So "Good Witch" is being taken off of Netflix so of course I started watching it to see if I was missing anything and I wasn't. It's one of those shows that has the potential to be good if it had better writing because it, for the most part, seems like it has some good story lines. A new doctor in town who has to basically start his clinic from scratch in a town that doesn't trust doctors because their last town doctor was an asshole after the narcissistic mayor screws the new doctor over by telling him it was fully stocked when it was barely functional while also dealing with a divorce and having full custody of his son. A son that is spoiled and trashed a person's house and skips school and his dad doesn't have the emotional availability to take care of him so their relationship is strained. They have the self-centered mayor who doesn't admit to her own faults or thinks things through (holy shit how did she become mayor?). There's another dude, Derek I think, who was acting weird for half the episode and seems like... Well I don't know if he's a shitty partner or if becoming a police officer was so important to him that he didn't want input into his decision including his partner or what but. He's a police officer! And all the people he loved, including the main characters which I haven't even talked about yet, were being assholes about it for reasons ("this is the last thing your father wanteed for you" he said accusingly) they don't really explain. I think the dude's sister implies that their dad died in service, or like a long string of family members died in service, but they don't say what happened or why I should care about this (I guess if the dad did die in service I could understand why they would have such an unsupportive attitude but still. Maybe it's the dry dialogue with no character voice behind it. When they talk it's always so stale omg no soul behind those words). There's also a new chief of police. I think he called out the mayor a few times for her bullshit so I think they're good?
Ok so the actual two main characters, the Nightingale's! Danny Phantom witch au or crossover anyone? Jk. They're... good witches... That's really all there is too them... They don't really have personalities other than being nice and being whimsical but no personality to make me care about them. Magic is barely there so for but it's just the first episode so who knows. They make it obvious that the new doctor and the witch mom are endgame but they also obvious make the doctor's son (who I am going to refer to as "Troubled Boy" from now on) and the witch daughter endgame with a childhood friend love triangle that he's obviously going to lose which is going to be awkward because if the doctor dad and witch mom get together then that means the kids are going to be step-siblings and good luck explaining that. When the witch daughter first sees the troubled boy and her childhood friend gives her a psychological profile per her REQUEST and they start looking down on him ALREADY EVEN WHEN HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING YET (which makes me think they do this REGULARLY and that annoys me. Especially since with the dialogue I'm not going to care about this one obvious flaw). They try to pull an "I'm not like other girls" thing but then make her show immediate interest in him despite the fact that she was looking down on him literally half a second ago. And then she's just nice the whole episode. Well ok. Both ships they're trying to pull and enemies to lovers but I don't care about them and one of the ships is a one-sided enemies to lovers thing which isn't that fun especially since the doctor kind of had a point in telling the mom witch that she shouldn't have been prescribing what at first I thought was safe nonrisky herbal remedies or like a magic potion thing but no she says she watches what proportions she puts or something which makes me think she prescribes like. Real medicine. Presumably without a license or something. I will give her credit that she is in fact good at what she does and has a point in telling the doctor that herbal remedies are also an alternative form of medicine. Also the doctor not believing in herbal remedies because they're not pills and therefore not giving his patients that option?? Like sir???? Did no one teach you about this when you DID go to medical school??????? What did you think people used before pills were made??????????
Oh WOW that sounds bland. Yeesh. I’ve never watched it to be honest, but it sounds like it tried to fit every trope into a show and failed.
I think you’re completely right in saying that it has the potential to be interesting! If only the characters were 3 dimensional. Yknow. Actual people.
This hits every stereotype and trope, I have no idea how NONE of them landed

TRAITS
Your "canon" trait combination? Absolutely in love with Mystical and Street Smarts atm. It clashes so much with each other and yet gives MC so many advantages. Normal nosy and supernatural nosy.
What third trait would you add for hardcore mode? Keen Eye to unlock the Nosy (Beast Mode) trait. I now know what Tabitha has in the greenhouse without TTA and I'm still a freak! *people screaming and the town being blown up in the background*
What trait are you least drawn to? Hot.
jk. I do think the flustering people with my looks and flirting falls a bit flat for me. I've never been drawn too much into roleplaying those characters even if they have extra flirt options. Seems too little of a payoff to me.
Coolest trait? Alone I really enjoy all the freedom that street smarts grants you: you can talk to Isaacs, you can be a class traitor the best cousin ever, you know more about the estate than any other trait, you steal and you lie and no one ever knows what happened. You can see how good Tabitha is at misdirecting and telling half truths. It's awesome.
Mystical + TTA combo gets a special mention because of the ditchlings' voices.
ROMANCE
Who are you romancing? Still in the fence over Reese and Avery. Avery is a beautiful person who is secretly a horror fan and that would match so well with Cassandra and I love Reese's everything but if his relationship with Kaneeka turns romantic I want both these couples to be in my canon playthrough.
What romance are you the least interested in? Wayne. I don't know if I've said this but I've always seen him as a toxic father figure to MC in tandem with Tabitha's attempt to play overbearing mother figure. They have such a fun divorced energy and I totally see them pulling MC from each side. It's the supernatural fighting fiercely against normalcy to get a bite of you.
Who would you romance if every single character was eligible? Avery and Reese still. They're just made for me <3
MISCELLANEOUS
What character would hurt you the most if something bad happened to them? Rosalina. I know the truck already went over her in certain timelines but if this keeps going I'm going to start howling.
Would you stay in Scarlet Hollow once the week is over? Nah man. This place isn't going to be niceys after whatever is happening passes by. If it passes by.
Who would you vote for dog mayor? Scraps. We love a leader who shreds monsters to pieces and demands more from the government.
Or his mean looking chihuahua buddy. Who hurt you my lad.
Tagging: @tragicomedykitty @szczypawice @heywizards @garaviel and anyone else who wants to do this!

