love thy neighbor: about 24 year old uni student pah doyeon and her 40 year old housewife neighbor jin joo. jin joo's husband left her alone as he works to pay off his debts, and it has Not been a fun few months for her, as the loan sharks after him have been terrorizing her daily. luckily, pah doyeon is there to lend a hand and shelter!

probably my biggest recommendation as of right now, so long as you don't mind the very much not healthy nature of the whole situation. this baby's got everything in it: blasphemy, cheating, milf-hunting, obsession, self-discovery through lust, and so on. pah doyeon is great. there's a lot wrong with her. she said this shit unprompted in the latest chapter

a love yet to bloom: a sweet story about takamine, who has yet to find anything in life she enjoys, and sakura, a book-loving girl she happens to meet on the train after school. it's very cute and has a nice, chill atmosphere. i always look forward to the next update

otome no teikoku: ok so. heres the thing. if you decide to pick this up the first, idk, dozen chapters will be Bad. there's a lot of male-gazey uncomfortable stuff at the beginning, and while it doesnt take too long for it to stop feeling so offputting and start being surprisingly wholesome and earnest instead, it never stops being horny, so read it if youre in the mood for that.

as for what it's actually about... well there's this all girls school, right? and it has girls in it. and they are all gay and dating each other. its basically just a collection of short chapters about different couples within this school, and it has some of my favorite dynamics and moments in yuri. i reread it very often (and there's almost 300 chapters of this thing out, so that's a feat) and it never stops being enjoyable. stan nononon/yumimi

a monster wants to eat me: about hinako, who lost her whole family to the sea in a tragic accident and now yearns to join them in the afterlife, and shiori, a mermaid claiming she's here to eat her. the problem is, hinako being actively suicidal and depressed means her flesh won't exactly be very tasty, and shiori is a bit of a gourmet, meaning her goal is to first help her recover and regain her joie de vivre, and only then will she eat her. i highly recommend this

out of the blue!: transfer honor student x delinquent yuri. it's very short so i dont wanna yap about it too much, but it's a big big personal fave. it's only 4 chapters so check it out

sougou tovarisch: honestly anything by arata iri never fails to get at least one laugh out of me, but this one especially. if you know a kiss and a white lily by canno (and if you don't, go check it out), the premise to this one is a bit similar to the dynamic between ayaka and yurine, with hardworking MC obsessed with being number one and chill love interest who beats her without even meaning to.

the focus here is less on romance and more on comedy, and i love it. kanna is amazing. she wins a chess match by punching her opponent so hard she passes out. its only 13 chapters + assorted extras, very fun easy read

now some stuff that doesnt really have yuri as focus but ive really enjoyed regardless and want to shout out and this is my blog so whatever

liar satsuki can see death: satsuki can see dead people. specifically, she can see the future corpses of people up to 24 hours before they actually die. she always zealously warns the future victims of the imminent danger, and she has been branded a weirdo and a liar for it as no one has ever actually died before. in truth, she is actually literally incapable of lying, and the only reason everyone survived so far is that she will go to frankly insane lengths to save them. she's a great protagonist and her autistic swag has captivated me and many others

mieruko-chan: miko can see... Things. that no one else can. but she has to pretend she cant, especially to the Things themselves. she doesnt know exactly what will happen if they realize she can see them, but she's certainly not about to find out.

this started as a twitter short that quickly gained popularity, so the premise of many early chapters is basically "miko sees something terrifying and has to ignore it, hilarity ensues", but the initially one-off characters introduced over time are eventually explored and given quite a lot of spotlight and im having a lot of fun with it. stan michiru

ok somehow that's the third (!) post on my dash specifically trying to convince dutch people to wear helmets on bikes, so i guess as a dutch person im gonna say a bit-

obviously helmets improve safety on bikes. everyone knows this, there are probably a few dutch people who will disagree because idiots are everywhere but it's not a difficult thing to grasp that putting a protective layer around your skull makes your head less likely to break if you hit the pavement

where the contention comes from is cultural. dutch people arent convinced that biking without a helmet is safer than biking with one, we're convinced that cycling without a helmet has a similar risk to jogging or running without a helmet.

