I’m not.” Jeremy had spoken to you of how he loved her like she was his world.
The boy huffed into your neck “I brought everything we need tonight.” Your words made him furrow his eyebrows as he pulled away from you “for what?” Jeremy saw the plastic bag in your hand that had a mixed bunch of goods.
You took the opportunity to walk into his room as you shut the door behind you “because we are going to eat our feelings away tonight.” You smiled pulling out two tubs of ice cream knowing that neither one of you were about to share.
Jeremy couldn’t help but smile as he ran his fingers over his jaw “I can’t ask you to stay with me on Valentine’s Day.” He shook his head as it made your lips curl upright “then it’s a good thing that I’m insisting.” You shot back as you held the pint out in his direction.
It was your kindness that Jeremy first fell in love with. The way you would think about giving someone the shirt off of your back if it could help them. Jeremy felt his heart grow full at the way you were always in the TD Garden with young fans helping them get his attention during warm ups and at the end of games.
He had grown so comfortable with you and maybe that was his fault. Everyone treated you like you were his girlfriend because you were his partner. You might not have been his romantically but in life you were clearly his.
That’s why it was so surprising to see you in your room getting ready for a date “you look nice.” Jeremy let his bag drop to the floor as he had come home from practice “thank you.” You smiled plumping your lips together as it coated your lipstick around your lips.
The hockey player had to admit that he was confused as he leaned against the wall “do you think that he will like it?” You asked as you did a little spin letting him see your outfit in full. It was a blue dress that looked perfect on your skin as the springtime came in “you look perfect.” Jeremy nodded as he felt his chest pang “he?” The boy repeated your words as he froze.
Watching you grab your phone from your table you rolled your eyes “remember when I told you I was going out with Taylor for lunch.” You motioned to the calendar that had the date and time that you were meant to see him “I didn’t know that Taylor was a dude!” Jeremy’s words brought a scoff to your lips as you crossed your arms.
He was quick to mentally curse himself as he saw you furrow your eyebrows “why does the gender of my date matter to you?” You cocked your head pressing your finger against his chest “because.” It seemed that in that moment all Jeremy wanted was to tell you that he loved you yet he had all but forgotten how to talk.
Your foot tapped against the wooden flooring as you awaited an answer “you want to give me an answer?” You watched him practically crawl back into himself as he sighed “have a nice night Jeremy.” He gasped at the feeling of your shoulder hitting his as you walked straight to the front door not giving him a chance to talk.
Jeremy was left wallowing in his emotions as he stared at the different pictures of you two that lived in his phone. The time he surprised you by making it to your graduation, the time you were there for his NHL debut. Even the picture of you two at one of his teammates weddings when Jeremy was caught staring at you.
That was the day when his current teammates realised that Jeremy was in love with you “you will not believe it!” You groaned as you slammed the door behind you “you’re home early.” The boy mumbled going quiet as he was met with a glare.
Jeremy frowned as he watched you collapse onto the couch next to him “think he wanted to go on a date with you before me.” You complained resting your head on his shoulder “I’m sorry you had a bad date.” The hockey player was quick to wrap his arm around you.
Like always you melted into his touch “no you’re not.” You mumbled feeing him kiss your head “just like that I was right.” Jeremy could have lied but you knew him far too well for the chance to go unnoticed.
You couldn’t help but laugh “you’re such an ass.” A giggle left your lips as Jeremy turned to look at you “sorry you let this outfit go to waste on him.” His hand ran along your cheek “you like my outfit.” You batted your eyelashes as you smiled.
Jeremy nodded enjoying the feeling of your soft skin against his thumb “like anything you wear.” He mumbled beginning to turn his head to yours. Like clockwork his eyes shut and just as yours did your phone began to ring “shoot.” You groaned seeing your mom’s contact appear on the screen.
It hit the boy like a cold shower as he watched you get up grabbing your phone “hey mom.” You tan your fingers through your hair as you sent Jeremy a sorry look “yeah I can talk.” You nodded along walking back into your room as you began catching her up on the events of your day.
As the evening turned into night and the hours went on, Jeremy didn’t see you again as he had gone to bed. Whilst the lights in the apartment were off both of your minds were active. Truthfully neither one of you remembered what it was like to have your minds this full.
Jeremy stared at the pictures on his phone of you two and he couldn’t help but curse your mom for calling. Especially after you called your mom this cool woman who was your best friend, that was a far cry from what he would have described as a cock block.
What he didn’t know was that you were pacing outside of his door. You hadn’t even noticed but halfway through your phone call with your mom you were bringing up how you wanted kiss your roommate. Because of course you had been in love with him since your college days too. Yet yours came from your time in class together.
You had been in the lecture hall for five minutes as you set yourself up in the middle of the rows. Whilst students came flooding into the cramped room, you were too focused on your phone to notice how Jeremy walked right to you “this seat taken?” The question was innocently asked with a voice barely above a whisper that you didn’t even care to look up as you instead opted to nod.
It gave Jeremy the chance to settle in next to you “I’m Jeremy.” Even as you two had been in classes together, he had never gotten the chance to see you, especially not like this “Y/n.” You took his hand that he held out for you to shake.
A smile formed on his lips as he couldn’t help but study your facial features that stood before him in all their glory as you woke up late with little to no time for make up that morning “I know.” Jeremy grinned seeing your lips curve upward “you know?” Your words were playful as you didn’t believe him.
The boy laughed as he nodded “think you’re real pretty y/n.” Your name sounded like honey as it rolled off of his tongue “think that’s enough flirting from you for one day Swayman.” You tucked your hair behind your ear avoiding how wide your smile had grown as you avoided his stare when your cheeks turned red.
The memories of that day made you smile as you never thought you would fall in love with him. But you couldn’t help but come back to your dorm to gush to your mom about how different your expectations of him were. Yet all of those thoughts were pushed to the back of your mind as the boys door opened letting you be met by his chest.
You almost fell back as Jeremy’s quick reaction time pulled you closer to him as he steadied your feet “what are you doing awake?” His voice was low as he watched you gulp “couldn’t sleep.” Your fingers ran over his bare chest as you looked up at him.
If eyes were the key to the soul then the two of you were currently open books “you?” Your lips pursed together as the tension between you both could have been cut by a knife “couldn’t sleep.” He shrugged as he reached behind your head tucking your hair behind your ear.
Jeremy loved how you smiled up at him “what’s on your mind?” He asked noting how your eyebrow arched like something was on your mind “you.” The word came from your lips like it word vomit.
But as his expression turned surprised it made you go quiet “me?” You nodded letting out a sigh “I try to ignore it but god I’m in love with you.” You ran your fingers through your hair as Jeremy just stared at you.
Maybe it was the shock of hearing you say that but he swore he was dreaming “and I don’t want to lose you but I can’t.” Your chest heaved “I can’t keep on going on these dates hoping it might get you to say something to me.” Tears formed in your waterline as you chewed at the inside of your cheek.
