a/n: Hihi! I know I said two weeks, but I've been balancing school and home life. I'm also re-reading this piece I wrote a while back and brainstorming for new things. Also, I've never written reactions before, so I hope you enjoy it. I'm sorry this is so late.

Jinho

He would be the type to avoid a meet-up.

It’s not like the relationship ended badly, but it’s for convenience. 

Jinho wouldn’t want to step on your feelings if there were any remaining

Honestly, for him, there was still something left over

He's delusional. Literally gaslighting himself to think he’s avoiding you for your sake.

The meet-up would be accidental like it was meant to happen. 

Jinho honestly hadn’t been out of his apartment in a few weeks. He had been having second thoughts about the entire breakup. Was it the best decision? He wasn’t sure. Although, the food had run out in his house, and takeout was expensive these days. 

He was walking through the isles bored when he saw a familiar figure. He didn’t see your face, but he didn’t have to. Something inside him wanted to approach you, but he didn’t. He couldn’t and he didn’t know why. He would rather die than go up to you. He stood there for minutes wondering whether to move past you or do a 180. 

He ended up just staring at you, taking in this moment of seeing you again. You were looking at some snacks on the shelf when you turned your head and looked over at him. He watched as the smile spread on your face, and how you waved at him. He reciprocated it, all without much thought. The moment flew by too fast for him because, in the next second, you were gone for the next item on your grocery list. 

Hui

Hui would most likely become obsessed with his work

Anything to distract himself 

Maybe he’d blow money for some serotonin

Anything to give him a quick whiff of some happiness 

He’s been writing songs like crazy and they're all sappy breakup songs

He doesn’t like any of them though 

He needs a break and a bad

Hui needed some time out of his studio which was now too stuffy for him. Just a simple walk would do for him. For what he meant for a short walk around the building, he ended up in a park nearby. He sat on a swing slowly rocking back and forth. His eyes were closed taking in the sound around him. It was quiet, barely anyone was around. Still, the sound of the wind and the trees slowly dancing to it making their sound, The casual cars driving by in the background. That was the serenity and peace he had been looking for this whole time. 

When he finally opened his eyes he noticed a familiar figure sitting at a bench. They were eating lunch alone with their head down. He didn’t have to see their face to know who it was. He smiled to himself, maybe this was the motivation and clarity he sought. 

Hongseok

He’d be more of the jealous type. 

He’s most likely the type to stalk a page 

He made a fake account just for you!

Lately, Hongseok had been feeling like you were losing interest in him, or you were getting over this. With all that he still felt for you, he couldn’t let you. He still couldn’t let you go and needed something to drag you in with him. So, he devised a plan. He would “randomly” meet up with you. 

He got used to the schedule that you had, and have, so it wasn’t that hard to find you. He had crossed your path multiple times after the break-up, but neither of you had decided to go and talk to each other. He was too shy, and you wanted to get over him. It was better for you anyway, and sometimes seeing him just hurt.

Not this time when you saw him. You two had managed to get on the same bus. Although, you knew hongseok had a car and could drive. It made you wonder what happened to him after you two separated. You locked eyes with him, and he shared a smile with you. He took that as an invitation to come closer to you on the bus. He made small talk with you for most of the ride. Something about the whole experience felt like deja vu almost as if you had met him again, but in a new life.

Shinwon

He plays it off but he’s most definitely hurting 

He hangs around other people for a distraction 

He is not okay though

When he’s alone or at home he mostly pouts

Dont come about his mood though because he will snap

He also won't leave the house unless he has to

The guys have to make him come out, so they take him to an inside amusement park

They may spoil him a bit too much. 

It seemed like Shinwon was as good as new. He was smiling, laughing, and making his awful jokes. Honestly, Jinho and Hui kind of wished they left him at home. It seemed like this was the perfect thing to bring him back from being a literal human zombie.

They were walking around the theme park when he saw you giggling with your friends. You guys had rented school uniforms on. He was happy that you were happy though. The way you laughed or held your friend's hand. He didn’t notice how long he had been staring. 

He was sent back to reality when Jinho tapped him on the shoulder. “You ready to head out already?” Shinwon looked back at him just nodding. He didn’t know if Jinho knew if he was looking at you or not. Either way, nothing was mentioned on the way home.

Changgu

He lives in a cafe. 

Or he visits it a lot

Either way, he wants to run into you

First, it was the old cafe you two used to visit

Then your favorite cafe

But nothing, he couldn’t

One day he gave up and just started to work part-time at a random cafe

He was working late nights due to his day job. He was enjoying working at a cafe. He loved the smell of coffee beans after all, and wouldn’t complain if he smelled like them all day. One thing was for sure though, he brought a lot of business to the cafe. 

Everyone went to the cafe to see the cute barista. He smiled with all of the new attention, but he wasn’t quite sure if he enjoyed it or not. Some part of him still hoped that one day you would walk into those doors. He convinced himself that all of the girls he turned down were for you. He was staying loyal to you. 

