I think I'm going to get cancelled for this.

Perhaps my most honest opinion as a Jikooker so far.

Something that has always bothered me about Jikookers is how they hold Jungkook to different standards than Jimin. I’ve often seen more than one person criticize Jungkook for something he did or didn’t do—whether it’s for looking at Tae in a certain way, saying something nice to him, or not doing something —while similar behaviours by Jimin are overlooked. Jimin has always been close to Tae; we’ve often seen them cuddling or saying sweet things to each other. Tae even told Jimin that he “likes him the most.” Yet, for some reason, Jimin’s actions don’t seem to provoke similar criticism or disappointment among Jikookers, who often view Jimin and Tae’s friendship as perfectly acceptable and even celebrated because, of course, Jimin and Tae are friends! Soulmates! And that’s great! That’s how it should be. But if Jungkook were to do any of these things, the world would end. How could Jungkook possibly do that? It obviously means he doesn’t care about Jimin, that they’re not close, etc., etc.

Jungkook is the one who has to make grand gestures. He has to be special with Jimin ALL THE TIME, and not just that—he has to be special by the standards of their supposed fans; otherwise, it doesn’t count. Jimin can reach for the moon for Jungkook, and many wouldn’t care. It wouldn’t mean much. Jungkook has to reach for the sun for Jimin for people to “believe” that he cares about him. And to believe jikook is at least really close.

Jungkook can’t be sassy with Jimin; he can’t push him, and he can’t say no to him because poor Jimin! It means Jungkook doesn’t care about him. But Jimin can do these things, and no one says anything. Jimin can hit Jungkook or be sassy with him, right? Because Jimin is “delicate”? So it’s not the same. Do you know how incredibly offensive that is? And the worst part is that many of you don’t even realize it! And I’m sure that after reading this, many will insult me, block me, or unfollow me because, how dare I? I can already imagine some saying that I’m defending Jungkook and that I don’t care about Jimin, completely missing my point.

You validate the possibility of Jikook being real based on what Jungkook does or says—or doesn’t do or say.

And that’s the “fear” many of you have with the upcoming episodes of the show. You don’t care if VMin declare their love in an episode; you don’t care if you see Jimin and Jungkook together cuddling on the bed, because if Jungkook interacts with Tae in any way, that will cancel out any interaction he has had or will have with Jimin.

Why, for many of you, do the interactions Jungkook has with Tae carry more weight than those he has with Jimin? Why do the interactions Jungkook has with Tae carry more weight than those Jimin has with Tae? Why do we have to weigh the interactions of three people who know each other far better than any of us?

And yes, I know you’ll excuse yourselves with, “The problem is the subgroup…” but why does what they say have to hold any validity? Their opinion, like ours, doesn’t influence anything those three men do, and by this point, that should be obvious to everyone. Haters can say what they want; it won’t change anything. Don’t pay attention to what they say. Just report, block, and ignore as necessary, and enjoy the show. Enjoy what Jimin and Jungkook decide to share with us. And if they want to share their friendship with Tae, ANOTHER MEMBER OF BTS, well, great!

Do you know why the subgroup has never stopped invading our spaces, saying whatever nonsense they come up with? Because they know it bothers many of you or us. Jimin, Jungkook, and Tae might never know what’s said on social media, and that doesn’t matter to the subgroup because their real target is us.

I’ve always said that for tkk to be real, it depends on Jikook not being real. Meanwhile, Jikook only depends on Jimin and Jungkook to be real. The subgroup knows this, but for some reason, they believe that by getting rid of Jikookers, they would get rid of Jikook. That’s not how it works, but that’s how they see it. That’s why they attack us ALL THE TIME.

So, stop with the PENDEJADAS. Because everything I’ve seen is just that, PENDEJADAS. At the end of the day, we don’t know these three men, and if nothing between them seems to be going wrong, we need to respect that, no matter what the HATERS say.

And I’m not going to be hypocritical and claim that I’ve never side-eyed some of the things Tae has done involving Jimin and Jungkook together, but that doesn’t mean I hate him or blame him for anything. Yet, that’s exactly what many of you are doing. Some openly admit it, while others pretend not to. You often start your explanations or opinions with, “I don’t hate Tae, but…”—and that “but” negates the beginning of the sentence.