Jeremy finally opted to put you out of your misery when he smiled “you love me?” His voice was shaky as he squeezed your hips “you’re being mean Jer.” You nodded feeling like you were on the edge of your seat waiting to hear what he would say.
A laugh left his lips “think you can answer my question f’me pretty girl?” Jeremy taunted as he smirked “I’m in love with you.” Your voice was barely a whisper as he shut the gap between you both.
The air was palpable as your heart pounded “I love you too.” Your hair wrapped around his finger as he smiled “can I kiss you?” Jeremy let his lips hover over yours “please.” You nodded letting your eyes shut when he kissed you.
The kiss made you melt as his lips swiped across yours. Jeremy let his hands travel through your hair settling at the nape of your neck refusing to let you go. Only when you both needed air did you pull apart “wow.” Jeremy groaned running his thumb over your lower lip.
It made you laugh “yeah.” You nodded sending him a smile “think we should do that more often.” Your words had the boy pulling you into his room “why wait?” The hockey player asked picking you up as your legs wrapped around his waist as he picked you up.
Whilst the city might have been colder as the rain came in that night with a spring storm but what nobody would know was how hot the activities were in his room. You were left twisted in his sheets as your hearts intertwined and life began to show that the only way possible for you both was together.

Lover Boy - Part 1
Warnings: None
Pairing(s): Jeremy Swayman x Fem!Reader
Summary: Y/N Ullmark gets a job with the Bruins as their new photographer. They haven't seen each other in a few years, some things have changed. What happens when her brother's best friend develops a crush on her?
________________________________________________
“Hey guys today’s media day as you know, we gotta get our roster shots. We have a new photographer so do me a favor, be nice to her, she’s ullmarks sister.” I heard Brad Marchand say from inside the locker room. A series of cat-call whistles went off in the locker room before I heard my brother clear his throat. I roll my eyes. Here we go, I think to myself. “Completely off limits to every single one of you. Don’t even think about it.” He says. The whistles continue and I let out a laugh a little louder than needed. The locker room went silent. “I guess I’ll come in now,” I said, stifling the giggles from seconds ago. “As you guys know I’m Y/n Ullmark, your new media girl. So if you guys could suit up and head out to the hallway in 20 that would be great!” I say, and just before walking fully out of the locker room, I saw someone I recognized, Swayman. The last time I saw him was when he first got signed and became best friends with my brother. He looks a little older now. We locked eyes, he gave a smile and a wave which was returned before I headed to the hallway to set up. I set up my camera stand, the lights, and the background as the guys were lining up. A few of the boys jokingly hit on me, but I took it lightly. I could tell I was going to love this job. I was down to the last two guys which were Pasta and Sway. After photoing Pasta it was just me and Sway in the hallway. “Y/n, it’s been so long. How was school?” He asked. “Ah, he speaks. School was awesome but it definitely had its ups and downs. I’ve been keeping up with stats, you guys have been doing really well. Are you excited to be in net for the rangers game tomorrow? I hear they’ve got a new bruiser, Matt something?” I asked while fixing the lighting for his photo. “Matt Rempe, yeah I’ve heard of the kid. Make sure you get my good side tomorrow. No bad angles.” He joked. I laughed and playfully pushed him into position for the photo. I snapped a few good headshots for the roster and some full body for the Instagram, which I now run. Most of the photos weren’t usable since he kept making silly faces at the camera but those were the photos I knew the fans would adore. After taking his pictures he walked back to the locker room and I started putting away the lights and backdrops. This took longer than I thought it would. Almost all of the boys had left by the time I was almost done putting it all away. “Hey, Y/n do you need any help with all of that?” Sway asked from down the hallway, walking out of the locker room in jeans and a flannel, while putting on his hat, flipping so it's backwards. “Oh no its okay, I’m almost finished.” I responded with a smile. “Are you sure, its really no bother.” He said. “Y/n, is this guy bothering you?” My brother asked, stifling a chuckle as he walked down the hallway towards us. “Hey Bubba, Sway asked me to go get drinks with him, would you mind putting the lights and tripod in the closet?” I asked my brother sweetly, watching Jer’s face drop into a puzzled expression out of the corner of my eye. “Wait, what I-“ My brother started. “Thank youuuu.” I interrupted, grabbing Sway's hand and pulling him toward the exit. I turned around to see my brother still standing there shocked. “No need to worry bubba its just as friends, promise.” Once we walked about of the arena I let go of his hand. “Alright tendy, where are you taking me for drinks?” I asked as we make the short walk over to his truck. “Well, since I don’t have much of a choice I was thinking Brock’s bar. Have you ever been?” He asked unlocking the doors and opening his own. I opened mine and grabbed the handle at the top to pull myself in. “Oh come on Jer don’t act like you don’t love my company. I’ve been once or twice but I don’t really remember those nights honestly.” I joked, and we both laughed at the hard truth while he started the truck.

on a lighter note, what hockey influences (like in term of her playing style) do you think peanut gets from like aus, mat, and the hughes brothers?
also what hockey influences (playing style) do you think lila gets from matt, brady, keith, & any other goalies that impact/ speak to her)?
ooh i like this one!
okay so peanut tries to score. she loves passing, but she grew up watching mitch pass, so in her eyes, her passes are never that good. she can never replicate those. so she goes for her dad's shot, or barzy's shot. or she'll go for jack's flair with her cellies. and sometimes she'll put on a burst of speed the way she's seen her uncles do when they all play against each other. she can replicate those things and be satisfied with the result, but to her - mitchy's passes are too good and she can't try to copy those, so she doesn't pass like he does.
lilah gets most of her inspiration from bob. she adored him as a kid (always will) and she just replicates his style in her game. surprisingly, her playing style isn't like anyone in her family - they like to chirp a lot, while lilah would rather let her plays do the talking. she stared down someone once, and then began giggling bcz it was so stupid. she talks to a few pwhl goalies - and kristen campbell, nicole hensley, and ann-renee desbiens are the three that sort of stuck out to her. like they were very cool in her eyes and she studied their game to try to replicate it. she also finds jeremy swayman really cool and he offered her some advice once, so she gets some inspo from that too.

Leon on the Bruins?? 👀 Somehow I’ve never considered it, and now I won’t be able to *stop* thinking about it. Is there anything you’d be willing to share?
The basics of the trade idea are that the Oilers aren't improving and the goaltending stays abysmal. In my, obviously, professional opinion, Jeremy Swayman legit deserves at least a shot at a starting position, and that'll never happen in Boston. And it would free up a little bit of the McDavid-Draisaitl-Nurse cap hit so they could maybe also get some decent actual defensemen.
Also, I'm fairly certain Boston has a good enough shot at a Cup in the next few years that it's one of the few places Draisaitl MIGHT consider waiving his NMC for (other teams with great goalies are iffy on that aspect).
AND Boston lost their 1 and 2C over the off season, so it's reasonable they might be interested in someone if Drat's caliber to fill those spots, even at his current cap hit. Like Drat is a top 3 center in this league, don't play.
