Been playing alot of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth lately, latched onto Jimi KEN, he may just be like, simple first kinda major villain, but I liked him!
Later in the game, when Arata fused with an Eater, I kind of got the idea of "Okay...But what if that was applied to Jimmy" and ran with it
Anyway, this is Eater Asmodeus, just a fun little idea I drew up. His fighting gimmick is that he can, and will, summon other, weaker Eaters, never attacking himself but boosting the Eaters at his side the longer they stay up.

“The new plot point of them losing their digimon partners once they grow up is BULLSHIT”
I have seen that this has been said many times since the trailer came out, and being the long time digimon fan that I am, I am gonna make an entire post explaining WHY THIS IS ENTIRELY RIGHT (from what my head can remember at the moment).
Long post under the cut, plus spoilers for animes and games.
Anime-wise, they are completely forgetting these three iconic figures of Digimon Savers (2006):Â
Producers, do you dare to tell me that Satsuma and Kudamon, Yushima and Kamemon; and Suguru and Banchouleomon are not partners? ... That’s what I thought. We can also include Miki and Megumi; and their Pawnchessmons here because they are clearly not kids.
Moving on to the games, just because there are not other examples in the anime. And no, I am not counting the Digimon 02 epilogue, that feels cheap because everyone knows about it.
Let’s go back to Digimon World 1, released for the PlayStation 1 on 1999. The final enemy of the game is a man called Analogman, who has a fucking Mugendramon/Machinedramon as his partner. Look at me in the eyes and tell me he looks like a kid.
He also has a cameo on Digimon Digital Card Battle in which he possesses a VenomVamdemon/Venommyotismon but that doesn’t makes him his partner.
Now, onto Digimon World 2, released for the same console on 2000. It’s been a while since I have played the game so there may be more examples, but for the sake of comfort, I’ll put the three teams leaders (Blue Falcon - Cecilia, Gold Hawks - Vandar; and Black Sword - Skull).
On Digimon World 3 (PS1 - 2002), we literally have to fight against a terrorist organization called the AoA. And yes, they have digimon. And no, they are not kids.
But hishex, these are all old examples, the must have forgotten! Aatatatatattata. More recently, in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (2015) and it’s sequel/same time-different POV Hacker’s Memory (2017), we have the annoying Jimmy Ken, the detective Goro Matayoshi and the policewoman Date Makiko. All of them have partners, you can battle them on the tournaments of the game.Â
Conclusions:
Digimon has always been pretty consistent with the canon imo, even when in Xros Wars: Hunters who Leapt through Time, they explained the digital worlds (except Adventure and 02 ones) were different because they were in parallel universes, which made sense for the games and the manga as well, and it was relevant to the plot in that moment as well! However, this time I felt... disappointed when I saw that as a plot point.Â
You could argue that it is still because of the parallel universes but it doesn’t have consistency. So far this would be the only example we have of children losing their connection to their digimon because they grew up. And it feels so goddamn cheap.Â
Plus, the whole trailer gave me huge Diaboromon/Diablomon movie vibes, to the point that I think they just copied some of the scenes and settings for fanservice. Also, I feel like they are gonna give us a half-assed excuse as to why the digidestined stil have their digimon on the epilogue of 02 (like the wacky plot in Tri), and I would like them to prove me wrong about all of this because I love Digimon.
P.D. Make something with Digimon Tamers FFS WE NEED MORE OF THAT.
Thanks for coming to my TED-Talk.