And that makes all this sadder because much of what I’ve said here applies to the subgroup, and nothing would embarrass me more than reading or hearing that the subgroup and we are the same.

I did my best to capture the kind of subtle phrasing he uses, which leaves so much room to read between the lines while also being a simple answer that makes complete sense in the context of this guessing game. Who's Jungkook? Well he's Jimin's dongsaeng. That's a factual label capable of summing up their relationship to society (if you want to read more about the term, here is a previous post that goes a bit more in-depth). In BTS, Jimin has no other dongsaeng; therefore that's how Jungkook would be identified in the group.

But the way Jimin phrases this—taking the perspective of an outsider in a tone that seems to say "this is what you think, right?"—suggests a keen awareness to how Jungkook, particularly his relationship to Jungkook, is perceived by others. It also suggests the limits of this perception.

"It appears that Jungkook's just my dongsaeng. . .[but that's not all]" — would be the unspoken but clearly understood end to what his sentence conveys.

Do you know what’s the most funny thing, hilarious actually? 2 groups of people being so obsessed with jikook even though they can’t stand them together to the point they think about them 24/7.

Disclaimer: Not telling you guys how to run your blogs. Just sharing some tips on how to deprive narcissists of supply and live your best life online.

You're gonna see a LOT of hate, lies, and bullshit over Are You Sure? It's already started.

And everyone has their own way of dealing with that--whether it's to take a step back from the internet, or get into a dog fight in the comments, or compose thoughtful essays deconstructing ideas. I'm not here to pressure you into any one particular strategy--your blog, your rules.

But I've been in various online fandoms for 25 years now, on tumblr for 14, in ARMY for three, and I do have some wisdom I can share, if you want it.

Here are my three tips:

De-platform

It's well past time Jikookers de-center Taekookers and antis from our spaces, our narratives--and our minds. They live in a separate reality, they do not debate in good faith, and they get vicious when they don't get their way.

Consider carefully if you want to repost, or reblog, or reply to anyone casting doubt, slinging insults, or spouting conspiracy theories, especially over the next few months.

Would you buy them ad space? No? Then don't give them an inch in your space. Quietly report and block.

Mocking them often feeds into their victim complex. Don't feed them anything. Don't bring trash in this house.

They get nothing. Nothing.

Co-opt

If you just can't completely ignore or remove them, then don't waste precious energy arguing every little point with them. Their goal is to sap your energy.

Take a page out of an aikido self-defense handbook and use their own momentum against them.

Attacks are now an opportunity to spam the shit out of that hateful post with loving hashtags and links to playlists and fundraisers.

They just gave us free promo; go full-tilt Wunseidel on their asses.

En-joy

The best revenge is to live well.

Deeply, deeply enjoy and savor the content you do want to see. Leave no crumbs. Smack your lips and hum in satisfaction with every delicious bite.

The Jikook tag should be one big non-stop party-party-yeah extravaganza from now until well past September 19th.

Antis should be just sick to death of trying to come online for fear of seeing people ecstatically celebrating everything we get, and totally ignoring the ruiners.

Our boys are happy. They want us to be happy for them. So be happy.

Honestly, it’s been kind of hilarious watching — from a safe distance, of course — the vecinas and Solos absolutely lose it over Jimin and Jungkook being in Japan at the same time. Like… babes, they’ve literally been together for the past year and a half, but this is your breaking point?

I just saw some screenshots on a report account, and people are basically on their knees praying they’re not there to film season two of AYS. Which, by the way, isn’t even happening right now — it’s literally impossible. But clearly, “common sense” isn’t something they’re too familiar with.

Man it's wild out here lmao. The guys aren't officially back yet and jikookers are being attacked from every angle. From jjks to PJMs and taekookers and jinkookers and all we did was acknowledge that they're both traveling.

It's gonna be a MESS in 2 weeks

It’s pretty funny seeing how much they’re crashing out way more than jikookers. For the past two days, jikookers on my Twitter timeline and in my inbox have been really chill. Just happy to have seen Jimin and Jungkook, and not much else. I think yesterday there was a bit of a fuss because Jungkook was travelling with a camera or something, but overall everyone’s pretty relaxed.