So that's the logic behind the trade. And the set-up for the entire idea.
The rest of it is more of the general cliche of 1929 having an enemies to fuck buddies deal when MT was in Calgary, that stopped after he went to Florida, obviously both of them had 0 emotions about this. Of course. Never an emotion. LD gets traded to Boston near the All Star break. You get them back on the same All Star team. And thennnnnn the actual bulk of the idea starts up when they meet up in the ECF. Rivalries. Playoffs. Reawakened emotions from the ASG. LD and MT competing together against CMD. Me rubbing my hands together evilly at the angst.

Boston Bruins lose to New Jersey Devils 2-1 in Overtime
The Bruins were away on Wednesday night in Newark, New Jersey, playing the Devils for the first time this season. Both teams played a highly defensive game, tying 1-1 at the end of regulation, but Jack Hughes' quick wrist shot beat Jeremy Swayman in Overtime, securing the New Jersey victory.
The Bruins opened the first period with a lot of energy, and dominated play for the opening minutes. A slashing penalty on Boston defenseman Mason Lohrei helped New Jersey get their bearings and match the pace of the Bruins, though the game remained scoreless. Bruins’ center Geekie would change that at 16:01, with the help of linemates Heinen and van Riemsdyk, who fought hard to protect the puck against the boards and prevent New Jersey from clearing the zone when they gained possession. Geekie took advantage of the New Jersey turnover and sank the pass from van Reimsdyk to put the Bruins up 0-1.
The second period lacked the intensity of the first period, but pressure tested the penalty kill for both teams. Devils’ defenseman Marino went to the box for tripping just a minute into the period. The Bruins struggled to maintain possession even with the man advantage, and even let up a slight rush from New Jersey that was luckily used as a chance to change their lines instead of a scoring opportunity. When Marino came out of the box, the Bruins hadn’t managed a single shot on goal. The Bruins penalty kill unit got their time to shine when defenseman Carlo tripped Devil’s center Jack Hughes with four minutes left in the second period. Despite being the highest-rated penalty kill in the league, the Bruins were facing the highest-rated power play. Two blocked shots and quality defense later, the penalty was killed successfully. Shortly after, the Bruins managed a rush attempt that sent Pastrnak crashing into Devils goalie Vanecek, though the period remained scoreless, and the Bruins maintained their lead.
When the third period started, it didn’t take New Jersey long to prove that they weren’t done yet. A blue-line slap shot from Bruins defenseman Shattenkirk started a scramble for the puck in front of Vanecek’s goal, and was recovered by Devils forward (and former Bruin) Erik Haula, who rushed with linemates Holtz and Mercer. While the initial rush was unsuccessful in tying the game, the Devils maintained possession of the puck in their offensive end and eventually scored on a third-attempt shot after Haula’s second shot hit a pipe and bounced to Mercer’s stick. Despite tying the game at 1-1, the game’s momentum struggled to stay in New Jersey’s favor, as they had difficulty connecting passes through the third period. The rest of regulation was a series of possession changes with no quality scoring opportunities from either side, and a final minute that indicated that both teams were content to go to overtime.
The 3-on-3 overtime was as exciting as it is intended to be, with a number of shot attempts and possession change as a result. New Jersey won the faceoff in their offensive zone preceding Jack Hughes’ game-winner, but turned the puck over to the Bruins, giving them one final attempt before Jesper Brett passed across the ice to Hughes, whose quick wrist shot beat Swayman and clutched a win for the Devil’s. The points from tonight’s game brings them closer to a playoff spot, but they still have a lot of work ahead of them.
Such a defensive game is proof of the Bruins defensive depth, as they are missing both Charlie McAvoy and Derek Forbert from their lineup due to injuries. In their place are Ian Mitchell and Mason Lohrei, both with an even rating after tonight’s game and 19 and 17 minutes of time on ice, respectively. The Bruins are also missing center Pavel Zacha, giving the goal-scorer Morgan Geekie the opportunity to play on a higher line and elevate this game while Oscar Steen centers the fourth line in his place.
The Bruins play next on Friday night at 7:30 in an away matchup against the New York Islanders.

Black Tie
Tumblr media
Pairing: Connor McDavid x reader
Type: Fluff
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1.1k
Summary: Every once in a while there was a black tie event hosted by the team that Connor had to attend. As a member of the Oilers organization you also had to attend. You and Connor both hated fake sipping champagne and talking to people you hardly knew. For the past two years that similarity drew you to each other. This year, though, had Connor feeling flirty.
Request: Request #29 with Connor McDavid? 👉🏼👈🏼 (from anon)
Fluff Prompt #29: “Who gave you permission to go out in public looking like that?”
~~~~
It was nearing the point in the evening when your social battery was dangerously close to zero. Like, blinking red about to be stranded in the middle of the ocean with no life preserver, dangerously close to zero. And if you knew Connor McDavid as well as you thought you did, his would be in the danger zone too.
“That time of the night, Y/N?” Zach chirped as you walked past him. You shot him a look and playfully flipped him off as you continued on your way to what would become your safe corner for the night. You sat down and tried your best to look like you didn’t want to jump out the window.
“I see the clock has struck midnight for the both of us,” the voice of your fellow introvert Connor McDavid had you genuinely smiling for the first time all night.
“Thank god,” you sighed as he sat down at the table across from you, placing his drink down in front of him. “It looks like you lasted longer than me this year.”
“I actually think we both tapped out at the same time,” Connor said, looking around for any sponsors he might have to hide from. “There are times I rethink my career choice and this is one of them.”
“Yeah,” you agreed, making eye contact with him. Like always, your stomach fluttered. “This industry isn’t the best if you’re not an extrovert.”
“I genuinely have no idea how Leon does it,” Connor said, looking over to see Leon Draisaitl in the middle of the room somehow managing three different conversations and one of them was in German. “Man is a god.”
“He has to be,” you agreed, shaking your head in awe. “There is literally no other explanation.”
Connor laughed and took a sip of his drink. He swallowed before turning his gaze onto you. Your cheeks heated up to the point you would have sworn your face was literally glowing.
“So what was the conversation that did you in?” with his question the party around you seemed to melt away.
“New camera equipment, believe it or not,” you answered.
“Really?” Connor was surprised. “I thought you loved getting new gear?”
“I do, believe me I do,” you worked for the Edmonton Oilers’ media department. Getting new gear before a season was like Christmas. “But there was just something about it tonight that I could not sit through.”
“Business conversations are the worst,” Connor agreed. “I couldn’t even explain what the one I just abandoned was about. I think it was skate laces? I don’t even know.”
“Who knew these black tie events could be so goddamn boring,” you said, eliciting a laugh from Connor.
“Agreed.”
Connor thought for a second before speaking again. He wasn’t sure if it was the amount of drinks he’d had at the party or if it was something else, but he had a little extra courage that had his threshold for stupidity so far up it was in danger of becoming part of the ballroom ceiling.