The only problem was that he only worked at the late-night, and it was not the most favorable time for a cup of coffee. 

One night while he was making one of his famous cups of coffee, he heard a familiar laugh. His head shot up, he had to see your face again. Although, he frowned as soon as he spotted you in the crowd. Your arm was locked around another guy’s laughing and leaning into him. 

He frowned and turned over to his coworker, “I'm taking my 15.”

Yanan

The relationship was short

Surely not long enough for deep feelings

That's what he thought before he broke the news to you

But lately, he had been missing you

Denies it and tries to play it slick

I’m thinking this is like a college fling thing

So you guys could run into one another

Finals were coming up and Yanan was in the library with his head stuck in one of the textbooks. He had been there for hours, and he was starting to get hungry. He had a six-hour final that he was preparing for, and he could not flunk it. He searched in his bags to see if he had any snacks left over. Luckily he still had some, leaning back and eating it.

He took that time to scan his surroundings. He had been focused on his work for so long that he hadn’t noticed the amount of people that had come and gone. This time around he noticed you dozed off on a desk. Your head was lying on a textbook sleeping soundly. You looked so pretty to him. He went close to you and put your jacket over you.

He didn’t quite understand his actions or what possessed him to buy snacks for you. He smiled to himself as he wrote a note. He teased you about falling asleep in the library and how you should take better care of yourself. He didn’t sign the note, smirking. Maybe he could tease you more like this in the future.

Yuto

He is already a quiet person, so I feel like he kept the relationship very private

Barely anyone knew that the two of you had broken up

The break up wasn’t on good terms

The two of you could not agree on something 

He hated arguments and everything that came with it

He also hated telling you when he disagreed with something because it would lead to even more arguments even if it didn’t have to be one

The two of you were petty anyways

He tried to avoid you, and the places you hung out frequently

Yuto was out with a large group of friends. It was unusual for him, but he was enjoying the extra company. They were at a large shopping mall, so it wasn’t an ideal place to be. He was quieter than usual. Maybe it was because he didn’t want to draw a lot of attention to himself. That was the reason. He wanted some quiet time but didn’t want to be alone. Maybe this was the best solution for him. 

He thought of himself over the relationship. Maybe he was being too harsh, but he thought if he heard that you died in a week or so he wouldn’t care. Okay, that was cruel of him, but he needed some way to distance himself. 

The sad part was, when he saw you at a store with another guy, his heart sank. He was mad that he still felt some type of way about it and about you. He was disappointed in himself, nonetheless, he played it off and went on with his day. 

Kino

I'm going with the cliche trope

He’s just a party guy to me 

And I think he’d go to parties to let off his cool. Especially if it was a harsh break-up 

I feel like he’d still be jealous and possessive after the relationship

If anyone would try to say something bad about you, he would get mad at them. 

He’s still sweet as ever, even if it ended on bad terms or not

Kino was at a party, like usual. He had a huge social circle. He was floating around the party talking to a lot of different people. He was feeling better tonight. He preferred to put himself out there when he didn’t feel up to it. Honestly, he was feeling a lot better. 

He did notice you when you walked in, it would be hard for him not to stare. He watched over you, still feeling protective. He knew a lot of the people at the party, some of them having a bad reputation. He would rather watch over you from a distance, not ready to face you. 

That didn’t matter when a random guy came up to you. He didn’t know him, but he could not stand the fact that another man was talking to you. He came up to you putting his arm over your shoulder casually.  “I forgot to ask you what drink you wanted.” Kino kept a sly smirk on his face. You looked a little upset and surprised to see him there, but he just brushed it off. It was fun to cock-block you.

Wooseok

I think he would be quieter about the breakup

He seems like he keeps more to himself 

But he’s generally sweet to everyone 

I think the motivation would be down

He wants to keep things on good terms, but that doesn’t mean friends. 

He’s not the type to text you after

Unless he needed something 

Wooseok had gathered up some motivation lately, after looking at how messy his life had been lately. He was picking his stuff up and putting things in their right places. During that, he found some items that were yours, and he noticed that some of his things had been missing. He frowned, he didn’t want to do any confronting, but he wanted his things back. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?

His hands were sweaty as he texted you. He simply stated that he had a few of your things and he thought that you had a few of his. It was simple and he tried to be as polite as possible. He was not trying to make anyone upset. 

After a few days you hadn’t answered his text, so he tried again. This time his tone was a little hasty, and when you responded, it was in an aggravated tone. He was confused. You didn’t want to meet with him and made that clear. He suggested mail, but that seemed to upset you as well. 

When he saw you later that week on the street, he said nothing. He did nothing. Any feelings that he had left over for you, were gone. Then he knew he could move on.

Slowly you opened your eyes to the light coming from your windows. The curtains made the room bright but at least the sun wasn't shining directly on your eyes. Turning to the side you smiled. There he was, looking lovingly at you with a sweet smile plastered on his face.

