Chapter 1 - Wrap me in your arms
“You are wearing my cloak, Your Majesty.” said a familiar voice from behind her and Daenerys Targaryen smiled “And I see that my direwolf prefers your company over mine.”
She looked to the side where Ghost, his direwolf, lay asleep at her feet, sharing his body heat with her. Dany had been amazed the first time she saw Ghost. He was much bigger than she had imagined and, if she hadn't been used to living with gigantic animals, it would have been very difficult to get used to the direwolf following her everywhere as if he were her second shadow.
Dany heard his footsteps approaching her, and when he stood side by side with her before the weirwood tree, she said “I grew up and lived in Essos, Lord Snow. My body is not used to this climate and I fear that even my warmest clothes are not enough to keep me warm. And Ghost volunteered to keep me warm and your cape was abandoned in your study, so I assumed you didn't need it as much as I did.”
Only then did she look at him and see that he was already looking at her. There was something in his gray eyes. Pride? Satisfaction? Presumption? Definitely a mix of all three. Jon Snow was loving seeing her wearing his cape and being protected by his direwolf. And she couldn't deny that she was enjoying it too, to feel protected and cared for.
Not that she didn't feel protected by Ser Barristan and the others in her Queensguard, as well as her Bloodriders and her dragons. She knew that each of them would give their lives for hers, that they would follow her to the death, but the way she felt about Jon and Ghost was similar to the way she felt when Ser Willem or Viserys hugged her when she was a child. It was a feeling of belonging, as if she had finally found her place in the world.
“Even if I needed it, I wouldn’t dare take it from you, Your Majesty.” he said.
She drew his cloak even tighter around her body so that only her face was still exposed to the cold wind and his watchful gray eyes followed her every movement.
“You look adorable, my queen.” he added in a flirtatious tone and there was adoration in his eyes.
Dany felt her cheeks heating up and gave him a shy smile, feeling more like a shy and inexperienced girl in front of her first love than what she really was: a queen who had brought dragons back to the world, freed slaves and convinced the Dothraki warriors to cross the narrow sea talking to one of her vassals.
That must have been the reaction he was hoping to elicit from her, for he gave her a satisfied smile as he watched her with his hungry gray eyes.
“If it is to your liking, I will ask that clothes more appropriate for the cold of the North be arranged for you, Your Majesty, and your handmaids. I believe they are experiencing the same inconvenience.” he offered in a courteous tone.
“I appreciate your kindness, my Lord.” she said with a grateful smile “I will continue using your cloak for now. I promised Lady Arya I'd take her flying this afternoon, and even riding a dragon, I'm going to need the extra heat up there.”
Since her arrival in the North, she used to fly every day with her dragons both to reconnoitre the region and for her dragons to familiarize themselves with the territory and Arya, as her guide, almost always accompanied her.
He smiled when he heard her mention his sister and her heart skipped a beat.
“She told me about it. I have never seen her so excited in my entire life.” he commented in a tender and caring tone.
From the first moment she saw Jon Snow, the then King in the North, and Arya Stark, standing in Dragonstone's throne room, Dany knew they were very attached to each other. If she hadn't known beforehand who they were, she would have thought they were twin sibilings due to their physical resemblance and the fact that they seemed to move in sync with each other. And the weeks that passed between that first meeting and now had only reinforced that impression.
She couldn't deny that she had felt a little envious of their relationship in the early days. While Jon would give his own life to protect his little sister and Arya would also not hesitate to kill anyone who tried to hurt her family, especially Jon, Viserys had sold her and would not hesitate to hurt and sacrifice her if it would bring him closer to getting back the throne of Westeros. Jon was extremely protective and affectionate towards Arya and she shared the same characteristics as her brother, not to mention that they were so in tune with each other that they even used to finish each other's sentences.
Dany had never had a relationship like that with her brother or anyone else really, but during their stay at Dragonstone, Dany and Arya had become very close, shared stories of the journey that had led them there, and quickly realized that they had a lot in common. In one of their first conversations alone, the northern girl had confided that she had been very happy when she heard what Dany had done in what was now called the Bay of Dragons.
The girl was intelligent and cunning and her ferocity soon won over her Bloodriders to the point that Arya managed to convince them to teach her how to wield an arakh and how to fight on horseback like a Dothraki warrior. Perhaps because they were the same age, Arya and Missandei had gotten along very well and the scribe had taken upon herself the task of teaching her Dothraki and perfecting her High Valyrian and Arya, in return, was teaching her everything she knew about Westeros.
After everything the two had told her about the threat beyond the Wall and shown her, even Dany herself had decided it was time to learn how to wield a sword and the two siblings had helped with her training along with Ser Barristan. Not to mention that seeing with her own eyes one of the creatures they had taken with them to Dragonstone had made it abundantly clear that they needed to unify Westeros as quickly as possible or they would have no chance of saving its people.
“This cloak is from my time as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, made to keep us warm even in the cold beyond the Wall.” he explained “I would be honored if you accepted it as a gift.” he offered. “I can ask one of our seamstresses to adjust it to your size.”
He knew her own handmaids could make the adjustments, but she was happy for his concern and care.
Dany gave him a grateful smile “I accept the gift and don't worry about the adjustments. It is perfect the way it is.”
I want everyone who sees me with it to know that it is yours., she thought, but didn't speak.
She saw his cheeks redden and he said, “As you wish, Dany.”
The memory of a stormy night in Dragonstone filled her mind when she heard him call her that way.
Jon had bent the knee a few days ago and, like his sister, was helping her with her plan to take back the Iron Throne and unify Westeros before she could focus all her attention and resources on the war in the North. She was in the Chamber of the Painted Table watching the storm, her thoughts going over the stories her brother and Ser Willem had told about her birth and about Westeros and, because of that and of the noise of the storm, Dany hadn't heard Jon come in and approach her until he was practically beside her. She had seen his shadow before she saw him, and for a few seconds she had feared that some assassin sent by her enemies had managed to get past her guards and get to her. But then she recognized him and felt her body relax and fill with relief.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, my Queen.” he had said “The guards let me in and you seemed lost in your thoughts when I entered.”
She had given him a smile and nodded before asking “What brings you here so late, my Lord?”
“I wanted to inform you that we have started mining obsidian.” he had replied “If we can keep up the pace we will be able to send the first shipment to the North in a week. And, as soon as weapons are ready, we can start distributing them among the brothers of the Watch in the castles spread across the Wall.”
The Night's Watch and the Wall were their first line of defense against the Others, and so they had agreed that they should send the obsidian there first.
She nodded and lightning struck near the window, scaring them both. Perhaps out of battle reflex or just instinct, Jon had pulled her away from the window and kept her pressed against his body until he realized what he had done. But instead of letting her go, he had looked into her eyes as the rumble of thunder roared around them and reverberated through the castle.
There was something so familiar about his face and his eyes, something that made her feel drawn to him in a way she had never felt drawn to anyone else before. With his arms wrapped around her body, Dany felt safe, as if she had finally found something she had been searching for for as long as she could remember: her home.
Her hands that had rested on his chest slowly slid up to his neck, her eyes never leaving his, and she heard herself asking, “Kiss me, Jon.”
His eyes widened and he looked at her lips and back to her eyes before saying in a voice barely audible over the noise of the storm, “I'm afraid I won't be able to stop if I kiss you, Dany.”
She felt a shiver run through her body when she heard it and said “I’m willing to take the risk if you are too.”
Jon looked into her eyes while one of his hands rested on her cheek and his thumb slowly traced the outline of her lower lip. Slowly, perhaps to give her the chance to stop him, Jon leaned toward her and Dany stood on tiptoe to meet him halfway. Their lips met and Jon pressed his own against hers slowly, in a chaste, hesitant kiss, as if he was afraid she would disappear. Her fingers intertwined with his hair and she pressed him against her, giving him access to her mouth and intensifying the kiss.
He then kissed her so desperately, her body curving and molding to his, that it made her feel scared for a few seconds, but then she realized that this was exactly what she wanted and kissed him back with the same desperation. Without breaking the kiss, Jon's arms wrapped around her waist and then he lifted her off the floor and sat her on the edge of the Painted Table.
Jon had broken the kiss and whispered against her lips. “I've wanted to do this since the first moment I saw you sitting on that throne.”
She had smiled and her heart had been beating so fast that she had feared it would burn a hole in her chest and throw itself into his hands. Before she could say anything, Jon had kissed her again and any rational thought had left her mind. For a few minutes, or perhaps hours, they both laid aside the heavy burdens of leadership and survival in Westeros and allowed themselves to be just a girl and a boy experiencing the taste of their first kisses and with their entire lives ahead of them. They did nothing but exchange fiery kisses and sizzling caresses that night, even though they were both burning with desire.
And from the way he looked at her now she had no doubt that he was remembering the same thing as her.
Would it be disrespectful to the old gods if I kissed him there in that sacred place?, she thought, looking quickly at the weirwood tree and then at his lips.
As if he could read her thoughts, Jon closed the distance between them and kissed her. Before she could even think about reacting, her arms had already wrapped around his neck and she returned the kiss with enthusiasm. Dany wished they were somewhere more private, preferably with a bed, as her body burned.
In the weeks that passed until their arrival at Winterfell they had little chance to be alone and, in the rare moments when this happened, on the rare occasions when they could touch each other freely, someone always interrupted them before they had time to do anything other than exchange passionate kisses and sizzling caresses. And since their arrival at Winterfell almost a week ago, this was the first time they had been able to be alone.
This time they were interrupted by Ghost. The direwolf growled softly and the two broke the kiss.
“Someone is coming this way.” he explained looking towards the entrance of the godswood.
Dany couldn't see anyone, but she knew a lot about the strong connection that there was between Jon and Ghost, how he could enter the direwolf's mind, and that at that moment, Jon probably already knew who was approaching because Ghost knew who it was from their scent.
She nodded and forced herself to take a step away from him, her body already missing the warmth of his and his lips against hers.
“Aren’t you afraid of offending your gods?” she asked.
He looked at the weirwood tree and looked at her. “I’m not. I'm sure they've seen a lot worse than a man and a woman kissing, Dany.” he replied and gave her a suggestive smile. “As the gods of nature, anything we do before them would be seen as natural by them.”
A few seconds later Jon's younger brother, Lord Rickon, accompanied by his direwolf, joined them.
The boy greeted them and said “A raven arrived from King’s Landing and Sam asked me to give it to one of you.”
He handed the message to his brother, Jon took the small scroll and, after reading the message, said “Lady Brienne has written to let us know that she, Ser Jaime and the Southern army are ready and will leave for the North tomorrow. She also reports the number of men they had managed to gather.”
The Tyrell and Martell had allied with her even before she left Essos, and with the threat beyond the Wall, they also understood that Westeros needed to unite to survive. The army of Dorne had arrived in King's Landing three days earlier and the army of the West was to join them at the Trident.
She nodded. “We’d better inform the others.” she said.
“Arya is in the training yard with Osha, Meera and Missandei. Bran is with Sam. And Ser Davos, Ser Barristan and Lord Tyrion are with Gendry at the Forge.” informed Rickon “I’ll call them.”
“Thank you brother.” said Jon and the boy ran through the godswood with his direwolf in pursuit.
Jon had lost his older siblings, the brother had been betrayed by his vassals and the sister, after betraying her own family, had been executed in the Valley accused of treason and murder. But he had managed to find the three youngest again and, little by little, they were remaking their bonds and relearning how to be a family.
Dany smiled as Jon took her hand and placed a kiss on her gloved palm. It was easy to pretend there wasn't a war ahead as they walked back to the fortress hand in hand.
---
Hours had passed since their meeting in the godswood and Dany could still feel the feeling of his lips against hers, the heat of his body against hers. Not even the adrenaline of flying with her dragons through the Northern skies had managed to dull the memory of the warmth of his skin against hers.
She thought about going to him, but she didn't know if he was in his quarters or somewhere else in the fortress. She looked at the direwolf lying comfortably in front of the fireplace and had an idea.
She went to him, knelt down and said “Ghost, I need your help.” the direwolf immediately focused his attention on her and Dany continued “I need you to find Jon and bring him to me.”
Ghost got up and walked to the closed door. Before allowing him to leave, she stroked his ear and repeated, “Bring Jon to me.”
The animal licked her hand and she let him out. She told her guards that she was waiting for Jon and that they should allow him to pass.
Dany took a deep breath, feeling nervousness begin to spread through her body. To fend it off and continue carrying out her plan, Dany took a sip of mulled wine. The heat from the drink helped her and she began to take off her clothes. When she finished she undid the braid Irri had made and placed Jon's cape over her naked body. About fifteen minutes later she heard a light scratching at her door followed by the voice of a confused Jon. She smiled and opened the door.
“I’m sorry, Your Majesty.” he said “Ghost practically dragged me here.”
She looked at the direwolf who was watching them intently and said, “Thank you for the favor, Ghost.” she patted his head “You’re a great boy!”
Jon watched the scene looking even more confused, which made her conclude that Ghost hadn't let him see what she had asked him to do, and she gestured for him to come inside. He complied and, after closing and locking the door, she turned to him and explained “I asked Ghost to bring you to me.”
His face filled with concern “Did something happen, Dany? Was someone disrespectful to you?”
She gave him a serene smile. “No, everyone has treated me with the respect and deference that their queen deserves.” she replied “Actually I need your help.”
"Anything." he said.
She looked him in the eyes for a few seconds and took a step and then another towards him. “I need help taking off your cloak.” she said in an innocent tone and his eyes fell on the strings that held the cloak together. The cape was held in place by a simple loop and all he had to do was pull one of its ends to release it.
The two were silent for what seemed like an eternity and her heart quickened when his eyes met hers. With two steps Jon closed the distance between them, his eyes still on hers. Her body immediately reacted to the proximity of his. Slowly, Jon brought his hands to the strings of his cloak and, only then, did his gaze shift to the task. He held both ends of the bow while Dany kept her eyes on his face and could see that his cheeks were flushed.
Triumph filled her body as Jon pulled on both ends of the noose and Dany let the cape fall behind her. His eyes widened when he saw that she was naked and she smiled with satisfaction when his gaze slowly wandered over her naked body, as if he were memorizing every detail. Even though the room was warm, Dany felt her body shiver when his eyes met hers again.
She saw Jon swallow hard before saying, “May I be of further service to you, my Queen?”
“Oh, I do not wish to prevent you from returning to your responsibilities, my Lord.” she replied in an innocent tone.
Jon gave her a mischievous smile before saying “There is nothing more important at the moment than serving my queen in whatever she needs.”
She smiled in satisfaction. “In that case, I would love for you to help me finish what we started so many months ago on that stormy night in Dragonstone.”
Jon gave her an incendiary smile before saying, “Your wish is my command, my Queen.” he closed the distance between them, placed his hands on her face and whispered “My Dany.”
Being called that way made her feel wanted and safe and her body shuddered when his lips touched the skin of her neck. Jon placed soft kisses on her skin interspersed with whispers of 'my Dany', his hands caressing her waist and when he knelt before her, she looked at him in confusion.
He gave her a serene smile before saying, “Let me worship you like the goddess you are.” She nodded and he kissed the valley between her breasts.
His warm, soft lips against her skin left a trail of heat as he trailed down her abdomen and lower and lower, past her belly until he reached the silvery hairs between her legs. Jon looked at her, his fully dilated pupils made him even more beautiful, and said, “I have fantasized and dreamed of this moment so many times.”
That was one more thing they had in common. She had been attracted to him from the moment she saw him and after what happened between them that stormy night in Dragonstone she had spent a lot of time daydreaming and fantasizing about the man on his knees before her. However, none of her fantasies had come close to the perfection of what was happening.
“You weren’t the only one who spent hours awake fantasizing.” she admitted and Jon gave her a smile that almost made her heart stop.
His lips kissed her thighs and Dany felt the wetness between her legs increasing. She moaned softly when he used his tongue to lick up that wetness and before she could recover, Jon focused his attention on her clit. It didn't take long for his attention and skill to bring her to orgasm and Jon held her while Dany let herself be swept away by the wave of pleasure. When she opened her eyes, Jon was still on his knees watching her with a proud smile and hungry eyes.
“You’re so sweet, Dany.” he said.
Her hands cupped his face and she leaned in to kiss him.
“I knew you were a man of many talents, Jon.” she said against his lips “But I never knew your tongue was so good at anything other than convincing people to do things your way.” Jon smiled against her lips and she continued, “I can't help but wonder what other surprises you hide.” she kissed him once more before helping him up and said, “You’re still wearing too many layers, Jon.”
“You distracted me.” he said with a satisfied smile.
Dany helped him undress and, if she hadn't already known about their existence and the story behind them, seeing his scars, especially the one over his heart, would have distracted her from her task of filling every bit of his exposed skin with kisses. Jon kissed her again when they finally freed him of all his clothes. Without breaking the kiss, Jon took her in his arms and carried her to the bed. He placed her on the furs carefully, as if she were something fragile, precious.
“You're so beautiful that sometimes I'm afraid you're not real. I'm afraid this is all a dream and I'll wake up back on the Wall.” he said.
She reached out, brushed his hair away from his face and placed her hand on his cheek. “I'm real and I'm exactly where I belong. Here with you."
Jon blushed, turned his head and placed a kiss on her palm.
“Do you have any idea the effect you have on me?” he asked, looking into her eyes “Do you have any idea how many times I wanted to devour you in front of everyone?”
She smiled, took his hand and slowly guided it to her wet pussy. His eyes widened when his fingers felt her wetness.
“I guess that makes us even, don’t you?”
His hand remained there and his fingers began to trace her wet folds and spread her open, leaving her center exposed for his exploration. Her hand found his member and she grabbed it at the base and her hand slid to the tip, feeling it get even harder under her touch. He moaned, kissed her lips and then her neck and as he kissed her, she guided the head of his member to her wet folds and passed it between them a few times, spreading her wetness on it. Jon gave another moan when she positioned his member at her entrance.
He looked into her eyes before slowly entering until his member was completely buried inside her and they both stared at each other as her body adjusted. Her legs wrapped around his hips and they made love looking into each other's eyes until they both reached their climaxes within seconds of each other.
Jon held her in his arms as they both caught their breath and she felt herself freeze when she heard him whisper against her hair. “I love you, Dany.”
Until that moment, Daenerys Targaryen hadn't thought about putting a name to the feeling she had for him, but love seemed like a good name. It seemed like the right name.
She pulled away from him and looked him in the eyes “Jon? What did you just say…” she started to say but stopped when his eyes widened and he tensed.
“I should go, Your Majesty.” he said, sitting on the bed “It won't be good for the future of your alliances for people to know that you shared your bed with a vassal. Especially a bastard like me.”
“Let me worry about my future alliances, Jon.” she asked “Being a bastard or not doesn’t make you lesser than others nor does it diminish everything I feel for you.”
“But I…” he began, but she silenced him with a kiss and he let her make him lie down again.
“I propose that, for now, we worry about surviving.” she suggested as their lips parted and she looked into his eyes before adding, “And know that I love you too.”
Jon stared at her with wide eyes filled with a mix of hope and disbelief “You love me?”
She smiled and nodded “I love you.”
Jon gave her the sweetest of smiles, and when he kissed her and made her feel like the most loved and precious person in the world, Daenerys knew that if they survived the coming war, nothing in the world would make her give him up.

The Summer Before
Sneak Peek of Chpt 4- Jersey Giant
Jonerys Sultry Summer 2023: Day 5- Free Choice
Sneak Peek below the cut!
“Fine, Dany. I love you. I have loved you since I first saw you and you dropped a $20 dollar bill in my tip jar which was more than I made in tips a night for the rest of the summer. And you smiled back at me when you were on your way out the door and you still had braces and you were the prettiest girl I had ever seen. I loved you when I rambled about stars for way too long because you’re so smart and I couldn’t think of anything else to say to impress you.”
She laughed, tears streaming down her face, because she had been so impressed by his knowledge of the stars. And she didn’t even think he remembered her from the first summer. They’d never talked about it. Only laughed about what was really their second meeting when she had stalked to the stage and critiqued his singing and wrote her number on a five-dollar bill.
“Then we made love last summer and I didn’t think I could love you more. I couldn't stop loving you, even if I tried. And I did try for some time. But it didn't work.”
His eyes were glassy and even through her blurry vision she could see how he shook from his confession. So she cried. She didn’t know what else to do but cry and mourn the months of separation and the months they could have been loving each other instead of trying to be normal teenagers who went on dates with other people and kissed and had sex with other people.
“I wish I never said I’d be your friend,’ she sniffed.
“You’re a shitty friend, Dany,” he laughed. Her lips trembled, but laughter poured out anyways. He was right.

Jon eyed the book in Ned's hands. It was thick and bound in aged, brown leather, with a satchel closing. He shifted it to one hand nervously.
“Jon, my dear nephew. The simple fact is that the men in your family…” He trailed off.  “Some have had the ability to…”
When he trailed off again, Jon grinned, amused. “Sounds strange already.”
“Oh yes,” Uncle chuckled, gesturing widely, “be prepared for strange. Be prepared for spookiness.”
“It’s coming isn’t it? It’s on the tip of your tongue.”
His humor calmed when the book was finally passed to him. On a closer look, Jon was certain he had never noticed it crammed into the bookshelf he knew so well. Returning to the bookshelf, Ned continued.
“You’re twenty-one now.”
“Indeed I am. So old. Might as well roll over and die.”
Ned faced him with another unfamiliar item. It was a booklet of DVDs and CDs, one that made Jon’s heart speed up as it was zipped open. His uncle sucked a breath between his teeth.
“Don’t die yet. There’s so much more for you to learn. And do.” He slipped a disk out and passed it to Jon. “I suppose it’s time to tell you now.”
Frowning, Jon looked down. He gasped at the handwritten note, as Ned’s words sprung out of him, like water from a fountain.
To Jon, from your father, R.
“There is a family secret. On your father’s side. And the secret is that firstborn sons can travel in time. Well, back in time, to be specific. Not the future.”
Jon was so confused. “This is such a weird joke.” But he didn’t want to let go of the disk.
“It’s seriously not a joke.”

Jon never had much luck with love. Not even time travel could help that. He’s all but given up, when he meets Daenerys a week before Christmas. When their instant connection is thwarted by a change in fate, can Jon find a way to get the girl of his dreams?  -An About Time AU-

Jonerys Sultry Summer 2023 | Day 5: Free Choice ❤️ 🏝️ ❄️ | a teaser
I have the first chapter almost done for this fic, inspired by the book “Babymoon or Bust” which my bestie @youwerenevermine recommended to me. It’s totally Jonerys!
Lovely Erika also has a series of MBs for this prompt, see here!
"Daenerys Targaryen. You did say your name was a mouthful."
The sinking sensation gave way to weak knees, and a cold sweat broke out over her, followed immediately by cascading waves of memories.
A low, shy laugh like a dog bark.
A half smile with eyes that still crinkled in the corner.
Lips so sinfully sweet she wanted to cry when he kissed her the first time, hands plunging through her hair, holding her against him.
She swallowed the dry lump in her throat, trying to breathe, if not for her sake than for little Wolfie's sake. Gods knew oxygen was a requirement at this point, more than it ever was before, but of course she was struggling, because he was here.