which isn't completely mental if you look at the average speeds of a casual cyclists - additionally, most dutch people WILL wear a helmet if they're cycling for sport - 18 km/h, and an experienced runner, 14 km/h. There's a difference, but safety wise, the way they are seen here is very similar. and that's probably wrong when it comes to helmets, especially since, with E-bikes on the rise, the average speed is going up, and accordingly, so are accidents

(Specifically, accidents are increasing amongst age >50 people with ebikes, who don't have the reaction speeds that match their new cycling speed, and amongst teenagers, who like to check their phones while cycling (which is already illegal))

BUT, so, if you're trying to convince a dutch person to wear a helmet, don't compare "wearing a helmet vs not wearing a helmet". People die quicker if they land on their heads. duh. but falling can happen anytime, shouldn't we then just wear helmets everywhere? Instead, try using statistics showing that cycling itself is a higher risk activity than other modes of transportation

Selama belajar menulis cerita, saya merasa mengenal diri saya dengan lebih baik dan menemukan apa yang bener-bener saya suka. Saya punya trauma yang terbawa sejak kecil sehingga sering kesulitan menyampaikan pikiran dan susah mingle dalam bergaul.

Saya sering dibilang slow witted dan tidak peka. Alasan utamanya karena saya sering telat bereaksi ketika ada orang lain punya masalah. Seringnya, saya telat bereaksi bukan karena nggak faham tapi lebih karena saya nggak tau bagaimana harus bersikap. Ketika kita mengisolasi diri dan tidak banyak bergaul, kita memang nggak punya banyak pilihan opsi untuk bersikap selain berbicara dengan awkward atau malah menghindar begitu saja hha. Parah banget :))

Ada satu kebiasaan saya yang entah ini baik atau buruk ~XD Saya suka sekali mengamati wajah orang sampai detail. Dulu saya takut dengan kebiasaan ini. Khawatir nggak ghadul bashar dll dsb. Padahal sebenernya kalo ngamatin wajah orang, saya juga bukan ngebayangin yang aneh-aneh sih hha. Belakangan saya baru nyadar bahwa saya suka “merekam” ekspresi dan mencari suasana hangat di dalam ekspresi tersebut. Yap. Saya peka terhadap ekspresi dan perubahan suasana. Dulu, saya suka ke tempat ramai cuma buat mojok dan ngelihatin ekspresi orang lewat. Ikut senyum kalo orang lain senyum dan ikut sedih kalo mereka sedih.

Tapi tetep kalo ada temen cerita di depan saya, saya masih kebingungan bersikap dan jadinya mematung aja. Nah beberapa tahun ini, saya mulai berani berteman dengan banyak orang. Jadi kadang-kadang, selain mengamati ekspresi mereka, saya juga jadi mengamati pilihan kata, gesture dan banyak hal. Sorry kalo ini aneh. Kadang saya juga nggak berniat kayak gitu. Itu terjadi gitu aja :))

Nah, akhirnyaaaa.....

Saya nemuin tempat yang lebih baik untuk menyalurkan hobi saya mengamati manusia ini. Yaitu dengaaaan menonton K-Drama. Why? Karena kamu nggak bakal dibilang aneh kalau ngelihat film berkali-kali dan ngomong kalo kamu suka banget sama aktornya. Tapi akan aneh kalo kamu ngelihatin manusia real di dunia nyata dan mendadak bilang:

“Aku suka ngelihatin kamu karena kamu ekspresif”

Bisa-bisa saya dikira mesum ~XD

Nah, selama mengamati dunia per-drakor-an, ada beberapa aktor sama aktris yang bagus banget mainnya karena rentang ekpresi mereka luas. Bisa dibilang, mereka punya library ekpresi yang banyak. Wajah mereka ketika marah atau bahagia tuh nggak cuma satu. 

Aktor dan aktris yang selalu saya ikuti dramanya karena rentang ekspresinya banyak tuh Nam Joo Hyuk, Jo Jung Suk, Park Bo Young, IU dan sekarang nambah lagi Kim Seon Ho. Ekspresi manusia sebenernya lebih ngebawa saya ke imajinasi tentang suasana sih. Suasana seperti apa? Hangat, sedih, bahagia, marah, jijik, bersyukur dan banyak lagi.

