Dear #Churches, I know it's easier to talk about #breastcancer awareness versus domestic violence awareness. I know it's easier to pray for physical healing versus the spiritual and emotional healing we don't readily see or understand. I know we don't want to talk publicly about those things we only whisper about it. However, healing is available in all areas !!! We must break the stigma around advocating for #domesticviolence ! Will your church, congregation, fellowship or organization speak up, wave the banner and advocate for those silenced by domestic violence. Yes, even those in the Body of Christ ! 2 Sundays remain in this month of advocacy and awareness!!! I believe we're in a season where God is calling us to unbox our faith. Many us know a lot of religion. We know the right words, proper posture, most stirring conferences and the acceptable attire to present forms of godliness, but many are far from God. We know Big Momma's God and the way she did things, but when was the last time YOU stepped out of the familiar with your faith and experienced God in a new way? #Mentorship is an important part of continuous growth. Just because a person is an adult by legal terms does not mean the person is not in need of guidance from the wise. Titus 2 admonishes mature women to teach younger women the ways of Godly womanhood. I remember very vividly women, along with my mother who provided judgement-free wise counsel and many who do to this day. Because of them I am and now pass that wisdom on to other young women I mentor. There has been a breakdown in the natural progression of mentorship in our churches and communities. This week in what I'm calling #Titus2Talk, I will share my observations and possible solutions to help us close what I see as gaps. Mentorship is needed. God has given each of us a lane that comes with a flow, a pattern to the work He's called us into. When you're TRULY and FULLY in YOUR lane, you become laser focused without much regard to what others are doing or responding. When you study the ministry of Jesus there were many women involved in various positions. With these women, Jesus affirmed and confirmed who they were constantly. From his mother Mary to Priscilla, to The Woman at the Well, He constantly showed them how valuable they were. His love solidified their identity and significance. If he met the woman in sin or called out her sin, Jesus understood the importance of delivering all things in grace. Imagine a church where women are affirmed beyond traditional roles we've seen in times past. Women are a PRICELESS asset to the Body of Christ!
