주석ㆍ소감 // Notes & Thoughts

1. Judas makes it clear here that he knows Jesus will be betrayed and die as a result, which possibly suggests the interpretation where Jesus came to him and told him what was going to happen. However, Judas doesn't clarify if he knows that he will be the one to actually do it.

2. Original is literally something like "greater than god, human path". I'm not sure if means a path for humanity being greater than (can be achieved through) God, or if it refers to Jesus as a man being greater than Jesus as a god.

3. Here Judas refers to Jesus as 예수 (yesu), the typical Korean name for Jesus, instead of 지저스 (jijeoseu), which they normally use in this show. What does it mean?!

4. Original is literally something like "with occupiers over there, deal(ings) upon which your life hangs". Not sure if this means a deal has been made, or if it just means dealings in general.

개인적으로 즐거운 취미는 '내 돈이 나가는 수준'까지 하는 게 좋다고 생각한다. '남의 돈이 들어오는 수준'까지 가게 되면 취미의 영역에서는 이미 벗어나고, 즐거움만 추구할 수도 없고, 내가 좋아하는 것만 해가지고는 돈이 벌리지도 않는다.

그런 의미에서 김기연 배우님께서는 '즐거운 취미'의 경계선에 거의 다다르신 게 아닌가 싶다. 사진을 찍는 내 입장에서 보면, 스톡사진이나 행사촬영같은 걸 건드리면 내 취향이나 내 즐거움 따위는 이미 저세상으로 가버리고 남의 취향에 나를 맞추는 고단한 노동이 남는다. 김배우님께서도 지금 경계선에서 어느 쪽으로 몸을 기울이실지, 본인의 즐거움을 고려해 잘 판단을 해봐야 하지 않을까 싶다.

Yesterday, I finished my last performance a week early without any problems. It's all thanks to the love and interest that so many people have sent our way. At the start of the premiere and even as time went on, I had no idea that this work would be loved so much for as long as it has. The producer said the same thing and with gratitude is already planning fore greater development, so I think that next season's Manderley on Fire will come back burning spectacularly hot. At the premiere, director Robert Johanson said, "Don't watch Hitchcock's film, rather, study and imagine and plan through the original novel, and find the mystery and pull it out." I try to apply those words every season, and I think this must be the ant hell power of a work like Rebecca. Dear Director Robert, I want to say thank you again for teaching me how to dig deeper always for the jewel beneath,, I love you🩷 You've seen it many times but it's always new. Rebecca, a mystery thriller that gives you goosebumps and expands as you try to figure it out; a perfect musical harmony by the composer Sylvester Levay! Throughout these ten years, of the many teams that contributed in bettering the quality, the Assistant Directors' hard work, who monitored every performance and kept it from becoming a mess, was the biggest [yet]. Thank you so much to Assistant Director Ki Jin Joo and Se Hyuk 🙏🏻💧 I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Director Kang Eun Mi and the theater officials who always had a delicate hand in operating the condition of the theater and the sound environment to the best quality. this is a full english script for the 2021 run of Xcalibur, translated from the official scriptbook. As before this was translated using online translators so theres almost definitely some mistakes or inaccuracies (if you see any let me know!) but this was done entirely by me with some songs translated by JuJu_XIA준수 on YouTube (go check her out for some lyric videos)
