Basically it was asked who made the most mistakes while filming the Fire MV, Jimin was voted the one who made the most mistakes and JK said he saw it alot when he was filming the part with the lighter when he goes "ow!" Jimin said he was shy so he was filming by himself and JK basically said he stuck around to watch his hyung lol while also teasing him just a little. Very cute! Serendipity

Serendipity is the occurrence of an unexpected and fortunate discovery that happens when you are looking for something else. It is the "happy or beautiful coincidence".

One of the most important serendipities in history is the discovery of penicillin, that happened when Fleming went on holiday and left behind a bacterial culture plate on which a fungus happened to be growing.

In the context of love, serendipity often manifests itself as meeting someone special in the most unexpected circumstances or finding love in someone unexpected. Perhaps you were expecting another thing to happen (like a strong friendship to grow?😏), but something else BEAUTIFUL occurred.

Jimin's Serendipity song is about a love that is born out of the unexpected and is so surprising that it is frightening.

It is very interesting to see that the song uses the concepts of destiny and serendipity (you are my penicillin), which are apparently opposed.

What we call "destiny" is a philosophical and existential concept that alludes to the belief that everything that happens in life happens inexorably and according to some kind of "plan". To believe in destiny is to believe that everything happening has some predetermined meaning and coherence, and that there is therefore little point in resisting it ("It was fate that led to this... that we crossed paths..., that we came this far... "🥰).

From the perspective of serendipity, what there is the happiness of having met in the midst of chaos, where it was highly unlikely that we would meet or spend enough time together to build a love story. There is no destiny, only the most beautiful coincidence.

I find interesting how the song mixed both philosophies. The lyrics talking about destiny, and what happened ...that must be "the providence of the universe"...

.. there’s a kind of “acceptance” that "It just had to be"... maybe because despite initial caution or opposition, there existed no alternative path for the souls involved but to inevitably fall in love.

Funny thing is to see that - as far as we know - these are the two visions that JK and Jimin have of their own lives ☺️ (One firmly believing in destiny and the other in building his own paths).

And you will say .... It's Namjoom who wrote the lyrics.

Yes, I know.

BUT....I really think that Jimin gave him certain hints of what he wanted to say, or alternatively… Namjoon already knew. Because this song is so Jikook coded.. Jimin (and Jungkook too) giving us some hints during years.

The first one was in Run episode 61 (which was recorded in summer 2018). BTS split into teams to compete for snacks and in the game Jimin and JK got the same score: 738.

Jungkook asked "Destiny?" (see where JK is going? 😊)

And Jimin replied "I told you, you are me, I am you".

When did he tell him?

Did we miss something?

Do you mean he told him so in the song?

Or did he tell him before, in 2016, when Zico released a song with that name (I am you, you are me) about love and destiny that Jungkook and him decided to pay homage to on a fansign?

At the beginning of 2016 Zico released the song 지코(ZICO) - 너는 나 나는 너 (I am you, you are me)

In his MV Zico appears visiting a convenience store, where the girl working there always happens to match clothes (LOL) with him. And in one of the last scenes, the two appear with a similar wound on their finger, and with matching band-aids.

And the lyrics...

So.. I am you, you are me

In Puma's April 2016 fansign, Jimin and JK appeared with matching Pororo’s bandaids on their fingers. And although some fans asked if they were injured, neither answered in that way. Jimin even admitted that he wore the bandaid because "the lil one" gave it to him.

The next time the two said the line to each other was on BTS Love Yourself Japan Dome Tour Documentary & Interview 2018 on TBS.....

Then Jungkook gave the only explanation we have so far... that Jimin was messing with his song the whole time....(???)

Jungkook made the finger gesture and Jimin finished the verse for him.