"Good morning beautiful" he whispered

You smiled back at him and your hand instinctively went to his face, stroking his cheek and admiring his beauty when suddenly

Your alarm starts ringing really loudly, making you jump

You open your eyes and turn it off, looking at your phone and the empty bed. It was a dream... a really realistic dream, but... you don't know who the guy in your dream is. You got up and changed knowing you had to go to college

- - - After your classes ended you decided to spend the afternoon with some friends to wind up. After all, it was Thursday, and every Thursday you guys went to a cafe close to your campus to chat and do some homework together

You sat on one of the tables to save it and also keep an eye on your bags while your two friends went to grab their drinks. You had told them about your dream on one of the breaks and they just laughed at your sad exaggerated expression saying that soon you'll find a boyfriend. It was a thing between you guys since you were all painfully single

When they came back to the table you went to the register to order your usual "Hi! I would like a medium Taiwan bubble milk-" You stopped mid-order staring at the barista you had never seen before in the store. What caught you off guard was that he was the guy in your dream

"Milk tea?" He questioned since you just stopped talking

"Hm, yes, milk tea... sorry" you laughed awkwardly as he smiled politely

When he was done with your tea he spoke up "Have we met before? Your face seems familiar..."

"I'm not sure but you seem familiar too" You smiled taking your tea. You wouldn't tell a stranger, even a really cute one, that he was in your dream and a really romantic one

"I'm Jinho... maybe we could hand out some time? I would like to know you" he said in a shy tone "Yes!... that... would be nice" you answered way too fast for your liking

At least you would have news to share with your friends and who knows... maybe a boyfriend as well.

starts the day off with breakfast and a little bit of reading outdoors if the weather wouldn’t be too hot and he’d absentmindedly reach for your hand while he’d read

going to a bookstore together just to see if there’s any that would catch your attention but you’d both be reminded of your bookshelf at your shared apartment and how there’s barely any room for more books but you’d still get at least 2 each

he’d really appreciate it if you made him something for his birthday instead of buying anything. like, jinho would be very content with a drawing/painting, crafts, or food. but whatever it is, he’d love it

yeah so you’d make him a birthday cake and the rest of ptg would help out with dinner for jinho and hongseok because you wouldn’t leave him out and he’d appreciate the thought

the cooking would go surprisingly smooth considering what happened for changgu’s birthday dinner but you’d all laugh about it and be thankful that no one got hurt or anything

there would be a lot of loud talking and random dancing here and there but it would put a smile on yours and jinho’s faces at seeing everyone together and enjoying themselves

everyone would hand out their gifts to both jinho and hongseok after dinner and kino would play a song that he and the rest of ptg wrote for both of them and it would be so sweet

after that, wooseok would bring out the cake and would probably almost drop it and he’d nervously laugh it off but you and shinwon would find the whole thing too funny. wooseok would probably hold jinho’s cake up too high just to tease him but would finally let him blow out the candles

once everyone would be occupied with something, jinho would take your hand and pull you to one of the windows away from everyone just so you could look at the stars together for a bit

you’d have a conversation about something and for most of it you’d both contribute but you’d notice that jinho wasn’t saying much. so, you’d turn to look at him and he’d already be looking at you with a sweet smile on his face

he wouldn’t say anything as he’d gently pull you in for a soft kiss and you’d both just take in the moment before you’d get interrupted by oohs and clapping. both of your face would have heated up by then but jinho would give your hand a gentle squeeze to comfort you

spending jinho’s birthday with him would be so nice and calm, aside from the chaos at some moments. he’d have a smile on his face the entire night because he’d appreciate everything that you’d all do for him and hongseok’s birthday

Hello, Anon! Here are the headcanons for the fake maknae Jinho. I don’t know if what you wanted was this much, but i had the idea and i just couldn’t resist. Apologies for the length!

Jinho finds out you’re extremely ticklish

It happens by accident.

Actually, it happened maybe three times before Jinho actually realized you’re super ticklish.

The first instance is when you visited Cube HQ to fetch Jinho from rehearsals for a date. Reception knows you well enough (from your frequent visits and the fact that you always bring them snacks whenever you drop by) that they automatically give you a visitor’s pass to go on up.

You bring a bag of assorted cookies from this cute little bakery near your place and offer them to the group. Kino particularly cozies up to you to get more of the sugar cookies and keeps poking you and acting cute to get you to concede.

He assaults your arm with his pointer fingers and accidentally misses and hits your side. You jump like, some feet away and almost drop the open bag. Kino takes eager note of your reaction and a mischievous smile grows on his face as he takes a step towards you.

You shake your head and say, “No, noh-uh, KIno, here–just take the cookies!” and almost throw the bag at him.

Jinho through all this had been at the other side of the room gathering his things and only appeared before you just as you handed Kino the bag. He fishes a chocolate cookie out and takes a bite before gently putting a hand on your back.