"You," she gasped, because she couldn't think of anything else.
The memories kept flashing in front of her, blinding her. Even if they weren't, his very presence took up her entire vision. He wasn't a tall man, but he just....was there.
All hard muscle and black jeans and black shirt and...soft black hair tied in a knot at the base of his neck, and his scruffy beard scratching at her hands and.... Fuck! Dany did the best she could, standing as straight as a six-month pregnant belly allowed her while also tottering in her wedges. She clutched her bags to her, trying to seem bigger.
The beach ball on her waist might help with that. "What are you doing here?" she stammered.
The man pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and hit a button on it, lifting it to her. It was a voice memo. Except the voice coming out of the phone belonged to the woman who Dany was going to murder the first chance she got.
"Hey sweets, I know you got my text message, but just in case, here's a bit of insurance. Ran into this hunk banging on your front door about a week ago and convinced him to take my place on the trip. Trust me, hear him out, and I love you! Kisses!"
"She's dead," Dany ground out, glaring at the phone.
The man chuckled, replacing the phone into his pocket. "She was convincing, I'll give her that." He stared at her a moment, his bright gray eyes traveling from the top of her silver hair down to the coral-painted toenails peeking from her espadrilles.
He exhaled hard, his dark brows arching. "I think we need to talk, Daenerys Targaryen."
Her lips pursed. "Well since you followed me here...fine...Mr...." She tinged pink. How was it that the man in front of her had given her the best night of her life, absolutely fucked her to oblivion, with the most for curling orgasms, not to mention impregnated her and she didn't even know his name?
Because you guys said no names, no personal details, just one night, that was it. No harm, no foul.
Until the positive pregnancy test a few weeks later.
The man flashed a hard smile. It didn't quite meet his eyes. "Jon. Jon Snow."

Daenerys Targaryen awoke from her recurring dream and once again she was unable to see her lover's face clearly.
Although she knew he was young and handsome, his face remained a shifting shadow. She knew he had a long face and dark brown hair. She knew he was strong because of how he held her against his muscular body. She knew he had soft lips because she always woke up to the warm feeling of them on her skin, on her lips.
She stretched and snuggled into her seat as the last images of her dream flashed through her mind. Dany didn't remember when she had first had that dream, but she was sure she had started dreaming about him when she was a teenager and she had thought the dream was a product of her hormonal body, however, now s he was an adult woman and the dream had accompanied her until now. Despite having the same dream for so many years, she had no idea what its meaning was. Maybe it was nothing more than a dream. Maybe it was just her imagination. Maybe it was some kind of premonition showing her what the future held for her .
After a long yawn, she looked out the window of the bus she was traveling on. Outside, the day had turned into night and the vehicle continued calmly along the road while a light rain fell. Trying to relax, Dany took out her cell phone and headphones, put some soft music on and tried to focus her thoughts on what awaited her. By her count, there was more than half the way to reach her first destination, a village called Winter Town that was a few kilometers from the largest city in the North, Winterfell.
Daenerys loved flying, but always chose to travel by bus when she was doing research for her books. Dany had become famous because of her stories based on both legends and historical facts and she always tried to reinterpret them, highlight a darker aspect, explore the role of secondary characters in her books. She found traveling on the road relaxing, and for a writer, it was always good to have new experiences and see the place where she planned to set her story. And, because of the way she wrote, it was always good to research the places where the historical event happened or where the legend originated or was most famous.
For some time she had been wanting to revisit the history and ancient legends of the North, especially those related to the Long Night, the Wall and the Others. She had read about the period called the Long Night and was fascinated by everything involved. First she thought about focusing on the story of Azor Ahai and Nissa Nissa, but she fell in love with the story of the Night's King and his Corpse Queen. Because of them, she ended up delving deeper into history and became fascinated by the idea that a species like the Others existed. There was proof of the existence of the Children of the Forest and that they had fought humanoid creatures alongside the First Men and she wanted to see them in person, so she was on her way to where, according to the history, all the armies of Westeros had gathered to fight the Others.
According to the story, two Long Nights had happened and Dany was planning to write her story from the Others' point of view, exploring their motivations and their culture. Dany would begin her research from Winter Town and travel north. She would stay for a few days in a small town called Mole's Town, a few kilometers from the Wall, and pay a visit to Castle Black, the main castle on the Wall. Then she would continue her journey until arriving in the city of Hardhome located on the tip of the peninsula Storrold's Point on the Shivering Sea. There was a museum in Hardhome with an exhibition of weapons, armor and other artifacts that were supposedly produced and belonged to the Others. There were caves, known as screaming caves, with drawings similar to those found in the caves in Dragonstone that could be visited by tourists and she was quite excited about the idea of being able to explore them.
She would also like to visit the Lands of Always Winter, which was where legends said the Others came from, but as it was a little-known region, she would need to hire a team with experience in excursions in that region and thought it best to focus her research in places where access was easier. Depending on the success or failure of her research, she planned to either stay in one of the cities to begin writing or return to King's Landing by ship.
The bus slowed down and stopped on the side of the road and that brought her out of her thoughts. The lights inside the bus came on and after a few seconds a new passenger entered. Her heart sped up when she saw him. The stranger had the same long, brown hair and the same long, pale face as the man in her dream. He was dressed in black from head to toe and carried a dark gray backpack with him.
Dany watched him curiously when their eyes met. His eyes widened when they fell on her face and he looked at her as if recognizing the face of an old friend and gave her a polite smile. Without hesitation, Dany returned the smile and continued to watch him as he looked for an empty place to sit. His long dark hair was wet from the rain and his eyes were dark gray and looked mysterious and intelligent in the dim lighting of the bus.
She glanced quickly at the man asleep in the seat next to her and it was impossible not to lament the fact that the seat was occupied. She didn't know exactly what she would do if the stranger sat next to her. It wouldn't seem very sane of her to say, 'Hi, I know we just met, but I'm pretty sure you're the man of my dreams'. After a few seconds of assessing the sleeping people and the vacant seats, the new passenger decided to sit in the vacant seat in front of her.
Resigning herself to the situation, she turned up the music and closed her eyes. Her mind, as always, began to create possible plots, characters and backstories for each of them and, slowly, she began to let herself be carried away by the drowsiness that the movement of the bus and the sound of the rain caused. She woke up to the noise of passengers disembarking and saw that the bus had stopped at a roadside restaurant, where they would have about a forty-minute break. The passengers who had woken up disembarked, looking relieved to finally be able to stretch their legs and look for something to eat, but she was more interested in drinking something, preferably water. Even her seatmate had already disembarked and, after grabbing her bag, she followed the flow of passengers.
After going to the bathroom, a sleepy attendant answered her request and gave her a bottle of water. The other passengers chatted sleepily in small groups, but she looked for an empty table outside. She observed the scenery around her and took out her notebook to make some notes about the place and she was distracted writing down the ideas she had on the bus when someone stopped next to her table and said “Excuse me?”
Dany was startled by the sudden interruption and when she looked up she found the new passenger's mysterious gray eyes staring at her. There was a reddish glow to them, but she couldn't tell if it was because of the light in the place or not.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” he said with a small smile and she felt her heart beat faster.
“It’s fine.” she said, her voice rough from sleep and cleared her throat. “I was just a little distracted.”
"Can I?" he asked, pointing to the unoccupied chairs.
"Of course." she replied, indicating the chair in front of her.
But instead of sitting in the place she indicated, he sat in the chair next to her and smiled. His smile, seen from so close up, was simply mesmerizing.
He placed his cup on the table and his backpack on one of the chairs before continuing, "I'm sorry to bother you, but... You're Daenys Stormborn, the writer, aren't you?"
Being recognized surprised her and it took her some time to respond “Yes. I am."
That wasn't her real name. She had chosen it as a pseudonym when she began writing and publishing her stories. Her family was one of the richest in King's Landing and she had decided not to use her real name to avoid people linking her name to her father's.
The stranger stared at her with his mouth open and seemed amazed. Despite being used to being approached by enthusiastic and affectionate fans, she felt her cheeks heating up.
“It is an indescribable pleasure to meet you in person! I’ve read all your books and I dare to tell you that I’m your biggest fan!” he said enthusiastically before asking, “Can you sign my copy?”
She couldn't help but smile. It was exciting when one of her fans recognized her and asked for an autograph. And it was even surprising, in fact, that they recognized her, because the photo on the back cover of the books was so different from who she was that even she had difficulty recognizing herself. She did this on purpose so that it would be more difficult to see the color of her eyes and hair and identify her as a Targaryen. Of course, she took photos with her fans, especially during the launches of her books and at literary events, but not everyone recognized her immediately.
"Sure. It will be a pleasure.”
He picked up his backpack and took out a copy of her latest book and handed it to her. Dany gave him a grateful smile and asked “What’s your name?”
“Jon Snow.” he replied with a smile that made her heart skip a beat and his voice made her skin tingle.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jon Snow.” she said in an unconsciously flirtatious tone.
She opened the book and wrote: To Jon Snow, my biggest fan in the whole world. With great affection and friendship. Daenys Stormborn.
He smiled when she gave him the book back and read what she wrote. She saw him run his finger lightly over what she had written, as if he wanted to make sure it was real.
“Thank you so much, I always wanted your autograph, but I never got to meet you in person.” he confessed with a smile.
“It's always a delight to meet such a kind fan.” she said “From your accent, I gather that you are a northerner.”
He smiled and nodded “ A ye. I was born in Dorne, actually, but was brought to the North when I was a month old and raised here. I was visiting some friends in Greywater and I'm heading home to Winterfell. I should have come back yesterday, but I ended up not being able to. Now I have to thank the old gods, because if I had returned yesterday, I wouldn’t have met you .” he said and then added in a curious tone “And it was really a surprise to meet you here, as I read that you were on vacation in Pentos.”
She gave him a small smile. “If people know I'm in one place and see me in another, they'll think I'm just someone who looks like me.”
“Very clever.” he commented “I guarantee your secret is safe with me.”
An icy wind blew and Dany ran her hands over her arms. Without hesitation Jon took off his hoodie and offered it to her.
"It is not necessary." she said.
“Please, I insist.” he said and she accepted. When she put it on, the residual heat from Jon's body enveloped her like a hug.
Jon gave her a look full of pride and satisfaction when he saw her wearing something of his and Dany felt her cheeks heating up. She remembered the dream once again and, before she could say anything about it to Jon, she forced herself to pay attention to him and was about to ask him about the red glow in his eyes when he said, “Excuse my curiosity, but I need to ask. Are you planning on releasing any books soon?”
Danny smiled. This was one of the questions most asked by her fans, both in person and through social media and correspondence. She didn't usually talk about her new projects, just as she didn't talk about her private life, but seeing a fan so happy to have gotten a simple autograph made her want to share something more with him.
“I’m actually traveling to do research for my next book.”
His eyes lit up with curiosity and expectation. “Will your next book be set in the North?”
"Yes." she replied in a conspiratorial tone “I have wanted to write something about the Long Night, the Wall and the Others for a long time. I want to see the battle sites in person and hear what people have to say about the legend mainly involving the Others and the Night King and his Queen.” she continued “Do you know their legend?”
Jon nodded and replied “Every northerner knows it. Certainly older people will tell you different versions of it.”
“That’s what I hope. I have already read the official sources and now I want to hear about the legends and mysteries surrounding these events and the places where they happened.”
He smiled. “I admit I'm already looking forward to reading what you're going to write about them.”
Dany gave him a grateful smile before commenting, “Well, I might change my mind if something more interesting catches my eye.”
His eyes lit up at her words and he nodded before saying, “As a fan of your stories, I know you enjoy exploring lesser-known facets of legends and stories.” she nodded and he asked "Have you heard about the wargs?"
“Wargs?” she asked, intrigued.
He nodded “They were an important part of the army that fought against the Others during the second Long Night . In the South people call them werewolves.”
“I've heard about werewolves, but I confess this is the first time I've heard about wargs.”
“What about skinchangers or greenseers?”
She shook her head “Also no.” she replied and wrote down the three terms in her notebook. As soon as possible she would definitely research about them.
Jon leaned closer to her and asked, "Have you ever read about Robb Stark, the second-to-last King in the North who became known as the Young Wolf?"
Dany nodded and said what she had learned in her research into the history of the North. “According to the official story, he went into battle alongside his direwolf, Gray Wind. He won every battle before he was betrayed and murdered and people thought he won because he turned into a wolf and commanded an army of wolves when he went into battle.”
"You are right." he said with a proud smile “Robb Stark was a warg and many thought the men in his army were too.”
“You mean he could, in fact, turn into a wolf?”
“No, but he could enter the mind of his direwolf and control the animal.” he replied and added “He and his brothers and sisters were wargs, although Arya and Brandon were considered skinchangers because they could enter the minds of animals other than their direwolves.”
Her curiosity awoke and she said “You managed to pique my interest.”
He gave her a satisfied smile, brought his face closer to hers and whispered, “They say there are still wargs and skinchangers out there.”
Dany looked at him for a few seconds before saying, “Really? And are they dangerous?”
He studied her for a few seconds and asked “How about I tell you what I know and you decide?” she nodded and he smiled before continuing “The wolf swood is full of mysteries and they say there is a creature out there, unlike anything you have ever seen before. He is known as Varamyr Sixskins and lived around the beginning of the second Long Night. He was one of the most powerful skinchangers who ever lived and he was called Sixskins because that was how many animals he could control. He was feared and hated by many of the freefolk and, when he was injured during a fight against some men from the Night's Watch, he tried to transfer his mind into the body of a woman who was tending to his wounds before he died and, when he was unable to do so, he transferred his mind to one of his wolves. Since then, he has survived like this, transferring his consciousness from animal to animal, searching for a human he can control. But each time he switched bodies, he lost a bit of his memory and his humanity, until the only thing that was left of Varamyr was his desire to live as a human again.”
"Interesting." she commented.
“And there is more.” Jon looked across the road and continued “There are reports of people who mysteriously disappear and only reappear days or weeks later, completely mad, wandering along the road.” he fixed his gray eyes on hers before continuing “Several abandoned vehicles have been found, bathed in blood, clothes torn, but they have never found any bodies, or any clue as to what happened to them.”
“They never found anyone?”
"Never. Not even any proof that they are actually dead.”
Dany imagined that scenario, imagined the beast, what it would be like to meet it in person and commented “It's good that we're traveling by bus.”
“Such a creature, if it truly exists, would be capable of attacking anything it wanted.”
She looked at him and there was a strange gleam in his eyes. Dany felt her skin tingle and ran her hands over her arms. Jon watched her and asked “Did I scare you?”
She gave him a fake look of disapproval and replied, “I’d say you managed to scare me while also making me curious.”
Jon gave her a satisfied smile and said “Don’t worry. Although Varamyr did indeed exist and was a warg and a skinchanger, this story is told by elders only to scare children and keep them away from the forest.”
Before she could say anything, the driver got on the bus and honked twice, signaling that the stopping time was over and that everyone should get back on the bus.
They both stood up and he said “I’m so glad I got to meet you in person.”
“I'm also happy to meet you, Jon.” she said and tried to return his hoodie, but he stopped her.
“No need, you can keep it.” he said and then added “That way you will remember me.”
Dany doubted she would ever forget him, but she was grateful.
“Then, thanks for the hoodie and the story. I will certainly seek to know more about what you told me.” she said, holding out her hand to him. He held it and surprised her when he lightly pressed his lips to its back. Dany felt heat spread through her body, starting at the point where his lips touched her.
The two boarded the bus and, upon returning to her seat, Dany saw that her drunk companion was already asleep in his seat. He was snoring softly again, but seemed to have taken advantage of the break to change his clothes, which significantly improved his smell. In front of her, Jon was talking to the girl sitting next to him and she felt a mixture of envy and jealousy in her chest. How was it possible that she was feeling jealous of someone she had just met?
After settling in, she found herself thinking about what Jon had told her. Maybe he was just trying to give her an idea for the next book, which she thought was really sweet, or maybe he was just trying to scare her. She promised herself that as soon as she reached her destination, she would do some research on the subject.
Dany had a strange, vivid dream when she finally fell asleep. She dreamed that she was running through a dense, dark forest. No, she didn't just run. She was running away in terror from something frightening. She heard agonized, terrified screams coming from all around her, as if the trees could scream, as drops of warm rain fell on her.
Then her nightmare scenario changed and she was back on the bus. The vehicle was stopped in the middle of the road and plunged into darkness. She assumed that the driver had made another stop, but dismissed the idea when she realized that there was no sound inside the bus and her seatmate was no longer next to her. Then her brain noticed that a strange but familiar smell filled the bus and that there was no sound either inside or outside the vehicle. Only the light where the driver was was on and she pulled back the curtains so she could look out the window and realized that they were surrounded by the dark silhouette of the wolfswood, and there was no sign of life outside. She sat back and took a deep breath and only then did she realize that the smell she was smelling was blood.
Quickly, she turned on the light above her. It was faint, but the little it illuminated was enough for her scream of horror to break the silence. In the hallway was the body of the man who had sat next to her. His eyes were wide and filled with fear, as if he had seen the most terrifying thing in the world before his death, part of his face marked with what appeared to be claw marks from some animal.
Frightened, Dany staggered up from her seat and went to the front of the bus, bumping into other bodies. The driver was sitting in his chair, dead and with the same expression as the man inside, his throat was destroyed, as if he had been attacked by an angry animal. The windshield was covered in blood and the mangled body of a passenger was lying on the bus dashboard. She put her hand over her mouth to reduce some of the smell, and tried her best to ignore the sight. She examined the dashboard and found the buttons that activated the light inside the bus. Dany looked at herself and saw that her clothes were stained with blood. In a panic, she ran her hands over her face and they came back stained with blood too. That made her move and she went back to her place in search of her cell phone.
The scene was a thousand times worse than she had imagined. There were bodies, body parts and organs scattered everywhere, some bodies with parts missing, with their intestines hanging out and others seemed just asleep, but their cadaverous paleness took away that illusion. The floor, the walls, the ceiling, everything around her was bathed in blood.
The girl who had sat next to Jon was in pieces. Her head was connected to her body only by the spinal column and her legs and arms were full of deep bite marks. Then she realized that Jon wasn't beside her. She tried to gather the courage to look for his body, but the last thing she wanted at that moment was to see that beautiful male specimen torn to pieces.
No matter how much she tried to take her eyes away from that macabre scene, they didn't obey and she couldn't move her body either. No matter how much part of her brain sent orders for her body to move, she remained there, unable to move away. It was as if that grotesque scene had hypnotized her.
A drop of blood fell on her face and that was what made her move. Dany took her cell phone, got out of the bus, turned on its flashlight to light the way and her gaze was drawn to the blood marks on the ground. After a brief examination of her surroundings, she saw that there were paw prints of some animal moving away from the bus and entering the forest. She heard the terrifying sound of a howl that made her body shake in fear. A noise behind her filled her with terror and, when she turned to face the beast, Dany woke up.
Through the window she could see that the day was dawning, which meant she was reaching her destination and she didn't try to sleep again. Less than an hour later, the bus parked at the small bus terminal in Winter Town.
Jon made sure to get off the bus with her when she disembarked so he could say goodbye to her and she couldn't help but smile.
“I hope to hear from you soon.” he said looking into her eyes and she nodded.
“Maybe we’ll meet when I get to Winterfell.” she commented with a more hopeful tone than she should and he gave her a wide smile.
"I would love to."
----
The city was small, but cozy and beautiful, contrary to what she had imagined. Before traveling, she had made reservations at inns and hotels in all the places she would visit, and when she arrived at the inn, her room was already ready. Before unpacking her bags, she called her mother to let her know she had arrived safely and sent a message to her friends' group saying the same.
It was only hours later when she picked up her computer to start researching the things Jon had told her that she realized there was something that wasn't hers inside her bag. Dany took the white envelope carefully, as if it were a poisonous snake and could bite her at any moment. Her name was written outside in an unfamiliar handwriting. She sat on the bed and opened the envelope eagerly. There were two polaroids and a sheet of paper inside. Curious, she took the polaroids. Her heart quickened and she smiled when she saw that the first one showed Jon Snow. He had taken the photo in front of a mirror that she recognized as being in the bathroom of the restaurant where they had stopped.
She moved to the second photo and stared at it for a few seconds as her brain tried to make sense of what she was seeing. It was a photo of what appeared to be the same bathroom and the same mirror. In the reflection was a humanoid creature with long silvery-white hair, blood-red eyes, long fangs protruding above its lips. The creature had one arm raised in front of it and its hand ended in long, frightening black claws. The creature wore the same black hoddie that she was wearing.
The same hoddie that Jon Snow was wearing and that he had given him as a gift the night before.
Dany forced herself to put down the photo, pick up the sheet of paper and read it.
Dear Daenys, First I need to apologize for having gone through your things without your consent. Second, in case you haven't already deduced from the photo, it's me, Jon Snow, your biggest fan. And I'm a warg. As you've seen in the photos, I'm living proof that wargs are as real as this sheet of paper you're holding right now. The story of the greenseers, skinchangers and wargs is my story and the story of many members of my family and so many other families in the North. Something I didn't tell you about us is that if we spend a lot of time in the minds of animals we acquire some of their characteristics. At first I imagined that this referred to the behavior and habits of the animals, but to my surprise, I acquired physical characteristics. And no, I don't turn into a wolf. I know how much I risked by giving you the photos and information in this letter, but I trust that you will destroy the photos and keep the information confidential. I hope I have inspired you to write about wargs, but if I have frightened you and have not achieved the goal of changing your mind, you will still be left with your original idea. I believe my revelation has left you with two options. First. You can get rid of this letter and the photos, move on with your life and try to forget everything I showed you and told you. Second. If you wish, you can come and meet me when you visit Winterfell and ask all the questions that, I have no doubt, are buzzing in your mind right now. If you choose the first, know that I was very happy to meet you in person and I will always remember our meeting and regret not having had more time with you. If you choose the second, my cell phone number is written down on a piece of paper that I put in the pocket of the hoodie I gave you. Whatever your choice, I hope to read something written by you soon. Maybe someday we will meet again and we can talk again. I bet we'll have some great stories to tell each other. From your biggest and wolfish fan. Jon Snow P.S.: If you're scared of meeting me, I promise I won't devour you. P.P.S.: I think that sounded strange. What I meant was that you don't need to be afraid of me. I promise not to do you any harm. P.P.P.S.: Who am I trying to fool? I don't know if I'll ever see you again, so let me tell you that I wanted to devour you from the second I smelled you and our eyes met. I would love to devour you, but not in a literal way.
Her cheeks flushed and she felt heat spreading through her body as she read the last part. She had an idea of how he wanted to devour her, and when a rather graphic image of her and Jon filled her mind, she forced herself to focus on what to do. With shaking hands, she searched her pockets for the paper and found the paper with his phone number on it.
Dany knew she should choose the first option, she knew that the first option was the safest, that it was the only right choice to make... but most of her was inclined to choose the second option and her mind was already working and formulating theories and questions she would ask Jon and possible plots for a story. She could feel the euphoria, the taste of a new story awakening in her mind, taking over, flooding her consciousness. She could already glimpse every detail, every character. She could see everything!