(I wonder if the finger gesture came about while Jimin was doing the choreo, as he has many moments where his finger stands alone... I'm already envisioning the scene where JK possibly walked over and...🥰🥰🥰🤡🤡🤡🤡)

That moment in the interview speaks for itself... but as usual, the members’ reaction reveal even more, if that's possible...😂😂

So….long story short….how much of a coincidence is there when...

1. Jimin said that he would give a song (as a gift) to the person he loves in the future…? (Jungkook being very “curious” about the answer 😉)

2. He doesn't let Jungkook visit him in the MV recording ... only to see later in the MV certain sus date 😶..?

3. He includes as part of his song the title from a love song that he and JK paid homage to a year ago…?

4. Jimin told Jungkook that line and makes it "the line" between them for years…?

5. Jungkook not only accepted it, but still sings and hums the song years later, as the precious gift it is…. ?

Jikook Week 23 Complete ✔️(14 - 21/05/2024)

Their twenty third week in the military is now complete and time to celebrate this milestone with a look back at this week in 2015.

It was The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 1 era and the lead single I Need You was being promoted on all the SK music shows.

On the 14th May they appeared on Mnet Countdown.

In researching these weekly blogs I keep finding out new things about South Korea. Did you know that Koreans celebrate THIRTEEN Valentine's Days and one of them is the 14th May known as Yellow Valentine's Day or Rose Day.

"On Yellow Day, singles who want to be in a relationship wear a yellow shirt and order a “yellow” curry at a restaurant as a symbolic gesture that encourages them to get rid of their “single status.” For those who already have a lover, they would instead celebrate Rose Day by exchanging roses."

On this day in 2015, Jimin sent a rose to ARMY, "I heard it's Rose Day today. I didn't have time, so I drew it in a hurry. Thank you so much ARMY for supporting us today too. Thank you every day, every day"

It was a week of non-stop fan signings and music show appearances. Fansignings - Wow look how young and adorable they were in 2015.

In addition to Mnet Countdown, they appeared on Arirang Simply Kpop, KBS Music Bank, MBC Music Core, SBS Inkigayo and Show Champion. They were burning the candle at both ends. V even admited that they were exhausted in this backstage segment from Show Champion.

The segment was called Loyal Boys and they had to choose someone else in the group to praise. Who does JK choose to praise....hmmm well no surprises there then.

Hello! How are you?😊 I'm kinda desperate because I've been searching for a very long time for a old jikook moment and I was wondering if you could help me, maybe you know about the video I'm looking for. I've been in the fandom since 2018 and there's a lot of videos that I've seen that were lost in time I remember I watched a video of a fansign where they are all sitting in a long table in front of army, the members were dressed in white and jm was leaning over the table with his elbows on it and talking with a mic to army. He asked them who are their bias and they shouted names, someone said jk and jm said jk is my bias too, isn't he handsome? I think the looks are from a fansign from 2015, maybe from the what's tasty in Busan event? or the one where jm has pink sleeves (short t-shirt) jm had brown hair. Sitting around the middle place of the table and jk was on some seat on his left, can't remember if he was next to him or some seats on his. I think I watched it in some Jkk compilation years back (2018/19) and maybe it was deleted or went private because it's very old😅

I hope you know about this moment too and you could help me, if not it's okey☺️

ugh that last ask was def in bad faith. been a tkker since 2015, fandom isn't a monolith and there's a lot of "narratives" out there, but tk have always been close and spent a ton of time together. the strangeness is that closeness used to be more obvious in official content and then when bts shot to even higher popularity instead of capitalizing on such a popular unit (jk and tae both had huge fanbases individually), BH seemed to pair them with other members. this is just as likely to further BH's OT7 stance (members rarely getting individual promos, no official solo/unit content other than free mixtapes, etc.) than to "hide" tk (also based on some stuff on X about jm akgaes in BH staff doing shady things, potentially other reasons that, again, have nothing to do with hiding tk). but tk have continued to be obviously close the entire time as long as you were paying attention (the way they talk/know things about each other, how they interact in unscripted content/bg shots, the off-screen hangouts, etc.) the joke about not being for the cameras started about them hoarding selcas instead of posting them and jk allegedly making a comment like that during a fansign event, so it just became a popular saying in the fandom. maybe newer tkkers took it too seriously but idts. if non-tkkers are only just noticing how close they are, how is that our problem?? guarantee zero tkkers are surprised by them spending time together, they just have more free time now to get papped, more access to social media other than a shared twt account, lack of official content during hiatus making non-tkkers pay attention to tk shenanigans, etc.