You’re still wound up from the accidental tickle that you involuntarily shiver at the touch, and Jinho looks at you for a moment before continuing to munch on the cookie.

The second time it happens is a few weeks later, when you got invited to watch a movie with Jinho, Hui, and Hongseok. The four of you decide to check out the pop-up souvenir store that some really big movies have before watching. There was a display of stage knives (the ones with retractable blades), mugs, stuffed toys, keychains, those types of things.

Hongseok takes a knife and, seeing as there’s not many people around since it’s a weekday, does exaggerated martial arts moves: twirling the wrist holding the knife, spinning around, and overall being dramatic. And you’re laughing at him and watching as he stabs the air and pretends to fence with you.

Until he crouches low and stabs you right in the thigh and you drop; Hongseok keeps stabbing at you until you explode in a fit of giggles and he’s laughing hard himself.

It’s then that Jinho, holding one of the mugs, appears around the tiny aisle with Hui in tow. His eyebrows scrunch, bemused, and asks what happened.

Okay, you love Jinho and know he’s mature enough to not exploit your weakness like Hongseok and Kino, but you still didn’t wanna risk being a victim of Hui because he’s the more playful one and absolutely will tickle you once he finds out.

Breathless, you tell Jinho that Hongseok was just being ridiculous and it made you laugh so hard you fell. He just nods in understanding, like he just knows Hongseok’s capability to be absolutely Extra™ and helps you stand up.

Jinho finds out when he’s at your place, spending his day off just lazing around and hanging out with you. The promos for Pentagon’s most recent comeback are over, so he decided to visit before he goes off and gets busier again.

It’s mid-morning and Jinho wakes up to an empty bed and the smell of cooking pancakes in the air. He knows that food is your way of showing affection, and you tend to have a feeling of what he’s craving right at those moments. So he gets out of bed and silently pads over to the kitchenette.

You’re there, humming quietly as you cook, totally immersed in the work when fingers suddenly trail up your back and you let out a high-pitched yelp, spilling a bit of batter from the ladle onto the counter before turning around.

“Aaahh, oppa!” you say. “Don’t do thaaat!” You put the ladle back into the bowl, not before gently elbowing your boyfriend in the chest. You search for a rag to clean up the mess on the counter.

Jinho is amused, and up to no good. “But why not?” he asks, taking advantage of your distraction to swiftly wind his arms around your waist, bury his face in your neck, and blow.

You laugh-scream, trying to wiggle away and escape from Jinho’s arms as he continues blowing raspberries on your neck. Breathless, you plead, “Jinho–oppaaaaa–please–aaahh, please stooop!”

But Jinho is having way too much fun and just shakes his head, the movement making letting out another peal of laughter from you. His chest warms at the sweet sound; he wants to hear that sound forever.

“Jinho, the pancakes!” is when he finally lets you go–but only because the pancakes might burn and he knows you’ll be upset with him if they did. He sits on a stool at the breakfast bar and watches you with a smile.

You two have been together for a little under a year; by new relationship standards, it’s been a little while, but Jinho still can’t believe he didn’t realize your hypersensitivity. All those times he playfully poked your side or caressed your thighs and knees and you jumped? He thought you just aren’t one for much physical contact, but it’s all because you’re ticklish; it made him relax a little, knowing that you react the way you do not because you have an aversion to his touch, but because you’d just end up laughing if he does.

Jinho sighs, the smile still on his face. “I love you, jagi,” he says.

You flip a pancake and turn around, pouting slightly, but fighting a smile. “I love you, too,” you say.

“But if you ever tickle me again, I swear I’ll tell the members about your tickle spots.”

After a whole day being busy with his schedules with the group, Jinho arrived the recording studio in their company building looking all tired and worn out. But he knew he needed to work, so he just decided to go to the studio first and make some draft recordings before finalizing it the next day. He sat on his chair, huffing as he put his bag to the side and took off his cap.

Before turning on all the apparatus around, he checked his phone and saw a message from you from thirty minutes ago and telling him you were on your way. He suddenly became confused as to why and was gonna reply, until he knew he was too late the moment he had heard a few knocks on the door

“C-come in!”

