In 2016, Jimin's birthday fell right after the release of the Wings album and the Blood, Sweat and Tears MV. After seeing Jimin's performance in BST Korean journalists dubbed him the Master of Opening a title that sticks to this day.

The day before his birthday BTS released an reaction video of them watching the MV for the first time. This was their reaction to Jimin's part. What's going on JK?

This was a great time for Jimin. He was performing well and his talents were being recognised and praised. On his birthday BTS performed at Mnet M Countdown. The members surprised him with a cake and presents.

And he was congratulated by ARMY while on stage.

By the end of the day he was brimming over with happiness which comes over really strongly in the birthday message he recorded. He called it one of the happiest days of his life.

Jimin also published a Tweet thanking everyone for their birthday wishes and expressing his love for ARMY. Jungkook appeared in the video. The era of Jikook travelling together in cars was well underway. Looks like the perfect end to a perfect day. Definitely a birthday to remember.

But let's look at the timeline why don't we?

At least what we know of it.

JM was hospitalized end of January 2022. Not because of covid but because of his appendix, and when in hospital tested positive for covid.

This followed the group going on a break after their 4 concerts in LA in November 2021.

Last time we had all three together was in their live on 28 November 2021. That was a chaotic super happy live. Only bullying I can think of, jokingly, would be Tae constantly mentioning brand names he wasn't supposed to, lol.

Then JK and JM returned to Korea with Jin. Just the three of them. They were supposed to go into quarantine as they returned, separately, as the government rules stated, and yet JK waited for JM at the airport upon their arrival thinking that they will be sharing a car only for the two to be separated.

There is absolutely, and I repeat absolutely NOTHING to show that there was anything wrong between JM and JK at that place and time!!!

JM and JK were fine, and there was no bullying going on from Tae and JK. What AO3 fanfic is that even?

As for the stupidity I've been hearing of since Ep. 3 of Are you sure? JK and V bullying JM, like wtf is wrong with people?

Every time I think people have reached the limit of being the worst they just prove that they can surpass themselves.

I think people lack basic ideas of human interactions if they claim that the playfulness we saw in that episode can be called bullying. If that's bullying then every single time those three played throughout the years would also be. These are 3 young men who grew up together and at times roughhouse. Like men do.

I've kind of lost hope in trying to explain to these people, who love to see JM as a victim, and therefore think they are his knights in shining armour, that JM is a grown ass man who knows exactly how to put both JK and Tae in their places if he wanted to!!! He's got the physical strength to do so, not to mention the personality too. He's known to have done both, when he wanted. And here's the news flash. Maybe he didn't want to! JM knows how to be assertive. Being such a nice human being doesn't make him a weak human being. I think that many of those that claim to love him and want to protect him either don't know him at all or want him to be weak so they can show up as his great protectors against the big bad JK, whom they would love to get rid of, cause he's just not good enough for JM, in their warped reality. Perhaps because they want JM for themselves.

JK is the person that JM loves most in this world.

The person that stood by JM's side and supported him when he was going through the turmoil he was experiencing during the pandemic.

The person that JM wanted to go on these trips with and came up with the idea to create this show so that they can go on these trips together.

The person that he flew from Korea to NY to be with for his solo debut.

The person that he can't stop talking about and bringing up in conversations that have really nothing to do with him, like during the Minimoni album exchange.

The man he chose to write a song for and write these lines to:

I've said this once I've said this a thousand times. People need to go live their lives and stop looking for drama where it doesn't exist in JM and JK's life.

They are together.

They are good.

Even if they are idols and public figures.

Even if they are two gorgeous young men who happen to love each other and are, god forbid, in a queer relationship.

Even if being in a queer relationship in their industry and society is frowned upon.

All those don't mean that their relationship isn't just a normal stable long term relationship with everything that such a loving relationship entails, including the struggles.

I want to be ot7 but the company makes it so hard. Are we only going to get pushed Jungkook’s work until they leaves? You sent me this ask after the other Anon’s confessional, so even though I’d normally not answer this sort of ask anymore, (I think I’ve said everything I can possibly say about this), because of the context in which you sent it I’ll try to explain what I think as briefly as possible.