“Hey, wanna leave?”
“I’m sorry?” you looked at him in shock. You had been to countless of events like these and ended up in this scenario countless of times before but not once had Connor proposed the idea of ditching. “I know you won’t get fired but I still have my job to worry about.”
“Oh don’t worry about it,” Connor said as he stood up. Oh. He was serious. “If someone gives you a hard time just point them in my direction. I’ll say you were feeling sick and since I was with you you just asked me to take you home.”
“Alright, I guess that’s believable enough,” you answered and took his hand, allowing him to help you up from your seat.
500th
Tumblr media
Pairing: David Pastrnak x reader
Type: Smut
Warnings: Oral (f+m receiving), fingering, swearing, protected sex, hair pulling kink, cockwarming 18+ ONLY
Word Count: 1.1k
Summary: You knew David was close to 500 career points, but you didn't expect him to reach that milestone in his first game back after being out for three weeks. The good mood he was in when he got home somehow became an even better mood when he saw you in nothing but a pair of heels and his jersey.
Smut Prompt #8: “A beautiful sight, you wearing nothing but my jersey waiting for me”  Smut Prompt #15: “Pull my hair”
A/N: I guess this is a part two to 200th. Also i am on my knees for pasta, literally would do anything for him
~~~~
David hummed to himself as he unlocked the apartment door and let himself in. He was in a good mood. His first game back after being injured against Detroit could not have gone better. He didn't expect to score the first goal of the game, but when you’re David Pastrnak anything can happen apparently.
That anything can include coming home to seeing your girlfriend laying in the middle of your bed wearing nothing but a very sexy pair of heels and your jersey. David dropped his bag on the floor, his jaw hanging open. He shamelessly raked his eyes up and down your body.
“What’s all this?” he asked once he found his voice.
“You had a big game,” you responded in the best sultry voice you could muster. “I thought you deserved a little reward.”
“A reward?” David hummed, a smirk pulling at the corners of his lips. He took a couple steps forward and knelt on the bed beside you. His finger tips lightly skimmed over your ankle. “A beautiful sight, you wearing nothing but my jersey waiting for me.”
“I thought you might like it,” you responded, pushing yourself to sit up and meet his lips. David kissed you fervently. You moaned against him, hand coming to cup the back of his head and hold him in place.
You used the leverage you had gained against him to flip him onto his back.
“What’s all this?” he asked, tucking his arm behind his head and watching you get to work unbuttoning his pants.
“You know how a milestone gets rewarded by now,” you smirked, pulling his pants and boxers down. His dick, hard and red, slapped against his stomach. David’s muscles tightened as the cool air of the room touched his tip.
You licked your lips, practically able to see his dick throbbing with want. The man was insatiable, and you were fully prepared to have a long night.
“Y/N, don’t just fucking look at it do something,” David’s voice was strangled.
“As you wish.”
He moaned, loud and long as you licked a thick stripe up the underside of his dick along the vein. He gathered your hair in a ponytail and gripped it tight. You brought your mouth down on him, taking as much as you could. His moans were music to your ears as you bobbed your head up and down. You hollowed your cheeks every once in a while, making him moan a little louder each time.
You knew David’s body so well that you could bring him to the edge and back three times before he started to get frustrated. And it wasn’t through his voice that you knew he was getting frustrated. It was when his hips would not stay still. He kept squirming, trying to find the right position in order to get some sort of relief. But every time he did you changed what you were doing.
It wasn’t until he gripped your hair a little bit tighter that you finally took pity on him. You gripped the base of his dick and gave him short but firm squeezes and alternated between gently sucking his tip and giving him little kitten licks. David’s stomach tightened as he came. His eyes screwed shut and he let out a strangled moan.
“Congratulations, baby,” your voice was hoarse as you crawled back up his body to whisper in his ear.
“You are going to be the fucking death of me,” David all but growled. He kissed you passionately, his lips claiming you as his own. You whimpered and let him push you onto your back. His hands traced your sides before reaching the hem of the jersey. He lifted it over your hips
“David,” you whimpered, snaking your hand into his hair as he lifted your legs onto his shoulders. You felt his breath on your dripping pussy before you felt his tongue. You jumped at the contact before allowing yourself to relax into his ministrations.
He knew your body as well as you knew his. It made sex that much more pleasurable. You squirmed as he switched between licking and sucking your clit and blowing cool air on it. He threw his arm over your hips to keep you still. You moaned louder than you had since he started and tugged on your hair.
David emitted a sound you’d never heard come from him before. He pulled away from your clit and looked up at you with dark, hooded eyes.
“Pull my hair,” he commanded. You shuddered at the sound of his voice but gave the roots of his hair another yank nonetheless. His eyes rolled back and his muscles tightened. “Fuck.”

Friend From College
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jeremy Swayman x reader
Type: Fluff
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: Swearing
Summary: Jeremy was quickly adopted by his new Bruins teammates. And that comes with being harassed by Brad Marchand and eventually Nick Foligno until you invite your closest friend down to Boston during Christmas break to meet your new teammates.
Request: Can you do 4 and 43 from fluff with swayman thank you in advance (from anon)
Fluff Prompt #4: “Is that my sweatshirt?” Fluff Prompt #43: “Will you two just kiss already?”
~~~~
Jeremy took a deep breath before walking into the locker room. For the past weeks, ever since Nick Foligno had walked in on him on FaceTime with you, he had been harassed about when he was “going to introduce us to your girlfriend, Swayman?” He was going to need all the luck he could get being around the team whenever there was even half a moment of silence.
“Good practice, Sway,” Patrice greeted him with a nod. Jeremy’s shoulders relaxed. Bergy was one of the only ones to not give him a hard time. Although he didn’t exactly take steps to stop the heckling whenever it started.
“Thanks,” Jeremy returned the greeting, taking a sip of his Dunkin coffee.
“Oh, hey, I have an extra ticket to the game tomorrow if you want it, Stephanie said she’d reserve the seat beside her,” Bergy said before leaving.
“Oh, sure,” Jeremy smiled. “Thanks, Cap.”
“No problem,” Patrice gave Sway a subtle wink before walking out to the equipment room.
Jeremy groaned. He knew exactly who Patrice wanted him to give that ticket to. But you were still in Maine with your family, you wouldn’t want to make that drive all the way down to Boston just for a hockey game. But then again, it was worth at least giving you a call, right?
“If I don’t call her they’re never going to let me forget it,” he sighed and picked up his phone, knowing that if one of the friends he’d made in Boston showed up tomorrow night with that ticket he would never live it down. He was pretty sure their next steps were going to be going through his phone, finding your number, calling you themselves, and telling you they thought Jeremy liked you. And he could never live with himself if that happened.
“Y/N! Your phone is ringing!” your little cousin yelled from the basement. You downed the rest of the drink in your glass before jogging down the stairs.
“Hello?” you answered, not even bothering to glance at the caller ID.