He snickered nervously the moment he saw you with a smile on your face once you opened the door, bringing a few cellophanes full of food as you slowly went in and closed the door, Jinho standing up and grinning to try and hide his tired state

“I’m sorry I didn’t reply.” he pursed his lips as he grabbed the cellophanes from your hands and put it on a table nearby

“I’m sorry for coming in all of the sudden. I was afraid you’d still be at an event or something but I couldn’t help but just come over. I even thought you were not here yet so I waited a little while.” you said as you walked over to the table next to him and put your head on his shoulder, making him smile and kiss your forehead in reply

“Schedules ended two hours ago. I only showered at the dorms and chilled for a bit. I wanted to sleep but I felt like wanting to finish a few recordings.” he walked over to his seat and you walked over to the sofa situated nearby, looking at him as he started to play some instrumentals he made from the past recordings he made

“Aren’t you hungry?” you sighed, lying down on the sofa and checking your phone

“Kind of. What did you get?” he asked, not looking at you

“Tteokbokki… some jajangmyeon…” you prolonged; only glancing at him as you kept looking at your phone

Jinho couldn’t help but give you a few side eyes every now and then since you both became quiet, him realizing you both hadn’t spent time for over a couple of months because of his schedules. He felt bad, because he did truly love you but at the same time he couldn’t find the right time to spend it with you. You, on the other hand, understood every bit of how busy he was all because you always supported his wants of becoming a singer. You didn’t even mind that you only met once or twice in a span of two weeks, knowing his schedules were always packed and he had to work in his studio; making him lack sleep and rest altogether, worrying you all the time whenever he texts you he is home or at the studio working to let you know he is alright.

Jinho suddenly stood up in the middle of his work, walking over to the food and grabbing a Styrofoam bowl that had jajangmyeon on it, unwrapping the plastic wrapper and grabbing a fork as he sat by your legs, making you sit up and look at him confusedly

“Aren’t you worried about your work?” you frowned, but he just started grabbing a few strings of noodles with the fork and spoonfed you, making you open your mouth and chuckle as he continued to feed you a couple more times before feeding himself

“I made a few drafts just yesterday. Want to listen?” he asked and you nodded excitedly, making him walk over to his seat again and put the bowl to the side as he looked for his recording

You walked over to him and stood next to his seat as he played an instrumental. It seemed like a really familiar song and you wondered if you’ve ever heard it before. You looked at Jinho who just grinned, making you all confused again since you felt as if he was plagiarizing a song

“So… this is your new song?” you raised a brow as you looked at him

“Mhmm, a cover.” he replied, making you relieved all of the sudden

“I knew it! What song is this?” you snickered as you saw Jinho paused the music for a while, scrambling through his files and checking the original song

“Here.” he smiled widely as he started playing the song, and you realized it was none other than My Valentine, a classic song you’ve kept hearing for a few times before

He suddenly laughed, grabbing your hand and making you sit on his lap. You giggled, realizing what he was thinking of as he played the song

“Happy Valentines?” you shook your head, still laughing

“Happy Valentines.” he said as he kissed your cheek

“Anyways, ever thought of a duet?” Jinho said as he looked up at you giving him a perplexed expression

“Excuse me?” you furrowed your brows, shaking your head

“No, I mean… I wanted to make a song for you but I didn’t have the time, so I thought about a duet as a gift for both of us.” he paused as you still gave him a confused look, so he just sighed as he continued

“Okay, fine. I’ll just get you a different gift.” he sounded as if he was sulky, but you stood up and cleared your throat to walk over to the other side of the room where the microphone was, putting on the headphones and clearing your throat once again

“So, when do we start?” you smiled, making him laugh so hard he almost fell off his seat

In the end, he prepared the recording again and looked at you with a warmed up smile

Of course, Hui wanted to be understanding. He should be, he was so busy himself and you never bugged him about it.

But he’d also missed you so much over the past week, work keeping him so occupied that he’d barely seen you at all. So naturally, he’d looked forward to finally having a day off that he can spend with you.

Sadly, instead of cuddling and talking and spending time together, you were sitting at your desk working while he was all alone on the couch, watching your back. Hui had no right to be annoyed about this, he knew that. But he couldn’t help feeling a sense of jealousy over the group project that was stealing all your attention away from him.

He got up after a while, standing behind you and putting his hands on your shoulders.

“How’s it going?” he asked, squeezing his hands in a comforting gesture.

“So-so,” you replied with a sigh.

“Mhm.” He rested his chin on the crown of your hair. “How much longer?”

“I don’t know. Two or three hours?”

“Can’t you take a small break?” He couldn’t stop the dissatisfaction from bleeding into his voice.

“Don’t tempt me, I need to get this done.”

“I just miss you,” he mumbled, snaking his arms around your shoulders, unwilling to let you go.

You turned your head and left a brief kiss on one of his hands. “I miss you too. But I’ll really have to get this done.”

“I’m sorry. I’ll leave you to it.” With a quick peck on your hair, he trudged back to the couch, letting you focus on your work.

After you were done for the day, you made it up to him with plenty of cuddles and kisses, so he’d almost forgotten all about it.

That was, until a few days later, when the group project was stealing you away from him again.

The two of you had agreed to have lunch together; Hui had specifically adjusted his schedule to make time for this. But a few hours before the date, you suddenly texted him to cancel the plans.

He sighed. He knew you wouldn’t have cancelled if there’d been another way. But he still felt frustrated over that stupid project taking up so much of your time. He didn’t want to whine though; you were probably stressed enough already and didn’t need a pouty boyfriend to top it off.