Jikookphobics though? They’re losing their minds. Well, actually, they’re just always crazy. I’ve seen screenshots of threads explaining how the fact that they travelled through the same airport a day apart means the agency picked up their FS schedule early. That Jungkook is being forced again, and that Jimin’s still being used to cover up the real couple in the group.

I’ve seen Solos complaining that one copies the other, and others saying the agency’s pushing their fave members too hard. Some are calling it terrible PR. And now apparently Jungkook travelled with his “real” girlfriend — I wonder if he even knows she’s his girlfriend. It’s madness.

People were screaming in my inbox two days ago that Jikook were no longer together, and now people are shouting that Jungkook’s with someone else. And all I’ve said is I hope they (Jimin and Jungkook) have a great time wherever they are. I haven’t even speculated they’re together. Loads of people didn’t at first either, but Jikookphobics are going absolutely ballistic.

Like I said before, they’re way more anxious than us about what might happen after June 12th. In some ways, this will be kind of fun ajajajajaj.

I won’t say that later you will come here and admit you were wrong. I’m not that naive. 

But then, I can always hope.

In any case, I’m writing this here once again, even though I’ve repeated this at the very least 1000 times, and even though I know that for you it’s like talking deaf ears, but there are others that will listen:

WATCH ORIGINAL CONTENT.

And if you watch edited content know it’s edited, many times manipulated into a short clip to show a point, at times twisting the whole interaction into something it never was.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

WATCH THE MEMBERS.  LISTEN TO THEM.

APPLY CRITICAL THINKING.

Ask yourself:  Is a post saying “a friend of a friend of the instructor from the ski resort told me…” something you can rely on?  

Or, when the story keeps changing, evolving as time goes by, can that ‘story’ be perceived as truthful?  

Or, when you have content you can actually see and a whole unsubstantiated story built behind it, is that story reliable?

Rule of thumb: Just don’t believe everything you read.  Someone taking the time to put it into writing doesn’t make it truthful.

There’s more, I know there’s more.  My covid fogged mind just can’t think of the rest right now on the one hand, and on the other my fever and anger are ‘forcing’ me to post right now.  It is what it is, lol.

In any case, to all you dear trolls out there:

Don’t expect coming here to my blog and me posting your shit asks.  I don’t have to prove anything to you, not to mention you have zero interest in hearing what I have to say.  All you want is this platform to spread your shit.  You ain’t gonna get it here.

A few things...

I want to clarify something before the first episode of Jimin and Jungkook’s show airs. I also want to address this to avoid receiving certain types of messages.

I believe no one with common sense expects to see Jimin and Jungkook kissing or claiming they've been married for 40 years and have 30 children. No one anticipates sexual or explicit behaviour. We—and by "we," I mean myself and the followers of this blog—are quite clear on what we can expect from this show. We know what we want to see in this show, and that is Jimin and Jungkook being happy. Enjoying themselves together. Creating experiences and memories that belong solely to them. That is what we look forward to.

So, no one needs to explain to us what to expect, what we will see, or what we won’t. No one needs to come and "burst our bubble" of hope. No one needs to insult us or be condescending about the show. We are not stupid. We understand that if Jimin and Jungkook truly have a romantic relationship, they will not disclose it—this is common sense! We do expect to see Jikook jikooking because that is what they do. They can’t really help it. It will be funny to see them in such situations without the other members interfering or without the editors using clips of other members to distract us from what Jimin and Jungkook did or said. We do expect to see that, but beyond that, we have no greater expectations because we KNOW they can’t reveal anything about their relationship that would put them in danger, assuming Jikook is real.

So again, no, you do not need to come to my blog with that type of Asks. You do not need to come to my blog to explain anything. You do not need to come to my blog to burst any bubbles. You do not need to come to my blog, period. And if you come to my blog after this, your ask will be blocked. It’s as simple as that, so save me the trouble.

For some insane reason, tkkrs are posting so many vile and negative comments on a harmless post that was meant to just highlight AYS as one of the nominees for Favorite On Screen. Istg these people are honestly so fucking miserable, I'm past the point of feeling any kind of empathy or understanding towards them.