It's even more obvious in the follow-up essay that it was a bad faith attempt to educate me and other Taekookers while trying and failing to disguise it as an opening for genuine discussion. I've only seen a few of these in my inbox, but I've seen many of this type on Tumblr. Like I said, I do believe the "drought" is overexaggerated but it is true that after 2016 there was a noticeable change. Maybe it seems worse than it is to some because the company has gone all in on Jikook content. Before anyone comes for me over that, the travel show seals the deal once and for all on that issue. They are the most promoted as a duo. That's a fact, whatever you think that might say about them. But there's still plenty of Taekook in official content. I've said previously editing around them is a pretty common sense protective measure, and I'm absolutely fine with it. But they're not going to just cut them out entirely. Like you said, there are reasons for always putting them with a third member in photoshoots that would have nothing to do with hiding a relationship. Some. like previous anon, think that Taekook in solo era doesn't square with Taekook before solo era. Not because the circumstances changed or because their perceptions did, they seem to think Taekook changed. It's funny that chapter 1 and chapter 2 align just fine with what I believe about them, and that is the case for most Taekookers I know...but we're the ones whose thinking is flawed. They can't make sense of it. It makes perfect sense to me.

Just reminded me of why I muted the word selca on Twitter, like I did with "subunit". 😂 Yeah. some things get run into the ground and it still happens a lot. We'll see some really sweet Taekook interaction and people will start screaming about a selca, and I do think it's a joke for a some it's just so played out at this point. I wasn't really referring to the fansign story when I said their relationship still isn't for cameras, I meant it literally as a relationship not meant/conducted for cameras. Their private outings that Jkkrs try to say aren't private because sometimes they have friends along and don't know the many definitions of private that apply to their personal time, that's not for the cameras.

Oh they're trying to make it our problem. 😂 I am genuinely surprised by the amount of non-Taekookers I've seen actually acknowledge that Taekook are obviously the closest through solo era and be positive about it, but I still think the vast majority do not pay attention.

I was feeling bored and I remembered how there were hardcore vmin shipper blogs once so I went through the vmin tag, and boy was it fun! I haven't laughed so hard in a while.

I came across old posts and they were talking about how vmin being dry all those months and taehyung not posting anything for jimin just shows that he's serious about his relationship with jimin and is protecting their love. they talk about him protecting their "unscripted moments" (ahem👀) and how Jikook enlisting together "solidified" their beliefs that there's nothing romantic going on there because of the stress jm and jk would have to go through having to hide their relationship.

These are the same people who made speculations just like Taekookers about two years ago saying they wouldn't be surprised if Vmin enlisted together because they always choose each other. And now Jimin opting to enlist with someone who isn't taehyung "solifidies" their beliefs that he's not romantically involved with that person and makes them believe in vmin more.

They are really coping hard. And not them adopting taekookers' narrative about scripted moments and fanservice. It's the only way they can explain away what jimin and jungkook have been doing with each other so they can feel secure in their unrealistic ships. Jikook really got people jumping through mental loops and being shameless hypocrites. Jikook you will always be famous❤️.