Since the lunch date fell flat, he used the newfound time to work so he could get off earlier to pick you up. When he arrived at the library where you and your group were meeting up at, his displeasure about the project increased even more. Not only was it keeping you away from you, it was also keeping you in the company of two guys that he had to admit were fairly handsome.

He made his way over to your table, casually caressing your back as he sat down next to you. The two guys sitting across from you got a quick nod, before he focused his attention back on you.

“Hey, baby. Will you be much longer?”

“No, we were just getting ready to leave.”

You packed up your things, bid your group farewell and made your way out of the library.

While you waited for a cab outside, Hui bumped his shoulder into yours.

“So, you’d rather have lunch with them, than with your boyfriend?” He looked at you with a pout.

“What, are you jealous?”

He wrapped his arms around you. “Yeah. So do something about it.”

“Like what?” You chuckled and he loved the sound of it in his ears.

“I don’t know.”

You wrapped your arms around him too, nuzzling into his neck. “I’d much rather have had lunch with you.”

“And yet, you cancelled to for them.”

“For the project.”

“Even worse.” He squeezed his arms a little tighter. “Are you staying over tonight?”

“Mhm, of course.”

“That’s what I wanted to hear.” He smiled contently and pecked your cheek before waving over a cab.

“What are you doing?” Jinho asked as he sat on the couch next to you, leaning his head against your shoulder.

“Nothing much. Instagram.” You shrugged, briefly showing him your phone.

“Hm. Anything interesting?”

“Not much.”

You felt him nod against your shoulder. When you glanced over, you saw he had his eyes closed.

“Are you okay?”

“Mhm, just tired. I had so many schedules these days.”

“You wanna go to bed to sleep?”

“No… let me just stay here for a bit…” He tapered off.

You turned to leave a kiss on the crown of his hair, a fond smile on your lips. “Rest well, love.”

Jinho sighed contently, his breathing already starting to even out.

Nothing else to do, you focused back on your phone, Instagram still open. In order not to disturb your exhausted boyfriend, you abandoned the reel section for now and aimlessly scrolled through your feed instead. A friend of yours had posted pictures from her recent vacation, your sister had shared the cute penguin cupcakes she’d made for your nephew’s birthday, your colleague showed off her new car. You weren’t the type of person who always needed to be up to date with everything, but from time to time it was nice to look through Instagram like this, catching glimpses of the experiences the people you cared about made.

Between a blurry picture of your aunt’s cat and an advertisement for yet another weight loss program, a sunny smile caught your eye. It took you by surprise to see him on your feed, he hadn’t been for ages. When you clicked to go to his profile, you realized it wasn’t because he hadn’t been active; there were plenty of pictures you hadn’t seen before. But the Instagram algorithm had seemingly decided that his posts weren’t of much interest to you.

And it had a point, honestly. He was your ex; you weren’t supposed to be interested. But it’s not like you parted on bad terms, so maybe a little bit of interest was okay. Both of you had simply concluded it wasn’t working out between you. Looking back at it now, you weren’t even sure if you’d ever been in love with him in the first place. Maybe you’d just been lonely.

Lost in thought, you scrolled through his pictures. He seemed to be living a pretty good live; the posts showed him laying at a pool, him and a friend on some kinda yacht, him shirtless-

“Wow.”

You flinched. You’d been so in thoughts; you hadn’t even noticed Jinho stirring awake on your shoulder.

“Huh?”

“So that’s what you’re really into, hm?” Jinho eyed the picture on your phone with a dramatic pout. “Guess you’re just settling for me.”

“Nooo, don’t say that I just happened to see it! I’m not into him!”

“And yet,” he frowned, “you liked his pictures.”

“I did?” You looked back at your phone, and sure enough there was a red heart under the post. “I must have done it unconsciously! I’m really, really not into him, I promise.”

“Maybe I need to increase my gym hours…”

“Don’t be like that.”

“Hongseok would be ecstatic.” He sighed dramatically. “I’ll have to watch my diet more too… My significant other is so demanding.”

You nudged him in the side. “Jinho, my beloved, the love of my life, my favorite-“

“Your favorite? Not sure if I can trust your words, I don’t even have abs.”

In a last attempt to quell his teasing, you wrapped your arms around him and rested your chin on his shoulder. “Jinho, c’mon. I love you. You don’t have to go to the gym. In fact, please don’t go to the gym, your schedule is already so full.”

“Too late,” he tried to wriggle out of your hug, but you tightened your grip around him, not letting him go. “I texted Hongseok, he’s probably already done with making a plan for me.”

“Please?”

He looked at you, his eyebrows furrowed as if he had to seriously think about this.

“Pretty, pretty, please?”

“I’m your favorite, yeah?”

“Favorite person, boyfriend, everything.”

“Hmm”, he hummed. “Fine, I’ll let it go this once. Also because I really don’t want to increase my gym hours.”

Content with his reply, you snuggled into him as he lifted his arms to hug you back.