As much as you say you want to be OT7, I think you really should just accept what you are. Because, if in the middle of all this - Jin’s birthday, BTS Monuments release, Jimin’s documentary behind released, Indigo anni, as well as chatter that Minimoni will be releasing music in the near-term, and finally, news that Jungkook chose to enlist with Jimin - if in the middle of all this, all you can see is remixes for Jungkook, you’re taking offence on Jimin’s behalf and choosing to not support the group as a result, then there’s nothing to be done here. This conversation is dead in the water. I honestly think you should accept that you’re a solo stan and self-sort.

Also, you know you don’t have to be an ARMY, right? Like, there’s other things you can be while still keeping up with BTS without being an ARMY. An ARMY is someone who is a fan of BTS, meaning, they actually like and support BTS. This has nothing to do with Korea, with the company, with solos, with feminism, Zionism, minority rights, or anything at all. It’s very simple. If you find you do not in fact like and support BTS for whatever reason, then you’re not an ARMY. Keep in mind you can disagree with BTS while still liking and supporting them aka being a fan. Obviously. But I think the very simple definition of what a fan is gets lost in these conversations. So Anon, if you learn you don’t actually like BTS - the seven of them come as a package deal - then it’s very okay to be honest about that and leave the fandom.

All that said, I understand if people find the number of remixes Jungkook has gotten annoying. Lol. Pretty sure he’s gotten over 50 remixes already, which sounds like an obscene amount even when you know artists like Taylor Swift have roughly a hundred remixes released and Selena Gomez is chilling with 78 remixes on Spotify. But it also kinda baffles me why people are surprised (or at least not expecting) that the first main project under HYBE America is being treated like an American release. I understand that for a lot of solos, the issue is that they want other members’ projects to get more remixes too, and more of the same tools as HA’s… It’s fine to want it, just don’t be surprised if BTS doesn’t meet that expectation. It’s a bit bonkers if you start hating them for it too.

Personally, I think the simplest, most basic cause of this identity crisis epidemic causing the fandom to implode, is that many people started calling themselves fans of BTS before they understood the kind of group BTS is. If you’re fretting because your non-online armys or a k-pop stan told you BTS is now ‘Jungkook-and-the-six’, because he’s gotten a fuck ton of remixes and an English album and the fandom supports him regardless, then I don’t think you understand what kind of group BTS is. Not to be rude.

Also, your non-online ARMY friends are saying something that k-pop stans have been saying for a while. I’ve seen k-pop stans call BTS ‘xyz and the rest’ since like 2016, where xyz is all three maknae line members rotated depending on the era. I was okay with it then because it didn’t reflect reality, and I’m okay with it now because it again doesn’t reflect what I think of the group. And even if it did I’d be okay with it because I trust all seven adult men in BTS to handle their business.

So, honestly and with no malice or anger in my heart, Anon I think you should do what you were going to do anyway. If the support Jungkook is getting at this time bothers you so much you can’t see anything else, or that what you see does nothing to qualify any of this for you, then I really do think you’re not an ARMY and it’s fine to accept it. I hope you don’t mind if i add my two cents. I read this ask and realized that we as human beings really have a problem seeing these idols as actual human beings who have layers and complicated feelings.

This non shipper anon mentioned that Jikook stopped being as close around 2021 but that is definitely not true. First of all, many shippers especially taekookers feel like there was a sudden uptick in jikook moments around a certain time (2017) but that is not true at all. Go back and watch content from the very beginning and pay attention to the boys talk on Lives, during festas and other moments and you discover that Jk and Jimin had always been very close. Jimin was the one who Jk spoke to when he got back from the US and contemplated abandoning his dream to become an idol and go for dancing instead.

In a log they did in 2013, we had Jimin and Jungkook telling us that the two of them were in the habit of putting blankets and sleeping together on the floor outside their rooms. The very first bangtan bomb that was ever posted was a of Jk taking videos of Jimin back in 2013. During Festa 2014, we heard from the members that Jk usually piled clothes on his bed to go sleep in Jimin’s bed and even back then, when Jk was asked which hyung comforted him the most, he said it was Jimin. Fast forward to 2015 when Tae did a Live from Japan in the hotel room that he shared with Jimin and mentioned that Jimin and Jk were together even though the 3 of them had planned to do a Live together or in 2016 where Jimin was the first member Jk ever gave a birthday gift to. I am listing some of these moments chronologically just to show u that Jimin and Jungkook had always been close, very close infact it’s just that jikook as a ship gained excess popularity in 2017 after Jungkook posted GCF in Tokyo. So it’s not really that there became an uptick in Jikook moments from there, it is that people started paying more attention to Jikook after Jungkook’s GCF. The best way to see some if these things is to watch Vlives and bangtan bombs from pre 2017 era and you will see what i am saying.