“Y/N!” Jeremy’s cheery voice was on the other end of the line. You smiled to yourself as you stepped into the toy closet to get away from the noise your younger family members were making.
“Thank god you called me,” you sighed. “I’m hiding from the kids. You gotta get me outta here, Jeremy.”
Jeremy’s chest warmed.
“Well lucky for you Bergy just offered me a ticket for the game tomorrow night if you want to come down,” he said, applauding himself for the smooth offer. He knew, though, that if any one of the guys walked in he would instantly crumble.
“Oh my god, please,” you were relieved. “I’m gonna drive down right now. Jeremy you have no idea how happy I am to get out of this reunion.”
“Anything for you, Y/N,” he said. “Let me know when you’re thirty minutes out. You can just come straight to my apartment, I’ll send you the address.”
“You’re a legend, Sway,” you said before hanging up and walking back up stairs.
“Who was that sweetie?” your mom asked as you reached for your keys.
“Jeremy,” you responded. “He invited me to the game tomorrow night. I’m gonna drive down this afternoon. I should be at his place by like eight. I’ll be back here on Monday.”
“Have fun!” she told you as you walked out the door, knowing you were going to take any escape you could to get away from the extended family in town for the weekend no matter what she said.
Jeremy was thankful that his mom forced him to buy one extra set of sheets than he thought he needed when he got home after practice. He was also thankful for his real estate agent for persuading him to get an apartment with a guest room. He set up the guest room before settling down on the couch.
My #1 post of 2022
Bloodied and Bruised
Tumblr media
Pairing: Matthew Tkachuk x reader
Type: Fluff
Warnings: Injury
Summary: Matthew wasn’t usually accident prone, but this morning’s practice had him beat up in more than one way. He’d taken a puck to the knee, causing him to limp for the rest of the day. And he’d gotten an accidental high stick to the face, causing a small but nasty cut just above his eyebrow. You knew it was bothering him more than usual after he begged you to stay with him.
Request: Hi can you write a Matthew Tkachuk imagine with the prompts 37 and 63 from your list where he had a rough practice and gets injured and you help bandage him up. You want to be there for him even though he usually keeps to himself but this time he needs comfort from his girlfriend with some cuddling please. Thank you! (from anon)
Fluff Prompt #37: “Quit being such a baby and let me put a new Band-Aid on your face” Fluff Prompt #63: “Can you- do you want to- please stay with me, I don’t want to be alone”
~~~~
The front door creaked, announcing Matt’s arrival home from practice. You grinned and hastily wiped your hands on the towel you had over your shoulder before tossing it down to the island. When you saw Matt standing at the end of the hallway, shoulders slumped and head down, you knew something was wrong.
“Matty, baby,” you hummed, brows furrowing in concern as you walked up to him. “What happened?”
“Got a little banged up,” he mumbled. You cupped your hand around his jaw and moved his head so you could get a close look at the cut above his eyebrow. A small white Band-Aid was overing it, but a few drops of blood had already seeped through it.
“I’m sorry, baby,” you wrapped your arms around his waist, expecting him to push you away like he always did when he was injured. But instead he melted into you, letting his head droop to your shoulder and his hands resting lightly on your hips. You knew the injury was bothering him.
“You’re really warm,” he said, his voice muffled by your hoodie.
“Come on, baby,” you took his hand and pulled him down the hallway to your bedroom. He followed like a puppy dog. You sat him down on the edge of the bed and went to retrieve the first-aid kit from where you’d stashed it under the sink.
“What are you doing?” he asked as he watched you open it and pull out a package of Band-Aids.
“Changing that Band-Aid,” you answered, flicking your eyes up to his cut. “There’s blood coming through it, if you keep it on it’ll get infected.”
Matt pouted up at you.
“Quit being such a baby and let me put a new Band-Aid on your face,” you said, crossing your arms over your chest. Matt smirked and kept his eyes on you as you carefully peeled off the white Band-Aid and replaced it with one of the new ones.
“All better?” he asked.
“All better,” you nodded and placed a gentle kiss over the Band-Aid.
You turned around, ready to head back to the kitchen to finish making the mac n’ cheese you had started, when Matt’s hand latched around your wrist. You turned around, eyebrow raised in question.
“Can you- do you want to- please stay with me, I don’t want to be alone,” he muttered, hanging his head. Your heart panged. There must have been something more to his injuries acquired at practice that a cut over his eye.
“Did something else happen?” you asked, sitting down on the bed beside him.
“It’s nothing,” he tried shrugging it off. “I just took a puck to the knee, that’s all. It’s not a big deal.”
You watched as he pulled up the leg of the shorts he was wearing. An ugly purple bruise was starting to get darker.
“I’m gonna go get you an ice pack,” you said, leaving before he got the chance to protest. When you got back you found his curled up in bed, cuddling a pillow.
A smile shadowed your lips as you placed the ice pack on the bruise that was slowly forming on his left knee. The second Matt felt you near him he tossed aside the pillow and wrapped his arms around you instead.
Matty was usually like a porcupine when he was injured, never wanting people around him. You had no idea what caused this change in him but you liked it and you didn’t want it to go back to the way it was. He almost never let you play with his curls but now he was humming in contentment as you raked your fingers through his hair and twisted the curls around your fingers.

I've been having fun with NHL goalie save percentages, because that's the sort of mental math I like to do. Percentages and fractions are really fun for me.
The hockey season just started here in North America about ten days ago, and most teams have played about five or six games so far. Under normal circumstances, one goalie will play each whole game, three 20-minute periods on the clock, although with penalties and intermissions and commercial breaks, actually watching a game takes close to three hours.
Leia's team is the Maple Leafs, and she's very fond of their newly hired Russian goalie, Ilya Samsonov, who's played four of the Leafs' six games this season because their other starting goalie is out with an injury. The Leafs have won all four of those games, and they lost the two played by other goalies. If Samsonov doesn't get injured, which is always a question in a game where extremely hard rubber projectiles come flying at your face at 90 miles an hour, he has the potential to be one of the best investments the Leafs have made in years.
(They haven't won the playoffs since 1967. They need some good investments.)
So, being primarily a defense player myself (in soccer, when I was abled enough to play, but a goalie's a goalie, more or less), I have promptly begun developing Opinions on goalies, and today I looked up the current stats rankings for all 63 NHL goalies to see how Samsonov measures up.
The main stats I'm looking at are "goals against average", or the average number of goals per game that each goalie has had scored against him this season, and "save percentage", or the number of shots against him that the goalie has stopped / kept out of his team's goal. It's called a percentage, but it's actually written as a 3-place decimal, which irritates me in ways that only a math nerd can truly understand.
Anyway, the highest ranked goalie in the NHL is Chicago's Alex Stalock, with a .979 save percentage across two games right now (one win, one loss, which just goes to show that even an insanely good goalie can't keep you from losing *all* the time) and a 0.75 GAA, which... I'm not sure how that works, because it suggests that he allowed half a goal at some point in one of those two games. Anyway, we hate Chicago as a team because they have a problem where they don't do anything about sexual assault issues, and another problem where they have one of those racist Native American mascot logos, so I don't quite care enough to try to figure that out.