I've always disliked Vminies more than taekookers because at least with taekookers they don't disguise just how delusional they are, but vminies have always acted so superior and had a "us vs them" mentality, always referring to Jikookers and taekookers as "those other shippers". They'd pride themselves on not being toxic and using things that Tae and jk actually said and did for each other to prove their ship, "unlike those other shippers". Which- fine, I'll give them that. But it doesn't seem vmin have been as close as before for a while now and they've started to grasp at straws, sounding exactly like the shippers they think they are better than. I've seen a "big" vmin account talk about how Tae and jm forgot people were present and lmost kissed at tae's fansign event💀. It's not obvious because they are very small in number, but vminies are exactly like taekookers. And both sides really have no shame with how they are currently dismissing Jikook's companion system enlistment when in the past both sides made speculations about their ships enlisting together and even saying they are sure they will enlist together IF bts don't get an exemption.

I wanna give myself a day off and dedicate that time to just going through years old posts from vminies (it's a pity most of them deactivated, like that motherfucker who used to call themselves @vmindrift and later changed their name to @romanticdrift. I wanna post screenshots on X and make them blow up so they'll get dragged. I know it's childish and petty but I want them to be brought down from their high horse since they always try to act so smart and think they are better than other shippers.

I could take this to a very in depth and deep place, but I'll try to keep it more contained. I'm still on vacation technically, but can't sleep amd im just enjoying streaming SMFpt2 so I'm trying to catch up on all I've ignored over here on tumblr. Sorry to keep you waiting for so long anon!

Basically, did RM make up the phrase "i am you, you are me" (or vice versa) and the first time we ever heard the phrase was in Serendipity? No. Lol it in fact has orgins in kpop previous to Serendipity in the song by Zico, "I am You, You are Me."

"I am You. You are Me" is also actually an ancient Mayan phrase, Essentially meaning "I am another yourself." It's basically used to describe being so similar to another person, it brings your connection closer and their is an ease of interaction and closeness there. For Mayans it was used as a way of honoring each other, as a statement of unity and oneness. It is not necessarily romantic in nature as a phrase. But both Zico and Jimin made it a very romantic connotation in their songs.

Anyway, back to Zico... he released this song in January of 2016. And "I am you, you are me" is literally the title. Lol so Serendipity does not have first claim to the phrase in kpop at all either. We also know that BTS has been on friendly terms with Block B (Zicos group) and that they worked together for MAMA back in 2014 too.

During his MV, Zico basically matches by accident with this girl over and over again and says they are therefore destiny. One of the ways they match is through both ending up wearing bandaids on their fingers, the same finger.

A few months later, at a fansign on 160402, Jikook were sitting next to each other and fans noticed they were wearing matching bandaids on the same hand. When a fan first noticed it on Jimin and asked about it, he said JK gave it to him. When a fan asked JK about it, he said he wasn't hurt and was just wearing it just because. Lol, it's a mystery. Why did JK decide to give a matching bandaid to Jimin? Why did Jimin just go along with it? (I know this one actually because his precious maknae gave him something, and Jimin has been whipped from the get-go. Lol) is it related to the MV and their first moment of acknowledging (or at least JKs first moment, I would fully believe Jimin just wore it because JK gave it to him, no questions asked lmfao) you are me, I am you? Who knows. Or maybe it was just coincidence of timing and still JK being flirty in his own goofball odd way that no one but himself probably understood. Lol but regardless, there is that connection there. Maybe intentional, maybe not. We will never know.

Neither were hurt. So just a random little matching moment with cutesy bandaids courtesy of Jungkook. Just because. 😂 (also catch them in that black and white fit. For them to later on in the years get dubbed the black and white couple as a nickname lol).

ANYWAYS back to Serendipity, after it released and became the icon queen she is. Jikook fully adopted that song as their own and the first moment of them verbally going "I am you. You are me" happened in a run bts episode....

And has since therefore continued consistently over the years with them. They sing it from Serendipity to each other too, not just saying the phrase. That is THEIR SONG. Which is an inherently romantic song, and therefore gives the phrase that romantic connotation in the way that they are using it. In my opinion.