“He didn’t have to show off like that though. Why do people these days feel the need to take off their shirts all the time?”

Hongseok

Objectively speaking, it probably wasn’t a big deal. It was just a bookshelf, no deeper meaning attached.

But Hongseok valued small things like this in your relationship. He liked being helpful in your daily life and supporting you in every way possible. It meant a lot to him when you relied on him. So, when you’d asked him if he could accompany to pick up a bookshelf you’d bought because you couldn’t carry it by yourself, he’d been happy about it. He’d looked forward to helping you with this.

Yet, you’d seemingly decided to shatter his anticipation. Clearly, it hadn’t meant as much to you. When Hongseok unlocked the door to your flat and walked into your living room, the first thing he had to witness was the brand new bookshelf, already assembled and equipped with books and plants.

He stared at it in displeasure before turning to you, who was lounging on the sofa. “We wanted to go and get it together.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Hey, Hongseok, love, I’m also glad to see you, I missed you too, how was your day?”

“My day was fine but why is the shelf already here?” Hongseok dropped down next to you on the couch looking at you with a visible pout and big boba eyes.

“Well, it just turned out that way.” You chuckled. “Are you angry about this?”

“I’m not angry. But I was supposed to help you… Did you get it by yourself?”

“No, I went with Changgu.”

Hongseok furrowed his brows. “Why would you go with Changgu and not with me?”

“I just met him by chance when I got my jacket that I forgot at their dorm last time and he offered to help since he had to drive to town as well.”

“But I was supposed to help. I could have easily carried the shelf home and assembled it for you.”

“It’s just a shelf, it’s no big deal. You can accompany me next time.”

“You say that now and then next time you’ll suddenly take Shinwon instead. Even though I’m way better equipped to carry a shelf, no offense.”

“C’mon,” you nudged his shoulder. “Don’t be jealous.”

When he didn’t reply and continued pouting, you sneaked an arm around his waist. “I only took Changgu’s offer because I thought it was better for you too, since you’re so busy…”

“I am really busy, but I don’t mind making time for you. We're dating.”

“I promise, next time we’ll go together?”

“You better not go back on that.”

“I won’t.”

Finally satisfied, he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer. “I missed you, I love you.”

A smile spread on your lips. “I love you too.”

“But like, it would have been way quicker if I had helped you. I’m really good at assembling shelves, you know?”

Hui may be on the shorter side himself but he’s gonna tease you a bit for being short. He actually likes that you’re short. It makes it so he can really wrap himself around you when you cuddle. 

Hongseok

Oh man. Hongseok is such a little tease. He teases and pokes fun at your height all the time. If you get bothered by it, he will stop. He thinks you’re so cute -- especially when you get angry and try to be all intimidating. 

Shinwon

Shinwon doesn’t mind that you’re short. He actually likes being able to drape his long limbs around you and fully envelope you. He might poke fun here and there but he doesn’t make it a regular thing.

Aww Changgu thinks you’re just the cutest thing. He thinks you’re cute regardless of your height but it just adds to your cuteness. Oh, he might just combust when you have to get on your tippy toes to kiss him.

Yanan doesn’t really think much about your height. To him, it doesn’t matter what his s/o’s height is. He loves you regardless. He does sometimes put stuff on the top shelf just to mess with you.

After Y/N read it, she was surprised.

“You know, you should still be thankful that someone cares for you even though he was late to send those photos to you but it seems those photos are recently taken,” Jia said. Then Y/N checked the photos and it has dates on them and she was surprised again.

“OMG! You are right! These photos are recently taken. Doyun should never get closer to me,” Y/N said.

“Also, don’t ever accept invites from Doyun he might really do something to you,” Jia said.

“Yup! I will never go with him anywhere even when we are on our company outing,” Y/N said. If you had ever believed in soulmates, it was because of Jo Jinho. You two met in High School and were inseparable since day 1. He was your prince charming, the love of your life, your ride or die. Your life with him was a fairytale, and you caught yourself wondering so many times how lucky you were to have him in your life. You two worked hard to get into the same college and the time you spent there only made your connection stronger, and you knew it in you that you were his forever.

Which only made the break up more painful.

When you were offered the scholarship of your dreams, your first instinct was to go running to him and share the news, so you could celebrate together. So much had passed, so obviously he looked way more mature than the last time you actually saw him in person, with traces you couldn’t see over a photo, but adorned his face like it had always been there, and only complemented his charming self.

The suit and glasses added to it as well, but what made your heart stop was the smile. It was like traveling back in time, to when you could see him everyday in comfortable sweatpants and loose T-shirts, playing guitar by the window of his apartment, the golden dawn light shimmering on his skin.

Your daze was broken as he approached and you tried to find anything to say at all, but it felt like you forgot each and every word in your own language.

“Hey” was all that came out of you, and you cursed yourself mentally for being a grown ass woman acting like a teenager again.