As i mentioned before, non shipper anon said Jikook used to be close till like 2021 and mentioned that their last sighting outside of work was around march 2022 but that’s not true at all. Remember that in PTD Vegas Jikook were joined at the hip, they left the concert venue together on all 4 days of the concert and one of those days, they went out to eat with Yoongi and staff and some non shipper Armys visited the restaurant they went to in Vegas and said they were told that Jikook sat together on one table and yoongi sat on another with staff. Plus Jimin and Jk still boxed together with Tommy Saem (Jk’s boxing coach) and based on that April 2022 Live with Vminkookkhope, jikook were even on a diet together. So many times people forget to facture in the point that Jimin started working on his album in May. Immediately after PTD in Vegas Jimin moved in with Pdogg to work on his album because he literally had nothing prepared so i can imagine that during that period, Jk and Jimin didn’t spend as much time together because Jimin was busy and i also noticed that Taekook seemed to get really closer during that period. Infact we all saw taekook hang out outside of work more frequently by the end of 2022 and part of 2023 than we had seen in all their 10 years of being BTS. Like anon said, jikook were the ones always together everywhere both in and outside of work. Even in 2021 while they were in LA, we found out that Jikook worked out together everyday, came back from concerts together, ate together and untop of that, Jk spent alot of time in Jimin’s room hanging out with him. So i feel like the distance we sensed between jikook starting 2022 was mainly because of how busy Jimin got. It tracks.

I am not someone who really believes that any of the members are dating each other but i know that Jimin and Jungkook have and have always had an extremely close bond since debut. It wasn’t always very visible because of their somewhat complicated dynamic and because of the fact that other pairings like taekook, yoonmin and Vmin overshadowed jikook but that bond had always been there and if you pay attention, you see it.

I believe that taekook too have always been close but i also believe that there was a period where they grew a little distant. I know that, that is not something taekookers will ever agree about but it is clear to me because i have been in this fandom since the end of 2015 and have watched alot of things unfold. I agree that jikook were paired up alot at some point but i think that was because of their chemistry and closeness and not because BH had some agenda to push. How does pairing pple in subunits potray them as closest or a couple? Jikook as a ship gained recognition and popularity not because of the company but because of Jungkook and his GCF and yes seeing them together alot on content enforces certain beliefs but did yoh ever think of how you saw them? What are they doing when you see them on content? Most times you see them together in the back even when they are not the main focus of the camera or you see them coming and going together or you see them staying back to rehearse or practice together, or you see them staying back to watch and support each other during their solo practices, or you hear members talking about them as a unit. Hobi saying Jk and Jimin always stay up late together, or Joon saying after watching Jimin and Jk run around/ get along so well he got inspired or Tae mentioning on more than one occasion that Jk and Jimin were spending time together late at night, or Hobi saying that he ate with Jikook who ordered food together. It’s not one thing and certainly not company content that gives people the impression that jikook are extremely close.

Even in chapter two where it was clear that those two probably didn’t see each other as much, anyone could still feel how much they love and missed each other, especially Jungkook with his Jimin centric Lives and constantly inviting Jimin to come over for chicken, boxing, lives etc. Those two are really good friends who are very important to each other and it is normal that sometimes, when life happens and people get busy, some distance creeps in. I feel like that is what happened with Jikook after 2022. They started doing different things, Jimin working on two albums at once, Jk not working on anything and was bored outta his mind up to the extent that at some point, my man was visiting almost all the meat restaurants in korea all alone lol and then he started hanging out with Tae alot after that and then later got busy again. That is life.

I'm not going to assume this is your intent but tangentially, I'm feeling real tired of "JK hung out with Tae cos Jimin wasn't available."