Belakangan saya baru nyadar kalau hal kayak gini ngebantu kita banget kalau misal kita pengen belajar menulis. Kita jadi bisa punya imajinasi. Kalau misal karakter A punya masalah seperti ini, wajahnya akan seperti apa? Dia akan bereaksi seperti apa dan seterusnya dan seterusnya.

Nam Joo Hyuk di Dazzling dan IU di My Mister beneran epic banget. Saya suka banget sama mereka di drama itu. Saya beneran ngerasa kayak terbawa ke dalam cerita dan menangis sendiri hanya dengan melihat wajah mereka.

Tapi, dramanya Nam Joo Hyuk yang jadi favorit saya malah Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. Karena di sana, Nam Joo Hyuk jadi seperti orang kebanyakan. Aktingnya dia beneran mengingatkan saya ke masa kuliah. Ada masanya kita suka sama orang tapi nggak tau cara mulainya dan jadinya ya kaya Jung Joon Hyung godain Kim Bok Joo. Ga jelas banget. Nah, ekspresi Nam Joo Hyuk di situ kelihatan pas banget. Nggak over. Kebanyakan aktor kalo disuruh akting untuk hal-hal daily gini malah susah karena mereka udah biasa akting marah banget, happy banget dll dsb. Hal yang sama juga saya temuin pas lihat Jo Jung Suk jadi Lee Ik Joon di Hospital Playlist. Karakternya real banget, Dia mewakili temen-temen kita yang petakilan, punya banyak hobi, usil sekaligus lovable.

Hal lain yang menurut saya menarik dalam drama adalah ketika ada aktor yang berakting kerasukan. Di Oh My Ghost, Park Bo Young pas kerasukan Kim Seul Gi, gesturenya bisa mirip banget sama Kim Seul Gi. Begitu juga pas Jo Jung Suk kerasukan Kim Seon Ho di Two Cops :))

Saya ngerasa nulis sama nonton film drama tuh healing banget sih buat saya :)

Karena tahun ini saya nonton banyak banget drama, selain mengamati artis dan dialog, saya jadi merekam juga sih tentang bagaimana writernim mengekpresikan pikiran mereka ke dalam karakter. Yang perlu kita ingat, tokoh-tokoh yang kita lihat di film itu imajinasi writernim. Jadi tanpa deskripsi yang detail dan real dari writernim, karakter dalam cerita nggak bakal hidup. Dan tanpa kekayaan ekspresi dari aktor plus pengarahan sutradara yang mumpuni, imajinasi writernim tidak akan terwujud.

Dulu saya membayangkan bahwa bercerita adalah menuangkan segala hal di pikiran. Lambat laun saya sadar bahwa membuat cerita itu seperti memotret dunia yang kita kembangkan di pikiran. Jadi sebelum bercerita, kita harus mengkonstruksi dunia di kepala kita dulu. Baru setelah itu kita bisa memilih sudut pandang dan memikirkan apakah cerita sebaiknya berjalan dengan cepat atau lambat.

Untuk mengkonstruksi dunia yang mendekati real, seorang penulis harus memahami manusia dan pikirannya, harus punya banyak vocabulary, harus punya banyak imajinasi tentang suasana dan yang lain sebagainya.

Proses kreatif itu tidak instan.

Kita harus banyak bersabar untuk akhirnya bisa mengetahui hal apa saja yang bisa kita eksplor.

Anyway, karena saya cerita kalau saya suka mengamati manusia sampai di level microekspresi, jangan dibayangin bahwa saya bisa menebak seseorang berdasarkan microekspresinya. Manusia tidak sesederhana itu. Jangan menebak isi kepala orang dengan menggunakan perspektif kita sendiri. Itu jatuhnya judging. Hhaha.

