Jikook Week 19 Complete ✔️(16/04 - 23/04/2024)

Their nineteenth week in the military is now complete and I have to say I'm missing them something chronic. Maybe celebrating this milestone with a look back at this week in 2021 will help.

BTS's performance of Dynamite for the 63rd Grammys on the 14 March 2021 was released on Bangtan TV on 21 April 2021.

Also this week, images from the MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E CONCEPT BOOK were released. These are some of the most delicious promo photos ever taken of jikook. Stunning stuff.

Run BTS Episode 138 came out on 22 April 2021. Olympic gold medalist, Ryu Seung Min came to help the members improve their table tennis skills. The day stretched over two episodes 138 and 139 both of which are included here.

There were two teams the Kims against the 3Js.

There was a short training period where we were gifted this hilarious jikook moment. Jimin baby, we saw what your did there!

Jikook were also caught in the background a few times just having fun in their own world.

Then it was on to the tournament. In the first round, Taehyung beat Jungkook, Jimin beat Namjoon and J-Hope won against Jin.

In the 2nd round Taehyung faced off against Jimin and J-Hope played against Namjoon (who was the winner of the runner up playoff). Tae and J-Hope both won and went onto the final. Watch it if you want to know who won.

V - Fri(end)s 2nd Concept Photos; is he telling us something?

Ok, I like the photos from this set and read all the theories that people have put out about this song. We have been told it is an English, sad, romantic, banger in the pop/r&b genre. With the video teaser it appears he may have ended a relationship (Jennie, Jimin, Jungkook, unknown person) and he is lonely at home and even in a crowd of people while sitting in a restaurant. The scene clearly showed a lesbian couple giving flowers and a hetero couple making out.

I find it interesting these photos show him casualty dressed in the restaurant holding the hands of both a woman and man. Then we have two photos of his backside. He has his hands placed on his butt checks as if he is spreading them in one of the photos.

Am I delulu thinking he is softly stating he is queer/bi/pan? His Layover album, in particular “Slow Dancing” showcased queer friends. If he is doing a soft coming out, I applaud his courage.

Have you spoken about your thoughts on jungkook using Jimin as his inspiration for his concept for seven or purposely trying to connect their concepts? Do you feel like trying to connect their solo work is too much?

How should I answer this? There is such a thing as inspiration. Artists get inspired by other artists or their work. Tarantino is such a good example (and basically every filmmaker, nothing exists in a vacuum, intertextuality/referentiality, etc). And they always make it their own. That's usually the case with art. Unless it's blatant plagiarism which is not the case for the situation we're talking about.

I think it has to do with current fashion trends right now and both Jimin and Jungkook choosing/agreeing to the latest trendy looks. Or working with similar teams? Coordinating together, talking business as colleagues too? Even Jimin took inspiration from Jungkook's hoodies when he designed his own for the merch project they had last year.

If indeed Jungkook was a lil copy cat for some concept photos, I bet Jimin teased him and did not see him as the enemy leech (I feel like puking just thinking about stupid solo stan language). I personally thought it was funny when I saw some similarities, made a few jokes and moved on. You know, like a well adjusted member of society.

I don't think the song Seven had anything to do with Like Crazy, Face or whatever other comparison was there. To me, it's all far fetched and unnecessary. Jungkook liked a song about fucking and thought this is his way of showing the world he is indeed a grown up and not some baby made to wear a bonnet at fansigns. Like, that's it. There's no endless layers of interpretation. I'm not wasting my time writing essay about mediocre songs. And I also won't force myself into believing or creating a connection between two songs if I don't believe there is one. There's plenty others who did it for their own reasons.

Not everything these people do must be about each other. It doesn't add or subtract from their personal relationship. I guess it's interpretation here and I can't argue with that, but I don't need to think that Seven is about Jimin or connected to Jimin's song just so I can add another piece to prove they might be fucking. There's plenty without, lol.