GCF Tokyo

Will Forever be the Captain of this “Ship.” I wish every supporter of Jikook today could have been in the fandom 5 years ago. Could have had the pleasure of waking up on November 8th to this beautiful declaration of love! Jikook have given us so much since then But this for the moment takes the cake!

I joined the fandom in 2015 closer to 2016. I was barely in the fandom two weeks before being pretty convinced that Jikook were more than friends ( I can go into detail later about that).  I remember constantly being torn between certainty and uncertainty because while jikook were questionable pre 2017, they were still more subtle. However, 2017 was a crescendo, every month getting a tad bit louder...we all knew something was on the horizon and then September hit and JK had a breach in his security and his itinerary was leaked. This sent the fandom into overdrive. Half the fandom scrambling to rid the internet of this info, and the other half torn between letting their curiosity get the best of them and shutting down sesange gossip. However, regardless of where one stood, if you were active in the fandom at all during this time you heard the rumors, you saw the itinerary, you learned about the gossip--JK and JM were going to Tokyo in October for JM’s birthday and JK paid for it. I remember trying hard to not talk about it or think about it. It could very well be a lie and it wasn’t right how we came to learn about it! Bloggers overall did a good job of shutting down discussions on this topic so there was silence on it...until there wasn’t.

Jimin’s birthday comes and goes and no trip. This leaves many to forget the rumors all together. Then October 28th hits and the below pictures are shared.

The whole fandom is going crazy! Jungkook and Jimin are in fact heading to Tokyo. They were spotted at Busan International Airport and seen off by their families. No one wants to say it but we are all thinking it...the rumors were true...and that was a legit sesange.

Every day they are gone we are being shown picture after picture of their time in Tokyo. And I remember thinking...Did JK really pay for all this...did he truly do this for JM’s birthday?!?!

Then the trip was over...the fandom was still recovering from the news that JM and JK literally went on vacation together and it was an all expense paid trip...paid for by none other than JK.  Then JM drops another bomb.

The fandom is sent back into overdrive...we could just see the pink aura around them! And it made all of us crazy because we couldn’t believe this was all happening and we were getting to experience it in real time.

And just as we were thinking we are in heaven...JM post his clips of their trip together. We are sent again into party celebration mode. 

When I tell you 2017 was the year, it was the year!!! It was day after day of being hit with something new. But just when we thought we were done the crescendo of the year reached it’s peek...JK drops GCF in Tokyo. And there was a short quiet. 

There was a quiet stillness because while most of us believed Jikook were a couple, we had resolved ourselves to the fact that we could be wrong. GCF Tokyo changed all that. 

I remember watching it over and over and over again thinking...OH MY! This is real...I’ve always felt it was real but this...this makes me know it’s real. It was a quiet but loud realization that reverberated across the fandom. Jungkook is in LOVE LOVE with Jimin. For a moment I thought this was their coming out video...because who could watch this and question Jikook at all! Was this it! Was this their way of telling the world who they love? 

While many still found a way to discredit GCFT, I think it was in a way JK’s way of declaring his love to JM, declaring it to anyone that would listen. I believe most of Korea heard it and we heard it! November 8th was the day my certainty turned into assurance. It is one of the most beautiful films and every time I watch it I am in awe of JK’s boldness. My heart melts thinking of JM’s reaction to seeing it for the first time. How loved he must have felt! How surprised...he must have cried so much!

When they returned they kept surprising us. Every year since 2017 has been a little louder. I think GCFT showed them that they could get away with a lot. That they could be a glass closet...they could be loud and people still would feign ignorance or deny it. It gave them a degree of freedom to be themselves without fear of the repercussions. If people weren’t convinced by GCFT they will never be convinced!

I wanted to write about this because I hear many people scoff at any mention of GCFT and say things like...that was years ago! And that bothers me to my core because GCFT is tantamount to a love letter or a proposal. A proposal is a proposal no matter if it was 5 seconds ago or 5 years ago. It doesn’t matter if the couple is still together or not...the proposal happened proving at the very least that love was once there! 