So were jikook using it before Serendipity, depends on what you think of the whole bandaid incident. Lol but not really. Were the rest of BTS saying it pre-Serendipity? Not really that we know of either. And while they may say it now, they say it differently then jikook do, who have made it a whole little thing with finger touches that they do silently to basically say it no verbally to each other or they sing the lyric to each other. Either way, making it fairly romantic lol but only after Serendipity was released. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So, your own thoughts will have to be formed about all of that and if there is any connection there on your own. Lol hope that helps though!

Every day I get more certain that there is no real ship. The members and the company let this shipping thing going on all these years because it benefits them, both in terms of money and being free to date who they want. There are more things that prove Jkk, Tkk or any other ships isn't real than the things that have been interpreted, from us shippers, as being real.

I’m super late on this but when you sent this I started on it, and then was promptly very overwhelmed by a large number of asks and kind of shut down. I found it in my drafts so figured I’d finish and post it, if you still care! Lol. Totally understand if you don’t 🤣

I already know I’m going to ramble so let’s get this out of the way — that’s a perfectly fine conclusion to come to. If that’s how you feel, it’s how you feel. I don’t know the inner workings of KPop marketing, so I couldn’t say whether as a whole they tend to “promote” ships (i.e. fanservice and questionable photoshoot concepts/poses, even mv interactions — is that what you mean?) because it makes them money, or if they follow the fans to see what they’re squawking about online and then serve up content to kind of give the people what they want. In other words, I’m not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg. I think we’d need an industry professional in the KPop media landscape, someone who’s followed KPop a lot longer than me, or at least a blogger more observant and analytical than me to tease that out.

On Jikook specifically — I have a few rebuttals to the idea that the relationship (whether it’s romantic or not) so many of us have clued into is some sort of fabricated marketing scheme. At the very least, it’s not only that. Let’s get into them.

#1: Just because something is marketable doesn’t make it fake.

Are their subgroup photoshoots adorable and thick with chemistry? Yep. Do I think for one moment that there was a BH executive behind the camera telling JK to look at Jimin like THAT? With the slow-gaze drop down to his lips (or his ass)? Idk, to me that’s laughable. He just does. Like, I think two things can be true at the same time: Jimin and Jung Kook can look objectively good together and also be a popular pairing within the fandom and so the company can kind of play into that and promote their interactions, and ALSO they can have a naturally affectionate, long-standing close personal relationship that boosts the chemistry of those interactions. Does that make sense? It’s sort of like when celebrities who are love interests in a movie do a press circuit, and they have palpable sexual tension — that’s half the reason they were cast as romantic leads in the first place — and they also get along really well behind the scenes, because they click and also have spent a ton of time together. Of course the Warner Bros executives or whoever’s funding the movie is like hell yeah, play it up, sell those tickets — but that doesn’t invalidate the fact that the co-stars have likely truly become close and truly have a connection. And, often, it’s later revealed that the co-stars have in fact been banging the whole time. Shocker. AND even if they aren’t — they still may have had a very real connection that could have definitely sparked into something more had they chosen to pursue it — for instance, I don’t think for a second that Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake wouldn’t have hooked up during FWB if he wasn’t so obsessed with his now wife (and she might have been in a relationship then too I don’t remember). And it was exactly the case with Tom and Zendaya. AND that’s just for celebrities, who’ve often only been working together for 8-9 months or so, making a movie. Not two guys who are attached at the hip and have been for the last near decade.

Whew. That was a lot of ands. Still with me?

#2: I think you’re seriously overestimating everyone’s acting ability.

Imagine being “on” all the time.

I get that they could turn things on and get purposefully flirty or suggestive during fansigns, or onstage, but BTS are some of the most prolific celebrities out there in terms of “behind the scenes” footage. They have posted hours and hours of what basically amounts to reality show content, spanning years of their lives.