I made a test batch of gooseberry jam to see whether we liked it, and I think I’ve discovered a new favorite jam. It’s wonderfully tart & it’s a gorgeous color because our gooseberries are red. Since I’d never had this kind of jam I figured I should test it before making a real batch -- and now I’m going to make a whole gallon & become the mayor of Jam City!
#jk I'm not the mayor yet#that will be after the blackberries are harvested#there were ~18lbs of gooseberries#and there will easily be 20+lbs of blackberries#my wine cellar and jam cellar will be exploding by November#I think it's time to start leaving some fruit for the birds

Omg this is getting out of control. I was only planning on getting an average knowledge about dragons, so i could describe it accurately. And now I'm having a internal debate about which kind of dragon Jimin is. Like... in the pic it looks a lot like a wyvern, which is cool, i love it. But then again wyvern look really scary and were usually bad and seems like belong to the idian culture or the european(like Italian and English). 1/2
So when i first wrote about the dragon au i had zero to no knowledge about dragons and when i chose that photo i wasn’t aware it entailed a particular type of dragon. However your ask definitly piqued my curiosity and i’ve spent the last half an hour reading about the different types of dragons.
What i had in mind when writing the idea was a dragon with four legs and a pair of wings, able to fly and walk, claws, fangs, yk all that dangerous stuff and maybe a long tail too? That automatically discarded all the snake-like dragons such as african dragons, wurm and lindworms. I had also thought about the size, i really liked the idea of his dragon self being really big and mighty and dangerous, compared to his tiny and cuddly human self? The thing was that when people managed to transform him back to his more vulnerable form (through some magic spell or smth) they would find this really cute and totally not frightening nor dangerous person, automatically underestimating him, followed by a good beating up (he’s like one of the best at hand to hand combat and can perfectly use the vast mayority of weapons) (however jk somehow still finds him completely endearing)
The type of dragon that was the most acurate with what i was thinking was the western dragon, known for having 6 limbs (a pair of wings and four legs), spit fire and have scaly green bodies and huge red wings. Am not really fan of the colors, I lean more towards a dark red, black or even dark grey? I do however like the idea of a fire-breathing dragon, it’s powerful and dangerous and cool, even though other “powers” could also fit pretty well. They are also known for being greedy creatures, who hoard gold treasure in dens under the earth, and i like the idea that this slighty rubbed of on jm’s human form. Whenever they have to do a public appearances, jimin would never appear without at least one piece of jewelry, he loves leaving astonishing impressions, and the shinier the better. He likes to dress up and show off, and really worries about his image (and therefore about jk’s, who he constantly pesters about what he does and does not have to weat when meeting nobles and kings) However he doesn’t go bananas for it and doesn’t hide huge treasure in mountains or anything (yet he does LOVE when jk gifts him a piece of fine jewelry) Finally, these types of dragons live in caves, mountains, or lakes, and while, they both prefer a comfortable inn, with a warm bed, good food and ale, there are nights in which thay aren’t able to find a place to sleep and they have no choice but to find a safe cave in which to spend the night (jm isn’t exactly a fan of spending a night in the wild and in fear of his knight being in any kind of danger, he refuses to turn back into a human, spending the night curled around jk and never completely drifting off to sleep) so it’s in these kind of night that jm uses he’s natural instinct to find caves.
(western dragons)
And well that’s pretty much it :) But please, that’s just how i thought about it, any other idea is welcome and perfectly valuable, so if you had another thing in mind, i would LOVE to hear it.
I hope this was what you where thinking (i’m not an expert on dragons so, am not sure i got everything right 😅) and i loved your coment, i really appreciated it ❤❤
Thank you <3