Saying that it was years ago is not a rebuttal, I’m not even sure what one is trying to suggest with that statement. Are you saying that because it’s old, it’s irrelevant? If that’s the case you are admitting that 5 years ago it was relevant, meaning you accept that they were dating 5 years ago? But most that make these claims wouldn’t agree to those terms. They throw out that’s old to diminish the impact of it...to pretend like old evidence isn’t evidence today of a relationship. 

Saying “ that was years ago” is a senseless statement that holds no genuine meaning. GCF Tokyo will always be proof...even if they broke up it would still be proof that Jikook were in love in 2017! It will always be proof because it’s like a page from JK’s diary...it’s his heart on the screen! It’s his love letter to JM and that will never change. That is a fact and will always stand to be true...10, 20, 100 years from now...GCFT will still be JK’s love letter! No amount of time changes that.

Now we can all argue when their relationship started and we all have our theories but stamp in the timeline that is certain is November 8, 2017. They were definitely in a committed relationship at that time and since I see no change in their dynamics other than growing intimacy, domesticity, and comfort...it’s safe to assume that their timeline is still active and moving.

Anon, that isn’t delulu at all! And thank you for asking this because I love talking about this topic. 💛

I love the timeline issue; I’m not sure why. I’ve tried to look at every possibility: 2016, 2018, Ch 2. I even considered the unlikely possibility that they got together during debut era. (I don’t think they did, but I considered it!)

Whenever I’ve done this, I’ve always come back to the same answer: something changed in March 2016, and I assumed that change was taking a step forward.

However…there have absolutely been times when I’ve wondered if they didn’t become official until much later. So, let’s explore that scenario!

A lot of what we saw during Ch 2 between these two was similar to what had come before but just more. More references to hanging out together, more hand-holding and back-rubbing, more working together, more whatever-the-heck-you-want-to-call-Yoongi’s-birthday-live-when-he-responded-to-all-of-Jimin’s-comments-but-ignored-the-other-members-and-then-Jimin-posted-a-video-of-himself-watching-the-live-and-loving-it.

To me, there’s no question that something shifted during late 2022 and 2023. I had interpreted it as new openness…but maybe it was actually a new relationship?

And now we have SGMB. Something about it feels like new love to me. I’ve seen theories that this is a fan song due to some of the references to 2012, to standing on stage, etc. And that’s entirely possible. However, if this is a love song about another member, shouldn’t we expect a lot of those types of references?

We also have nods to Serendipity (which is definitely not a fan song, in my opinion) in both the lyrics and in the music video. And on top of that we have some little yoonmin clues like Yoongi’s birth flower, the blue Never Mind butterfly, and the use of yellow.

This is a very long-winded way of saying that I’ve been re-evaluating lately and wondering if my previous timeline was off. 😅

If they started dating during Ch 2, I think it could’ve gone like this… (speculation ahead! ⚠️ 🤡)

I think feelings were there for a long time, and maybe even acknowledged, but they weren’t in a position to pursue a relationship. Too busy, too difficult to keep the secret, etc, etc. Once Ch 2 was in sight, things changed. While the stakes would always be high due to their careers, focusing on solo work took some of the pressure off and allowed them more freedom. Maybe this seemed like a good time to give a relationship a try?

In this scenario, I think mid to late 2022 is a good guess of when things changed. We’ve got the BST dedication, the first moon tattoo, and Jimin lingering around Yoongi’s studio and saying he chose his live title…all of that in March 2022. Those were unique moments that don’t really compare to anything we’d seen before.

Anyway, I can’t believe how long this answer is and I feel like I’m just scratching the surface!

My point, anon, is that I don’t know. 😂 I still think it’s possible that something started years ago, but I also think your theory about a much more recent development is reasonable. SGMB has definitely caused me to reconsider some things. Can’t imagine how we’ll feel after we hear the rest of the album!

Genuine question?

Has Jungkook promoted the others albums the same way he’s watched and listened to jimins. I haven’t watched all his lives as I don’t have the time and genuinely don’t know or don’t remember if he had or not. Like I’m like 50% sure he listened to wildflower or atleast played it on his live in like Jan-Feb but I don’t really know. Has be mentioned or played or watched any of SUGA’s recent album? My memory is really bad.