She looked at the photos and reread that letter several times and each time it seemed easier and easier to believe those words. The second option seemed even more tempting, after all, it wasn't every day that a supernatural being showed up to a writer and said he was her fan and asked her to tell his story.
Who was she trying to fool? Even though she knew the risks and dangers of going to meet him, it was already a lost war.
Danger be damned! I need to know more about all this!, she thought.
Daenerys put down the letter, took out her cell phone, saved Jon's number and sent him a message that simply said: Tell me where and when.
---
The sun was setting when the taxi stopped in the Weirwood Park parking lot. There were few people walking around, some with their children and pets, others alone and others accompanied.
Jon had given her options for a place and time and she had chosen the Weirwood Park because she had heard it had the oldest weirwood trees in all of Westeros and she had chosen that time because there were fewer people who could witness what Jon had said he wanted to show her.
She had arrived at Winterfell after lunch and, despite having prepared herself for this meeting, she was nervous. The three days she had spent in Winter Town were full of discovery and anxiety. She had visited some historical sites, spoken to some people and considered whether she had made the right choice. And in the three nights she spent in that city, she had her recurring dream, but this time, with each dream she managed to see a little of her lover's face, until that morning she saw Jon Snow's face emerging from the shadows. When Dany woke up it was with the feeling that he was the man she had been looking for since she started having that dream.
Apart from exchanging messages to arrange the place and time, they hadn't spoken to each other. She walked following the signposts and easily found the section where the picnic tables were. Jon was sitting on one of them and stood up when he saw her approaching.
Dany walked up to meet him and he was more handsome than she remembered. She stopped when she reached the table and it stood between the two.
"You came." he said with a mix of relief and happiness.
"I did."
He motioned for her to sit down and, when the two sat down facing each other, he said “When I wrote that letter I was sure you would choose the first option. And when I received your message and saw that you had chosen the second, at the same time as I yearned, I feared the arrival of that day.”
“I can leave if you want.”
“No, I don't want you to leave, but I can hear your heart beating fast. Are you afraid of me?” he asked.
No, she wasn't scared of him, she was scared of her feelings. Of her feelings for him. Did he remember what he had written to her? Did he remember that he had written that he wanted to devour her? Was he serious or was it just a joke, a tease?
“Should I be afraid, Jon?” she asked and looked at him with narrowed eyes. “Do you want me to be afraid of you?”
“No, I don’t.” he replied quickly “And you must not be afraid of me. I just want to show you who I really am.”
“Do you really want me to write a book about wargs?” she asked and before he could respond, she added “I mean you don't know what kind of person I am, Jon. I could reveal your secret, I could be gathering proof of everything and just sell the story to some tabloid. Maybe I'm even planning to kidnap you and keep you imprisoned in a private zoo.”
"And you are?"
She smiled and replied “No. I just want to understand why you would risk telling your secret to a stranger.”
He gave her a guilty smile. “What if I told you I used that as an excuse?”
“An excuse for what?” she asked intrigued.
“To get closer to you. When I saw you on that bus, I figured you were doing research and when you confirmed my suspicions I thought I would have a chance to meet you again if you had a reason. I wanted to see you again and have the chance to get to know you better.” he confessed and then added “And, maybe I don't care which story you choose to write, because now I have my own story with you.”
“Oh!” was the only thing she could say.
“Are you afraid of me, now?” he asked again.
She looked him in the eyes before replying “Do I look like I am afraid?”
"No." he replied in a relieved tone “And I don’t want to make you uncomfortable either.”
She gave him a smile and changed the subject. “You promised me information.”
"I did. You can ask me anything you want, and if I know the answer, it will be yours.”
“First, I think it’s time you knew something about me.”
"What?" he asked intrigued.
"Daenerys Targaryen." she replied “That’s my real name.”
“It’s a beautiful name.” he said and gave her a smile that made her heart skip a beat and added "It's a pleasure to meet you, Daenerys Targaryen."
She loved hearing him say her name. Dany returned the smile and said “Thank you. My friends call me Dany and you can call me that if you want.”
He nodded and she took her notebook out of her bag and opened it before saying “I did some research on what you told me, but I would like you to tell me what you know.”
He nodded and obeyed. He told her about skinchangers, who could wear the skins of any beast. He told her that, when the animal died, part of its spirit continued to live in the human being and vice versa and how one skinchanger could always sense another. He told her how it was possible for a skinchanger to enter the mind of an animal that had belonged to another skinchanger and that it was common for part of the previous skinchanger to be felt in the animal. Jon told her about a special type of skinchangers, the greenseers, who in addition to doing what wargs did, could also wear the skins of any beast and could look through the eyes of the weirwoods as well.
Jon then told her about wargs and about when and how he realized his connection to his direwolf, Ghost and what it was like to discover what he was. He told her about his wolf dreams, where he dreamed that he was the direwolf. He talked about how he could feel the forest, its smells and the presence of other animals during these dreams. He told her about how it felt to run free through the forest, about the feeling of hunting and feeding and how free he felt when he had these dreams. He talked about his relationship with Ghost and how he could sense the direwolf's presence and tell if he was near or far from him.
Dany gave him a grateful smile when he finished and asked "If you bite me, will I become a warg too?"
“No, but that’s how the legend of werewolves came to be.” he replied “Wargs are born and not created.”
“So your children will be wargs too?”
“They may or may not be.”
She wrote down that information before asking “Have you ever tried to get into the mind of another animal besides Ghost?”
"No!" he replied, looking horrified at the idea “Ghost is as much a part of me as I am a part of him. I wouldn’t have the courage to betray our connection like that.”
“And have you ever tried to get into someone else’s mind?”
“Although it’s tempting, I haven’t.” replied Jon “And to enter the mind of another human being, that person must have a fragile mind and to try that on someone like that would be something very similar to rape in my opinion.”
“And if the person gave you consent, what would you say?” he stared at her in silence for a few seconds and she added “What would you say if I told you I wanted you to try to get into my mind?”
“Even with your consent, I don’t think I could.”
"Why?"
“You don’t strike me as a person whose mind is easy to dominate.”
She nodded and looked at the notes she had made earlier.
“You told me that having an emotional connection with Ghost made it easier when you first entered his mind.” she said and he nodded “What kind of prior connection do you think you would need to have with me to make it easier?”
He stared at her for a few seconds before replying “I… I don’t know.”
She gave him a half smile. “What if I don’t resist?”
“Are you asking me all these questions because of the book or because you really want me to try and get inside your mind?”
“How about you try to find the answers by going inside my mind?”
“I… That's not a good idea, Dany. Even with your consent and you offering no resistance, you may go mad or suffer some other irreversible mental damage.”
Noting his discomfort with the topic, she asked “Can I meet Ghost someday?”
His face lit up with a smile that made her heart race.
"Of course. You can meet him now.” he replied. Jon stood up, walked over to her on the other side of the table and offered her his hand. She looked at him, confused. “I'm asking you to trust me and come with me.” he clarified.
Dany took a deep breath and nodded. She put away her notebook and held his hand. Jon gave her a satisfied smile and led her through the various paths to a deserted part of the park. Night had arrived and the park lights were on. Above them the full moon appeared over the tree canopy and illuminated them. Holding hands, they looked like just a couple walking and enjoying the good weather. His long brown hair being tossed by the wind and touched by the moonlight gave the impression that some strands were silver. Dany stopped herself from running her hand through it.
“Can you show me what you showed me in the photos?” she asked.
He nodded “But I need you to control yourself and not scream. I don't want people to think I'm attacking you or doing anything worse.”
“I promise I will restrain myself.”
They stopped only when they reached a small clearing in the forest that was lit only by the moon. He let go of her hand and took a step away from her. Before her eyes, his hair began to change color, his nails turned into claws and his fangs became larger. When he opened his eyes and looked at her, they were red.
“Wow.” she said and, without thinking, she closed the distance between them and couldn't resist running her hand through his hair. “You're really real.” she whispered.
He gave her a small smile and said “I am and thank you for not yelling.”
She looked him in the eyes. “I have no reason to scream.” she said and asked “Does it hurt?”
He shook his head “At first, but it doesn’t hurt anymore.” he replied, and a few seconds later, he was back to his normal appearance. Jon pointed to a spot in the wolfswood before saying “Ghost is going to come out of the woods. You do not have to be afraid."
"He is here?"
“He was watching us the whole time.” he replied.
She was surprised to hear that, but she nodded and Jon whistled loudly. In the next second, a mountain of white fur rushed out of the darkness of the forest. Dany gasped, but forced herself to remain still. The last thing she wanted was to draw the direwolf's attention to herself.
“Slow down, boy!” Jon said in an affectionate tone and the animal slowed down and began to walk. Jon held her hand again and gave it a comforting squeeze. He looked at her and said “Sorry, he’s looking forward to meeting you.” Dany looked at him with wide eyes and he asked “Remember what I said about sharing emotions?” she swallowed and nodded “He likes the same people as me. Which means he’s very happy you chose to come here.”
When he finished speaking, the direwolf stood before them, and when she looked at him, his intelligent red eyes were fixed on her. The moonlight made his white fur shine and gave it a fantastic air, as if the animal were a forest spirit.
“Dany, this is Ghost.” he said and stroked his ear before adding “Ghost, this is Dany.”
Still unable to move, she heard herself say, “Hi boy.”
“You can touch him if you want.” Jon suggested and she looked at him with wide eyes. He laughed and added “He won’t hurt you.”
She looked at Ghost and took a deep breath to gather her courage. Hesitantly, she reached up to the direwolf's immense head and touched its fur. Slowly, she began to pet him and she couldn't help but laugh when he pressed his head against her hand.
“I told you he liked you.” commented Jon, who was watching them with pride and satisfaction in his gray eyes.
“I like you too, Ghost.” she said and, to her surprise, he licked her hand, which made her laugh again. She looked at Jon and asked "Can I see you warg him?"
He gave her a smile and nodded, “Come.”
She followed him to the edge of the clearing and watched as he sat cross-legged against the trunk of a tree and took a deep breath. His eyes were white and his body was still. Ghost walked up to her and there was something different in his red eyes, something definitely human.
“Jon?” she asked in an uncertain tone.
In response, the direwolf lowered his head and brought his snout to her hand, as if he was asking her to pet him and she did. Then he bent down and, confused, she looked at Jon and back at the direwolf.
“Do you want me to ride you?” she asked and Ghost, no, Jon nodded.
Ghost was big enough for Jon himself to ride, and he wouldn't ask her to do that if it wasn't safe for her and Ghost. As soon as she was properly sitting on his back, Ghost-Jon got up, started walking, and for the first few seconds she had her eyes closed, her face pressed against his soft fur, her arms wrapping around his neck. He walked around the clearing before entering the forest and Dany forced herself to relax and enjoy the experience.
The ride was brief, and about five minutes later, Ghost-Jon took her back to the clearing. Jon was waiting for them standing when they entered the clearing and she deduced that Ghost was in charge.
“So, what did you think of the experience?” he asked as soon as she dismounted the direwolf.
“Absolutely terrifying and absolutely incredible.” she replied with a sincere smile and petted Ghost.
They stayed with him for a few more minutes and Jon took her back to the park entrance.
“What places do you want to visit in Winterfell?” he asked and she told him the ones she remembered.
“I had a crazy idea.” he said.
"What is it?"
He hesitated for a few seconds before saying “I want to accompany you on your trip. If that’s okay with you.”
“Do you want to be my research assistant?”
“I want to be your guide, after all, who better than a northerner to guide you through the North?”
That idea seemed perfect to her.
“I like the idea and I’ll love having you as my guide.” she replied and Jon held her hand and placed a kiss on her gloved palm.
---
The next day Jon took her on a tour of the historic fortress of Winterfell. She was impressed not only by what she saw, but also by everything she heard.
He also introduced her to a lady who was known as Old Nan, who was happy when she heard that Dany was preparing to write a book based on the stories and legends of the North. The lady told her everything she knew about the Long Night, the Others, about the Night King and Dany wished she could hear all the stories that nice little lady had to tell. Old Nan had a gift for telling stories, and as she listened, Dany felt like she was in the story.
Throughout her days at Winterfell Jon convinced her to continue her journey by car instead of bus as she had planned and, when he stopped about forty kilometers after they left the city behind to show her a very preserved part of the place where the battle had taken place during the second Long Night, Dany realized that this had actually been a great idea.
Jon not only knew much of the history of the North, he also knew the meaning of the symbols used by the children of the forest and the wildlings. During the trip and the many stops they made, she wrote down every bit of information, noted details of the landscape, noted how people dressed, spoke and greeted each other. She wrote down some details of the vegetation and ideas she would like to explore in the future.
During the trip they also talked about their lives. Jon told her that he and his mother were very close and shared many things like a love of horses and Northern history, but he didn't know his biological father. His mother had told him that she had met his father during a music festival and that he was the result of a one-night stand. They didn't exchange names or contact details, and weeks later, Lyanna discovered she was pregnant but had no way of contacting him. Jon grew up in the company of his cousins and his uncle Ned ended up becoming his father figure.
She told him about her family and her life and he asked her several questions about her process, about her books and she spent hours talking about her characters.
Dany noted that the last time she had had her recurring dream was the morning she had seen Jon's face and she couldn't help but wonder if that was a sign. She had been attracted to him from the moment she saw him and there were times when the tension between them made even the task of breathing almost impossible, however, at no point during their trip did they comment on what he had written in the letter about wanting to devour her.
She had no doubt that Jon was as attracted to her as she was to him. The way he looked at her, touched her and spoke to her made it clear that he was interested in her. And there had even been a few moments when they had almost kissed, but since she didn't want to do anything that could harm the dynamic between them, Dany had walked away and pretended that she didn't understand his intention. She knew that the way she acted confused him, because she also touched him and looked at him with interest and always kissed his cheek in gratitude when he showed her something new.
As Jon had told her that they were in the off season and as she had made reservations before leaving Dragonstone, she was not concerned with the idea that they might arrive at a location where there would not be a room available for Jon. But that changed when they arrived at Mole's Town, which had maintained one of its main features for centuries, which was its underground buildings connected by tunnels.
As soon as they entered the inn where Dany had made her reservations and Jon asked for a room, the receptionist informed them that there were none available either in that inn or in any other in the city. According to her, a group of Night’s Watch fans were gathered in the city for two weeks to reenact some historical battles that took place on the Wall.
Without thinking, Dany invited him to stay with her in her room. He was hesitant to accept, but since the alternative was sleeping in the car, he ended up accepting. After leaving their things in their room and changing into more weather-appropriate clothes, they headed to the Wall. Dany was eager to climb the great wall of ice that they had seen many miles before reaching the city.
The Wall had been a tourist attraction for centuries, its nineteen castles had been transformed into museums and there were people who swore they had met one of the Others or with one of their creatures.
Jon told her more details about the Night’s Watch, the Wall and the Others as they walked through the museum. She felt a sense of wonder as they passed through the tunnel that led to the other side of the Wall and visited the godswood where the Night's Watch recruits took their vows.
The sun was low on the horizon when they entered the elevator that would take them to the top of the Wall. Seen from above, the landscape was breathtaking. They sheltered from the freezing wind behind one of the watchtowers and Dany was gazing out at the forest beyond the Wall, her imagination playing out an attack by the Others and their creatures when she heard Jon ask, “Have you ever really wanted to kiss someone, but you didn’t know you should?”
She looked at him and answered without thinking “Why don’t you try your luck?”
It was only when Jon's gloved hands cupped her face seconds later and her eyes met his that she understood he was talking about her. Her heart raced and she felt her body react to his proximity and before she could do or say anything else, he kissed her.
His lips were soft, but they were cold as they tentatively touched hers for a few seconds. The way he held her face, the feel of his lips against hers was painfully familiar and, all too soon, he pulled away. She sighed, and when she opened her eyes, she saw that he was watching her carefully, as if he were gauging her reaction. Dany gave him a sweet smile and then he kissed her again gently, as if he were afraid of hurting her or that she would be scared.
Her arms wrapped around his neck and she kissed him urgently, voraciously, as if they didn't have enough time, as if she would disappear if she didn't kiss him. Jon responded to her urgency and her gloved hands delved into his hair and she wished she could feel it between her fingers. He pulled her closer to him, but it was difficult to feel the heat of his body and even his body with so many clothes on. There were too many layers between them and she couldn't wait to get rid of each one of them.
Jon was the first to break the kiss and he rested his forehead on hers before placing soft kisses on her nose and cheeks.
Without thinking, she heard herself saying “It is you, it has always been.”
He looked at her with confusion and she told him about her dream.
“Are you telling me I’m literally the man of your dreams?” he asked with a smug smile.
Dany smiled and nodded “You are. Now, kiss me again.”
He didn't hesitate to obey and when he pressed her against the wall of the watchtower and kissed her more intensely, Dany felt her entire body ignite. It was only when their lips parted once again that Dany realized that it had already become completely dark and the lights at the top of the Wall had been turned on.
“We should go back.” he said “Not long until it closes to the public.”
She nodded and Jon gave her a quick kiss before holding her hand and guiding her back to the elevator. The thirty or so minutes that passed until they reached their room at the inn felt like an eternity to her, and as soon as Jon closed the door to their room, Dany pressed him against it and kissed him as her hands began the arduous but pleasurable work of freeing him from his layers.
It was Jon who had a connection to a beast, but at that moment it was Dany who felt like there was a beast inside her. And that beast wanted to devour Jon, wanted to make him surrender to her . W anted to make him hers .
It was only when she managed to bare his chest that Jon stopped her and said “Dany, I don't have any condoms with me. Do you?"
She shook her head and said “I don’t, but I'm on birth control if you want to keep going.”
“Are you sure, Dany? I might not be able to stop once we start.”
"I'm sure." she assured.
He nodded and gave her a mischievous smile before confessing in a smug tone, “One of the best parts of being who I am is knowing that you want me as much as I want you.”
Well, she couldn't smell his arousal, but there were other ways of knowing. Dany undid the button and zipper of his pants and, slowly and provocatively, slid her hand inside until she found his hardened member and held it carefully through his underwear . Jon threw his head back and moaned her name when she gave it a light squeeze. She wanted to feel him without the barrier of his underwear, but before she could move her hand, Jon kissed her and she began to caress it , making him moan against her lips.
“I love hearing you moan like that.” she whispered against his lips.
She broke the kiss and removed her hand from inside his pants, but only to place soft kisses on his throat. She lightly nibbled the skin at the base of his throat and laughed softly when he moaned. She plunged her hands into his hair and pulled him against her to kiss him, planning to continue her exploration, but Jon reversed their position, pressing her against the wall. He gave her a passionate kiss that made her lose her breath and moan when he caught her lower lip with his teeth and bit it lightly. Jon licked her lip and she moaned once again.
As he kissed her, his hands rested on her waist and slid under her clothes to her back and up, caressing her spine, his heat sending goosebumps across her skin. Jon looked into her eyes as his hands removed the top part of her clothes and she just stared back at him as she tried to catch her breath.
“Now we’re even.” he commented when she was naked from the waist up. He knelt before her and his lips rested on her breasts, his soft, warm lips wrapped around her nipple and he sucked it, making Dany arch her body as a moan of pleasure left her lips.
She pressed her body against his, her hands resting in his hair as he gave the same attention to her other nipple. As his lips and teeth explored her breasts, his hands began to remove what was left of her clothing until she was naked before him.
Jon sat on his knees and looked her over from head to toe with his hungry gray eyes before saying, "You're even more beautiful than I imagined."
She gave him a smile before suggesting “How about we tie the game again?”
Jon smiled, but stood up and, with her help, finished shedding his layers as well. Dany licked her lips as she looked him over from head to toe and when her eyes met his, Jon asked “Do you like what you see?”
She licked her lips once more and nodded slowly. In the next second, Jon was kissing her, his hands tangling in her hair. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers delving into his hair, their bodies as close as possible, the heat of his skin making her body ignite. Without breaking the kiss he guided her to the bed and they both laughed when they bumped into the furniture.
His hands left her hair, rested on her ass and he lifted her off the floor and then carefully placed her on the bed. She pulled him along with her and Jon didn't resist. He kissed her nose, her cheek and kissed down the column of her throat until he reached her breasts where he stayed until her nipples were hard and she was panting with desire once again. He continued down her belly and only stopped when he reached the silver-blonde hair of her cunt. After positioning himself between her legs, he gently moved her knees apart so he could see her. He looked at her cunt with hungry eyes when he saw her soaking wet. Without warning, Jon bent down and licked her, sending a wave of pleasure through her body and making her let out a loud moan.
“Mine.” he growled against her wet folds.
“Say it again.” she ordered, her hands gripping his hair tighter.
He looked at her and his eyes were red and the sight made her walls contract.
Before obeying her, Jon licked her, making her moan louder “Mine.” he said and kissed her clit. “Mine.” he inserted a finger into her and licked her again “All mine.”
Dany moaned his name without realizing it and Jon increased the speed of his fingers and focused the attention of his lips on her clit and then Dany saw stars as her orgasm hit. He continued to lick her and his fingers continued sliding in and out of her for a few more seconds.
Jon lay down next to her and asked “How are you feeling?”
“Amazing.” she replied, panting and he gave a satisfied and proud smile.
Her hand rested on her dick and she stroked it, making him moan.
“Are you sure you want to continue without protection?” he asked in a serious tone and Dany couldn't help but feel happy and relieved that he was so careful and asked for her consent once again, just to make sure she hadn't changed her mind.
“I want to keep going, if you want too.” she replied.
In response, Jon kissed her with renewed enthusiasm and positioned himself between her legs. She moaned against his mouth as he ran the tip of his member through her wetness before positioning it at her entrance. He looked into her eyes as he slid into her slowly, giving her time to adjust to his size. Dany moved her hips when she was ready and their bodies easily found a rhythm, as if they already knew each other. As their bodies moved in harmony, Dany realized that this was the scene from her recurring dream that had finally come true.
“You look so beautiful with me inside you.” he commented as he slowly slid in and out of her.
Intoxicated with the sensations caused by Jon, the only thing she could answer was his name in a breathless tone. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders as he kissed her lips and one of his hands found her clit. Her pleasure grew and grew and it wasn't long before she was seeing stars once again.
Jon kissed her neck and whispered against her sweaty skin “That’s my girl.”
Maybe obeying some primal instinct, Dany bit his shoulder, marking him as hers, and whispered, “Mine.”
Jon moaned loudly as he reached his orgasm and she felt him spilling inside her. A few seconds passed before he pulled out of her and Dany moaned when she felt his fingers over her entrance trying to keep his seed inside her. He looked into her eyes and there was a mixture of possession and pride in them as he whispered, “Mine.” once again.
After catching their breath, they took a long hot shower together and then snuggled into each other's arms in bed.
Dany was almost asleep when she heard Jon whisper “I didn’t think it was possible to love someone this much. Home stopped being a place when you entered my life and I'm so scared of losing you.”
She surprised him when she turned in his arms to look him in the eyes.