The *lowest* ranked goalie this season by save percentage is Vitek Vanecek of the New Jersey Devils, who has an abysmal-for-the-NHL .773 over one game (which the Devils lost). I spent an enjoyable time reducing some fractions this evening and figured out that if you put Stalock and Vanecek each in front of a goal and had players take 50 shots at each of them, and if they performed exactly according to these numbers, Stalock would allow just one goal while Vanecek would allow twelve and a half.
(Vanecek's actual goals against average is 5, which leads me to believe the rest of the Devils in that losing game were good enough to only allow 20 shots against him.)
Vanecek doesn't even have the worst GAA in the NHL right now -- he's fifth from the bottom. Hilariously, Minnesota's two goalies are both ranked below him, which tells you what sort of a year Minnesota is having. The very worst is Boston's Jeremy Swayman with 5.41 in a game and two-thirds -- I think there has to be some sort of proration going on with these averages when a goalie plays a partial game, maybe? Yeah, Stalock only played a game and a third based on time, if I'm reading this right, which would shake out correctly for the math if he allowed exactly one goal in that time.
So how does Samsonov stack up? Really damn well, so far. He's undefeated 4 and 0, along with just four other guys so far -- one of whom, Boston's Linus Ullmark, played the last third of the Boston loss that gets listed as Swayman's, so there's that.
Samsonov's save percentage, as of the Leafs' win against the Jets tonight, is a very respectable .938, meaning that if you added him to our hypothetical lineup of goalies fielding fifty shots apiece, he'd only allow three goals. His actual GAA is 1.73 (the Leafs had a few minutes of overtime the other night, which I'm assuming is why it's not a 1.75), because the Leafs tend to allow right around thirty shots on goal per game.
Compared to the rest of the league, Samsonov is ninth from the top by save percentage. He just leapfrogged about four guys tonight, and another good night could see him jumping significantly further in that ranking.
By goals against average, Samsonov ranks just fifth, and all four of the guys above him are also ranked higher in save percentage. However, only one, Dallas's Jake Oettinger, is also undefeated 4 and 0. (There's also a 3/0 and a 1/0 on the list, and Alex Stalock is 1/1, having managed to chalk up a loss to the Vegas Golden Knights by allowing a single goal.)
Course, it's early days, and hockey is a blood sport -- fifteen of the NHL goalies have only played a single game so far, some of them due to injury, some presumably due to terrible performance. Fourteen more have only played two games. The numbers are going to get shaken up severely over the 82 total games of the regular season. But I'm having fun doing math ^_^

Andy's Happily Ever After Master List
Tumblr media
Welcome to my little corner of the world!
I’m Andy (obviously)
Thanks for stopping by! 🤗
I write mostly Chris/Chris characters with the occasional Sebastian/Sebastian Character in there. I am a FIRM believer in the HEA so most of the endings are this way. Doesn't mean i don't love the angst I'm just frustrated that we almost get there and then don't so I make my works happy (for the most part.) Most of my works can be located in Wattpad but I have been slowly spreading all my shenanigans here. I'll update this as i can.
Oh yeah, before i forget, i do take requests or ideas. I do also do fluff not just smut. And i have a few new shots coming as well as a series. I've put that in my coming soon section.
Also. This is an 18+ blog. I’m told I needed to add this. Children begone with you!

Cassidy Gets 200th Win As Bruins Hang On To Win Physical Game
 The bruins went into tonight’s game with a 5-4-0 record. The visiting Ottawa Senators were entering the game with a record of 3-8-1. This was Ottawa’s 1st visit to Boston since November 2, 2019, a game which the bruins won 5-2. The bruins starter for the night was Jeremy Swayman. His season record entering the contest was 2-2-0. His counterpart for Ottawa was Matt Murray, who’s season record was 0-3-0. Making their NHL debut for Ottawa was Egor Sokolov, a 2020 2nd round pick.
  The bruins started the game very physically but unfortunately, the senators struck first early. After a turnover in front of Swayman, Zach Sanford buried the puck in the open net off the rebound from Brady Tkachuk’s initial shot. The goal came at 1:14. A few minutes later, Swayman shut down Alex Formenton on a shorthanded breakaway but the bruins would then find themselves shorthanded as Charlie McAvoy would go to the box followed by a controversial call on Charlie Coyle. In the final minute, the bruins would get some good chances but in the end, the opening frame would end with a score of 1-0 Ottawa.
  The Second period saw much more action. The bruins tied the game on the powerplay when a David Pastrňák shot deflected in off Brad Marchand, who was waiting at the goal mouth at 5:12. Charlie McAvoy got the secondary assist. Boston would then take the lead when Derek Forbort wristed the puck past Murray’s glove at 10:58. Charlie Coyle and Taylor Hall got the assists on his goal. However, at 13:09 of the period, Nikita Zaitsev would make it even at 2 with assists from Logan Shaw and Thomas Chabot. After a big hit on Chabot along the boards, Pastrňák almost made it 3-2 but Murray made a big stick save. There was then another big open ice hit by Josh Brown on Trent Frederic. With 1:30 left, after helping to stop a breakaway from Alex Formenton, Connor Clifton and Formenton dropped the gloves. After the fight, Patrice Bergeron banked a shot in off of Murray at 18:40. The assists were from Pastrňák and McAvoy. The period ended 3-2 Boston.
  Trent Frederic (upper body) did not return to the game after the second period. There were a couple more big hits in this period. First Charlie McAvoy made a big hit on Zach Sanford along the boards. A few minutes later, during a delayed penalty call, Curtis Lazar flattened Erik Brännström, after which both teams briefly came together. With less than 2 minutes left in regulation, the senators pulled Murray and immediately afterward, Jeremy Swayman had to make a big save before Pastrňák iced it on an empty netter attempt. The bruins would hang on to win this one 3-2 and Jeremy Swayman would remain undefeated at home. This also marked Bruce Cassidy’s 200th win as the head coach of the bruins.

The top 75 players to watch in NCAA hockey
News
The men’s season begins soon, so our prospect expert is counting down all the players with bright futures. If you like mobile defensemen, this is your year

Another NCAA men’s season is upon us and once again, I had too many names for my top-75 list. But that’s a good problem to have because it means the level of talent in the college game is still going strong. This year seems particularly fun if you like skilled defensemen and the top name on the list should be no surprise.
Once again, here are my rules for the rankings: These are the top 75 players I am excited to watch for this season. I skew towards freshmen and sophomores because they are new and tend to have higher upsides. I almost exclusively list players drafted by NHL teams already (or kids who are up for the draft this year), but I have included a couple top free agents to keep an eye out for. I do not try to be fair in terms of how many schools are included – though if I’m not mistaken, the Atlantic Hockey conference gets its first shout-out this year. But it was earned. Also, I’m not trying to be fair in terms of NHL rights. Philly, New Jersey and Vegas all seemed to do well this year, but again; those franchises just drafted players I’m interested in. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the list.