Like is it normal behaviour what he did for Jimin or a bit more compared to the others, has he played or interacted with the other members albums at all? I’m pretty sure if I remember correctly he may have played songs from Indigo + Jack in the Box but idk outside of that or if I’m right at all.

Like does anyone have the full rundown of what members projects he’s played + watched on Live since Jack in the box. I literally only remember him coming by Jimin’s practice & Hobi’s photoshoot/release party & playing Set me free MV and other jimin videos.

The answer is no.

He did watch Hobi's song way back in a live in 2022.

He also talked about Yoongi's concert and how he's seen it and wants to go see it live (which he did).

I'm not even sure he played songs from Indigo now that I'm thinking about it, maybe Flower-works. Yeah, I think he watched Flower works. I'd have to go back check, and forgive me, but I just can't be bothered, lol.

And I'm not just being a shit here. I don't feel like checking cause even if he did listen to a song that's exactly it - a song. Perhaps a couple of words about how cool that member is. And that would be a wrap.

What he most definitely did not do for the other members, and this is carved in stone:

Did not watch or listen multiple times to the same songs.

Did not watch interviews and shows with other members.

Did not watch compilations centered around the other members.

Did not repeat this continuously over several lives.

Did not plan ahead, set up scenarios (the guitar for instance) and give us spoilers for other member's songs or album or clips or choreos.

That, my friend, is JM exclusive.

And that is also why it was so damn loud.

One Piece - the Jimin Connection

We're big manga fans in our house and everyone was filled with an unsettling mixture of anticipation and dread when the Netflix version of One Piece was announced.

Especially after the disappointments we have had over the years. The Netflix version of Death Note was a particular low point and revealed a complete lack of appreciation of the source material which is hard to forgive. Beware who you let adapt your original work!

This time, however, the writers may have hit the sweet spot. Sufficiently close to the manga that people are nodding saying yep, that's how I had imagined that character, great they kept that scene in etc. but also sufficiently it's own thing that it can be accessible to newbies and still surprise the long time fan. So if you haven't seen it yet do give it a whirl and don't read the critics until you have had time to make up your own mind!

All the actors have been getting attention over the last couple of weeks but Mackenyu Arata who plays pirate-hunting swordsman Roronoa Zoro is being promoted as the breakout star.

He already has quite a lengthy CV from his eight years in the industry including adaptations of Full Metal Alchemist, Tokyo Ghoul, and Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure but a quick glance at IMDb shows these aren't vehicles that were going to get him noticed on the global stage. Now, I imagine, the offers will come rolling in.

The character of Roronoa Zoro also happens to be Jimin's favourite character from One Piece and one of the reasons that he took up martial arts at a young age and especially Kendo.

Kendo (剣道) or 'way of the sword' is a modern Japanese martial art, descended from kenjutsu (one of the old Japanese martial arts, swordsmanship), that uses bamboo swords (shinai) as well as protective armor (bōgu).

Last year I did a whole countdown to Jimin's birthday including a blog on his birthday in 2016. What I didn't realise then was that one of the gifts he received in this Bangtan Bomb....

Tk being a couple makes literally ZERO sense. To truly believe they are a couple is wild AF!! I for one think Tae is quite obviously straight but let's look at more empirical evidence...what Tae and JK have actually said/done...

JK and Tae both admitted to having a falling out that lasted years 2016-2021.

Tae back in 2016 during the bungee jumping episode said: "I didn't notice Jk ignoring me because he always does."

We've all seen Jk and Tae's live interactions when it's just the two of them, look at their vlives and even Bon Voyages--they struggle to not be awkward when it's just the two of them. Some can claim it's because they are hiding but anyone with half a brain knows the difference.

Legit GCFT is a whole thing...no Bf would make a whole vlog with romantic music about another man...RM even said GCFT would get more views if it was with Tae but JK did it for Jimin

When JK needs comfort he seeks out JM, this is clear in behind the scenes moments.

JK called JM his all nighter friend and when JM should have been home (he was at home) he was with JK (for his birthday) crying about their Grammy nomination?!?

Tae not knowing Jk's room number when they go on tour and would have to text the group chat.

JK only giving JM bday presents for a good while.

Tae telling JM he liked him the most (not JK, Jimin)

JK saying he didn't talk to anyone but JM and J-hope when they were on like a 3 month break (but somehow he dating Tae and not talking to him?)

