Rhaelya stans hate Sansa because...

Let me stop you right there. I am a Rhaelya, a Jonrya, and a Jon stan. I don't think about Sansa unless I'm forced to. My hyperfixation is on certain characters. Sansa isn't on my radar enough for me to hate her. Like Jon, I feel little else but indifference for her.

Sansa being a hostage makes Lyanna...look like she was a hostage...because there are parallels in both their situations.

But it's *not* a parallel, and here's exactly why.

Rhaegar is not like Joffrey.

Rhaegar actually died with Lyanna's name on his lips, as was confirmed in the official World of Ice and Fire App.

He was also described as a "love-struck prince" by the author himself:

I have always been fascinated by how ASOIAF embodies the theories put forward by Acemoglu and Robinson about countries with extractive institutions (which hamper development). So my question was: Why do you think the political institutions in the Seven Kingdoms are so weak? Joffrey had no real love for Sansa. He saw her as an object to mistreat and misuse. He had no empathy and a deep lack of consideration for other people. He had her beaten because it gave him momentary gratification, because he was a psychopath. How is this comparable in any way to Lyanna at the tower of joy?

In fact, the whole point of what we are finding out about Rhaegar through Dany's chapters is to prove that Rhaegar is literally not the monster Robert has been making him out to be. That all Robert has said was due of his blind hatred of him and little more. So again, how is Lyanna's experiences in the tower of joy comparable to Sansa being beaten and harmed as a hostage in King's Landing?

How could this be a parallel, and can you back your claim with anything other than headcanons that have no basis in the books?

There is a reason why the tale of the winter rose was told to Jon specifically — because Bael the Bard and the Stark maiden is analogous to Rhaegar and Lyanna.

George says this about romance:

It's interesting, to get back to this issue of romance that you raised earlier. When I was in Spain a few years ago, I had dinner with a woman — a Spanish academic — and a big fan of both science fiction and romance, and she had read a lot of my stuff because people said I was a very romantic writer. This traditional telling of romance is shown quite clearly with both Bael the Bard with the Winter Rose and Rhaegar with Lyanna. Bael the Bard's tale was briefly happy:

No. They had been in Winterfell all the time, hiding with the dead beneath the castle. The maid loved Bael so dearly she bore him a son, the song says...though if truth be told, all the maids love Bael in them songs he wrote.

But also ended in tragedy:

"The song ends when they find the babe, but there is a darker end to the story. Thirty years later, when Bael was King-beyond-the-Wall and led the free folk south, it was young Lord Stark who met him at the Frozen Ford...and killed him, for Bael would not harm his own son when they met sword to sword."

"So the son slew the father instead," said Jon.

"Aye," she said, "but the gods hate kinslayers, even when they kill unknowing. When Lord Stark returned from the battle and his mother saw Bael's head upon his spear, she threw herself from a tower in her grief. Her son did not long outlive her. Rhaegar left to fight in the War of the Usurper, lost and died. Lyanna died giving birth to Jon. And Jon died trying to save "Arya" from Ramsay.

This is what George means by a romantic love story.

And they also love Arya, because...Arya...looks like Lyanna

Or maybe we just like Arya because she's a fantastic character. Idk OP, could be that.

and isn't as hyper feminine as Sansa

This ties in quite well to the misogyny some "fans" of the series have to women like Arya. It's not because Sansa is "hyper feminine" that I don't care for her. I'm just indifferent to her. Femininity has absolutely nothing to do with it. I don't know if you know, but women can and do express themselves in different ways.

That is 100% the way George is taking R+L's story. This is quite literally his preferred telling of a romantic story. One where they share a brief affection for one another despite the eventual consequences, but end up separated, or worse.

Even though the point of Lyanna Stark is that her untold narrative is comparative to both Sansa and Arya

How is Lyanna's narrative comparative to Sansa? The only thing you've given was a non-parallel of being in the Red Keep/tower of joy, but there's nothing to suggest that Lyanna was trapped, beaten, or harmed there.

daenerys is not fireproof. those conditions were made due to the blood magic, in both times she is seen surviving fire in the show. but targaryens are not fireproof, but she does stand heat more than others and runs warmer too.

she resides in dragonstone while travelling in the north to help with the white walkers. her eyes are set in dorne first as well the news of aegon, her supposed nephew's arrival at the stormlands.

she wants a peaceful surrounding of king's landing. while she might use her dragons to attack the keep, there would be no attack to the citizens of king's landing themselves. she is not aware of the wildfire unless she is informed by jaime or others who know.

daenerys can have children, however, pregnancies are difficult to reach to term and she has to be careful, the years of inbred and her own worries about the maegi's curse.

daenerys will give the north it's independence if they support her claim and another pact of ice and fire would be made at this time.

her biggest conflict is at the moment at dorne and their support toward myrcella as well quentyn's death tarnishing a potential alliance.

one of the thing that worries daenerys the most is putting all the effort to regain the throne but unable to produce her own heirs. so she has to stablish a good line of succession if she is unable to have an heir.

mayor divergency, please read:

according to the drafts of the book in 1993 and 1994, the confrontation of drogo and viserys happens, and drogo kills viserys, dany is said to buy her time and eventually, kills drogo herself in revenge, after learning that drogo never intended to give them an army and basically "stole" and abused dany. she is joined in her escape with a few dothraki and her handmaidens and in a cave, she finds the dragon eggs.