Quinn Hughes, Michigan: The masterfully mobile defenseman and Vancouver Canucks first-rounder has a national championship on his mind and should be a Hobey Baker favorite.
Cale Makar, UMass: Another ultra-skilled defenseman, the top Colorado Avalanche prospect is likely going pro as soon as the Minutemen are done this year.
Oliver Wahlstrom, Boston College: The freshman winger brings a ton of scoring power to the Eagles and represents part of the New York Islanders’ great 2018 draft class.
K’Andre Miller, Wisconsin: Two-way skill and great athleticism make Miller one of the most intriguing freshmen in the country. The New York Rangers nabbed the D-man in the first round.
Scott Perunovich, Minnesota-Duluth: He led the Bulldogs to a national title last year, so what does the mobile D-man do for an encore? That’s the fun surrounding the St. Louis Blues pick.
Cayden Primeau, Northeastern: My pick for last year’s most pleasant surprise, Primeau was one of the best goalies in the college game. Now the Montreal Canadiens pick returns with a possible world junior spot in line.
Jay O’Brien, Providence College: The Philadelphia Flyers went high on O’Brien in the 2018 draft, now the prep school center gets a chance to use his two-way game against top competition in Hockey East.
Ryan Poehling, St. Cloud State: He used to be the youngest, now he’ll be one of the most effective. The Montreal Canadiens pick is a great two-way center.
Riley Tufte, Minnesota-Duluth: Raw when the Dallas Stars drafted him, the 6-foot-6 left winger should be an all-out force up front for the defending champs as a junior.
Ben Brinkman, Minnesota: Not many true freshmen roam college bluelines, but Brinkman has the skill and composure to make it happen. He’s up for the 2019 draft.
Wade Allison, Western Michigan: Coming off a serious knee injury, the talented power forward is crucial to the Broncos’ success. He’s a Philadelphia Flyers pick.
Ian Mitchell, Denver: Fantastic freshman campaign saw the smart, offensively-inclined blueliner put up 30 points for the Pioneers. With a lot of talent gone, they’ll need the Chicago Blackhawks pick.
Reilly Walsh, Harvard: The New Jersey Devils drafted him as a raw puckmover but Walsh put up 20 points as a freshman. He’ll be even better as a sophomore, which is scary.
Sampo Raanta, Minnesota: Incoming freshman has electric speed and a great shot. Originally committed to Wisconsin, the left winger and Colorado Avalanche pick could make noise with the Gophers.
Benton Maass, New Hampshire: The sophomore offensive defenseman got off to a hot start as a frosh; can the Washington Capitals pick hit another level this year?
Will Lockwood, Michigan: Injuries have plagued his NCAA tenure, but a healthy Lockwood would be huge for the Wolverines. The Vancouver Canucks pick is a tenacious two-way threat.
Jack McBain, Boston College: Jumping from Ontario Jr. A to Hockey East will be a challenge for the Minnesota Wild pick, but the big body and scoring potential makes him intriguing.
Morgan Barron, Cornell: One of the bigger surprises in college last year, big Barron put up nice offense and will contribute more as a sophomore. He’s a New York Rangers pick.
Jack Dugan, Providence College: A late-bloomer who tore up the USHL last season, Dugan is a Vegas Golden Knights prospect with skill and great skating acumen.
Filip Larsson, Denver: Starts the season on the shelf, but once he’s healthy, the Detroit Red Wings pick will give the Pioneers great protection in the crease. Larsson was a beast in the USHL last year.
Ruslan Iskhakov, UConn: A smaller right winger with a dynamic skill set, Iskhakov makes his North American debut this year. He’s a New York Islanders pick that continues UConn’s Euro pipeline.
Logan Hutsko, Boston College: Another breakout player from 2017-18, Hutsko returns to the Eagles as a Florida Panthers draft pick. Ultra-skilled, the center has already conquered some big injuries.
Shane Bowers, Boston U: Ottawa fans are already wincing that Bowers went to Colorado in the Matt Duchene trade. The all-around center finished third in Terriers scoring last season as a freshman.
Jeremy Davies, Northeastern: Part of that wicked Huskies team that won the Beanpot, Davies is a talented offensive defenseman who can really move the puck. He’s a New Jersey Devils selection.
Blake McLaughlin, Minnesota: A home state kid who blitzed the USHL last season, McLaughlin is an Anaheim Ducks pick with great hockey IQ and puckhandling skills on the wing.
Jonny Tychonick, North Dakota: The brash and talented Ottawa Senators pick can really make things happen with the puck on his stick and he’ll be a great addition to the North Dakota blueline.
Jacob Bernard-Docker, North Dakota: The yin to Tychonick’s yang (they’re buddies), JBD is also an Ottawa Senators selection, but he brings more of a two-way game to the back end.
Brandon Kruse, Bowling Green: The talented, playmaking left winger was a revelation for the Falcons in his freshman year, finishing second in team scoring. The Vegas Golden Knights snapped him up in the draft.
Jeremy Swayman, Maine: Shocked many when he elbowed his way onto Team USA’s world junior squad. But the talented netminder and Boston Bruins pick had a .921 save percentage for Maine as a freshman.
Josh Norris, Michigan: Now an Ottawa Senators prospect thanks to the Erik Karlsson trade, Norris brings great athleticism and a two-way game. The sophomore will be key for a Michigan team trying to make noise again.
Mario Ferraro, UMass: The other talented and mobile sophomore on the Minutemen blueline, Ferraro is a San Jose Sharks pick. He actually had more points than Makar last year, albeit in more games played.
Aarne Talvitie, Penn State: This is a real personal fave because Talvitie was great at the 2017 world junior summer showcase. Now, the skilled and sturdy Finn comes to North America. He’s a New Jersey Devils pick.
Demetrios Koumontzis, Arizona State: Returning to the state he played two years of U16 hockey in, Koumontzis is a Calgary Flames pick with a dynamic skill set. The left winger played Minnesota high school hockey last year.
Adam Fox, Harvard: His rights have been traded to Carolina and it’s hard to see Fox coming back for a senior year, so this could be the last stand for the smart blueliner with great power play skills.
Clayton Phillips, Minnesota: The talented puckmover jumped into the NCAA early when the Gophers needed him last season, now the Pittsburgh Penguins prospect will return for his first full campaign.
Mikey Anderson, Minnesota-Duluth: Part of the Bulldogs’ excellent defense corps, Anderson has high hockey IQ and doesn’t make many mistakes. He’s a Los Angeles Kings selection.
Peter DiLiberatore, Quinnipiac: The Bobcats have a lot of youngsters coming in and DiLiberatore brings tons of potential to the defense thanks to his skating ability. He’s a Vegas Golden Knights pick.
Max Gildon, New Hampshire: The big, talented Florida Panthers pick had a great freshman campaign for the Wildcats. Gildon led the defense in scoring and finished second overall on the team with 23 points.