"You wont lose me. You are everything I dreamed of finding and more.” she said, brushing aside a strand of his hair and placing her hand on his cheek. “I am right where I belong and nothing could ever stop me from being with you.”
---
“Jon?!” Dany called.
"Yes?!" he replied from somewhere in the house.
Almost a year had passed since the day they met and now they were living together in Winterfell. She was finishing the first book in her trilogy inspired by him and there was one detail she needed her boyfriend to confirm.
“Can you help me with something, love?” she asked when her boyfriend joined her in her office seconds later.
“Of course, sweetheart.” he replied with a smile.
“Can you read what I wrote and tell me if it’s good?”
He gave her a sweet smile. “You know I love reading everything you write, Dany.”
She indicated the computer and Jon sat down to read.
Dany made a point of staying close. She really wanted to see his reaction to the book dedication. It wasn't long before he read aloud, "I dedicate this story to my husband, Jon Snow, whose wild side inspired me and guided me through the long history of the wargs."
He turned to look at her with an expression between curiosity and surprise and asked “Was this the way you found to ask me to marry you, Daenerys Targaryen?”
She gave him an innocent smile. “That was my way of telling you that I want you in my life permanently, Jon Snow.”
Jon stood up and wrapped his arms around her waist before saying, “Permanent?” he asked and she nodded “I like the sound of that.”
"Is that a yes?"
"Yes."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him towards her. Her lips met his in a gentle kiss, but touching Jon always set her body on fire and it wasn't long before they were both devouring each other.
“My Dany, I love you so much!” he whispered against her lips “I could never love another as I love you, even if I wanted to.”
She smiled and kissed him with redoubled enthusiasm, planning to show him in other ways how much she loved him.

Chapter 4 - Have we met before?
Daenerys Targaryen was awakened from her daytime rest by the same primal instinct that had kept her alive for centuries, and the first thing her keen senses registered was the smell of human blood mixed with burning flesh and ash.
That smell meant only one thing to those who were like her. Death.
That smell meant her coven had been invaded. Some group of hunters had waited for the sun to be high in the sky to attack, corner and kill them. Not even the thick stone walls of Harrenhal had prevented them from entering. But what was most alarming to her at that moment was not that her coven was under attack, but rather that Aemon, her husband, was not in the place where he had fallen asleep beside her at dawn. He had probably heard something suspicious, gone out to investigate, and, true to who he was, was at that moment fighting like a wild beast to protect their coven and kill as many hunters as possible.
She left the room she and her husband shared and could hear better the sounds of fighting, of doors being kicked in and furniture being destroyed, the screams and moans of pain of the wounded reverberating through the hallways. Terrified, Daenerys went in search of him, and as she walked down the corridors that led to the surface of their refuge, the stronger the smell of humans became. The smell of death became stronger.
Before finding the dismembered corpse of the first hunter, she found several piles of ash and drops of blood scattered across the floor of the rooms she passed. Based on the amount of ash she found on her way, the hunters had not only taken the vampires by surprise, but they were well trained and in sufficient numbers to commit that massacre. From the amount of ash, she knew that few of hers were still alive.
One of the hunters saw her when she came out of a room and charged at her brandishing a long, bone-white wooden stake. Driven by fury, she easily disarmed him, ripped out his arm and heart, and threw his lifeless body away. As she advanced, Daenerys killed those who had dared to invade and defile her home.
Following Aemon's scent, she reached the surface of the refuge and the scene before her petrified her. There was a sea of ash and torn human bodies and Daenerys found her husband in time to see a hunter driving a stake through his chest, piercing his heart. His red eyes met hers as Aemon fell to his knees and then his body gave way and he fell to the ground. That image woke her up and, in a reflex, she went to the hunter and ripped his head off, causing his blood to gush over her and the injured vampire on the floor .
A trickle of blood ran from between his lips and the destroyed shirt revealed the severity of the injury. Dany knelt beside him, ignoring the headless corpse of the hunter who had wounded him, her hands shaking slightly from the adrenaline and the fear, the absolute dread of losing him. His gray eyes met hers and she could see that he was calm, unafraid, as if he had been waiting for this moment his entire existence.
Swallowing her despair, she held his cold hands and could feel the rapid beating of his heart trying to heal the wound. But as old and strong as Aemon was, this was a mortal wound.
He knew that.
She knew that.
There was nothing he or she could do to save him.
“Please don’t leave me.” she begged, even though she knew there was no hope. “I love you.”
He gave her a smile. “My Dany.” he said in a faint whisper “I will always love you.”
She squeezed his hands, wishing she had the power to save him. “I can’t do this without you, my love.” she said with teary eyes and a choked voice. “I can’t face eternity without you.”
“No matter where I am, I will always look for a way to come back to you.” he promised and squeezed her hands back in a weak grip. A farewell.
Dany pressed her lips gently against his and memorized the feeling of his lips against hers, as she knew this would be the last time. He smiled and whispered her name against her lips for the last time. She felt the moment his heart stopped and watched her beloved's body shudder before an intense light turned him to ash.
He was never coming back.
She would never see him again.
Daenerys looked at the ashes in her hands and felt her heart breaking into thousands of pieces. She let the tears fall, let her pain spill out, and screamed until there was only a painful emptiness left in her chest.
Ignoring the danger that both the remaining hunters and the sun posed, she stayed there, lying on his ashes, cataloging in her mind every detail about him and only emerged from her grief when she felt something rough scrape against her skin. Part of her wished it was some hunter who had returned to finish the job and she could join Aemon. But another part identified it as the licking of some animal and she opened her eyes. Before her was a n albino direwolf staring at her with his unnervingly beautiful red eyes. His muzzle and part of his fur were stained with blood.
This was a sight that was not only frightening but rare. D irewolves were northern animals and were rarely seen in that region. Seeing him made her feel both devastated and comforted. When she first met Aemon and they were both still human, he was accompanied by an albino direwolf he called Ghost.
“What are you doing so far from home?” she asked in a voice hoarse from screaming and crying.
They looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds and something moved in her peripheral vision. There were more direwolves of different colors, sizes and ages feasting on the flesh of her family's killers. The albino direwolf continued to watch her while his companions ripped the meat from the bones of the corpses and it was only after all the members of his pack had eaten, that the albino direwolf moved and followed them out of the refuge.
When night came, Daenerys got up and wandered the castle in search of any survivors from her coven, but there was only her. Accompanied by the emptiness in her chest and the image of her Aemon turning to ash, she walked to the shore of the Gods Eye lake and dove in. When she emerged from its icy waters, Daenerys knew what she would do next: she would take revenge. She would hunt and kill all the hunters who attacked her family until there were none left.
It wasn't a difficult task to track them down since their scent was engraved in her mind. So, she spent the next few weeks hunting down the people who killed her family and making sure to eliminate every vampire hunter she came across wherever she went. She had lost her coven, but she wouldn't let other vampires go through what she had. It wasn't long before she became a kind of myth among the smallfolk and villagers and was known as the 'silver death'.
Devastated by grief, she didn't want to join another coven again and didn't have the courage to create another vampire. With her revenge over and suffocated by memories of her past with her husband, she decided to leave Westeros behind and moved to Essos with the promise of never returning.
For years Dany wandered that continent alone. She spent her time learning about the customs, culture, politics, language, and history of each people who inhabited Essos. She tried to fill that hole in her chest with blood and taking a few lovers both vampire and human. Unconsciously, she always ended up taking into her bed men who had something that reminded her of Aemon, the same long face, the same brown hair, the same gray eyes, the same timbre of voice, the same shape of lips. She looked for Aemon in every face she saw and, instead of being able to heal herself, she only increased her suffering.
The only thing that came close to filling that void was her new family.
First she found Missandei. She was just a nine-year-old little girl and was being auctioned off in a sex slave market. That night, Dany spared only the slaves and tore each of the slave-traders and slave owners to pieces. Missandei was the only one who wasn't afraid of what she was and, even though she was covered in blood and guts while breaking the chains that kept the humans prisoner, the little girl smiled and asked to stay with her. The little girl hugged her when she agreed to stay with her, and for the first time in decades, Daenerys Targaryen smiled.
Having a human life in her charge was more of a blessing than a burden. Caring for Missandei gave her a new focus, it reminded her what it was like to have a family. With Missandei by her side, Dany felt that her heart, shattered by Aemon's death, began to mend itself and the love she felt for the little human not only filled part of the void but also kept her warm, kept her own humanity alive.
On her twentieth birthday Missandei asked her to be transformed. Her dear daughter had a speech ready and a list of arguments to convince her. A few months later, Dany gave in and transformed her. The two wandered for a few years and the smell of blood and death drew them to the outskirts of a city that had recently been attacked. Among the corpses they found a boy at death's door. They took him with them to their home and cared for him until he fully recovered.
The boy told them the name his owners had given him, told them his story. Gray Worm had been captured and sold when he was still a baby and trained as an Unsullied soldier. He had no memory of his homeland or his life before being an Unsullied. A total of two thousand Unsullied including him had been sold to that city and they faced a Dothraki horde that threatened the city and wanted gifts in exchange for being left alone. He was ready to die, knowing that in death he would finally be free and he begged them not to sell him, not to force him to return to that life. They promised him he was free to do whatever he wanted and told him how they found him.
Inevitably, they told him what they were and, despite his surprise and fright, he chose to join them. The night Dany turned him, he chose a new name and was reborn as Basil Gray. The three became a family and it didn't take long for Missandei and Gray to fall in love.
Together they traveled through Essos and Sothoryos, visited Naath and the Summer Islands, and lived in various locations. Together with her children, Daenerys witnessed history being written over the years and even influenced and interfered in some events that caused significant and lasting changes, such as the end of slavery in Slaver's Bay.
Despite still feeling the emptiness caused by the loss of Aemon, she lived in relative peace with her children and centuries passed before she was forced to break her promise to never return to Westeros.
Things changed the night the red comet appeared in the sky. She was hunting alone near one of several nomad camps in the Dothraki Sea when she saw the red comet crossing the night sky for the first time. Its light was so strong that it was possible to see it crossing the sky even during the day.
Daenerys couldn't help but think about how it was during the appearance of that same comet a few centuries ago that she and Aemon had first met. Seeing the comet again caused her an inexplicable and uncontrollable desire to return to Westeros. It was as if there was a thread tied to her heart and the other end was on the other side of the sea and someone was constantly tugging at it, trying to get her attention, trying to convince her to leave everything behind and return to her true home.
She tried to ignore it for weeks, but with each passing night the more intense the comet's light became, the more that tug intensified, the more she was consumed by the overwhelming need to return. Knowing she wouldn't find peace until she went to Westeros, Dany told her children about her decision and her family, of course, refused to stay behind.
Returning to Westeros was strange, but she felt relief at seeing that place again and the feeling of someone pulling the string lessened. After she and her children settled into their new home, Dany allowed herself to explore the streets she had walked alongside Aemon guided by the sensation of the thread, which seemed to pull her somewhere close to the historic center of King's Landing.
A lot had changed since she last saw and walked through King's Landing, but there were still historic buildings like the Red Keep and the dragon pit, some forges and inns and, of course, the pavement, remained the same. As she journeyed through the painful and precious memories of her past, a smell that Dany had thought she would never smell again filled her nostrils. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, her broken heart filling with hope as she remembered that that smell belonged to her beloved Aemon.
Without thinking, she began to follow the scent, walking hurriedly through the streets as the scent became stronger, more concentrated and the thread seemed to pull her in the same direction. It was only when she started walking down a busier street that she remembered that it was impossible for that to be Aemon's scent. Each person had a unique scent, and since he had been dead for centuries, any trace of his scent had long since disappeared.
Her memory must be playing tricks on her.
It was impossible that that was his scent.
But even so, she continued walking, following the scent, following the thread. She was close, so close she could almost taste it on her tongue.
The smell took her to a restaurant and she entered without hesitation. Her body froze when she heard the sound of his voice and her eyes scanned the place and the people around her for something that she knew was impossible, but that didn't make it any less expected.
She felt the thread give a tug when her eyes fell on a face that was engraved in her memory: long and solemn face, dark brown hair and gray eyes.
She was looking at Aemon's face.
"Impossible." she whispered.
Dany had held him as he died, she had seen him turn to ash, but still he was there before her.
Smiling.
Talking.
Breathing.
Alive.
It was impossible.
Aemon, her Aemon, was dead.
But even though it was impossible, there he was. The same voice. The same smell. The same face. The same eyes that had looked at her full of love and desire. The same hair she used to spend hours playing with, stroking, washing off the blood after a hunt , brushing out of his face while they made love. The same body that she had known as thoroughly as her own, the same body that had been her refuge, her shelter, her home .
Dany felt her body shudder as those familiar gray eyes met hers. He held her gaze for just a few seconds and her heart ached when she realized he hadn't recognized her.
But of course he wouldn't recognize her. Despite their impossible similarity, that stranger was just that, a stranger.
She forced herself to stop looking at him when a girl with the same brown hair as him and sitting next to him at the table caught his attention to show him something on her cell phone. She forced herself to move, she forced herself to leave that place, she forced herself to move away, she forced herself to ignore his scent that insisted on following her as if he himself were following her, she forced herself to ignore the insistent tug of the thread, she forced herself not to look back, because if she looked back, she would be lost. She forced herself to go back to her home, to her children and forced herself to act normally. There was no reason to worry them about that matter.
Daenerys tried to force herself to forget what she had seen, what had happened. She recalled over and over again the moment Aemon had turned to ash right before her eyes. But even so, she couldn't stop thinking about the stranger. She couldn't stop thinking about all those similarities and coincidences. She couldn't ignore the thread that, she now knew, was pulling her toward him. She couldn't ignore the hope that had blossomed in her heart.
She tried not to go back to that part of town, but she failed.
Just three nights later she found herself walking down the same street again, all her senses attentive to the smell and the sound of his voice. Night after night she returned to that part of town until she saw the girl he was with through the restaurant window and realized that she probably worked there.
Unable to contain herself, she went in and sat at one of the tables closest to the windows. She looked at the menu that was on the table and a few minutes later, the girl came to serve her and Dany couldn't help but notice the similarity between her and the stranger. Or, as she had begun to call him in her mind, not-Aemon.
Knowing she couldn't eat any of that human food and that they certainly didn't serve human blood, Dany ordered coffee and toast. That would be enough for her to go unnoticed and have the chance to observe the girl and the place for a while. And maybe, if she was lucky, not-Aemon would appear there too.
But what were the chances that he would appear there? She didn't know, but she couldn't bring herself to get up and leave without first allowing herself to wait for him for a while.
While waiting for her order, her eyes scanned the place and she saw the girl talking on her cell phone and staring at her. The moment their eyes met, the girl smiled and continued her conversation.
Curious, Dany looked away and focused her hearing on her and heard her say “…just hold her here, Jon!”
The girl heard the answer and gave a resigned sigh and replied “I know.” and she listened to him once more before saying in an impatient tone “Just come here as fast as you can. I have to get back to work.”
Dany took her cell phone out of her pocket and pretended she was reading something. Could it be that the person the girl was talking to, that Jon guy, was the person she so desperately wanted to see? From the way the girl had looked at her as she spoke, Dany was almost sure he was.
“Here is your order.” said the girl, placing the coffee and toast on the table and Dany pretended that she had been distracted and had been taken by surprise by her arrival.
“Oh, thank you!” she said with a grateful smile.
“Can I help you with anything else?”
“Yes, I would like some water, please...” she replied and read the name on the name tag on her uniform before adding “Mia.”
“Actually, my name is Arya.” she corrected in a conspiratorial tone and Dany frowned. “I'm covering for my friend Mia for a few days.”
Dany smiled “She’s lucky to have a friend like you.” she said and, before she could stop herself, added “My name is Daenys Targaryen.”
Arya's eyes widened and she gave her a huge smile. “Like Daenys, the Dreamer?”
“Yes. My name was chosen as a tribute to her.”
Arya nodded and asked “Are you from here or just visiting?”
“A bit of both.” she replied “I was born in Dragonstone, grew up in the free cities and only came to Westeros when I was sixteen. I was living in Meereen and moved here recently.”
“Welcome back.” she said with a friendly smile “I’ll go get the rest of your order and be right back.”
Arya didn't have the opportunity to continue questioning her when she returned with her water, as she had to attend to the other tables, so Dany sipped her coffee while pretending to be interested in something on her phone and occasionally taking small bites of toast. Her stomach wasn't too happy with what she was swallowing, but this wasn't the first time she had to pretend to be human and she knew that once she threw it all up, she would be fine.
His scent hit her like a wrecking ball at the same time the string tugged at her heart. Her attention turned to the restaurant door and she saw him walking in and waving to Arya. Then the girl gestured toward her with her head and he looked over and started scanning the tables. She was right. Jon was the stranger.
Their eyes met and this time, there was something different in his gaze. Not exactly recognition, but a mix of relief, anxiety and hope. Dany looked back at the cell phone, her heart racing like that of a scared human, and followed his approach with her peripheral vision and hearing, feeling that the string seemed to pull him towards her.
“Excuse me, Miss.” he said in a nervous tone and her heart almost opened a hole in her chest when she heard Aemon's voice after so many centuries. She forced herself to act like a human would normally react when approached by another human.
“Yes?” she asked, her expression neutral.
He gave her a nervous smile before continuing, “I'm sorry for bothering you, but I have to ask, have you and I met before?”
You are the exact copy of the love of my life, but I know you are not him. No matter how much I wish with all my strength that you were him, I know it's impossible., she wanted to respond, but stopped herself.
For a few seconds she studied his familiar face. The only thing different about Aemon's face was the absence of the scar over his eye.
“No, but you look extremely familiar.” she heard herself respond.
He nodded slowly, “You also look extremely familiar. I saw you here a few nights ago and I knew I knew you, but I couldn't remember when or where.” he explained “I wanted to talk to you that night and I even went after you and tried to catch up with you, but you disappeared as quickly as you appeared. So I asked my sister to let me know if she saw you around here again.” he looked over to where Arya was taking an order.
So the two were siblings. This explained the similarity between them.
He looked back at her and continued, “I know this sounds weird and scary, but I swear I'm not stalking you or trying to do you any harm.”
Even against her better judgment, even knowing that she should get up and leave and never return to that place again, even knowing that she could end up even more hurt from that situation, Dany pointed to the chair in front of her and he sat down with a relieved expression.
“I confess that I am intrigued. Hmmm… you didn’t tell your name.”
“It’s Jon. Jon Snow.”
“Daenys Targaryen.”
He looked at her as if something was wrong. “Daenys?” he repeated. “It feels both wrong and familiar.”
“Really?” she asked curious about his comment and he nodded “Do you know someone called Aemon?” she ventured.
“Aemon.” he repeated and she nodded “It also feels familiar and wrong at the same time. Like a piece of clothing that once belonged to me, but no longer fits.” he explained “Do you know any Aemon that looks like me?”
"I did." she replied and, before she could stop herself, added “He was taken from me a long time ago.”
“Was he a member of your family?”
“He was my…” she began and felt a lump forming in her throat “He was my best friend, my confidant, my companion. He was my everything.”
“I'm so sorry.” he said and then he handed her the bottle of water on the table and she accepted it.
“Do you think we met in another life?” he asked after a few seconds of silence.
“Do you believe in other lives?” she asked, trying to escape giving him an answer that she didn't even know what it was.
“I didn’t believe in other lives, but that changed the night I saw you.” he replied.
She motioned for Arya to bring her her bill and saw Jon tense up. She looked him in the eyes before asking “It’s a pleasant autumn evening, Jon Snow. What do you think we continue this conversation while walking along the shore?”
Relief filled his familiar gray eyes and his smile sent shivers through her body.
“I would love to.”
About half an hour later they were walking side by side along the shore, the red comet shining above them and the thread seemed to have accomplished its mission and stopped pulling on her. She had asked him questions about his family and his life and answered the ones he had asked her. Now they walked in comfortable silence and had reached a more deserted part of the shore.
“You didn’t answer my question.” he said, breaking the silence.
“Which one?”
“Do you think we met in another life?”
“Do you think I believe in other lives?”
"Do you?"
“I didn’t, but that changed the night I saw you.” she replied using his words.
The two were silent once more and she could see he was working up the courage to tell her something, so she waited.
A few minutes later she heard him ask “Do you think it’s possible to fall in love with someone you’ve never met? Loving someone you don't even know really exists? Someone who was always in your memories even though you never met them?” he took a deep breath before continuing “Ever since that comet appeared months ago I felt something, as if there was a thread tied to my heart and it was being insistently pulled, as if it was trying to take me somewhere, to someone.”
She looked at him, surprised by his words, to hear that he had felt the same as her, and he was looking at the comet above them. Jon stopped and she did the same and looked at him as he continued “The feeling became more urgent as the days passed and it only lessened as I walked through the city, my steps being guided by the thread and it always brought me to the seaside. Until, weeks ago, the sense of urgency subsided. And then a few nights ago, I felt a tug and there you were.”
Jon looked at her and his gray eyes studied her face for a few seconds before continuing “I know this all sounds crazy, but…” he took a deep breath once again “I remember you. And I spent my whole life thinking you were just a beautiful dream, an illusion, a figment of my imagination, as unreachable as a distant star, but you are real. You are here within my reach.” he gave her a smile. “I spent my whole life looking for you and I need to tell you how relieved I am to have found you.”
That took her by surprise and he continued, “I remember you more vividly than I can remember my own life. I have had memories of you for as long as I can remember and I have looked for you everywhere, I have looked for you in every woman who has crossed my path. I remember your eyes. I remember spending hours watching your hair being illuminated by the moonlight. I remember braiding your hair. I remember things that don't even make sense, like..." he hesitated and took a deep breath “I remember the feeling of my lips on your skin. I remember kissing you. How can this be possible?” he looked into her eyes for a few seconds before adding “I’ve been in love with you my whole life.”
His words, his declaration of love caught her by surprise and she looked away. The two fell silent once again and her mind filled with memories of her life with Aemon. The first time she had seen him. Their first kiss. The first time they gave themselves to each other. In a way, she was also in love with Jon or, at least, projecting onto him the feelings she had for her husband.
“Please tell me something. Anything.” he begged.
“I have memories too, Jon.” she said after a few seconds of hesitation “Memories that are my most precious treasure. Memories that kept me alive at the same time that they were the source of all my suffering.”
He surprised her when he held her hand and gently caressed its back, just like her Aemon used to do and the feelings caused by that gesture were as intense as she remembered. She looked into his eyes and heard herself confessing, “I think I'm in love with you too and I'm terrified.”
She had spent centuries looking for Aemon in other men, and now that she had found someone who looked like him, she didn't know what to do, what to say. She was absolutely terrified of the possibility of falling back in love with someone and losing them again.
Jon pressed her palm against his chest before saying “I am too. Until a few nights ago I believed you weren’t real and now I found you.” he rested his free hand on your cheek, a gesture so familiar it made her heart ache. “But if you want too, I’d love to see where this goes.”
Yes!, she wanted to respond, but Daenerys remembered what she was. She remembered what he was and what he would have to give up to be with her.
“I can't be with you, Jon. I'm sorry, but I need to go.” she said taking a step away from him and started to walk away from him.