Drakor #1

Tahun ini aku menemukan hobi baru, yaitu menonton drakor. Dulu sangat menjauhi drakor karena memang drakor yang ditemui dan direkomendasikan lebih ke sisi romance, tapi sekarang atau tahun ini aku belajar banyak dari drama yang kutonton. Meskipun aku harus curi-curi waktu untuk nonton ini. Tapi tujuan utama nonton drakor adalah untuk belajar alur menulis, yap, aku menjadikan drakor sebagai tempat belajarku, bagaimana membangun plot dan penokohan. Karena aku merasa lebih banyak belajar menulis dari drakor wkwkwk.. aku mau merekomendasikan drama yang menurutku worth it untuk ditonton. Karena aku anaknya ga terlalu suka yang berbau romance yang ketara banget dan lebih banyak nonton yang genre keluarga, jadi semoga rekomendasi ini membantu, wkwkwkkw sok bangeeeet buaat rekomendasi wkwkwk

- Sky Castle 

Menurutku ini drakor yang paling bagus dan tokohnya rata-rata licik semua. Tinggal di perumahan elit yang merupakan dokter di salah satu rumah sakit di Korea. Jadi suami-suami mereka itu dokter dan ada lima keluarga yang diceritakan di drama ini. Cerita di buka dengan pamer setiap keluarga tentang anak-anaknya. Dan ada salah satu anak yang diterima di Kedokteran Universitas Seoul. Tapi, ternyata anak tersebut malah kabur nggak mau kuliah. Karena ternyata dia merasa tertekan atas perintah dan tuntutan ortunya yang meminta dia supaya menjadi yang terbaik. Dan ketika tahu anaknya kabur dengan pacar diam-diamnya, dan ibunya bunuh diri. Alurnya menurutku keren banget dan penokohan yang digambarkan juga buat greget.

Karena tokoh utamanya juga jahat dan licik karena lebih memikirkan prestige dirinya dan keluarga. Mungkin ini yang membuat pesan yang ingin penulis sampaikan ke penonton sampai. Drama ini mengkritik persaingan akademik di Korea yang gila bangeeet. Serta beban seorang istri yang harus bertanggungjawab sama pendidikan dan kebutuhan anaknya. Suami tinggal terima jadi gitu. Jadi nilai dan peringkat tinggi jadi hal yang harus mereka raih, bagaimana pun caranya. Meskipun mereka nggak suka sama pelajarannya atau harus sampai larut malam setiap hari les. Waw!! Gila memang yaaaaaaa mantaaap. Sampai titik konfliknya ada di seseorang yang menjadi tutornya. Meskipun 20 episode tapi keren banget dan nggak salah sempat menduduki rating tertinggi! Karena ini jadi terbuka banget bagaimana persaingan siswa-siswa di Korea dan beban anak-anak yang mengikuti keinginan orang tuanya (tuntutan orang lain, omongan orang lain,) tanpa bisa explore keinginan dan kemampuan diri sendiri. Seneng juga sama aktornya yang keren aktingnya!! ((maafkan aku yang ga pernah hapal nama mereka wkwkwk)) Ini juga termasuk drakor yang selalu penasaran di setiap episodenya.    

- The Light in Your Eyes

Karena drakor ini aku jadi ngeh tentang hari tua atau setiap orang pasti akan menjadi tua dan membawa masa lalunya. Alurnya maju-mundur, tapi menurutku drakor ini rapi dalam alur. Tapi banyak sekali pembelajaran yang didapat dari drakor ini. Dari mulai mengetahui kehidupan orang-orang yang sudah berusia lanjut yang satu per satu di antara mereka dekat dengan perpisahan. Pengorbanan orang tua untuk anak mereka. Serta di balik galaknya dan tegasnya seorang ibu, ia tetap cinta anaknya. Serta memiliki masa lalu yang pilu. Kim Hye Ja yang memiliki cita-cita pembaca cerita berusaha kuat meraih cita-citanya, tapi sayangnya mengalami kegagalan berulang kali. Apalagi tokoh laki-laki utama yang diperankan Nam Joo Hyuk yang malang sekali, yatim piatu. Tapi meskipun banyak hal yang menyentuh tapi ada juga hal kocak dari kakak Kim Hye Ja dan persahabatan Kim Hye Ja dan dua temannya. Sisi paling ngena adalah kehidupan keluarga, di mana Kim Hye Ja deket banget sama ibu dan ayahnya. Hal paling sedih adalah ketika ayahnya kecelakaan dan meninggal. Seperti malapetaka yang datang tiba-tiba. Nonton ini karena temanya keluarga. Hal yang didapat nggak hanya dari segi keluarga dan masa lalu. Tapi bagaimana setiap waktu yang berjalan dapat kita gunakan dengan sebaik-baiknya terutama untuk orang tua kita