"I did not expect to see you here." he said, a confused look on his face

"Yeah, I live here now." You offered a smile, but you were actually nervous thinking how living in this city is basically what broke you two up.

"Nice to know I'll have a familiar face around! I got a job here now, I just moved in"

"Really?" You were surprised "congratulations on the new job"

"Thank you" He smiled in return, eyes turning into crescent moons "since we're here, would you like to grab something to drink? I would love to catch up with you"

You always thought of getting in touch with Jinho over the years. Every time you thought of him or checked him online, you thought of texting. What actually stopped you was the thought that what you did was unforgivable and he probably hated you after you ignored the many times he tried to reach you after you told him you wanted to break up. The last time you saw each other was when you went to return his stuff, and get yours' from him, and that did not go well. You two barely looked at each other and you don't ever remember saying anything, but you couldn't forget how heartbroken he was.

It threw you completely off guard when invited you to catch up because you expected him to hate your guts. But then again, it was a long time ago, he probably was over it, like you were. At least you thought so.

"Sure, why not?" You answered shyly.

He led you both to a table while your coworkers grinned at you, and you silently shushed them.

The conversation started a little awkward, both of you walking on eggshells to avoid the "ex" subject. You caught up eventually, and you were glad to know that he actually achieved the job he always wanted and was very focused on his career, and he was happy to know that the same happened to you.

Before you two realized, the conversation was flowing easily, and you were laughing together and messing with each other, feeling like nothing actually changed between you two. The connection was still there and you honestly felt happy about it.

When the bartender warned about the last call Jinho offered to share a cab home with you because it was already late, and you gladly accepted it, just so you could stretch the time spent with him.

"I'm glad we ran into each other" he said like he could read your thoughts.

"Me too, I'm having a lot of fun." You admitted, you two reaching the front door of your house.

"I gotta be honest, though, I thought we wouldn't see each other again." He said with a half-smile "the way that things happened with us…"

"Yeah, I know…" you gently interrupted, too embarrassed to bring that up "But I'm happy to see you, really. I didn't even see the time passing."

"Right?" He agreed "it ended too fast."

"I might have a bottle of wine we can open if you would like to come in" your mouth ran faster than your brain, and you felt really stupid for asking that like you were pushing some kind of limit there.

You felt a little more comfortable when he didn't take long to make up his mind and accepted your invitation.

You entered your house and kicked your heels off to the side while you heard Jinho closing the door behind himself.

Out of a sudden, you felt too shy to look at him, so you kept yourself busy with other stuff.

You tried to take your coat off, but the collar got caught in your necklace's chain, and you simply couldn't undo it yourself.

"Here, let me." Jinho promptly helped, gently untangling it.

When he told you that you inspired it, you thought Jinho was just having a little joke with you, but as you listened to the song, you realised just how much of his heart he had actually put into it.

Whenever he felt himself getting jealous, Jinho would always just try and force a smile onto his face in the hope that no one else would notice. But one person always would, and that person was always you. Jinho was never quite sure what exactly it was that made him so jealous when other guys spoke to you, but it always made him feel slightly inferior, and terribly nervous too. He hated to see that someone else was able to make you laugh more than he could, he always felt as if that was his most important role.

Just before Jinho enlisted for the military, he sat you down and spoke to you about where he saw his future going, and how he hoped after discharge he’d be able to think more about settling down, hopefully with you. If there was one thing you learnt about Jinho quite early on your relationship, it was how easy it was to scare him and give him a fright. As soon as you made him jump for the first time, you knew exactly what you were going to be able to keep doing in order to keep him on his toes and give yourself a good giggle too. Jinho was often having to creep around the apartment in fear of what you’d be up to next, flinching around every corner in fear, only for you to suss him out and attack him from the other side with something that you knew was going to make him fall to the floor with a loud scream.

The feeling of missing you was something Jinho always reassured himself would be something that he’d get used to, and yet somehow that never actually seemed to be the case for him. He would never tell anyone when he was missing you, the last thing he needed was for anyone to know he was struggling, especially the other members who were relying on him to lead the way. He's a grumpy old man when sick.

Says you don’t have to look after him but he would be so salty if you didn’t take care of him while he’s sick.

Otherwise he listens to you well, stays put and takes his medicines.

It’s difficult to communicate with him because the sickness makes him grumpy so it’s better to just let him rest it out.

Hui:

Only God can tell for how long he has been sick by the time you noticed it.

Still insists that he isn’t sick even though he can’t stop sneezing and coughing.

You have to physically drag him to bed or bait him with something or else he just won’t take a break.

Feels a bit uneasy from just laying down and doing nothing but if you hold his hand, he will eventually fall asleep and sleep for 20 hours straight.

Hongseok:

Is perfectly capable of taking care of himself but if he has you, he’s going to take advantage of that.

Gives you clear instructions on what he needs and where you can find what.

Pretends that he feels worse than he actually does so you take pity on him.