I prefer the idea of dany finding the eggs or the eggs, finding her as well than just being gifted. a small change I do is that viserys is not dead, rather, he is alive, exiled, but he was left badly wounded by drogo. she still holds viserys accountable for selling her to drogo but upon seeing drogo's true colors and how he had no desire to help her and viserys go home, she snaps back to reality.

so this is not mad dany this is just dany reclaiming some of her power back and as in a hero's journey, her reward are the dragon eggs. she is found by the dothraki and tried to be burn alive with drogo's body and the eggs hatch at the same time as the book ends. the only difference is that dany doesn't have that many dothraki at her service. which i'm totally fine with.

The magical Intercontinental team

"Straight from the far north of Winterfell, weighing 72kg, the world's greatest female huntress…Lyanna Staaark!" With a grace worthy of the Maiden, the young player soared into the sky and with various high-speed pirouettes she positioned herself in the center of the field, above her infinite white and silver fireworks exploded in all their beauty. Gorgeous Lyanna wore her uniform with the wolf of her house carved into the leather of her breastplate, and her purple and green rose coat fell gently down to her legs. The number 02 stood out behind her jacket. Jon Snow, from the stands and sitting between John Cena, Batista and The Rock, felt smaller and smaller and less and less like a Stark in the face of such greatness.

"From our prestigious capital King's Landing, weighing 85kg, the prince of hunters, Rhaegaaaaar Targaryen!"

A blanket of black smoke spread across the field and magical red lights flashed like rubies in the night, and in a few seconds the legendary silver-haired Targaryen was in the center of the field on his faithful pitch-black broom, l 'uniform covered in purple and green flames with the number 03 on the back and the breastplate covered in draconic leather scales. Those who were more attentive to him glimpsed him greeting his young brothers in the stands with an elegant gesture of his hand.

“From Starfall castle, weighing 104kg, wunderkind batsman Arthur 'Bat of the Dawn' Dayne!”

The entire pitch lit up with a magical light, as purple fireworks and illusory shooting stars scattered across the sky, and the legendary Dorne batsman swooped down from the sky like a hawk on his prey, placing himself in center field next to his teammates. His uniform, completely purple and with a black interior, was studded with green and silver stars that seemed to shine as if in a night sky, and on the back he proudly wore the number 04.

Thousands of neon fuchsia fires exploded, opening one after the other into many small fractal hearts, which surrounded a larger one in the shape of a silver skull. The large and powerful woman set off fireworks directly from the broomstick with a decisive blow, and the crowd went into a frenzy. With an agile pirouette she positioned herself in the center of the field and raised a studded fist and her faithful black leather glove, setting off a myriad of other fires. Her tunic was almost all black, a serious contrast to those of her companions, and despite her width it clearly showed her colossal size and toned physique. The number 06 stood out on her back.

“From the deep south of Dorne, weighing 79kg, the phenomenal seeker, the red viper Oberyn Maaartell!”

From the sides of the field flames rose up into the sky, and with an impressive speed worthy of the best seeker in the world the wonderful young man from Dorne was in the middle of the field, his uniform decorated with an acid green viper that ran through it in its entirety. long-limbed and dangerous shape. The young seeker bowed and smiled bewitchingly to everyone, showing his number 07 proudly.

In a blanket of glitter and sequins the legendary captain darted by, immersed in the roar of the crowd who sang his official anthem. "If you talk about the Team, you think of Shawn Michaels! The shirt is the flag of this beautiful team! There is only one captain and you owe him respect! Shawn Michaels never touches himself!" the crowd chanted, while the captain in the center of the field showed off a dance in time with his skillful pelvis and winked and smiled dazzlingly left and right, showing off his powerful muscles. The legendary player wore his completely customized uniform, with a black coat with purple zebra stripes and green edges. The coat was held open on the chest, and adorned with chains that elegantly ran along his pectorals. His trousers were black and also zebra-striped, with white stripes, and decorated on the lower parts with his symbol, the broken heart. The coat, on the back, was still adorned with silver chains and the number 01 stood out with his autograph underneath.

While she’d done most of her rounds for the evening she was still keeping an eye out for anyone else that she knew or might have wanted to speak to. She was on her way to get herself a drink when she caught sight of one such person. “Jon.” Warm smile spread over rosy lips to match the brightness in her tone as she greeted them. She hadn’t been sure how many would attended given the circumstances of the last event hosted by one of them and she had been even less sure that Jon would be someone who would come. But she found herself being glad that they had and is quick to echo the sentiment. “I’m so glad you could make it.”  Even if it was a phrase she had been saying all evening this time she meant it. “I was just about to get a drink, would you join me?”