Daily Log: 2/18/2023
Paragraphs ahead...
Finally found out about Clip Studio Art's "parallel" drawing ruler, so no more having to duplicate layers and horizontally flip 'em. Speaking of Clip Studio Art, I'm finishing the fourth page of "Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes" (first page link) in it-- and let's just say, you'll get an idea of why Claire felt so afraid of Sarah and Jimmy. Also, never try to abbreviate "Clip Studio Art" into an acronym, as I tried for the previous sentence, since that spells out "CSA" which also stands for... something else, awkwardly enough. I think I'll just make it: "CS-Art," for short.
Also, I figure I need to be more active on this blog, beyond just posting stuff or commenting on other posts. Personally, I prefer commenting to favoriting because it feels a bit more "weighted," per se, rather than I'm just adding something to my "favorites" without a second thought and possibly forgetting about it in due time. I'm not knocking on those of you who prefer "favoriting" to comments, it's just I prefer a more "engaging" and "vocal" matter of interacting with other posts.
I decided to go back to making posts daily; but I really fear it getting obnoxious if I do it too often, yet how can you build an audience for yourself when you just awkwardly pop in to post stuff and then leave? At the very least, I can try offering interesting tidbits and stuff, and updates on works-in-progress so everyone knows I'm still working on stuff to warrant clogging up your "following" lists.
Also, is anyone else excited for Steam's release of "Digimon World: Next Order" next week? I played the original PS4 version back in my college days, and even broke it out recently in 2021 to 2022. Now, I'll be able to play it on my computer, which should make it easier to get stuff done when I need that occasional break. I still have "Cyber Sleuth," of course, but that's the same thing over and over again, and it's really made tedious by the lack of a dialogue-skipping option.
Please, if I wanted my Digimon game to be more words than gameplay, I'd get "Digimon Survive" (at least that has a "auto-scroll" creative types could work during). A shame about those lengthy dialogue and character interaction sequences, 'cause I DO enjoy digivolving, battling and all that jazz! Also, nothing like having Richiu, my loyal Veemon friend, following me everywhere-- especially when I'm playing "Hacker's Memory," and can give him the proper wolf-based digivolutions! … Actually, maybe I need to go do a little more playing, just to tide me over during this period of wait.

Hi, hope I can send an ask...? ^^; I just wanted to say I had a lot of fun joining your streams, including the Cyber Sleuth ones, and Jimmy KEN seems fairly unpopular from what I know. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a big fan of him! ;w;
My ask box is always open. I love getting messages! I'm glad you enjoyed my cyber sleuth streams though! And I don't know why people don't like Jimmy Ken. My one friend who I played through the game with the first time hated him because of his "cringe" text but I love all the lolz and other dumb things he says. He's just an enjoyable character.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory Reveals New Characters and Online Battles
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory Reveals New Characters and Online Battles
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory is still releasing in 2018 for the Americas, but that isn’t stopping Bandai Namco from dropping more details about new characters and online battles. First up, two new characters were introduced: Jimmy Ken and K. When he’s not playing in his rock-n-roll indie band, Jimmy Ken is the leader of the Demons hacker group. His Digimon of choice is Boltmon. On…

So Cyber Sleuth introduced me to the awesomeness that is Hackmon/Jesmon…I’ve heard the name for many years, but never had the drive to look him up. Definitely one of my new favorites ^^

In a tale of two Leomons (Gaomon & Elecmon), both of them take their own desired paths.Â
One continues his fight for the title of “Bancho”. The other, finally taps into the secret power of the ancient beasts, obtaining his true form.
...Yeah yeah, over dramatic I know. But SaberLeomon looks so awesome!

Another set of screens from my time with Cyber Sleuth.Â
Still loving this game to pieces, partner-in-crime Terriermon finally got to his badass Gargomon form! Plus, got Bukamon to Gomamon and little Tanemon to Renamon(FINALLY!).Â
I also love how we can text our Digimon too, it gives a great modern way to communicate with them. It’s not perfect since responses range from quirky to generic, but it’s something I’d love to see expanded on in a future sequel (hint-hint Bandai/Media.Vision). I do wish we could interact and play with our Digimon though.
Overall, game’s got me hooked - the last brand new game to do that was Bravely Default. I’ve always believed that if a game gives you the itch to keep coming back for more, the team behind it did something very great. Not saying it’s a “masterpiece”(and I do have a few cons atm), but this is definitely an adventure that’s a joy to play.