“Dany, please don’t go.” he asked in a hopeful tone and she felt herself freeze.
She turned to face him “What did you call me?”
“Dany.” he repeated with a hopeful smile “It’s the name that always came to mind when I thought of you.” he explained “Dany. My Dany.”
Before she could think about what she was doing, Dany had her lips pressing against his, her arms wrapped around his neck. His arms wrapped around her waist, pressing her body even closer to his, and intensifying their kiss.
In that kiss Daenerys felt that she had found her home again after being lost for centuries. She was so intoxicated by the sensation, so caught up in the delicious, familiar feeling of his arms around her and his mouth devouring hers, that she only remembered that she was kissing a human and that she should be careful when she felt the taste of his blood filling her mouth.
Immediately she could feel the thirst burning in her throat, her fangs growing, her predatory instinct trying to take control. Jon let out a moan of pain and surprise, broke their kiss and when he looked into her eyes, she saw his face fill with fear and then shock.
She knew exactly what he was seeing: her violet eyes were now red and her fangs were visible above her lips stained with his blood. She was a frightening sight and she couldn't blame him for his reaction. In fact, she was lucky he didn't run away screaming. She felt her hope being shattered as he released her and took a step, then another away from her.
“What are you?” he asked, running his fingers over his injured lip.
Dany closed her eyes and took a deep breath to control herself. When she opened her eyes, Jon was still staring at her with fear and doubt in his gray eyes. Without taking her eyes off his, she licked the blood from her lips before saying, “I told you I couldn't be with you, Jon. Goodbye.”
She turned around again with the intention of leaving, her heart breaking again, but Jon, once again, stopped her. He held her hand and said in a soft tone “Please stay. I don’t want you to leave me behind.”
She looked him in the eyes and there was sincerity in them, as well as a good amount of fear. “I can hear your heart racing and I can smell your fear, Jon.”
“I didn’t say I wasn’t afraid.”
She watched him for a few seconds. Jon was scared, but he was also sincere in saying that he wanted her to stay.
“As you've just seen, I'm a monster, Jon. A vampire. I feed on humans like you to continue existing.” she explained in a serious tone and looked away at the comet above them. “I still taste your blood in my mouth and part of me wants me to rip out your throat and drink every last drop from your veins.”
“Yes, I want you to stay.” he replied “And now that I’ve seen what you are, many of my memories make sense.” Jon placed a trembling hand on her cheek and stroked it gently before continuing “I remember how exciting it was to hunt. Dany, I remember licking the blood off your skin. I remember drinking other people's blood with you by my side.” she stared at him with her mouth open. “So, this can only mean that, in my other life, I was also a vampire and that I met you, right?”
“Even if that were possible, you are a human now and I am still a monster.” she said in a whisper against his chest “You have a family and friends, you have a whole life ahead of you and I couldn’t ask you to give up all of that for my sake, for the sake of a monster.”
He watched her for a few seconds before saying “I know you would never hurt me on purpose.”
She nodded. No, she would never hurt him.
He gave her a sweet smile before adding, “And monster or not, I will always have those feelings for you.” Jon gave her a sincere smile before asking in a soft tone “How did he die? Your Aemon.”
That question took her by surprise, but she replied “A group of hunters invaded our coven during the day and only I survived.” she felt a lump forming in her throat and stopped. He saw Jon placing his other hand over his heart and forced herself to continue “One of the hunters drove a stake through his heart and I couldn't do anything to save him. So I held him in my arms until he turned to ashes.”
As always, remembering that filled her with pain. Jon pulled her to him, hugged her and she wished she could stay locked in that hug forever, but she couldn't.
“I couldn’t bear to go through all that again.” she said against his chest.
He looked into her eyes for a few seconds and she could see her pain reflected in his eyes. Dany didn't stop him when Jon kissed her and only broke the kiss long enough to whisper against her lips “I've been looking for you my whole life, Dany. I felt finally whole the moment our lips touched.”
He kissed her slowly, and although she could still taste the delicious taste of his blood on her tongue, she held back so as not to hurt him again. Jon, however, kissed her enthusiastically and she ended up letting herself go. But this time it was her blood that filled their mouths, and when she tried to break the kiss, Jon held her even tighter against him. She knew she was strong enough to break away from him if she wanted to, but she didn't want to. He looked at her with hungry eyes as their lips parted and gave her a smile as bright as the sun.
“Daenerys!” he whispered and kissed her again with renewed enthusiasm.
Intoxicated by his kisses, it took her a few seconds to realize what he had said, what name he had called her.
Daenerys.
Her real name.
The name she hadn't told Jon.
Dany broke the kiss and looked him in the eyes.
She swallowed hard before asking “What did you call me?”
He smiled and gave her a mischievous smile before replying “Daenerys.”
She stared at him open-mouthed “But how…”
“I remember.” he said, interrupting her. “I remember everything.”
For a few seconds, she just looked at him as her brain understood the meaning of his words.
I remember everything.
So that meant…
Could she believe it?
Was it even possible?
Could she afford to hope that…
“Aemon?” she whispered with a mix of hope and fear.
He nodded slowly “My Dany.” he whispered and placed a sweet, soft kiss on her lips before looking into her eyes and adding “I said I would find a way to get back to you, didn’t I?” Dany nodded, her eyes filled with tears, and he hugged her and placed a soft kiss on her hair. “I came back to you, Dany. My heart is yours, I am yours for all eternity.”
He kissed her passionately and Daenerys Targaryen felt her heart becoming whole again.
Her love had found his way back to her and they had an entire eternity ahead of them.

Chapter 1
Chapter 2 - The three heads of the dragon
Standing on the outer wall of the fortress, Jon Snow stared in disbelief at the scene before him for several minutes.
Next to the sea of tents, a growing number of people watched what, at first glance, appeared to be a fight between the three dragons and the four direwolves. But a longer examination was enough to see the truth: the dragons and the direwolves were playing as if they were puppies. Through his bond with Ghost, he could feel his direwolf's mirth and enthusiasm as if they were his own.
Jon hurried over to them, and as soon as he got past the curious crowd, he saw that the direwolves were nibbling at the dragons' tails or wings and they were using their long necks to chase the direwolves. He was afraid that the spikes on their tails would hurt the direwolves, but the animals themselves seemed unconcerned about the danger. Every time the dragons flapped their huge wings, a curtain of snow rose up and sometimes the dragons blew smoke from their nostrils and the direwolves licked their snouts. Sometimes the dragons would wrap their long tails around the direwolves, as if they were trying to trap them, and the direwolves would easily jump and run around their huge bodies.
As soon as he got closer to the animals, he noticed that Dany and Arya were already there and went to them. Jon's heart beat faster when he saw Dany wearing his cape once again and a little voice in his mind whispered in a fierce and possessive tone: Mine. Their eyes met and he felt his cheeks heating up and saw hers getting even redder. Jon loved seeing her blush and was looking forward to having a moment alone with her again, and from the look on her face, he could bet she was thinking the same thing.
He couldn't help but remember everything that had happened between them in the last few days and he was sure that she had remembered it too. The first night they spent together was etched in his memory and he remembered the smell of her hair, the warmth and softness of her skin and the taste of her cunt on his tongue. He didn't know what the future held for him, why the red god had brought him back, but he was grateful to have had the chance to meet her, fall in love with her and have her in his arms. The feeling of having her body joined to his would be the last thing he would think about at the time of his death.
“My Queen.” he said in a possessive tone and giving her a slight bow.
“My Lord.” she greeted him with a smile. The same smile she had used to greet him since their first night together.
When he went to Dragonstone with Arya as the King in the North, Jon was ready to negotiate with Daenerys Targaryen if seeing one of the creatures he had taken with them with her own eyes wasn't enough for her to agree to help them. Not to mention that he needed her permission to mine the obsidian in Dragonstone that they needed to manufacture the weapons necessary for the war that was getting closer every day.
He had heard of her stunning beauty, but he was more interested in her deeds in Essos, the three dragons and the enormous army she had brought with her. He knew he shouldn't make the mistake of underestimating her intelligence, her leadership, negotiation and strategic abilities as many others did. He knew he would have to negotiate and bargain with her, make sacrifices and promises to get something from her. But even though he knew what kind of woman he would meet, Jon hadn't expected that he would fall in love the moment he saw her.
Of course, like two monarchs who wanted the other to give in, they had a little friction at first, but soon he understood that Daenerys Targaryen was much more than he had imagined, soon he understood how she had gotten all those people to follow her across the narrow sea to help her retake the throne that Robert Baratheon had usurped. After getting to know her better, Jon realized that he himself would follow her anywhere and would place his sword and his life at her disposal if he had the freedom to do so.
Every moment he had spent with her since then, every time she smiled, every conversation, every look, every touch made a flame burn hotter and hotter in his being, made him feel alive in a way he never had, not even before he was murdered. Daenerys Targaryen's entry into his life had filled his gray existence with color and added flavor to his life. Before meeting her, his only goal was to unify the North to fight the Others and their army of creatures, but now he wanted more. Much more. He wanted the chance to see the arrival of spring. He wanted to plant trees and watch them grow and bear fruit. He wanted to live in times of peace and prosperity. He wanted to have a family. He wanted to have more time, a whole life to live with her.
Arya, who was the only person Jon had spoken to about his feelings for the queen and what had happened between them, went to him and Jon put his arm around her shoulders and placed a kiss on her hair. He had to stop himself from messing up her hair like he used to do when they were younger. Arya would always be his little sister, but she was no longer a child and some things that had been natural in the past in their relationship needed to be left behind.
“I still can't believe what I'm seeing.” he commented.
“We were going to fly them a little and when we got here we came across this.” commented Arya “It looks like something out of a dream, doesn't it?”
Since her arrival in the North, Dany had flown at least once a day with her dragons, both to reconnoitre the surroundings and to familiarize themselves with the region. She had told them that it would be easier to command them during battle if everyone was familiar with the region.
He nodded and asked “How long has this been going on?”
“My men informed me that they have been sharing the food.” replied Dany “They saw the four direwolves taking parts of their kill to the dragons and saw the dragons share their kill with them before burning the meat.”
That information surprised him even more. Predators were not in the habit of sharing the hunt. And he thought that the dragons would be more likely to devour the direwolves than to share their meal with them.
“And that's not all.” she continued “The direwolves slept with the dragons on the nights it snowed. It seems they wanted to make sure the dragons didn’t get cold.”
Jon remembered how Ghost hadn't slept in his quarters, but he had deduced that the direwolf was with Dany in her quarters, since he followed her practically everywhere she went in or out of the fortress. Before he could make any comments, Nymeria began to howl and the other three direwolves responded to her call. And, to everyone's surprise, the three dragons raised their huge heads and roared.
The crowd around them screamed in fear and backed away, but Arya laughed in wonder and he looked at Daenerys. His beloved watched her children emotionally, a happy smile and her cheeks wet with her tears. Jon wished he could take her in his arms, wipe away her tears with his lips, but he couldn't. At least not with so many people around watching them. He knew Dany loved him and wouldn't mind the public display of affection, but he preferred to keep their relationship secret for now. Although he knew she would always do what she thought was right, he did not want her advisors to focus their energy on advising her to give him up when they needed to focus their efforts on the war.
“They’re acting like a pack!” commented Arya in a surprised tone the three humans looked at each other before continuing to observe the animals.
After they stopped howling, Summer and Shaggydog ran towards the fortress, scaring some of the people watching the scene while Ghost and Nymeria sat next to Dany, as if they were her sentries and the Targaryen girl smiled and petted them. His queen looked like a child next to the direwolves and Jon felt his chest fill with warmth at seeing that scene, at seeing how the two direwolves mirrored the feelings he and Arya had for Daenerys.
As if in sync, Rhaegal and Viserion rested their huge heads next to him and Arya. During the time they stayed in Dragonstone, he and his sister had the chance to touch the dragons and even flew Drogon together with Dany several times between Dragonstone and King's Landing, but this was the first time the dragons took the initiative to get closer to them.
His sister laughed in pure delight and stroked the dragon's cream scales.
“Hello boy!” she said in a caring tone.
Jon placed his gloved hand on Rhaegal's dark green scales which, even though they were exposed to the cold Northern air, were warm and Jon loved the feeling of the heat on his skin.
As he petted the dragon, Dany's words came to his mind: Made of the green of summer and the bronze of autumn. She had told him this while the two of them watched the dragons sunbathing on Dragonstone and she told him about her children's personalities. That day, his queen had told him that Rhaegal was the most protective and the most dangerous of her dragons and that when he was smaller, he used to hiss at anyone who threatened her or was rude to her.
He looked nervously at Daenerys. She looked at her dragons with a mixture of surprise, tenderness and pride. Their eyes met and she smiled. Jon looked back at the dragon and his intelligent bronze eyes watched him.
“They like you.” Dany said with a tender smile, like a mother watching her children make new friends. The dragons pressed their heads against them and she explained “Rhaegal and Viserion want you two to fly with them.”
Both siblings looked at their queen as if she had just told them that she was the queen of the Others .
Dany just laughed when she saw their expressions and explained “It's what they want, but it's up to you to decide whether you go or not. But I must warn you that my children will not stop insisting until you do what they want.”
Jon and Arya looked at each other and he could see that his sister was feeling as surprised and honored by this as he was. Both dragons moved their heads, encouraging them to do what their mother said they wanted. Arya, like the fearless girl she always was, was the first to move. She placed a kiss on Viserion's snout and said something in a language he didn't know.
“What did you say to him?” he asked, curious.
“I thanked him and asked him to be careful and patient with me.” she replied, walking to the dragon's flank. Viserion lowered his wing and flank to make it easier for her to climb. Jon watched with his mouth open as his sister climbed onto the dragon's back with ease and grace, a huge smile on her face, and sat down. She stroked his scales and said something in High Valyrian.
“Your turn, my Lord.” Dany said and he looked at her, alarmed.
He remembered that, during his time at the Wall, he had thought a few times how nice it would be to have another thousand men, and maybe a dragon or three to help in the fight against the Others, but he hadn't imagined that not only would his wish be granted, but one of those dragons would practically demand that he ride him.
“But I don’t know how to ride a dragon, Your Grace.” he argued and there was a bit of panic in his voice.
It wasn't because he admired those magnificent giant beasts that he thought it safe to ride one alone.
Dany gave him an amused smile. “I didn’t know either.” she offered. Dany stroked the scales of Drogon, who had approached his mother, and added “I had to learn it while a panicked mob tried to kill Drogon with spears in an arena in Meereen.”
Of course, his beloved Dany was a warrior queen as were several of her ancestors. He had no doubt every one of her ancestors were proud of the woman she was.
“You must tell me this story, Your Grace!” Arya commented.
“Whenever you wish, Lady Arya.” Dany said with a smile.
Sensing his hesitation, Rhaegal moved his head and gently pushed him toward his side.
“Are you scared, brother?” asked Arya with a mocking air. “You can come with me if you don't have the courage to go alone. I promise I will hold your hand the whole time.”
His sister was having fun with the situation and Jon gave her a fake reprimanding look.
“As father used to say, there’s no shame in fear, what matters is how we face it.” he replied, feeling a little less tense as he remembered Lord Eddard's words and his sister laughed.
Jon didn't yet know High Valyrian, but he knew that dragons were intelligent, so he looked once more at the dragon who seemed impatient for him to move and took a deep breath before touching him and saying in an assured and gentle tone “Alright boy, you win.”
Rhaegal lowered his right wing and flank to make his climb easier. Jon felt his heart beat as if he were climbing the Wall once again, and when he finally managed to sit on the dragon's back, Daenerys was already riding Drogon and watching him with a mix of pride and amusement.
“What should I do now?” he asked in a nervous tone and holding on as best he could to Rhaegal's spines.
“They will follow me and we will make a quick flight. Sometimes they make unexpected maneuvers to adjust to wind currents, so stay alert and hold on tight.” she replied with a smile and held tight to Drogon's spines “The ancient dragon riders had saddles made that made flying safer, but we are not like them. We are braver than them.” added her with a wink and asked “Ready for your first solo flight on a dragon?”
“Yes!” replied Arya enthusiastically and caressed Viserion's scales, who reacted by slightly shaking his wings and tail.
He looked at Rhaegal's immense body and smiled nervously before replying “I don't think I'll ever be more ready than I am right now.”
Dany smiled, said something in High Valyrian and in the next instant Drogon took flight and Viserion and Rhaegal followed. The dragon's immense wings carried him higher and higher, and for a few seconds, as Rhaegal gained height, Jon thought he would plummet to his death at any moment. But soon the ascent ended and Rhaegal and Viserion took their places at Drogon's side and glided.
Jon had already looked down on the North when he first climbed to the top of the Wall, but the sensation of seeing his home riding a dragon was like no other. It was an experience Jon would never forget and he couldn't help but feel in awe of the scenery before them, the North was even more beautiful from above.
Far below, Winterfell, the winter town, and the sea of tents grew smaller and smaller and disappeared as Rhaegal broke through the thick layer of clouds that blocked the sunlight from reaching the land. For a few minutes, the dragons flew side by side above the clouds and Jon could feel the warmth of the sun on his face. The warmth of Rhaegal's body was comforting and kept him comfortably warm and he realized he was no longer afraid. In fact, he was feeling free, invincible, unstoppable. For a few moments, he allowed himself to close his eyes and a feeling of freedom filled him and he even forgot that, down there, there was a war waiting for them.
He felt something touching his mind, something like Ghost's presence in his mind, but faint and warm, like the heat of the morning sun. He knew it wasn't his direwolf because he could feel his connection to him in another part of his mind and he knew that if he touched that connection he would be able to feel what his direwolf was feeling.
Noticing that he had noticed it, that presence became stronger and he could feel it demanding his attention with a slight nudge in his consciousness and, intrigued, he focused on that warm sensation and realized that it was Rhaegal's presence in his mind. The moment he recognized that presence as that of the dragon, his entire body was filled with flames, as if he had been engulfed in dragonfire, but the feeling was different from when he had burned his hand.
As the flames receded, Jon realized that there was something different about him and that the warm feeling in his mind was still there. In the back of his mind, he heard an alien thought, a thought that consisted of a mixture of excitement and happiness and anticipation. With absolute surprise he realized that all he had just experienced was the formation of a bond between himself and the dragon. Without knowing what he was doing, Jon had connected and become Rhaegal's rider just as Dany was Drogon's.
Could this have been Rhaegal's intention in insisting that Jon fly with him?
Yes .
Jon only realized he had closed his eyes when he opened them and it took him a few seconds to understand that that thought was coming from the dragon. Rhaegal was showing him how he was feeling and had just answered the question he had thought of!
Unlike Ghost, Rhaegal had a more chaotic and wild mind and he caressed the dragon's scales and focused on that connection and let his emotions be transmitted to the dragon. Rhaegal roared and seemed quite pleased with their interaction.
Drogon broke through the clouds and the other two followed. They flew below the clouds for a while and then the huge black dragon guided them lower and lower until its wings almost touched the canopy of the snow-covered wolfswood. He could feel Rhaegal's excitement as he smelled bears, boars, foxes and treecats, smells that had become familiar to Jon because of Ghost.
After a few minutes, Dany guided them back and they flew over Winterfell, the winter town and the godswood. Far below, Jon could see both the banners of House Stark and House Targaryen fluttering together in the wind and, for a few minutes, the dragons flew in wide circles above the fortress, attracting attention and probably scaring many people below.
He could see that several of the fortress's inhabitants had come out to see what was happening. He recognized Rickon, Meera, Missandei, Irri, Jhiqui, Rakharo, and Ser Barristan. The Lord Commander of Dany's Queensguard sometimes looked at him as if he were seeing some ghost from his past. A ghost that at the same time scared him and brought back memories of a time he missed. Sometimes Jon had the impression that Selmy saw in him someone he had known intimately, someone he had lost and hadn't had time to say goodbye to.
The three dragons landed in the same place they were previously. Admiring and curious looks greeted them as they dismounted the dragons. The three dragons lay down next to each other and the two direwolves joined them naturally.
“This was much better than I imagined! The feeling of freedom is incredible.” said Arya as she joined them and hugged Daenerys who didn't hesitate to return the hug.
Jon watched them tenderly. The two women he loved most in his life had become great friends and were very attached to each other.
“Weren’t you afraid?” asked Dany when they separated.
“Only at the beginning, when we started to climb.” she replied in an enthusiastic tone.
“My sister was always the bravest among my siblings.” he commented and Arya gave him a wide smile.
“Tell me, what did you two feel?” asked Dany in a curious and anxious tone.
“Warmth.” replied Arya as he said “A warm feeling.”
The two brothers looked at each other and Arya continued “And then I felt Viserion's presence in my mind just like I feel Nymeria's.”
Jon nodded. “I felt the same way with Rhaegal and then it was like I was being showered with dragonfire.”
Arya nodded. “Me too. It was scary and freeing at the same time.”
Dany gave them a blindingly proud smile before saying “Now their behavior makes sense. They both chose and bonded with you as their riders.”
Jon and Arya exchanged surprised looks and Arya said “But you're their mother!”
“How is this possible?” Jon asked.
“I will always be their mother and this bond I have with them will never be broken, but I already created a bond as Drogon's rider and the other two needed to find their own riders. And they finally found. It’s the two of you. I suspected this might happen when I saw them playing with Ghost and Nymeria for the first time. she explained “And you will need to fly with them more to strengthen the newly created bonds between them and the two of you.” she added.
They both nodded and then Arya asked in an emotional tone “But why did they choose us?”
Dany gave her a sincere smile before responding, “I believe it's because I trust you two.” and she offered a hand to Arya and another to Jon, and they didn't hesitate to take them. “Since the birth of my dragons, I've thought about what it would be like to meet the other two people who would ride Rhaegal and Viserion.” she continued “I was afraid they would fly away from me and form bonds with people I didn't know or trust, but they couldn't have made better choices.”
Dany had told him and Arya how she had made her dragons' petrified eggs come to life and he couldn't help but remember everything his Dany had lost, everything she had sacrificed to bring the dragons back to the world. Jon felt his heart fill with warmth and pride. He couldn't deny that he felt honored to have been chosen by the dragon.
He kissed his queen's hand before saying “I feel honored to have been chosen by Rhaegal and I promise to do my best to be worthy of the trust of both of you.”
Beside him, Arya nodded before saying “I feel the same way.”
Tears ran down Dany's cheeks and, unable to resist, he took off one of his gloves and gently wiped them away. She gave him a grateful smile before saying “When I lost my entire family and was left alone in a land that wasn't mine, all I could do was regain the kingdom of my ancestors and seek to improve everyone's lives. I have come to wish that the Targaryen house name was associated with prosperity and new, better times. I wanted to give a better, new world to the people of Westeros and I imagined that to do so I would have to marry someone to strengthen alliances, but I didn't expect that I would find a new family with my allies.”
Jon and Arya hugged her. They were separated by the arrival of one of the Unsullied. He approached Dany and handed her a message and then one to Jon and said something he didn't understand.
Arya whispered “He said the crows just arrived and Sam asked him to deliver them.”
He thanked his sister for her kindness and read the message. It came from the Wall with news about the movements of the creatures.