“But reality TV is scripted.” Well, duh. It typically needs to have some sort of narrative, some sort of direction or it will be dull. But as anyone who watches reality TV will tell you, it’s scripted, but also it’s not. That’s what separates it from purely fictional movies and series with actors; it’s real people having, for the most part, real reactions in real time, and it’s what is so fascinating to so many people. You can script an interaction on a reality show, but it’s much harder to script every individual person’s reactions to that interaction, the interpersonal relationships that form, the nonverbal behaviors and cues, the personality traits that are revealed. More often than not, someone’s true character, or at least several facets of it, will come out when they’re on a reality show. It’s how we can confidently say that certain bachelors/bachelorettes are assholes — because even while they aren’t meant to be portrayed as such, and in fact they are actively meant to be seen as desirable, marry-able people — sometimes they just can’t hide their gross true natures. And that’s just for 1-2 seasons. Imagine pretending that well for something like 8 years of behind the scenes content. That’s approaching psychopathic levels of acting ability, and it’s an unrealistic conclusion. Maybe they’re not dating, but I believe they’re absolutely as close, if not closer, than they look. There’s no faking that level of intimacy and comfort, not for that long.

#3: I don’t agree with you that shipping allows the members to date who they want.

I’m not sure how the two things are related actually, except that maybe shippers in the fandom are more likely to dismiss dating rumors because they believe the guys to already be taken? But that’s just the thing — dating rumors have only ever been rumors for them. Nothing’s ever been confirmed, though there has been PLENTY of speculation, for Jimin and Jung Kook both. So I don’t really see how promoting Jikook as a subunit has protected them from any of that? If they were dating other people they’d STILL have to sneak around and keep that shit locked down, regardless of shippers — because regardless of shipping, proof is proof and if a photo of them making out with somebody on a yacht leaks, it really doesn’t matter how many cute selfies they posted with the other members, know what I mean?

#4: I don’t ship/support Jikook because of their contrived interactions.

I support them and believe them to be in a romantic relationship, or at least something that is not strictly platonic, because of their tension, comments, behaviors, and stories they tell of off-screen moments. Sure, maybe some PR person gave them the okay to do that dance cover of Own It, but nobody told them to do it like THAT, in a dark room, alone, with tension so thick it seeps through the screen. Yeah, they got paired up for 2021 seasons greetings, but nobody paused the shoot to remind Jung Kook to fixate on Jimin’s lips as he playfully leaned in. Yeah, they were asked to share how they felt when they heard the news about the Grammy nomination, but do you really think a PR person pulled Jimin to the side beforehand and said “psst, do that thing where you pretend you were with Jung Kook at 3 in the morning, awake for no apparent reason, the fans love that shit.” Nobody told them to take an intimate selfie in a car together and look absolutely pissed off (Jimin) scandalized (JK) and caught off guard (both) when the camera caught them. Emily in Paris isn’t over there spinning outrageous ideas in a board room and telling JK and Jimin to pause reaally awkwardly when they notice the camera in JK’s hotel room, almost like they weren’t expecting it to be there when they entered together — the ONLY members to do so.

Have I made my point? These two are a treasure trove of suspicious moments that add up, and add up, and just keep swirling together until we all kind of collectively go — huh, that doesn’t seem strictly platonic, my dudes 🧐

Idk. It seems like this fandom is very fickle, and constantly erases any and all nuance and realism for these dramatic, black or white, this or that stances that don’t really make sense in the real world. Maybe Jimin and Jung Kook have never had a romantic relationship (and if they haven’t, in my opinion, no one has, because no one else in the group has anything close to their particular cocktail of intimacy, chemistry, and suspicious moments/stories). But even if they haven’t, does that reduce their every interaction to contrived content thought up by men in suits in a conference room? Nah baby. That’s 90% them, their marketing team is just the lucky bastards that get to reap the rewards of an electric duo. Or unlucky, probably, if you ask the poor peons in charge of editing hours of content 🙃
