Hey, not familiar with your story here. What's this about memories being traumatizing? How could they be even close to traumatizing enough to make a Rebellion era persona user lose their persona? Especially Ryuji? He would have had to forgotten accidentally causing the death of hundreds, or that of close friend to even hope of losing his persona

... Um!!! Both? Both. Or - childhood friend he doesn't (and I didn't) remember is in a coma. Because of us being very very stupid kids. He - uh. Jumped into danger to save the rest of us.

Also, us being stupid kids are why Eaters are in the Digital World. Eaters. Well. Eat data. I... don't think I have to spell out what that means.

Also Eaters are the cause of! EDEN syndrome! Which I don't think everyone who contracted actually survived! Because being in a coma is really fucking expensive!

The only reason I'm not a constant and irreversible mess is that we sort of. Rewrote reality to make sure none of that ever happened? At least in my timeline?

Of course I also got kicked out of that timeline and into this world in the process, so there's that.

Interesting dilemma that Hacker's Memory has put forth.

A living, thinking, feeling Program has committed theft. There are no laws regarding its actions, but after being caught shows no remorse for its actions. In fact, it fully intends to continue stealing.

So the question is-

in this episode, chitose and mc inadvertently compete to pick up a girl (yuuko) and chitose gets absolutely crit by her being extremely neurodivergent.

mc, of course, wins by doing absolutely nothing (edit: but suffer). it's yuuko's world and he's apparently just living in it

Case #1

This is a point in the game when illusions take form of the kid's partners to try to deceive them and make them despair. Aoi does the majority of the lifting when keeping Saki out of it.

Afterward:

They specifically call it out! And Takuma is a blind bi idiot who is worse than me in picking out romance!

Girl, you have fallen hard. I think this is beyond thinking of her as a friend at this point.

Case #2

(kept to the most relevant parts as tumblr image limit is bigger but not big enough for these girls' feelings)

Important to note in Case #1, a large part of trying to tear Saki down by the fake!Floramon was her dishonesty and "selfishness" on not spilling the beans about her illness. Aoi is right (of course she is the two have each other on lock) about Saki being straightforward. A big part of Saki's character is lack of tact and bluntness through most other avenues. Back to Case #2, Saki, the straightforward and blunt person she is, cannot figure out how to talk to Aoi. She is flustered and clueless on how to talk to her crush!

Saki wants Floramon to be a stand-in for Aoi so she can practice talking to her! That's the equivalent of practicing talking to her crush in the mirror and wants a friend to stand in to gather courage. That's romantic as fuck! It made me think of setting up the Alphys and Undyne date in Undertale. Saki isn't one caught up in social anxiety though; she's just super nervous because that's her crush!!

Did I mention that wanting to talk to Aoi is such a pivotal scene for Saki's character that it's when Floramon reaches Perfect?

Aoi is the person she brings up by name. Their character arcs are about growing their confidence together!

PROPAGANDA FOR AOISAKI: [spoilers for survive] They're so close that Saki's death is the impetus for Aoi to go completely off-the-rails insane and try to destroy the world. Saki sacrifices herself for Aoi, who tries to destroy the world with her girlfriend gone. Tell me that doesn't drive you literally insane

PROPAGANDA FOR YUUFEI: The first and second in command...in Hacker's Memory they have a conversation where they go "we're actually More than friends [wink wink nudge nudge]" and I think that's beautiful. We love canon WLW

Some Stray Observations and theories for Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Our starters seem to be Gomamon (Vaccine), Patamon (Data), and Demidevimon (Virus). But these guys also correspond the big three of greco/roman mythology.

Patamon = Jupitermon

Goma = Neptunemon

Demidevimon = Plutomon

I wonder if Locomon will be the primary way we travel around the digital world.

One of the areas we see is a very watery, coral filled zone. Considering the throne in the right image, I think this zone is ruled over by Neptunemon. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if each zone in the game is the domain of a specific member of the Olympus Twelve.

Also, in general, a noticed a huge focus on digimon as a means of transportation. We have Locomon. Above the player character is seen riding a Garurumon and Whamon. We later see a Blimpmon, and we also see the MC escaping an explosion on a Birdramon. I wonder how much of these are set pieces, and how many digimon can just be ridden in game if they're in your party. Considering the throne room screen cap, perhaps you need to ride specific types digimon to access certain areas.

The main characters have uniforms, and are wielding some kind of gun. I'm guessing they'll be recruited to a special task force. One whose job is to stop the invading digimon/ venture into the digital world to try and find the source.

Aegiomon is featured prominently, and not only that, we can see him in your party in what looks like an early game section. Are you given him for free, or is he a species guest like your friends digimon in Cyber Sleuth?

I'm also curious what his role in the story is gonna be. Because he's the canon champian form of Jupitermon. Was he defeated and lost his memories? When he evolves, will Jupitermon still be a friend or become a foe?

Next, we have a sci-fi esc city that seems to be populated by digimon. In one of the articles, it says digimon have their own society in this world, and some even own shops. I wonder if this place will be a main hub, or if each section of the digital world will have it's own town like area.

Also, it looks like the white haired girl will be one of the friend characters like Nokia or Arata. I wonder if that Angewoman is her partner, and if so, what it'll evolve into by the end of the game?

Finally, I have one last theory for this game.

Time is obvious gonna be a major theme for this game. It even seems like part of the plot will be to stop bad timelines form happening. This makes me think we're gonna see a new digimon in this game: Saturnusmon, and that he'll be the main villian of the game.

Percy Jackson(I know this is movie Hermes but I couldn’t find a good illustration of book Hermes.):

Better than the other gods in this series,at least he stuck with Luke until the whole May thing.also he does genuinely seem to care about Luke.so he gets better rating than I would give the others.

Lore Olympus:

7/10

He doesn’t get much screen time but I wholeheartedly think he’s the second best character in this entire comic(you should be able to guess who’s my favorite)

So yeah,he’s pretty dope.(unlike other characters in this comic *cough cough* hades)

Hades:

10/10

I can’t even describe how much I love him.

When I think of Hermes this is the characterization I think of because it’s just so good.

Like,speedy?here,have +30% speed.trickster and liar?hmm,I wonder where Persephone is,also what Hermes is doing.merchant?well,just ask his associate!(also side hustle)

Also,he has some really good boons like side hustle,rush delivery,the automatic god meter one,plus dash,and side hustle.

And the lambent plume is really good.

Another thing,I just got the prophecy where he bets you to beat up Charon twice in a row and he really just said “hey so I made a bet with my boyfriend that you could kick his ass could you,like,go do that?”

Osp:

9/10

Cool lil guy.

He’s fast and mischievous and a little shit in more ways than one and I love him for that.

Also his design is cool.

Digimon:

7/10

Does this guy count?Only in name.

But anyways,I’m just gonna take this time and tell you to go watch Digimon savers(sub,I wouldn’t say the dub is terrible persay but it just takes away at a lot of nuance that I liked in the Japanese version)

If you like series where the main character saves the day with the power of friendship and this orange/yellow dinosaur they found(and a healthy dose of kicking ass)you WILL like this series.

But,going back on track I like him.doesn’t feel like a Hermes but still cool.

The thing with rating Digimon like this is that they tend to vary between games/anime,my main example being alphamon in world ds vs cyber sleuth(both of which you should play btw).

But thankfully he only appears in savers and I like him a decent bit there if only *spoilers*

First of all,I forgot about him,sorry.

Second of all,literally the only thing to note about him was the torch thing which I found pretty cool.

So back to Hermes,I really like him.

His interactions with Alecto were fun.

I don’t really have much else to say.