Tae not being apart of JK's bday activities when on break but JM flying across the country

oh and let's not forget that JK dedicated a whole live to watching videos about JM and then in his other lives became an absolute child in love whenever JM's name was mentioned. Oh and when JM came into the chat how he begged him to come over...changed his profile pic to JM etc. etc.

This list could go on and but I will stop here. This is not to say JK and Tae aren't friends...I think they have a close relationship but are quite obviously nothing more than friends. Like it's the most obvious thing ever and I don't know how this ship is so big or why people believe it. I know some ppl ship them for aesthetic purposes but to actually believe it means either one is blind...doesn't ever watch real content...brainwashed...or doesn't have a fully developed brain i.e. a child. The lack of critical/logical reasoning in that ship baffles my mind.

Taekook hanging out or standing next to each other is more proof of two people dating then GCFT, JK planning a whole ass trip for JM for his birthday, a hickey, JM traveling across the globe to be present for JK's bday, Or them spending time together at questionable hours . . .make it make sense?!?!

I could say so much more regarding my one on one interactions with taekook shippers young and old but I'll stop here.

Serendipity, pt.4: jikook

Where do I begin?

"I am you. You are me."

In my opinion, this song was not written with jikook in mind, but both Jimin and Jungkook made this song theirs and of course they would!

It fits their story perfectly.

The phrase "I am you, you are me" was coined by the artist Zico in his music video for the song of the same name. This was released in January 24, 2016.

In the song, the characters notice the similarities in the stuff they do and wear. In one particular scene, both characters have bandaids on their fingers.

Jikook were both seen wearing matching bandaids in a fan meet in April 2016. When asked about it, Jimin mentioned Jk gave him and Jk wore one too. When Jk was asked about it, he said he wore it just because.

"I am you, you are me."

Serendipity was released on September 4, 2017 and Namjoon explained that the lyrics took a long time to write. Also, Zico's song was well received in Korea which makes me think that Namjoon and jikook both were inspired by this song...separately. Which is to be expected.

In the music video, the date 2017.09.01 appears. While many might think this is due to Jk's birthday and therefore the song was a gift from Jimin to him, the date is when the video was approved and finalized (if I'm not mistaken). This is truly a coincidence.

The first mention of the famous Serendipity phrase was in the Run BTS episode 62, when both Jimin and Jungkook got the same score in the machine that measure the strengths of their fingers.

Jk mentions it must the destiny but Jimin, not a destiny believer, says, "I told you. I am you, you are me" which means that they had had a conversation about their similarities before.

In these past years, Jimin and Jungkoo quoted the song for the most random things.

Both were feeling the hot temperatures of Malta?

"I am you, you are me."

Jimin had to talk about Serendipity?

Jikook came back from Tokyo? Jimin sang Serendipity while looking straight at Jk.

Touching each other's fingertips became their thing as they serenaded each other "Neoneun na, Naneun neo."

Jungkook was an avid fan of the song and was often seen seen watching Jimin rehearse the song for their tour.

Jungkook, being the big supporter of the song, would also get triggered by little things and he would randomly burst into song.

In 2020, Jk wrote his FESTA profile about Jimin and described Jimin as his “You are me, I am you."

Not only has jikook made the song theirs, they literally accused the writer of the song of plagiarism when Namjoon used a phrase similar to

"I am you, you are me."

They truly applied the song to their lives as little coincidences added up...just like in Zico's music video.

Personally, I can't get behind the theory that Namjoon wrote this song for jikook because that would be very weird. Namjoon would have had to be ok with writing about jikook blooming...I mean..

Namjoon also had a very clear idea of what he wanted the song to convey and how he wanted it to sound. From the sounds of that, he wasn't taking recommendations from the members. Serendipity was Namjoon's statement.

Also, the BTS book revealed that Jimin found the penicillium line funny so it makes me think that Jimin wouldn't be laughing if Jk was indeed the penicillium the song was referring to.

However, I do believe that jikook made the song theirs and took the lyrics to heart.

Being from Busan, debuting with BTS, being dancers and singers, having similar goals and work ethic, and the little coincidences that connect them do make it seem like the song was serendipity for them as well.