- My Mister

Tau drakor ini dari explore di instagram yang ga sengaja dan tweet Paulo Coelho yang bilang drakor ini bagus. Jadi akhirnya memutuskan untuk nonton. Dan waw memang buat termenung. Dari mulai tokoh utama Lee Ji An yang dari awal episode selalu berekspresi datar dan nggak pernah senyum, ini berhubungan sama masa lalu dan kehidupannya yang berat, kemiskinan, utang menumpuk, tulang punggung, orang tua yang entah di mana, beban pekerjaan, yang semuanya itu membuat ia memandang dunia gelap dan jahat sekali. Dan dia bertemu dengan Park Doog-Hoon yang punya beban pekerjaan berat dan tuntutan kehidupan. Dari mulai istrinya yang selingkuh, dituduh menerima suap, kecurangan di tempat kerja, tuntutan keluarga (ibunya pengin dia sukses dan dia jadi yang paling tinggi pekerjaannya, karena kakak dan adiknya pengangguran) karena beban pekerjaannya berat dia selalu nggak senyum. Menutup rapat masalahnya dari orang lain, mungkin ini yang membuat istrinya selingkuh karena kurangnya komunikasi. Pembelajaran dari drakor ini adalah keikhlasan penerimaan terhadap hal yang nggak kita sukai nyatanya adalah yang membuat kita banyak belajar, kesempatan kedua ketika orang-orang nggak percaya sama kamu, dan hubungan persaudaraan yang erat. Setelah menonton drakor ini jadi merenung banyak hal, apalagi saat ujian datang betubi-tubi yang harus dilakukan adalah menerima dan menjalaninya. Karena pasti

Day 12 : favourite tv series.

Nonton series udah jadi bagian dari hidup gue sejak SMA, entah drakor atau series US atau series indo di youtube yg cuma beberapa episode wkwkwk.

Now, let me tell you about my favorite tv series all the time.

1. Friends

“We were on a break!”,

ini merupakan salah satu dialog yg khas banget dari tv series friends. Yap, ross bakal ngomong kata-kata ini kalau dia lagi break dengan rachel dan menjalin hubungan dengan perempuan lain wkwkwk.

Gue tau ini jadul banget, but this tv series always always entertaining me.

Sedih nya dapet, kesel nya dapet, kocaknya apalagi. Karakter rachel, ross, monica, joey, chandler dan phoebe, bikin tv series friends jadi punya warnanya sendiri. Ceritanya juga ringan, konfliknya standar, serius ini kebanyakan ngelawaknya wkkwkwk buat gue pribadi ya.

Theme song nya juga enak banget.

2. Stranger things

Gue lupa sih awal mula gue bisa nonton series ini gimana tapi ini salah satu tv series netflix yg gue rekomendasiin tapi buat kalian yg gak terlalu suka sama monster dan hal-hal menjijikan, mending jgn nonton. I wish eleven and the geng gak tumbuh dewasa karena kalau udah pada dewasa pasti jalan ceritanya akan disesuaikan dengan umur mereka karena di season 1 dan 2 the story is just about monster and their friendship.

3. Voice korean drama (semua season)

Buat kalian yg suka dengan cerita pembunuhan, psikopat dan sejenisnya, kalian wajib nonton voice korean drama semua season ya. Ceritanya seputar kepolisian korea selatan, tapi lebih fokus ke tim golden time center. Dikepalai oleh Kang Kwoon Joo yg memiliki kemampun untuk bisa mendengar suara-suara yg tidak bisa di dengar manusia pada umumnya tapi bukan hantu ya wkwkwkwk. Jadi setiap ada kasus apapun, entah itu penculikan, pembunuhan dan lainnya, Kang Kwoon Joo ini bisa mendengar suara-suara yg ada di sekitar korban hanya lewat sebuah telpon yg pada akhirnya membantu tim golden time center untuk menolong korban tersebut.