You want to know what I just realized? Season 8 proved Viserys right. All the shit about the Usurper's dogs, to not trust Starks or Lannisters. All those prejudices he instilled on Daenerys proved to be 100% true. If she hadn't trusted Tyrion, Jon, Cersei or the North she would still be alive. If she had attacked the capital right from the get go she would've won the war before it started. That's right the last season actually made Viserys right in some way.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

This may be the petty part of me but I want House of the Dragon to flop. They're basically shooting a dead horse in the face with this show. A show they made about a house they've already butchered. I don't care about the casting or the bad wigs I just want this to fail so HBO learns a lesson.

I am a dark skinned POC and the thing that kills me most about Anti Dany fans is that they infantalize the POC people that chose to follow and live for Dany.

The way anti Dany fans speak about freed men and women who chose dany as being “brainwashed into following a white savior” is colonialist and racist as fuck and I’m sick of it! Just because these POC were FORCED into slavery doesn’t mean that they are incapable of making their decisions AFTER they were freed! It reeks of “these poor savages that can’t make their OWN decisions, these poor dumb brutes” and I don’t think they realize how racist they sound.

It reminds me of when Missandei clapped back against Sansa in the crypt and Sansa fanqueens were all like “Missandei is a dumb brainwashed Stolkholm syndrome slave! Missandei MISUNDERSTOOD Sansa!” Which is HILARIOUSLY STUPID, considering that Missandei can literally speak 19 (19!) languages (like move over Samwell Tarly, there’s a new genius in town, and she’s got that black girl magic 🪄) and is Daenerys’ adviser. Missandei can speak more languages than season 8 Sansa has brain cells (RIP seasons 1-6 Sansa who used to be a kind, sweet badass in her own way, now she’s just Cersei 2.0) and apparently Sansa fans think that Missandei is too dumb to pick up on TONE.

The racism just jumped out from Sansa fans and I was horrified! What kills me the most is that if the Dothraki or Unsullied chose to fight for the Starks (because if the starks get advantages they DESERVE them, but if Dany does, she’s a “Mary sue” and “entitled bitch”) they wouldn’t care. It shows that they only care about POC as far as to weaponize us and I’m so done. It’s disgusting and needed to be said!

I couldn't agree more! They always try to make it seem that they weren't freed at all despite the fact Daenerys gave them a CHOICE! Some would say 'they didn't have anywhere else to go' uh yes they did but they CHOSE to the follow Dany. People trying to dumb them down so they could push their 'Daenerys is a master' narrative. It's just disgusting. As you said Missandei is a genius, she knows 19 languages, gives counsel to Daenerys and the people of Meereen trusted her as much as Daenerys. The Unsullied were taken as children to be trained as killing machines and to always be obedient but the moment they were freed they chose to follow Dany. Daenerys had them look within their own ranks to find someone who can lead them and chose Grey Worm who by the way was the best leader the Unsullied could've chosen. They obviously have the capability to make decisions on their own.

They want the slaves to be helpless, mindless victims under a manipulative queen but they are people. They are people with minds of their own and are choosing to put their faith in the woman who freed them. The fact that they try to diminish their choices with phrases like 'they don't know any better' is disgusting.

As for the Daenerys stuff I totally agree as well. Starks good, dragon lady bad thats their mentality. Even after the travesty that was that dumpster fire they still cling onto the idea that Dany will go mad and that the starks will save everyone. The 'Ice' in a song of Ice and Fire has been confirmed to be the the Others and the 'Fire' has been confirmed to be Dany and her dragons. The starks are prominent in the story but not title prominent.

She lived her childhood in squalor, homelessness and hunger. She knows that pain and hardship and seek to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. She stopped the Dothraki from raping women (She's imposing her foreign ideals on them!😒) she ends slavery (What about the economy and culture?🤢🤮) she had nothing to gain from this, only more hardship but she did it anyway because she knows what it's like to be starved, raped and sold but somehow they see all of this as her decent into madness. In contrast, the Starks (yes including Jon) were raises in a castle with food, servants and security. After everything goes to shit they do whatever it takes to survive weather it be going to war (Robb), playing the Game of Thrones (Sansa), kill to avenge their family (Arya), cutting someone's head off to show your authority (Jon) or believing in visions (Bran).

These are all understandable reactions to what happened to them but when Daenerys does it she's a tyrant who only wants power. She waged war against slavery (Robb), remained civil with her enemies (Sansa), plans to avenger her family (Arya), or when she even thinks for moment that Quathe's prophecies are true (Bran)

Fact is that there will always be a double standard against Daenerys and anyone associated with her.