Jon saw Dany smile as she finished reading hers. “Lady Asha reports that all boats have left for Dragonstone.”
One of the Queen's biggest concerns was evacuating people who were unable to fight to the islands around Westeros. The Lords and Ladies of the North had organized everything while he and Arya were in Dragonstone mining obsidian and helping Dany retake the Iron Throne and unify Westeros. The fact that they had a creature to show and prove what was happening in the North had made their job easier.
Initially they would evacuate the northmen to Dragonstone. Fortunately Lady Asha had offered to also welcome people to the Iron Islands and, with Lady Brienne's intermediation, Lord Selwyn Tarth would also welcome refugees to Tarth. With more places available, they decided to evacuate the regions below the Neck as well. If necessary, they would also send refugees to Driftmark, and Claw Isle, and even to Essos.
“And Lord Manderly reports that the first ships with wildfire arrived at White Harbor and half of them continued on to the Wall.” she continued “He will prepare the rest of the cargo for transport in the next few days. The boats will return to King’s Landing taking more refugees to Dragonstone.”
They had found an enormous amount of wildfire stored underground in King's Landing. Ser Jaime had told them how the Queen's father had planned to use it to burn King's Landing during the usurper's rebellion and, years earlier, some of it had been used by Lord Tyrion against Stannis's fleet.
Their plan was to use some of the wildfire to burn the section of forest closest to the Wall when the creatures began to attack. The other part would be used in traps spread between the Wall and Winterfell and, if possible, even Moat Cailin and would be triggered by the dragons. Now that he and Arya had formed bonds with Rhaegal and Viserion, it would be easier to do so and they could spread more traps over greater distances.
“This one came from the Wall.” he said and looked at two before continuing “Lord Commander Satin says the Rangers have spotted hordes of creatures in several locations throughout the Wall.”
That news made Jon remember the dream he had had when he was still Lord Commander in which the creatures climbed the Wall and he, dressed in black ice armor and a red flaming sword in his hand, sent them back down.
“They must be looking for some weak point to get through.” Arya commented.
He nodded “The Watch builders inspected the entire length of the Wall and repaired the most critical points with the help of the free folk. Giants and mammoths have been a great help in this work.”
“We’d better discuss this with the others.” commented Dany “Perhaps Lord Bran can give us more details about the movements of the creatures.”
The three headed back to the fortress and met with the others to share and discuss the new information. Daenerys suggested that they fly to the Wall to see the situation up close and decide what to do from there and everyone agreed.
The studio emptied out soon after, and as soon as the two were alone, Jon pulled her to him and kissed her until they were both breathless.
When their lips parted, he said “Hi.”
“Hi.” she replied with a smile.
Jon hugged her and she snuggled into his chest to stay warm. He captured her lips with his in a fiery kiss and felt her melt in his arms.
“I missed you.” he whispered against her lips.
He felt her smile and her arms tightened around his torso. “You have no idea how much I wanted to kiss you when I saw you riding Rhaegal.”
“Hmmm… and you have no idea how much I want to kiss you every time I see you. Especially when you’re using something that was mine.”
She moved a few inches away from him and looked him in the eyes.
“The cape isn’t the only thing of yours I’m wearing.” she commented in a suggestive tone.
An involuntary groan escaped him as she showed him the mark he had left on her neck. She had also left several marks on him. His back showed her scratches and there was a bite on his shoulder. The memory of their bodies entwined made him wish he could have her there and now.
His Dany laughed softly and his heart skipped a beat. Maybe he wasn't brought back from the dead just to fight the Others. The more time he spent next to the woman in his arms, the more he thought he was brought back so he could love her.
“Will you see me tonight?” she asked and there was a mixture of anxiety and desire in her beautiful violet eyes.
“If that is what my queen wishes.”
“Yes, that is what I wish.” she stated “Is that what you want?”
He nodded “I want to spend this and every night and every day that I have left by your side.”
She gave him a warm smile before saying, “Then we both want the same thing, my love.”
He had no idea what good he had done in life to deserve the privilege of having the love of a woman like Daenerys Targaryen.
“Say it again.” he asked.
Dany smiled and repeated “My love.”
“Again.”
She laughed and repeated “My love.”
Jon caressed her cheek and she closed her eyes. “Do you have any idea how much I love you?”
Dany opened her eyes and looked at him “I know how much I love you.” she replied “I would gladly sacrifice my life for yours, Jon.”
That was exactly how Jon felt. He would also sacrifice his own life for her and, he felt, he would sacrifice even Westeros for her, but he knew his Dany well enough to know that she would sacrifice her own life for their people and would never accept their sacrifice for her. As she herself had told him, a monarch belonged to the people and the gods put them in the world to protect those who could not protect themselves.
“And my life is yours, Dany.” he informed “Yours to do with it, with me, whatever you want.”
She gave him a tender smile and asked “Whatever I want?” he nodded and she added “How about a kiss?”
He fulfilled her request enthusiastically and, after one last kiss, they separated. He would get his things ready for the trip to the Wall the next morning so he could spend the night with his Dany without worrying about it.
Ghost caught up to him before he reached his quarters and his chest filled with warmth as he thought of how their pack had grown with the arrival of Daenerys and her dragons in their lives.
As Old Nan had once told him, when the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives, and if it were up to Jon, his entire pack would see the arrival of spring.

Chapter 3 - Harvesting love
He is hot!
That was the first thought that crossed Daenerys Targaryen's mind when she saw Arya, her cousin Gendry's girlfriend, approaching them in the company of her older brother.
Gendry had described Jon Snow to her a few times over the past few weeks, probably trying to get her interested in him, but never once had he said he was so handsome and attractive. Her cousin had talked about his sense of humor, his personality and even his performance in sports and that he shared some physical attributes with Arya, but he hadn't said that he was mesmerizingly handsome.
Not that Quentyn Martell, the last guy her nephew and niece, Aegon and Rhaenys, introduced her to before her trip to Highgarden wasn't attractive, but upon seeing the northman walking towards her, Daenerys was not only forced to control her expression but couldn't help but to think that she would like to climb him as if he were a tree.
Gendry went to meet his girlfriend and, next to her, Missandei whispered in a provocative tone “You liked him, didn’t you?”
Dany gave her a disapproving look, but her friend laughed at her reaction. Missandei knew her too well and Dany knew that responding or remaining silent wouldn't make a difference.
“Yes, you did!” she said and before Dany could say anything, the three joined them and Gendry said “Guys, this is Jon, Arya's older brother." he turned to Jon and said “These are our friends Missandei and Gray and my cousin Daenerys.”
Jon was even more handsome up close and when he smiled, Dany felt something very similar to the feeling of butterflies flying madly in her stomach.
They exchanged greetings and Jon said “I’ve heard so much about you guys and it’s a pleasure to be able to meet you in person.”
“Arya talks about her big brother all the time.” Missandei said with a smile.
Jon smiled, wrapped an arm around his sister's shoulders and kissed her hair.
“And we were all excited to meet you when she said you’d be joining us for the weekend.” added Gray.
Arya smiled and said “I spent weeks talking about how much fun we had last year and how I wanted him to meet you guys, but it was Gendry who managed to convince him to come.”
Arya looked at her boyfriend and he raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. “I still don't know how I managed to convince him.”
She looked at her brother “I just thought it would be nice to meet new people and a different culture.” Jon offered.
“You definitely need to meet new people, Jon.” said Arya in a serious tone and turned to them before adding “As this is his first time at the festival, we'll have to show him as much as possible over the weekend.”
They took turns telling Jon about the festival and what they had planned to do over the weekend. This was Dany's second time visiting the festival and she planned to make it a tradition. During harvest time, the entire Reach region was filled with tourists from all over Westeros and from outside the country as well. There were more than twenty cities in the region and each of them held its own festival, but Highgarden's harvest festival was the largest of them and the most famous in Westeros. It took place during the first full moon of autumn and lasted a week. In general, the entire region celebrated harvest time in the same way: with lots of food and drink, with songs about the land and the harvest, dances and open-air theatrical performances related to local legends.
“We can start with the food booths.” suggested Dany and she noticed that Jon was watching her closely “And then check out the local craft booths while we wait for the evening's shows and cultural presentations to begin.”
Everyone agreed and for a few minutes they walked as a group. But then, with some irritation, Dany watched as her friends split into couples so that not only could they walk more easily through the crowd, but also to force her and Jon to keep each other company. She had no doubt that Arya and Gendry's plan was to set them up. Although she didn't deny that she found Jon attractive, she didn't need her friends to set her up for her to get her a boyfriend.
“They don’t even hide that they’re trying to set us up!” he commented as the two walked behind their friends.
“They must think they are being very subtle.” she agreed and they both laughed.
“I'm so sorry. You don’t have to hang out with me if you don’t want to.” he said “I’m feeling embarrassed about this situation.”
“No need to apologize, I know it’s not your fault.” he gave her a grateful smile and she continued “They're only doing this because they care about both of us, so since we're here, what do you think about us being friends?” she asked and he gave her a curious look. “I'm not ready to get into another relationship right now, but I'm always open to new friends.”
“That’s a great idea, Dany.” he said, looking relieved and then asked “Can I call you Dany?” she nodded and he smiled before continuing “I'm also always open to new friendships and it's much easier to have fun without so much pressure.”
“I’m glad we agreed.”
From then on, the mood between them became lighter and the two strolled through the attractions and booths knowing that their smiles and comments were spontaneous and genuine. Dany felt comfortable with Jon and he seemed comfortable with her. He made her laugh and talk about things she usually kept to herself , and less than two hours after meeting him, she felt like she had known him her entire life.
They talked about their childhoods and their families. About their pets. He had an albino dog named Ghost and she had three cats named Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion. About their fears and their dreams. About their plans for the future and their latest relationships.
“Ygritte and I were a very toxic couple.” he explained “When we weren't in bed, we always managed to bring out the worst in each other. The two of us would fight for almost any reason, and most of the time, one of us would break up and the other would regret it and ask to get back together. She was my first in many things, and although I loved her very much and thought I would spend my whole life with her, I felt lonely even with her by my side.”
Dany nodded and gave him an understanding smile. She understood well that feeling of feeling alone even though you were next to your partner. She had felt this way with all her boyfriends, especially Daario.
He took out his cell phone and showed her a photo of him together with his ex, Arya and Ghost. Ygritte was a pretty redhead, and from her posture in the photo, Dany couldn't help but think about what a possessive girl she seemed to be.
Jon put his cell phone in his pocket and pointed to the scar on his face before saying “During one of our fights a few months ago, she used a fork to scratch my face because she didn't want other women to find me attractive and that's when I realized I couldn't go on with her anymore. So I broke up with her and have been refusing her calls for months and avoiding places I know I can meet her. I know she will ask me for forgiveness and say she will change, but I know she won't change and I don't want to give in to temptation.” he concluded.
“I’m sorry for what she did to you.” she said, and before she could control herself, Dany heard herself adding, “And know that she couldn't make you any less attractive, Jon.”
He gave her a satisfied smile and asked “What about you?”
“I got out of an abusive relationship.” she replied “I met Daario at a party at my father's company. He is the charming and flirtatious type with everyone and that's what won me over in the beginning. He treated me like his trophy girlfriend and liked to control what I ate and drank, my clothes, my makeup and the jewelry I wore, and even the size and style of my hair. He even tried to control when I could talk to or meet my friends, and for a while it didn't bother me because I thought he just cared about me. But when I realized he liked fucking his boss's daughter more than he liked me, I decided it was time to break up. I realized that I didn't love him, I loved the way he had made me feel in the beginning, like I was precious and unique to him.” she laughed bitterly. “He was furious with me, because not only did he have plans to propose to me, he had already bought the ring and asked my father for permission.”
Dany took out her cell phone and showed him one of her photos with Daario. She had deleted most of them, but preserved the ones where they were with her friends or family.
“My father and brother really like him and tried to convince me to get back together with him, but I refused.” she continued “This trip is to give me a break from all the pressure.”
“You know they can’t force you to marry someone you don’t love, don’t you?”
"I know." she replied “They will stop insisting as soon as I find someone else.”
“I understand and I feel like Ygritte will only leave me alone when she sees me with someone else too.”
he said and then his expression changed, as if he had just had an epiphany, and he gave her a conspiratorial look.
“What is it?” she asked, curious.
“Nothing.”
“Jon!” she said and held his hand making him stop and look at her “Tell me!”
“It was just a silly idea.”
“I want to know it anyway!”
“All right.” he agreed. “It’s just a silly idea.” he repeated “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.”
“What is it?” she asked anxiously.
“We can take a photo together and post it on our social media making it appear that we are on a date. Since that is their intention, our friends would certainly confirm it if Ygritte and Daario asked them.” he said finally “But only if you want.”
She thought for a few seconds. That wasn't a bad idea. “I agree. Lets do this.”
Jon gave her a cheerful smile, but then he saw something behind her that made him look serious. In the next second, he was holding her against his body and his lips were pressing against hers. Just that contact left her breathless and before Dany had time to react, he hugged her and whispered in an urgent, pleading tone against her neck “Please, Dany. Just play along.”
She didn't have time to say anything before she heard a woman's voice say in a happy and surprised tone, “Jon?”
He released her and said in a serious tone “Ygritte.”
Dany turned and found herself facing Jon's ex. He held her hand tightly as if he were afraid she would abandon him and, understanding the situation and his urgent tone, Dany brought her body closer to his, contributing to the image that the two were a couple.
“Hello! It’s so good to see you again!”
“It’s good to see you too, Ygritte.” he greeted her in a polite tone and the girl smiled. Jon turned to Dany before saying, “This is Daenerys, my girlfriend.”
The redhead's smile faded when she heard his words and her expression filled with jealousy when she saw the two holding hands. Had she come to him with the idea of reconciliation?
“Girlfriend? I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.”
“It’s something recent.” Dany said and offered her hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” she said with a polite smile.
The girl greeted her with an embarrassed smile “I'm Ygritte. It's nice to meet you too.”
“Jon told me a lot about you.” Dany added, which technically wasn't a lie.
“Is that true?” Ygritte asked, giving her ex a curious look and he nodded. His expression didn't reveal what he was feeling or thinking, but from the way he held her hand, Dany deduced that he wasn't very comfortable or happy with the situation.
“Don’t worry, he only said good things about you.” she explained.
The redhead looked at Jon before saying “I knew you were here, but I didn't imagine I would find you so easily or accompanied.”
She definitely came looking for him wanting a reconciliation, Dany thought, And if Jon wanted a reconciliation, he wouldn't have kissed me or told her we were together.
Very consciously , Dany snuggled against Jon and placed her free hand on his chest. In the next second, his other hand landed on hers and held it tightly.
“And I never imagined I would find you here.” he commented “You were never a big fan of that stuff when we were together.”
“People change, Jon.” she argued and gave him a stern look.
“I know people change, but not everyone has the patience to wait.” he argued.
Ygritte looked offended, but she forced herself to smile and say, “It was good to see you again.” she looked at Dany “It was nice meeting you.”
“It was nice meeting you, too.” she said and Ygritte left.
When the two were alone, Dany asked “I am your girlfriend?”
“I'm sorry I put you in this situation, but please, Dany, I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend. Just for the weekend!” he asked, still holding her hands. She tried to ignore the fact that she was loving the feel of his skin against hers and that the idea of being his girlfriend didn't bother her.
“Why don’t you just tell her you don’t want to get back together with her anymore?”
“You don’t know her.” he replied “Ygritte can be quite persuasive when she wants something.”
“So you still have feelings for her.” she asked, but it sounded more like a statement.
He thought for a few seconds “No, I don't. At least not positive feelings. But being with her is like an old habit, and like a habit, I need time to break it.”
She nodded and took a deep breath before saying, “Our friends are going to be unbearable when they see us together, even if it's just pretending.”
Jon smiled, hugged her and twirled her around in his arms. Even without meaning to, she laughed. The people around them looked at them, some with curiosity, some with confusion, some with surprise, and some just smiled as if they were witnessing something unexpected yet sweet.
“Thank you, Dany. Thank you!” he said as he set her down.
“Don’t thank me yet.” she said, her heart beating fast due to her proximity to him. “And I want you to promise me that you won’t fall in love with me this weekend.”
He looked at her for a few seconds and there was something in his gray eyes that she couldn't decipher. Jon took her hand and placed a soft kiss before saying, looking into her eyes, “I promise.”
Arya and Gendry chose that moment to reappear and their smug smile only confirmed what Dany had thought. To their credit, the newcomers made no comment about what they had just seen.
“We got great seats to watch today’s show.” Gendry said.
“Missie and Gray are waiting for us there.” added Arya.
They nodded and let the two lead them through the crowd.
“Ygritte is here.” she heard Arya tell her brother in a disgusted tone.
"I know. We just spoke.” he informed.
“And how did she react to seeing you with Dany?” she asked.
“Better than I expected.” he replied “But we still have the whole weekend to see if she can control herself.”
They joined Missandei and Gray to watch the show. Dany suggested to Jon that they take a photo together and post it just as he had suggested and they did. And when they went to take a group photo and Jon wrapped his arms around her and placed a tender kiss on her hair, for a few seconds she allowed herself to think that it was real.
---
The next morning there was some unpleasant news waiting for her when Dany came down for breakfast.
“Daario is here.” said Missandei as soon as she saw her.
She sat down on the chair opposite her friend and asked “Here at our hotel or here in the city?”
“Both.” she replied “Gray told me he asked about you and he refused to answer, of course.”
Dany closed her eyes and took a deep breath before asking, “How did he find out I was here?”
“What do you think?” asked Missie and they both said at the same time “Viserys.”
Of course. Reservations at the hotel they were staying in had been sold out weeks ago because of the festival and the only way Daario would have been able to stay there was if Viserys offered him his reservation. She should have suspected this might happen when her brother asked her to make reservations for him too. Her brother had been friends with Daario for years and was much more interested in having him as a member of the family than Daenerys herself had ever been.
“At least we’ll be gone for the day and he won’t have the chance to get close to you.” said her friend trying to cheer her up.
Their group would spend the day taking a walk around Highgarden, visiting some ancient fortresses and castles and tasting the delicacies made by the residents at that time of year.
“That doesn’t mean he’s going to give up, Missie.”
“But you’re with Jon now. Daario will leave you alone when he finds out you’re together.”
“That is the problem.” Dany said, looking her in the eyes “We’re not together.”
Missandei stared at her open-mouthed “But I thought you guys were getting along well! Did he try to do something you didn’t want?”
“It's not that.” Dany clarified “We’re pretending we’re together because of his ex.”
Missandei's face filled with a mix of disappointment and sadness and she held her hand on the table in a consoling gesture. Dany gave her a summary of what Jon had told her and what had happened last night.
“That's a shame. You two look so perfect together.” said Missie when she finished.
Dany gave her a sad smile. “We both agreed to just be friends, Missie.”
“Well, in case you don’t remember, Gray and I were also friends before we became a couple.” she commented in a hopeful tone.
Dany didn't have a chance to respond, as at that moment Jon, Arya, Gendry and Gray entered the restaurant. Jon placed a soft kiss on her hair and sat down next to her. Around them, their friends exchanged happy and satisfied glances. They ate while talking about the itinerary they would follow on the tour and, about an hour later, they left the hotel.
“You won’t guess who also decided to show up here.” she said when the two had a chance to be alone.
“Your ex.” Jon said and she looked at him “Gendry showed him to me when we were leaving the hotel.”
“Oh.” she said and a strange silence weighed between the two for a few seconds.
“If you want to go back to him, I understand.” said Jon in a determined tone. “We can fake a disagreement and you're free of me. I think I can handle Ygritte on my own.”
Dany looked at him “If there is one thing that I am absolutely certain of in my life, it is that I don’t want to get back together with Daario.”
Jon gave her a relieved smile. Dany held his hand and said “Come on, boyfriend, there’s still a lot for us to see and savor before we go back to the hotel.”
He gave her a bright smile and they joined their friends.
Shortly afterwards, Ygritte crossed their path. This time, it was Dany who saw Jon's ex first and, even though she knew that just being close to him or holding his hand was enough to give the impression that they were together, Dany wrapped her arms around his neck and he responded by wrapping his arms around her waist. She stood on tiptoe and he met her halfway.
“Ygritte is here.” she whispered against his lips and, in response, Jon held her tighter and kissed her enthusiastically.
Dany returned the kiss with the same enthusiasm and tried to ignore all the feelings and sensations, tried to ignore the heat building up in her body, especially between her legs.
Ygritte didn't interrupt them this time, but about half an hour later, she and her friends split up to buy some gifts to take home. Dany found the redhead in one of the artisanal products stores where she went to buy soaps produced in the region to take to her mother, her sister-in-law and her niece.
“Hey!” said a vaguely familiar voice and Dany turned to see it was the redhead. “It's Daenys, isn't it?”
Dany had no doubt that the girl had gotten her name wrong on purpose, probably trying to provoke her, but she gave her a polite smile and corrected her “It's Daenerys. Hi, Ygritte.”
She gave her a small satisfied smile, looked around as if searching for something or someone and asked “Isn’t Jon with you?”
“No, he’s with Arya buying some gifts for their mother in another store.”
“Oh, Lyanna is a wonderful woman, isn’t she? I can’t say who he likes more, his mother or his sister.” she commented and Dany thought she heard a hint of jealousy in her voice.
The night they met, Jon had said he didn't know his biological father and had spoken little about his mother, but it was obvious that he really liked her and that the two were very close.
Trying to avoid any more questions, Dany just smiled and nodded.
“Can I ask you something personal?” Ygritte asked.
“Sure.”
“How long have you and Jon been together? I ask because no one in his family had heard of you or knew you existed until he posted a photo of you together yesterday.”
So Ygritte was still in contact with Jon's family and getting news of him through them. Did he know that? Was his mother in favor of him getting back together with Ygritte even though their relationship was so troubled?
Dany looked at her for a few seconds as she thought about how to answer that question. Was the girl suspecting that she and Jon were not, in fact, together? If so, then she needed to be careful with her answers.
“Technically we started dating yesterday.” she replied “When you found us, Jon had just asked me to be his girlfriend. But we had already been talking online for weeks.”
“How did you meet him?”
“My cousin, Gendry, is Arya’s boyfriend and we met through them.”
She nodded slowly and there was something like betrayal in her eyes.
“Do you like Jon?”
“I wouldn’t date him if I didn’t like him.” she replied.
“Then let me give you some advice.” she continued, taking a step towards her “Don’t get too attached to Jon. I marked him as mine and nothing you do or say will break the connection between the two of us. He doesn't know what's good for him and I know he's only with you to make me jealous and show me that he can have the woman he wants, whenever he wants. As soon as he thinks I've learned my lesson, he'll leave you and come back to me.” Ygritte took another step, invading Dany's personal space. “I'm his and he's mine and it won't be a woman like you who's going to make that change.”
Dany didn't back down. She just looked her in the eyes and smiled before saying “If you were really so sure about that, you wouldn't be here saying these things to me. And you wouldn’t have come after Jon either.”
Her eyes filled with fury, and for a second, Dany thought Ygritte would slap her.