Wyatt Kalynuk, Wisconsin: Maybe a bit under the radar, but Kalynuk is coming off a great freshman campaign that saw the Philadelphia Flyers pick lead the Badgers defense in scoring.
Jakov Novak, Bentley: The first Bentley kid ever to make this list, Novak is a big, powerful dude who also had Michigan interested in his services. The left winger was selected by the Ottawa Senators this summer.
Nicky Leivermann, Notre Dame: An offensive defenseman who played with Casey Mittelstadt in high school, Leivermann is a Colorado Avalanche pick coming off a solid BCHL campaign.
Jack Gorniak, Wisconsin: A rarity in that he was drafted straight out of Wisconsin high school, Gorniak is a Montreal Canadiens pick who brings great energy and speed up front to the lineup.
Slava Demin, Denver: The two-way defenseman helped Wenatchee win the BCHL championship last year and now he’s headed to Denver. Demin was drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights.
Tanner Laczynski, Ohio State: A talented producer with a lot of grit, Laczynski had 47 points as a sophomore, so expect more big numbers from the Philadelphia Flyers pick this season.
Jack Adams, Union: The 6-foot-5 right winger will get more dangerous as his college career progresses and his frame fills out. Big-time scorer in the USHL is a Dutchmen sophomore and Detroit Red Wings pick.
Dylan Samberg, Minnesota-Duluth: Big defenseman who can skate still developing his offensive game, but it’s hard to beat the experience of a national title as a freshman. He’s a Winnipeg Jets pick.
Jack Rathbone, Harvard: Modern-style offensive defenseman enters his first year of college after a great prep career at Dexter. Rathbone is a Vancouver Canucks pick.
Mattias Samuelsson, Western Michigan: He’s got size, smarts and an NHL pedigree thanks to father Kjell. Look for Samuelsson to be solid for the Broncos as a freshman. Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres.
Jake Oettinger, Boston U: Could have gone pro this summer, but Oettinger is back in net for the Terriers with team glory on his mind. The Dallas Stars pick is big, cool, and he controls his rebounds.
Jachym Kondelik, UConn: Another European on his way to Storrs, Kondelik is a beguiling 6-foot-7 center with nice hands who just needs to iron out his skating. The Nashville Predators took him in the 2018 draft.
Matej Tomek, Nebraska-Omaha: After a false start with North Dakota, Tomek is back in college with the Mavericks, where he’ll get the chance to reprove himself. He’s a Philadelphia Flyers selection.
Jacob Bryson, Providence College: The Buffalo Sabres pick is a smaller playmaking defenseman who wore a letter as a sophomore and returns as an alternate captain for his junior year with the Friars.
Spencer Stastney, Notre Dame: Another personal fave of mine, Stastney always seemed to make something happen when I watched him last year. The physical freshman D-man is a Nashville Predators pick.
David Hrenak, St. Cloud State: The big netminder logged world junior duty for Slovakia last year and the Los Angeles Kings nabbed him in the draft. Sophomore will be key for the Huskies.
Jon Gruden, Miami: The son of a coach (the hockey one), Gruden enters his freshman year with Miami as an Ottawa Senators draft pick. The left winger has smarts and nice offensive potential.
Chase Pearson, Maine: Named captain as a sophomore, the Detroit Red Wings prospect returns as junior with the ‘C’ on his jersey. Pearson blends size and skill to make things happen for the Black Bears.
Jack Drury, Harvard: Another kid with NHL pedigree (dad Ted and uncle Chris), Drury is a hard-working two-way center who enters his freshman year with the Crimson as a Carolina Hurricanes pick.
Jasper Weatherby, North Dakota: The big dude had a monster BCHL year for champion Wenatchee, averaging nearly two points per game in the playoffs. The late bloomer is a San Jose Sharks pick.
Joey Daccord, Arizona State: Let’s not sugar-coat it: Daccord faced a ton of shots last year and this season will likely be the same. Fortunately, the Ottawa Senators pick is pretty good at stopping them.
Jack St. Ivany, Yale: The talented, playmaking defenseman enters his first year with the Bulldogs after a nice USHL career. St. Ivany is a Philadelphia Flyers selection.
Noah Cates, Minnesota-Duluth: Another Philadelphia Flyers pick, Cates has great hockey smarts and will help the Bulldogs’ forward corps with his scoring potential.
Dante Fabbro, Boston U: This has gotta be Fabbro’s last year in the NCAA and the two-way defenseman will do so as captain of the Terriers. He’s a Nashville Predators pick.
Jordan Harris, Northeastern: A new-school offensive defenseman coming out of the prep ranks, Harris is a Montreal Canadiens selection who joins a Huskies team that still has talent, despite some attrition.
Linus Weissbach, Wisconsin: The quick and energetic winger from Sweden finished third in Badgers scoring as a freshman. Let’s see what the Buffalo Sabres pick can do as a sophomore.
Kale Howarth, UConn: He’s a towering specimen at 6-foot-5 on the left wing and coming off a solid campaign in the BCHL. Now we get to see what the Columbus Blue Jackets pick can do in Hockey East.
John Leonard, UMass: Under the radar in his USHL days, Leonard broke out as a freshman for the Minutemen and led them in scoring. That prompted the San Jose Sharks to scoop him up in the draft.
Andrew Peeke, Notre Dame: The two-way defenseman with great size returns to South Bend for his junior season and does so as captain. Peeke is a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect.
Keith Petruzzelli, Quinnipiac: Last year was a bit of a nightmare for the skyscraper goalie, but he was just a freshman. Now the Detroit Red Wings pick returns with a chance to make amends.
Tomas Vomacka, UConn: Adam Huska is still in town, so Vomacka will have to fight for starts, but the Nashville Predators pick has a pretty good resume of his own and the Huskies can run a platoon if need be.
Ty Taylor, New Hampshire: Under the radar, but Taylor put up excellent numbers for BCHL Vernon last season. The Tampa Bay Lightning drafted him and now the goalie heads to the Wildcats.
Jimmy Schuldt, St. Cloud State: A steady, two-way defenseman who will once again vie for the Hobey Baker, Schuldt is also a coveted free agent who turns pro this spring.
Nico Sturm, Clarkson: Another free agent that NHL teams are keeping an eye on, Sturm is a big, talented center and Clarkson’s new captain. He’s a junior this season.
Seth Barton, UMass-Lowell: A two-way defenseman with nice size, Barton joins the RiverHawks from the BCHL. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings after getting passed over in 2017.
Joseph Woll, Boston College: The Eagles netminder heads into the junior year of a pretty solid NCAA campaign and they’ll need him to use his size and talent again. Woll is a Toronto Maple Leafs pick.
Christian and Cole Krygier, Michigan State: They’re twins, so I’m cheating and putting them together. Christian (New York Islanders) and Cole (Florida) both play a rambunctious game on the blueline that will be fun for Spartans fans to watch.
