Monkey Wrench is in dire straits right now, and it needs all the support it can get.
Taken from here.
This is a very good series, and everyone working on it deserves to be supported and funded for all of the work they put into it, so please, if you can, give whatever you have to ensure this shows has a prosperous future. Money, views, anything. This show shouldn't die just from four episodes! IMO, it deserves a streaming deal.
Don't believe me? Watch for yourself.

I want to love Monkey Wrench...
But I don't yet.
Off the top the biggest hurdle is that I don't like either of our main characters. Shrike is annoying, Beebs is very boring, and I don't love either design. I also can't help but see them as pale copies of Ren Hoëk and Jet Black respectively. They're just too on point y'know? In fact the premise calls to mind like three different anime (Bebop, Outlaw Star, Space Dandy) and MW hasn't done enough to set it self apart.
The writing really isn't doing it for me. The humor in particular. Is Ren-- Shrike's gag of getting words wrong and mispronouncing things supposed to be funny, charming? It's just not hitting. There's also this trend of saccharine characters with goofy, baby voices that feels like something from the early 2010s internet humor, it's a really weird choice. I don't think I've chuckled at the show yet which is a problem because it's clearly aiming for humor much of the time. Maybe it's the voice acting?
The music is also detracts from the show, imo. Not much more to add. It often feels out of place or used improperly which isn't what you want from a soundtrack.
It's not all bad of course. The animation is good overall, lots of fun little flourishes. Some quality direction too. The creator clearly has an affinity for hands to which is fuggin' #relatable. I never see that enough.
Like I said I want to like this show, I'm always hungry for quality furry content, but it's just not there yet for me. I would really need to see some engaging, compelling writing for the main duo to get drawn in. There are a lot, a huge number, of broke, mis-matched bounty hunter shows and I hope Monkey Wrench can stand out.
P.S: The waifu game is off to a banger start though. Sheeesh

So after watching all 3 episodes of "Monkey Wrench" so far, I gotta say...
If I had money, I would totally subscribe to the Patreon. For those who do have money, support this series ASAP. It's crazy fun, and indie animation like this needs all the love and funding it can get.

⚠️⚠️ Too hot to handle‼️
Yes I was supposed to do the Shadow of Night Read Along but I was distracted by this vampire and thought I would play with fire 😁
I also did this portrait. I think Matthew de Clermont / Matthew Roydon aka Matthew Goode is the most glorious vampire there ever was. Those big soulful blue eyes are to die for.
Anyhow, the read along...
Shadow of Night Read Along Ch22
We were just clearing St Paul’s Churchyard when Matthew turned on an urchin with a filthy face and painfully thin legs.
Matthew’s blade was at the child’s ear in a flash. ‘Move that finger so much as a hair, lad, and I’ll take your ear off,’ he said softly.
I looked down with surprise to see the child’s fingers brushing against the bag I wore at my waist.
There was always a hint of potential violence about Matthew, even in my own time, but in Elizabeth’s London it was much closer to the surface. Still, there was no need for him to turn his venom on one so small.
‘Matthew,’ I warned, noting the terror on the child’s face, ‘stop it.’
Matthew Roydon has definitely reverted back to 16th century morals and sensitivities 🥺. But the big grump is soon to soften up where Jack is concerned.

A Personal Photo Assignment in Death Valley National Park by Mark Stevens
Via Flickr:
While walking across the dune ridges and flats in the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes of Death Valley. The view of this setting is looking to the north to more distant and higher dune ridges with people walking to the top. My thought on composing this image was to take advantage of the contrast of colors present in the sands to my front. Nearby with the small mesquite tree were darker sands. Next came a brighter shade with the washout area. After that came the dune ridges, one after the other, with their own different shades and tones. I also decided to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to bring out more of a sweeping view across this national park landscape.