“I already warned you. He is mine and I don’t share.” she practically growled and those words seemed to awaken Dany's protective instinct.
“He was yours, Ygritte. Was. As you know, Jon has already moved on.” replied Dany, “And since you were so helpful in giving me advice, let me return the favor. You should start thinking about moving on too. He's with me now and nothing you say or do will make me give up on him.”
The girl didn't say anything and simply turned and started walking towards the door.
“Ygritte, wait.” said Dany and went to the redhead. “Now that I've had the opportunity to meet you in person, I need to thank you for everything you've done to Jon.”
“What do you mean?” she asked in a defensive tone.
“Everything he went through with you made him the perfect man for me.” she replied with a small satisfied smile.
Ygritte laughed before saying, “Let's see if you'll continue to think that when he's in my arms again, Daenys.”
Dany couldn't help but laugh at that provocation as she watched her leave the store and only then did she worry about making her purchases. As she chose the products she would buy, she replayed in her mind what had just happened. Ygritte seemed, in fact, to still like Jon and Dany couldn't help but wonder what she could do to try to convince him to reconcile with her.
After finishing her purchases, Dany went in search of her friends. She had arranged to meet them at the end of the street and she wanted to tell Jon what Ygritte had told her. However, as soon as she left the store, Daario found her.
She hadn't had much luck in love, so the first time she attended the harvest festival she made a wish at the labyrinth fountain, and when she met Daario a few weeks later, she thought he was the answer to that wish. It had taken her almost a year to understand that he wasn't.
Before him there had been Drogo, a sexy Dothraki who had looked at her and treated her as if she were his property. And Xaro Xhoan Daxos, a charming and elegant merchant from Qarth who had proposed to her about twenty minutes after they met.
“I was looking for you everywhere, Princess.”
Since she found out that he was not only in the city but also in the same hotel as her, Dany had prepared herself for the moment when she would meet him.
“Daario.” she greeted him with a hostile tone.
He pressed a kiss to her cheek, so close to her mouth that she had to move her head before he kissed her lips. She took a step away from him and he gave her a disappointed look.
Before she asked how he found her, she remembered that she had received a message from Viserys asking her where she was and if she was having fun and Dany had naively told him where she was and what she was doing. Of course Viserys had shared the information with his friend.
“Aren’t you going to ask what I’m doing here?”
“I already know what you’re doing here, Daario.” she replied. He gave her a mischievous smile before saying “Then you also know that I won't take no for an answer.”
“You may not want to accept my no, but you will have to accept the fact that I…”
“There you are, sweetheart.” Jon said, interrupting her, his arm wrapping possessively around her waist and pressing his body against hers.
Daario looked at Jon with a confused expression that turned irritated when he looked at his arm around her waist.
“Sorry it took so long. I ran into an old friend and ended up losing track of time.” he continued, ignoring Daario's existence. “Do you remember Sam?”
She had no idea who Sam was, but she nodded and responded enthusiastically, “Of course! How is he?”
“He is great. Gilly is pregnant and they decided to get married.” he replied in an excited tone.
“What good news! They were made for each other.” she said in an excited tone. “We need to look for a gift for them and the baby when we get home.”
Jon gave her an excited smile and nodded. “I think they're going to ask us to be the baby's godparents.”
The sound of throat clearing caught their attention. Daario watched them with a hostile expression.
“Princess, won’t you introduce me to your friend?” he asked.
She looked at him as if she had forgotten his existence and said in an irritated tone “Of course. Daario, this is Jon Snow, my boyfriend. Jon this is…”
“I am her future husband.” Daario interrupted her in a petulant tone.
Dany gave him a venomous look and corrected him “That’s Daario, my ex.”
Jon gave him a polite smile and offered his hand and Daario shook it. “Dany mentioned you once or twice before.” commented Jon.
“Just mentioned me?” asked Daario looking offended “We dated for years and almost got married and she just mentioned me?”
Years? We've barely spent eight months together!, she thought, but she didn't get the chance to correct him as Jon responded in an indifferent tone “Apparently there wasn’t much else to mention, even after eight months together.” and she wanted to kiss him just because he corrected Daario.
Daario gave her a hurt look. “I thought you would have more to say about your first love, Princess.”
“You were many things in my life, Daario, but you were not my first love.”
“Ouch!” he said, placing his hand over his heart and pretending he had been hit by a projectile. “You don't need to be so cruel to me just to impress your new toy, Princess.”
She felt Jon tense up and hold her tighter against him.
“If thinking that makes you feel better, then keep going.” she countered.
Daario looked at Jon “Don't be fooled by her delicate beauty, boy. She will break your heart when she gets tired of you and will abandon you without a drop of remorse.”
To her surprise, Jon said, “I would be honored to have my heart broken by a woman as extraordinary as Dany, but thanks for the warning.”
She gave him a sincere smile “It’s not in my plans to break your heart, my love.” she said and Jon gave her a sweet smile that made her wish he would kiss her again.
Daario apparently wasn't willing to just leave her alone, as he said “She seems perfect, but let me tell you she has some pretty annoying flaws.”
Dany looked at him “And you were perfect, weren’t you?” she replied, feeling her blood boil with anger.
“Maybe what made her imperfect in your eyes is exactly what makes her perfect in mine.” Jon intervened and there was a hint of irritation in his voice.
“I see she already has you wrapped around her little finger, so let me warn you that my Princess prefers more experienced men, if you know what I mean.” stated Daario giving Jon an insinuating wink “So let's see if you'll keep thinking like that when she abandons you the way she abandoned me. And since I know it won't take long, if I were you, I wouldn't get too attached to her.” he looked at her and added “I'll be waiting for you when you get tired of him.”
“There is no future between the two of us, Daario. And you know that very well.” she said and Daario just gave her a teasing wink and walked away.
“Will you be mad at me if I punch him the next time he talks to you like that?” Jon asked as he watched Daario walk away.
"Don't worry. If he talks to me like that one more time, I will have the pleasure of breaking his nose myself.” she said and asked “Who are Sam and Gilly?”
He seemed confused by the sudden change of subject, but replied “Sam is my friend and Gilly is his wife.”
“And they’re really here?”
"No. Missandei saw Daario and we decided to look for you. I had to think quickly when I saw you two.”
She gave him a grateful smile and said “He's lucky it was you and not Missandei who found us.”
“Why?”
She gave him a wicked smile. “She carries pepper spray in her purse and promised she would use the whole can on him the next time he bothers me.”
Jon laughed and the sound made the butterflies in her stomach flutter. She didn't want to ruin the moment, but she needed to tell him about Ygritte.
“I met Ygritte before I met Daario.” she said and told everything that had happened.
Jon was uncomfortable and apologized. “I really didn't think she would have the courage to confront you or that she would come to Highgarden, actually.”
“Do you have any idea who might have told her you would be here?”
Jon thought for a few seconds. “It must have been one of our mutual friends.” he replied and then added “My trip here wasn't exactly a secret.”
Dany smiled and suggested “I think we should introduce her to Daario.”
“Since they don’t know when to give up, they will either come together to separate us or they will make a perfect couple.” he said.
They both laughed and her eyes rested on his lips for a few seconds. Not for the first time, Dany wished their relationship was real, that she could just kiss him whenever she wanted and touch him without needing an excuse.
Jon offered her his hand and she took it. As they walked together to meet the others, Dany realized that when she had made Jon promise not to fall in love with her, she had not taken into consideration the fact that she would fall in love with him.
Missandei found them and Dany quickly told her what had happened. They didn't see Ygritte or Daario again and she allowed herself to enjoy that moment with Jon knowing that everything would end the next night.
But apparently fate had something different in mind.
That night, when they arrived at the festival site and their friends separated from them to participate in fun as a couple, leaving her and Jon alone, he turned to her and said in a serious tone “Can I talk to you for a moment?” she nodded “Do you know of a place where we can talk more privately?”
She nodded. The festival was held outside the Highgarden Castle, but public access was only permitted during the day. Then, knowing that there would be few people around, she guided him towards it. Taking care not to be seen by security, she took him to one of the gardens close to the castle where they could talk in complete privacy.
“Ygritte came to see me when we arrived at the hotel.” he said when they stopped.
Dany felt her heart skip a beat when she heard him, but she waited for him to continue.
“I don't know how, but she found out my room number and went there to try to reconcile with me. She said she loved me and that I would never find someone who loved me as much as she did, that she had already learned her lesson and that I could discard you and come back to her.” Jon made the quote gesture with his fingers when he said the word discard.
“And what did you say?” she asked.
“I said I didn’t want anything to do with her anymore, not even to be friends with her.” he replied and she felt her body fill with relief and then with a mix of jealousy and fear when he continued “First she tried to kiss me and take me to bed. This was an old tactic of hers and it always worked, but when she noticed my disinterest, Ygritte became very angry.” he took a deep breath “And then she told me that she didn't need to beg for my love and that she had cheated on me with one of her co-workers, that she looked for him every time we fought.” he looked at her “I can't say it didn't bother me to know I was cheated on, but it didn't hurt. You understand?” he asked and she nodded “And when she left I felt relief and that I had finally closed that chapter of my life.”
She deduced that he was saying that because he wanted them to stop pretending that they were together and said “Then we don't need to keep pretending that we are together anymore.”
For a second, she could have sworn she saw panic in his beautiful gray eyes.
“I think she might still be in town, and besides, I’m not leaving you alone while that asshole ex of yours is around.”
“You don’t have to do this, Jon. I can handle Daario, don’t worry.” she said she said in a carefree tone, but hoping that he would say that he wanted to continue their theater until the next night.
“I know you can do it, Dany, but I…”
Jon hesitated, as if he wasn't sure what to say. He looked into her eyes for a few seconds and then kissed her. Taken by surprise, she felt herself freeze. They had kissed other times, but only when one of their exes was around.
Probably taking her surprise as rejection, Jon released her and took a step away from her.
“Dany, I… I swear I didn’t mean to… I just, I didn’t think… you were there and then suddenly… I felt and… I… I mean, I am so…” he stammered.
Even though she was enjoying seeing him embarrassed, with his red cheeks and stumbling over his words, Dany silenced him with a kiss. Her arms wrapped around his neck and Jon didn't hesitate to respond and his arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
“Jon, I want this to be real.” she whispered against his lips.
“What?” he asked and there was hope in his voice and in his gray eyes.
“Us.” she replied “I want us to be real boyfriend and girlfriend. No more pretending.”
He looked at her for a few seconds before giving her a tender smile “Oh, Dany, but for me it was always real. Every second we spent together was real to me.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” he replied “And I also want our relationship to be real.” he kissed her cheeks “I want to be able to show everyone that I am yours.” he kissed her nose “I want to be able to hold your hand and kiss you whenever I want.”
She gave him a sweet smile before teasingly reminding him of his promise to her “You promised you wouldn’t fall in love with me.”
He looked her in the eyes and gave her a sweet smile before confessing “I embarked on this trip already enchanted by you after hearing Arya and Gendry talking about you and I fell in love the second I saw you, Dany.” he placed his hand on her cheek and traced the outline of her lower lip with his thumb. “These two days with you have been some of the best days of my life and I was scared that you wouldn't feel the same way I do. I was scared I would never see you again.” he held her hand and placed a soft kiss on her palm. “I was scared that I would never have the privilege of holding your hand again,” he looked into her eyes, “because yours is the only hand I want to hold for the rest of my life.”
He kissed her lips and looked into her eyes before adding “I spent all day thinking about kissing you. When you kissed me today I thought it was because you wanted to, but then you said you saw Ygritte and destroyed my hopes.”
She gave him a sincere smile and confessed “I kissed you because I wanted to kiss you. Ygritte was just an excuse. And I wouldn’t have made any kind of opposition if you had kissed me other times.”
“I will remember that every time I want to kiss you.” he said and gave her a mischievous smile.
“You have no idea what that smile of yours does to me.” she confided, pulling him closer to her so she could kiss him.
“If it has just one percent of the effect yours has on me, then I have an idea.” he confessed against her lips.
He kissed her and her hands plunged into his hair. Dany pressed herself against him and Jon moaned into her mouth. She laughed and he looked her in the eyes before saying “Don’t start something we can’t finish.”
She gave him a mischievous smile. “And who said I don’t intend to finish?”
He looked her in the eyes for a few seconds as if he was assessing her, making sure she was serious.
“You really are serious.”
“I wanted you from the first moment I saw you, Jon. So yes, I am serious.”
The hungry look Jon gave her made her shiver and she kissed him with renewed vigor.
However, her cell phone rang seconds later and she forced herself to separate from Jon. It was Missandei wanting to know where they were.
“They are looking for us.” she said as she hung up. “We better get back before they come looking for us.”
He nodded and said “I need a minute, Dany.” and then he took a step away from her and took a deep breath.
Dany couldn't help but feel proud for leaving Jon in that state. Once he had calmed down enough, she took him by the hand and gave him one last kiss before leading him out of the garden.
The two walked hand in hand, with silly smiles and exchanging passionate looks. Their friends smiled when they saw them together, and that night, as they attended the festival's evening events, Missandei approached her and commented in a whisper, “There's something different about you two.”
Dany smiled and nodded. “We’re really together now.”
Her friend hugged her and said “I’m so happy for you both!”
The presenter on stage introduced the next act and the crowd applauded. Dany smiled as Jon wrapped his arms around her and she felt her skin tingle when he kissed her neck.
“I didn’t know you were so sensitive.” he whispered.
“There are many things you still don’t know about me.”
"I know. And I look forward to discovering every detail of you.”
“We’re in a public place, you know?” she said as he kissed her neck once again.
“Do you want me to stop?” he asked in a whisper and there was amusement in his voice.
“No, I don’t want you to stop.” she replied pressing her butt against him and he moaned in her ear.
“Then you better try not to draw attention to us,” he whispered “because I want to enjoy every second of my time with you.”
She tried to focus her attention on the performance on the stage before them, but her mind was completely focused on Jon, how her skin flared up every place her body touched his, how her skin tingle when he kissed her neck, and in everything she would do to him when they were finally alone.
---
Jon gave her a chaste kiss goodbye when they returned to the hotel, but Dany wasn't ready to end the night just yet. They had been teasing each other all night and, feeling her body on fire, she knew neither of them would be able to sleep easily.
She stood on tiptoe and asked in a whisper so only he could hear her, “Meet me in my room in half an hour?” he looked at her in surprise and she added “I want to finish what we started in that garden.”
He gave her a hungry look and nodded. The two separated in the elevator, as Dany's room was two floors above his.
That half hour was the longest in Dany's entire life. She showered, combed her hair and looked at how much time had passed more times than she realized. She spent a few minutes trying to decide what to wear until she realized that whatever she wore wouldn't stay on her body much longer, so she ended up just wearing her bathrobe and checking the time on her phone once again.
After eight minutes that felt like eight hours, three light knocks on the door alerted her that Jon had arrived. She went to the door, took a deep breath and opened it. He gave her a wide smile when he saw her and she let him inside. As soon as she closed the door, Jon pressed her against it and kissed her. Her hands wrapped around his neck and she pulled him closer to her, intensifying the kiss.
“Dany.” he said almost breathlessly against her lips. “Are you sure you want to do this?”
“I think I've made my intentions clear, but yes, I’m.” she replied also breathlessly and looked him in the eyes “And you?”
“I can’t think of anything I want more than to be with you.” he replied.
“Glad we’re on the same page.” she said with a smile.
Jon picked her up in his arms and carried her to the bed. When he placed her on the floor next to the bed, she helped him undress and couldn't help but admire every bit of his skin. Jon tugged at the sash tie keeping her robe closed and she let it fall behind her. Jon's eyes roamed her naked body for a few seconds and then he looked at her with hungry eyes that made her body flare up, her walls contract and more moisture pool between her legs.
“You are even more beautiful than I imagined, Dany.” he commented and she couldn't help but smile “I love your smile so much.” he said before kissing her until she lost her breath once again.
He took her to the bed and helped her lie down. He looked at her lying there and a shiver ran through her body as he said in a voice hoarse with desire “You have no idea how much I want you.”
Oh, but she could see between his legs how much he wanted her and she reached out her hand, inviting him to join her. He didn't hesitate to accept her invitation and kissed her as if she would disappear if he wasn't touching her.
His lips left hers to wander down her neck, down her collarbone until he reached her breasts, where he focused his attention, making fire build up more and more in her abdomen, and only after making both nipples hard did he begin to move down her belly, leaving a trail of fire with his lips. Once settled between her legs, Jon pressed his thumb over her clit and made delicate circular movements while watching her reaction closely. She moaned his name as his lips joined his fingers.
“Dany, you look amazing like this.”
“Please don’t stop.” she begged.
“I have no intention of stopping. I want to feel you cum on my tongue, sweetheart.” he said and his lips returned to her cunt.
Her hands found his hair and Dany moaned and closed her eyes, intoxicated by the sensations caused by his touch. With each movement of his fingers, with each lick of his tongue, her pleasure increased and increased until she reached her climax. Jon continued to lick her as her walls contracted around his long fingers and she was swept away by wave after wave of pleasure.
As she caught her breath, Dany couldn't help but comment, “I think now I understand why Ygritte doesn't want to give up on you, Jon Snow.”
“She has no other option. My heart belongs to someone else now.” he said while kissing her belly. He gave her a mischievous smile and commented, “I may not be as experienced as some other men claim to be, but I strive to make the experience good for both of us.”
She laughed upon hearing his reference to Daario's comment and said “I wouldn't trade one boy like you for a thousand men like him.”
Jon gave her a smug smile and kissed her neck and lips before reaching for the condom on the bedside table.
“Let me help you with that.” she asked and Jon handed it to her.
Jon lay down and Dany straddled his thighs before focusing on the task in front of her . Carefully, she stroked his cock a few times from base to tip, making Jon moan. She laughed softly and he watched her as she slid the condom over his member. Dany couldn't help but think about how she wanted to feel it in her mouth before the night was over, but right now she wanted to feel him inside her.
She positioned herself so that she could run his cock across her wet folds and they both moaned at the contact. She placed the tip at her entrance and looked him in the eyes as she lowered her body and it slid into her.
They both lay still for a few seconds while she adjusted. She placed her hand on his cheek and brushed his hair away from his face.
“I think we were made for each other, Dany.” he whispered with a sweet smile and looking into her eyes.
She smiled and nodded “Yes, we are perfect together.”
Dany began to move her hips slowly. His hands rested on her hips and hers rested on his chest as she rode him.
Together they found a rhythm and one of his hands went up her abdomen and started playing with her breasts and the other found her clitoris and started massaging it. It didn't take long for the wave of pleasure to hit her and Jon took control and in the next second, he reversed their positions.
Her hands wrapped around his neck and Jon continued to plunge into her as her walls contracted and massaged his cock. It didn't take long for him to cum as he moaned her name.
After getting rid of the condom, he joined her on the bed. He hugged her, placed soft kisses on her hair and face as they caught their breaths and she heard his heart return to its normal rhythm.
She looked him in the eye and asked “Can you stay the night?”
He smiled and nodded “There’s no other place I’d rather be.”
---
The next morning, the two were woken up by Jon's cell phone.
They had only fallen asleep when exhaustion had taken over, as they had spent a good part of the night exploring each other's bodies and testing the resistance and stability of some furniture without caring whether or not they would get sleepy during the activities planned for the following day.
“Arya? Did something happen?” he asked in a hoarse voice. “Oh, I'm not in my room.” he said and after a few seconds added “See you at breakfast.”
He hung up and looked at her before saying “Arya went looking for me in my room and, as I didn't answer the door, she got worried and called me. I think she suspects where I am and who I am with.”
“Did she know we were just pretending before?”
“Yes, but I haven't had the chance to tell her that we're really together now.”
Dany smiled “Well, at some point she and the others were going to find out.”
They had a long day ahead of them and before they started something they didn't have time to finish, Jon left her to go change and Dany, as soon as she finished getting ready, went down to his floor to meet him. As soon as the elevator doors opened, she came face to face with Daario kissing a woman in the hallway. Dany had completely forgotten that the reservation she had made for her brother was on that floor.
Before she could get out of the elevator, Jon's room door opened and he walked out and that was what made Daario and the girl separate. Daario and Jon looked at each other and, of course, recognized each other. Jon gave him a satisfied smile before starting to walk to the elevator that Dany was preventing from leaving without him. It was only then that Daario realized she was there.
He took a step away from the girl, who looked at him with confusion, and Dany said “I'm glad you accepted our breakup and decided to move on, Daario.”
“Princess, it’s not what you think. She doesn't mean anything!” he said and the girl looked at him indignantly.
“Please don’t interrupt your plans, Daario.” she asked “I just came to pick up my boyfriend.”
Jon took her in his arms and kissed her as soon as he got into the elevator and said “Good morning again , sweetheart .”
She smiled and all of Dany's attention turned to the man in her arms. When the elevator door closed she had completely forgotten what she had just seen in the hallway .
---
The last day of the festival had been set aside to visit some wineries in the region and when she showed up for breakfast hand in hand with Jon, their friends were already having breakfast and wondering why they were both so late .
The winery tour was better than she had expected and she thought that was due to the fact that Jon was by her side and that they took advantage of any opportunity to exchange kisses and caresses. Although she didn't want the day to end soon, they had to go back to the hotel to prepare for the last night of the festival.
After finishing dressing, Daenerys looked in the mirror for a few seconds. When she had bought that dress weeks ago, she had just wanted to feel better about herself and hadn't imagined that she would wear it to impress her fake boyfriend turned new boyfriend. The violet tone of the dress was the same as her eyes and highlighted them. She tied her hair into a simple braid, but added some flowers she had picked on the way to the hotel.
She was nervous when she got out of the elevator minutes later and saw Jon before he saw her. He was dressed in black from head to toe and when he turned to her, Dany was breathless at his beauty.
“You look stunning, Dany.” Jon said and kissed her.
She smiled and said “You too.”
“Thank you.” he said and looked at himself before commenting “People say black is my color.”
And indeed it was. The color highlighted the paleness of his skin, the dark gray of his eyes, the dark brown of his hair and the pink of his lips.
After joining their friends, they set off, and along the way, Dany discovered that only she and Jon had yet to make their wishes at the fountain in the labyrinth.
There was a labyrinth behind the castle and people believed it symbolized the path to the gods. Local legend said that if you managed to reach the center of the labyrinth when the full moon was shining in the sky, the harvest gods would grant you your wish until the next harvest.
She explained the tradition to him and, once they arrived at the festival, Dany took Jon there. As it was the last night of the festival, most tourists had already visited the labyrinth, and when she and Jon entered it, there were few people. The two looked for the center together and, when they found it, the full moon was reflected in the dark waters of the fountain.
Dany had already made her wish during her first visit to that labyrinth last year, and instead of making another one, she closed her eyes and thanked the gods that her wish had been granted. Jon watched her with a tender smile when she opened her eyes.
“Aren’t you going to make a wish?”
He shook his head. “No, I already have everything I want.” he replied and gave her a smile before adding “I hope yours comes true.”
“It has already come true. And they gave me much more than I asked for.” she said and gave him a tender smile. Dany placed a hand on his face and caressed his cheek before adding “I made my wish last year and it came true the night I met you.”