Menurut gue setiap season itu punya klimaksnya masing-masing, tapi yg paling berbekas di ingatan gue sampai sekarang yaitu season 1, gue lupa episode berapa. Pokoknya seorang nenek disalib di dalam lemari dan dibawahnya di tuliskan salah satu ayat bibel. Kacau sih, parah banget ini drakor.

Recommend dan gue lagi nunggu season terakhirnya, gak sabar!!

4. Hospital playlist (korean drama)

Kalau yg ini masih korean drama tapi ini salah satu official netflix tv series. Cuma 12 episode, gak kaya drakor pada umumnya yg biasanya 16 episode atau lebih.

Ini benar-benar bagus banget, kenapa bagus? Jalan ceritanya oke, semua cast porsi ceritanya rata, gak lebih menonjol ke A atau B. Banyak banget pesan moral yg bisa kita dapat ,selain itu pertemanan antara kelima dokter ini solid banget! Bener-bener gak bikin bosen dan gak sabar banget nungguin season 2 nya.

5. Stranger or secret forest (korean drama)

Kalau yg ini ceritanya tentang jaksa dan kepolisian korea selatan, khususnya detektif tepatnya.

Jadi si jaksa dan salah satu detektif awalnya punya hubungan gak baik, tapi seiring berjalannya waktu mereka di tuntut untuk memecahkan berbagai kasus pembunuhan berantai dan kasus korupsi yg terjadi di kejaksaan korea bersama-sama.

Suka banget sama karakter lead cowonya, no emosi banget, datar. Hwang Shi-Mok (lead actor) terkenal sebagai jaksa yg apatis dan ignorance, padahal sebenarnya waktu kecil dia pernah melakukan operasi otak yg akhirnya membuat dia menjadi seseorang yg tidak punya emosi.

Bagus banget jalan ceritanya, bener-bener gak bisa nebak apa yg bakal terjadi di eps berikutnya. Gak kerasa season 2 nya udah mau habis, curiga bakal ada season 3 krn ceritanya lg gantung bgt sekarang.

these eyes are genuinely so funny to me. they can't be by the same entity that made the original: a human artist would draw them in a style matching the portrait, and an image generator would either do that, or generate something more photorealistic

so im trying to figure out the thought process here. was it an artistic flair to feel like they 'made' the art? to try and beat the ai allegations? or just to make it more 'tma'-y? did op truly not see the vast difference in style between them and the rest of the image?

or did they just not care, said, 'Meh, im not gonna spend more than 10 mins on this - What am i, an artist?'

1박 2일 Pep Rally, We are One! This family has shared a lot of good memories over the years. It was fun watching the members against the staff/production. It looks like everyone had a great time!

I was a bit sad for Dong Gu though because he didn’t really share most of the memories the others had. I hope he really does get the chance to meet Han Hyo Joo on 2D1N! Also, it’s now a year since he first started on 2D1N! Please have a lot of wonderful trips with your hyungs. You’re a great addition to the team, despite what others are saying.

Plus, Jeju couple is still alive lol (JJY + JM). They’re not really shy about it anymore hahaha! And what to do with our Junho Yaps?! He’s so sly and hilarious omg! Gotta love Defconn's stylish way of opening the ice cream, too!

For the staff, you’re always working hard to give this amazing production. You’re as funny as the members and you made everything funnier omg! Thank you so much! Hope you enjoyed your beer and chicken!

Someday it has happened to you that you were having a super epic and/or incredible dream, and just when you were about to reach the best part or climax of the dream it sound the alarm to go to school and you forget practically everything that you dreamed exept what was about to happen? Or something similar?

Well, this is what happened to me this morning. Why did that happen to me?! I leave with intrigue in the best part!! QAQ

Also I was practically all day with the doubt and trying to remember what happened in the dream and to know the identity of the protagonist T^T I'm not sure if it was protagonist or antagonist