Last year Dany had wished to find someone who loved her for who she was. Someone who was her friend and made her smile. Someone who didn't make her feel alone. Someone who made her feel complete. Someone whose presence was reason enough to make her day, her life, seem lighter.
That wish had come true in Jon Snow. And the gods gave her much more than she asked for. She had found in him a friend, a confidant and a protector. She had found in him a partner and a lover. She found in him everything she wanted and what she didn't even know she needed . Next to Jon Snow she felt like she had found her home.
She had asked the gods for one love and they gave her the love.
He kissed her palm before saying “On second thought, I have a wish to make. But not to the gods, to you.”
She gave him a quizzical look. “What is it?”
Jon held her hand and looked into her eyes before asking “I wish you to be my girlfriend, Daenerys Targaryen. Will you make my wish come true?”
In response, she stood on tiptoe and kissed him.
“Is that a yes?” he asked against her lips.
“Yes.”
His eyes shone like the moon above them and when he took her in his arms and kissed her passionately, Dany couldn't help but think how happy the gods must be watching that scene, seeing the love that they had helped to sow blossom.

Chapter 5 - I can't fool my heart
The movie theater was almost empty when Daenerys Targaryen and Quentyn Martell entered.
“Do you want something to eat or drink?” he asked, looking uncomfortable being alone with her.
“Just water, thank you.” she replied with a polite smile.
He nodded and said “I’ll be right back.”
She found their seats and sat down. Once again she wondered what she was doing. She wasn't interested in Quentyn, and no matter how hard she tried, everything about him felt wrong. She looked at his brown eyes wishing they were gray. She looked at his stocky body wishing he was slender. She made sarcastic comments and told him funny things hoping he would understand, that he would at least give her a smile, but he seemed reluctant and unsure.
However, despite all of this, despite him appearing to be quite cautious and insecure, she couldn't say that he wasn't trying hard to make their date pleasant. Quentyn had taken her to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants and tried to keep the conversation interesting.
The problem wasn't him.
The problem was her.
No matter how much she tried to be interested in him, Quentyn not only had an uninteresting personality but he wasn't the one her heart wanted to be by her side. Quentyn was trying, but he wasn't the kind of man who could make her heart beat faster.
The truth was that not only was the company boring, the movie he had chosen wasn't interesting and she was desperate for their date to be over soon and she could go home. And if he hadn't already bought the movie tickets, she would have asked him to take her home.
Resigned, she looked at the time on her cell phone. There were still about fifteen minutes left before the screening began and Daenerys couldn't help but think that the last time she had been in a movie theater was with Jon and that, days later, things between them had ended. He had never been hers, but losing him had broken her heart.
As if conjured by her thoughts, Jon Snow sat in the seat next to hers and handed her a huge bar of chocolate and her heart raced as if she were running a marathon.
“Do you remember what happened the last time we watched a movie at the cinema?” he asked.
Yes, she remembered. It had been in a movie theater not unlike the one they were in now. Jon had spent the entire movie whispering everything he wanted to do to her when they were alone and, as the session was almost empty, he had no shame and brought her to the brink of orgasm several times with his long, deft fingers. She had had to swallow her moans of pleasure and frustration, and when the movie was over, she didn't remember much about the story. Jon ate her out as soon as they entered his apartment and they stayed up most of the night, getting as many orgasms out of each other as possible. That was the last night they spent together before everything ended.
She ignored the memories and their effect on her body and focused on the man sitting next to her.
“What are you doing here?” she asked in a harsher tone than she intended. A small part of her was happy that he was there, but the bigger part blamed him for her being on that date.
“Whoever your date is, I know he doesn't know what your favorite brand of chocolate is.” he replied naturally and offered her the candy once again. She ignored it and continued looking at him until he added “Missandei told me about your date and the thought of you sitting in a dark room with another man besides me was unbearable.”
She stared at him for a few seconds as she digested his words. “You've made it clear that we're just friends, Jon. I'm only on this date because you want different things than what I want.” she clarified.
The two of them had been introduced by mutual friends about a year ago during the festival of the Seven in King's Landing. After a turbulent start, they realized they had a lot in common and became friends. Weeks later, when they were both single and unhappy during Valentine's Day, they had agreed to become friends with benefits. But instead of looking for potential partners in the following months, they ended up practically becoming a couple, but without the couple label.
As they were not officially a couple, their breakup had not been through a fight as was normal between couples. Daenerys had fallen in love with him within the first few weeks and, after months of being friends with benefits, she figured he felt the same way she did and one night after dinner with their friends, she had proposed that they have something serious, that they take their relationship to another level. Jon had been quite surprised by her suggestion and had said that he wasn't ready for a serious relationship and that if they couldn't continue to be friends with benefits, then he would rather they remained just friends.
Not wanting to lose him completely, she had agreed. However, the awkward silence that accompanied them for the rest of the night was enough to open a gigantic chasm between them. When he had dropped her off at home, they had said goodbye as always, but there was a hesitation in their gestures that had never been there. After that, they had stopped seeing each other and didn't call or text each other. She had understood it as a breakup and, when Quentyn Martell asked her for the third time on a date, she thought it was time to move on with her life and leave Jon Snow and everything she felt for him behind.
“I know and I admit that I may have been a little hasty when I came to that conclusion.” he justified “I was very cowardly when I walked away from you. And I'm sorry for all the suffering I caused you.”
“So you thought it would be a statement of courage to come here and ruin my date?”
He stared at her and opened and closed his mouth several times as if he were a fish out of water.
“So?” she insisted.
“I didn't want to ruin your date." he said finally "I just…"
“You just…” she encouraged him.
“You have every right to be mad at me for coming here, but I just wanted you to know that I was wrong. I needed you to know that I don't think we can be just friends after everything that happened between us. The truth is, I also wanted us to be something other than friends with benefits, I just didn't know what.”
His words surprised her and she asked “And now you know?”
“Yes. I want to be with you in whatever way you want.” he replied sincerely “These weeks that we spent apart were the worst weeks of my life. I spent the last few days trying to deceive myself, denying what I felt from the first moment I saw you, but I realized that I was letting my fear and my insecurities get in the way of my happiness. I realized that I can't fool my heart. I love you, Daenerys Targaryen and I want to be with you. I'm yours to do whatever you want with me and I needed to tell you that. I needed you to know how I really feel before you moved on with someone else.”
His words hit her heart full and shook her entire being. She didn't want to move on with someone else. She wanted to move on with him!
She nodded slowly, “I understand, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm on a date. On a date with another man.”
He looked her in the eyes. “I know, and like I said, that knowledge is unbearable.” he said in a fervent tone. “The idea that another man was receiving your attention and your smiles was eating me up inside.”
“It was you who decided to come here.”
“I know!” he said in a frustrated tone “But I had to come here and tell you how I feel.”
She held up her cell phone and said, “You could have texted me and saved us both the embarrassment.”
“Oh, that's true. But I... well, that didn't cross my mind and what I had to tell you couldn't be said via text message, Dany. I needed to look you in the eye.”
“Well, now that you’ve told me what you think about my date and how you feel about me, you can leave.” she said in a feigned indifferent tone.
He got up, but sat down again when he saw that she hadn't gotten up too.
“Are you staying here?” he asked, confused.
“And why wouldn’t I stay?” she replied.
“Maybe because you love me too?” he replied in a confused tone “And now that I’ve stopped being a stubborn idiot we can be together?”
“Those are good arguments, but I want to see this movie and I'm in the company of someone pleasant and fun. I see no reason to leave.”
Yes, he loved her and she reciprocated his feelings passionately, but she couldn't just walk away with him and leave Quentyn alone. And she couldn't deny that she was enjoying watching him suffer through jealousy.
“Then I’m staying too.” he said in a determined tone and stubbornly stared at the screen before them.
“All right. You have already paid for the ticket and are already seated.” she said with a mischievous smile “But I doubt you can stand to watch the whole movie since it’s the kind you hate.”
He turned to her and studied her for a few seconds before asking “Do you really want me to leave?”
“Do you want to stay, even though you know what can happen between two people during a date?”
His face filled with alarm and he asked in an urgent tone, “Dany, you're not thinking about kissing him, are you? After everything I said, after I opened my heart to you?”
She shrugged, feeling a lot of satisfaction with his reaction. “He has very kissable lips.”
Another lie.
“You wouldn’t.”
“I'm a single woman, Jon. I can kiss my date if I want.” she said and then decided to add in an insinuating tone “I can do a lot more than kiss him if I want, even if one of my friends just declared his love for me.”
He studied her with narrowed eyes and then held her hand. “Daenerys Targaryen, will you be my girlfriend?”
“Girlfriend? Are you sure this is what you want, Jon? I remember you saying you didn't want any kind of commitment and, in case you don't remember, that was the reason you walked away from me. I don’t want you to make a commitment to me and then regret it.”
“That Jon knew nothing. He was afraid he wouldn’t be enough for a girl as amazing as you.” he argued and gave her hand a squeeze before continuing “But this Jon in front of you wants nothing more than to have you in his life. Forever, preferably.”
That was what she wanted most, to be with him forever. Dany was silent for a few seconds before asking, “Ask me again.”
He smiled and nodded “Daenerys Targaryen, will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes.”
He gave her a delighted and triumphant smile before kissing her and she responded to the kiss enthusiastically without caring if her date would come back and see her kissing another man on what was their date. As always, her body flared upon contact with his and she wished they were somewhere less public.
“Now you can’t kiss anyone other than me.” he said as their lips parted “Now you are my Dany. Mine and mine alone.”
Dany gave him a stern look, but inside she was very happy, because if she was his Dany, he was her Jon. Just hers and no one else's.
“Don’t make me regret saying yes, Jon Snow.”
He gave her a mischievous smile. “If you leave with me, I promise I will make up for all the lost time.” he said and kissed her hand and Quentin chose that moment to return.
“Daenerys, who is this?”
She gave him an innocent smile before replying “He’s just a friend I haven’t seen in a long time.”
“Just a friend?” asked Jon in an offended tone.
“A friend who was already leaving.” she reinforced.
Jon nodded and leaned in close to her to whisper, “Call me when your date is over. I think we still have some things to talk about.” and she rolled her eyes.
He placed a respectful kiss on her forehead and walked away, ignoring the grumpy looks from her date.
Quentyn sat down next to her and gave her her water. He didn't ask her anything else about Jon, but he tried to talk to her about other things and she did her best to seem interested. As the trailers passed, Dany took out her cell phone and sent a message to Missandei.
D: You won't believe what happened. Jon just showed up on my date.
Her friend's response didn't take long.
M: Really? And what happened? D: In short, he said he was wrong, that he loved me and asked me to be his girlfriend. M: And what did you say? D: I said yes. M: And why are you here talking to me when you could be in his arms making up for lost time? D: So, I'm still kind of on my date with Quentyn. M: What? Why? D: I couldn't just leave Quentyn alone! He spent months asking me out and I didn't accept because of Jon. And he's trying hard to make the date pleasant. M: You and your obsession with doing the right thing. Wait one moment. Is Jon still there? D: No, he left. I'll call him tomorrow and we'll talk more. M: I'm so happy for you two! D: Me too. I can't stop smiling and I can't wait to see him again. Oh, and thanks for telling him about my date. He came to talk to me when he found out. M: I met him and Arya and he asked me about how you were and I didn't want to lie. D: You have no idea how happy I am. M: Yes, I do.
She smiled when she read her friend's response. Of course Missie knew how happy her and Jon's reconciliation had made her.
D: The movie is about to start. We talk later.
Dany tried to focus her attention on the movie, but her thoughts were on the past, on the months when she and Jon had been friends with benefits. She would love it if it was Jon who was there, sitting next to her, that she could hold his hand or be wrapped in his arm, that she could hear him whisper his dirty ideas when they got out of there. She wished she hadn't been so stubborn, made some excuse for Quentyn, and left with Jon.
When the movie's credits finally rolled, she couldn't say anything about what had played on the screen in front of them. Quentyn, however, was quite happy with what he had seen and didn't even notice that she just agreed with his opinion as they left.
Jon, her boyfriend, was waiting for her when Quentyn dropped her off at home.
Her eyes met his as she walked towards him and she felt her skin tingle. No one had ever been able to have that kind of effect on her like Jon could.
“What are you doing here?” she asked as she unlocked the door.
“You didn't tell me if you would call me. And, as we still have a lot to talk about, I decided to come here and wait for you.” he replied, walking in behind her with the same naturalness as before, as if those weeks of separation had never happened, and asked “How was your date?”
She turned to face him “Endless!” she replied “The most exciting part was when my ex showed up in the middle of my date and begged me to come back to him.” she added with an innocent smile.
“He must love you very much if he had the courage to do that.” he commented.
“That's what he says, but I want him to prove to me how much he loves me with actions and not words.”
“I’m sure he had a lot of ideas while he was waiting for you to come home.” he commented.
“Really?” she asked and he nodded “I’m very curious.”
Jon walked towards her closing the distance between them and said “I missed you every waking minute and you were with me in all my dreams.” he held your hand “I love you, Dany and I'm sorry for all the time I made us waste, I should never have let my insecurities and my fear speak louder than my feelings.” he kissed her hand “As I waited for you, I couldn't help but fear that you would change your mind, that you would choose him or anyone else over me.” he confessed “I couldn’t help but wonder what would become of me if I lost you again.” She placed her other hand on his cheek and he turned his head to place a kiss on her palm “You own my heart, Dany. And I can no longer deny that I need you in my life, I need your touch, your kisses like I need air to breathe.”
Dany felt tears wetting her cheeks. He looked into her eyes and gently wiped her tears away.
“Jon, you own my heart, too.” she confessed and he gave her a smile as bright as the sun. “I was so afraid that you would forget me.”
“Dany. My Dany, I couldn’t forget you even if the world were turned into ashes.” he rested his forehead on hers before whispering “You have no idea how much I missed you. Life feels empty when I’m not around you.”
That was exactly how she had felt those weeks without him.
He kissed her cheeks and looked into her eyes before commenting, “I heard your ex is very skilled with his tongue.” Dany rolled her eyes, but felt her cheeks heating up and he smiled. “From the blush on your cheeks, I think that’s true.”
“I have some vague memories of his abilities.”
“Vague?” he asked and she nodded “I still remember everything, every detail of you. My tongue still remembers the way you taste. The taste of your skin, the taste of your cunt. My body still remembers the warmth and softness of your skin, the way your body moves against mine.” he said, kissing the column of her neck and she let out a moan, feeling the moisture between her legs increase. He looked her in the eyes before continuing, “I would love to help you create new, vivid memories.”
She also remembered every detail about him and would love to create new memories with him.
“Don’t you think you talk too much?”
“Why don’t you shut me up with a kiss?” provoked him and that's exactly what she did.
Being able to kiss Jon again after those weeks of separation was like breathing again after a long period underwater. She kissed him as if it would be the last time, she kissed him fiercely, like a hungry person before a banquet. Jon responded to the kiss with the same ferocity and pressed her against the wall. Before she even knew it, she had her legs wrapped around his waist, her arms wrapped around his neck and one of his hands on her ass supporting her.
“I dreamed of your legs wrapped around my waist.” he whispered against her skin. “I dreamed of having your skin against mine.”
Dany had also dreamed of this moment for the past few weeks, but she hadn't dared hope that it would happen. She could feel his member against her body and felt her vagina contract. The hand on her waist slid down her dress and his fingers lightly touched the wet fabric of her panties, making her moan.
Jon gave her a mischievous smile before asking “Did I made you this wet with only a kiss?” He kissed her neck again and lightly ran his fingers over her panties before saying against her skin “I bet you spent your entire date thinking about me, didn't you?” he applied a little more pressure and she moaned once again “It must have been torture to spend so long so wet and without me to help you."
She knew she didn't need to tell him that she had been on fire from the moment he kissed her in the movies, because the wetness between her legs made it obvious. He looked into her eyes as he pulled aside her panties, partially exposing her cunt and nibbled on her neck at the same time as he inserted one of his fingers into her. He chuckled softly when she asked for more, but he gave her what she needed.
Their lips met and she moaned against his lips, “Enough playing around. I need you now, Jon.”
“Whatever you want, Dany.”
Without breaking the kiss, he walked the path between the living room and her bedroom with her still in his arms. They had months of practice doing that route with their eyes closed. Jon gently placed her on the floor and helped her undress. Her skin flared up everywhere he touched.
Jon looked at her from head to toe when he finished undressing her and she could feel the weight of his intense gaze on her skin as if it were physical contact. And when his eyes fell on her bare breasts and she saw him lick his lips, a shiver of anticipation ran through her body. Jon was also a beautiful sight to behold and she didn't hesitate to admire the wonder before her. A slight tremor ran through her body when his eyes met hers for a few seconds and, unable to contain herself, she asked “Do you like what you see?”
“You have no idea how much. You are so perfect and I am so lucky to be able to adore you.” he replied and she smiled “The only thing more incredible than your smile is when you smile at me.”
“Just kiss me, Jon.” she whispered and he obeyed. Jon picked her up in his arms, carried her to the bed and placed her on top of it carefully.
She watched him as he kissed his way down, the touch of his breath making her skin tingle. He kissed her belly before saying against her skin “We are meant for each other, Dany. You are mine and I am yours.”
“Say that again.” she asked with a groan.
Jon placed a few more kisses on her skin before obeying her. “You are mine and I am yours.”
He kissed the inside of her thigh, so close to her folds that she could feel the heat of his skin. “This, right here, is where I belong.” he said.
Without hesitation, he licked her and her hands held his hair tightly and he moaned against her cunt. Jon knew her body and knew how to read her, he knew when she needed more foreplay and when she didn't and he didn't have to try too hard to bring about her first orgasm. As she was carried away by the waves of her orgasm, he kissed his way up until he reached her mouth, interspersing each kiss with Dany and my Dany.
She ran her hand through his hair and whispered “I like it when you say my name like that.”
He smiled and kissed her and, with her other hand, she grabbed his member and he groaned as she passed it through her wet folds. Jon kissed her passionately and she positioned it at her entrance. They looked into each other's eyes as he slowly slid into her until they both became one.
“I love you, Dany. My Dany.”
“I love you too, Jon. My Jon.”
With the familiarity of lovers who knew each other, they quickly found a rhythm and with every movement of their hips, every kiss, every caress, their pleasure built and built and built until Dany reached orgasm and Jon followed seconds later, both whispering each other's name as they were carried away by the waves of pleasure.
After a shower that should have been quick, but took a long time because they ended up having sex again in the shower, Jon lay down next to her, held her in his arms and placed a soft kiss on her hair before whispering “You should sleep, my love.”
“You too.” she said in a sleepy tone.
He held her tighter against him “I know, but I'm afraid of going to sleep and when I wake up I'll realize this was all just a dream.”
She smiled and snuggled against his body before saying, “I promise I'll be right here where I am when you wake up.”
He kissed her hair and Dany was almost falling asleep when she heard him whisper “Just tomorrow isn’t enough, but it’s a good start.”

Jon & Dany edit in my mood board by @axdragons
Unfortunately, my muse was not musing in time to get the first chapter our for the event, but I wanted to share a mood board and a sneak peek!
The sequel to my summer fic, The Summer Before
Summary: After years of being each other’s summer fling, Jon and Daenerys are finally in the same place and ready to begin their committed relationship as real adults; they’ve made it to college.
Vignettes of fall semesters and first experiences as Jon and Dany grow as musicians and in their relationship conquering everything from sorority rush to picking a career path to community bathrooms.
Sneak Peak under the cut!
“Jon, I need to go back to my place. Shower, get ready for class, try not to look like I just rolled out of my boyfriend’s bed.”
He nuzzled his face into her neck. “I like you looking like you rolled out of your boyfriend’s bed. Just shower here. You don’t even wash your hair every time.” His voice was muffled against her collarbone, goose bumps rising up to her ear from the vibrations.
“I can’t do that! You have a shared bathroom!” There was no way trying to sneak into the shower in a communal boy’s bathroom was going to happen. “Other… boys could be in there,” she all but whispered.
He chuckled into her neck, rolling his head back to look up at her while his hand trailed down to rub against her hip. “My sweet city girl never had to rough it in the community bathrooms.”
She frowned. Community restrooms were nasty. She had painstakingly chosen a dorm room for her and Missy where they would only have to share the bathroom between the two of them. And her mom had paid for a cleaner to come every two weeks to make sure it stayed pristine. “Are they even clean?” She crinkled her nose.
“I think so.” His brows knit together.  “Cleaners go through pretty regularly.” His hand rubbed her hip a little rougher. “I could go with you. Keep you safe from any germs or prying eyes.” His breath was warm when he dipped back to her neck, licking at the small divot between her jaw and her ear. “Make sure you don’t miss a spot while you wash up.”
She rutted against his leg which had slipped between hers. She could feel herself pulsing at the idea. They’d never had shower sex before. They’d be wet and slippery and close because she was pretty sure it was a stall. Rough thumbs brushed the skin hiding underneath her t-shirt till they found her nipples, circling them gently. This was why she never made it back to her dorm in the first place last night.
“I guess if you were there to keep me safe from all the germs,” she whispered, grinding down against his leg again. She turned checking her phone for the time. “But we have to go now before anyone else on your floor is up.”

Jonerys Sultry Summer 2023 ~ Day 1: Caught in a Storm ~ ⛈️ ⚡️ 💨 🌊
Moodboard courtesy of @youwerenevermine ! Enjoy everyone!
He glanced sideways at the storm, shrugging. “Hopefully they’ll fix the power soon.” What was he talking about? The power!?
Dany chuckled, her voice soft. “Oh I kind of like it off. Mysterious.”
They met each other’s gaze again. He bit his bottom lip and broke away quickly. This was more than he’d said to her total in weeks. He felt…dumb. Unsure. Gods Jon, get it together. She was just a woman.
A beautiful woman.
He tried to look back at her paintings, but wasn’t focusing on them because she was standing close. “You’re so focused on your work. I’ve tried to say hello a few times. Wasn’t sure if I was disturbing you.”
“Sorry,” he mumbled, scrubbing his face. He flushed a little. “I did want to say hello a few times but…wasn’t sure you wanted visitors.”
“Not most.” Dany tapped her finger on his chest, quiet. “But you? I think I’d make an exception.”
Huh?
He whipped his head to the paintings, wondering what happened next. Did he stand there like a dork? Loudly start talking about the weather? Fuck, he hated doing this sort of thing. He thought of his usual icebreaker, blurting out. “Ghost.”
“Hmm?”
“Ghost, my dog.” He eyed and Ghost, who was laying happily on his side under the table, tail thumping because he knew they were talking about him. “I’m still sorry he ran in here…barging in like that.”
She waved her hand, dismissing the apology. “Poor baby was hot.” She made a face, plucking the front of her tank top. “Damn, you’d think a storm would cool it off a bit. It’s still so hot.”
And then she reached down to the bottom of her tank, crossed her arms and peeled it up and over her head, leaving her in a skimpy red lace bra that left very little to the imagination.
As a writer, Jon had a big imagination.
So this was…unexpected.
