I'm new to this whole blogging thing and not sure what I'll do with this but willing to give it a try.

I'm a 38 year old woman who's life utterly changed in 1 day ... 1 test and it's never been the same since. It's forever been a roller coaster that just isn't fun.

At 24 I had some medical issues but nothing that seemed crazy or out of a norm. Boy was I wrong! I went for my first ever colonoscopy (don't even ask me how many I've had I can't even remember at this point) and and came out of it telling me something that forever changed me. I had 100s of polyps in my colon and I was going to need major surgery. My heart sunk! What did this mean for my future??

The doctor pretty much told me go have a kid because the surgeries you need will forever effect fertility oh plus the c word started to get thrown around too. Cancer .... I'm 24 .... I'm not ready yet for a kid. Plus he just said I need surgery. Isn't that fair? Go have a kid but face major surgery right after. Thanks doctor!

Needless to say I didn't run out and find someone to knock me up ...haha. I wanted to take care of what was wrong with me. I started having every other week colonoscopies to prepare for surgery when I ended up having a partial perforated bowel. Into the hospital I go.

Thankfully, I didn't need emergency surgery but was getting surgery soon after. I had my total colon and rectum removed and a j-pouch created with my small intestines (don't worry, I'll say more about all the fun specifics later). If that wasn't enough to face within a year I was diagnosed with Desmoid Tumors (again more on that later).

Since 2011, my life has never ... never been the same. I don't even know what happened to that girl. I was forced to face a lit real quick, and honestly, I really never dealt with any of it. I bottled it all down and kept going. There was always another test, hiccup, something I had to deal with instead. The roller coaster had begun, and I have NEVER gotten a break from it since.

That's just a mini introduction of what I want to end up using this platform to talk about, work through, and just help educate.

The way my writing process is: I usually draft my ideas on either #GarageBand or #Logic (which I'm currently teaching myself how to use 😌)... And once I've got my draft the way I want it, I will send my songs to my trusted musician friends, my Dude and my Mama... If they groove to it? Then I know I'm on the right track. 😏 Sent this new song out to the fam last night, and got a great response! Now it's about fine tuning this draft, so that when I present it to the band, everyone has a clear idea of what to play. 🎶😏💞 I will be sharing sounds with you soon (I'm sensitive, chile, but I'm gettin there!)... The journey of an independent artist is never easy... . . Tonight's homework: beginning the work on my new website. (FYI, this image/bio is just a placeholder). 💻👓 . . I built my last site, years ago, with the help of @rlxpress 😉. So, to keep my costs down, I will also do as much designing as I can of this new site on my own. . . The funny thing is, I've always done a lot of the work myself as an #IndependentArtist 😏... . . I've always designed my own sites, edited my own videos (not my music vids, but all other performance vids), booked my own gigs, and I manage all of my social media platforms on my own as well. . . Will I want to do this forever? Absolutely not, lol. My next phase will be to hire staff to help me. . . But, for now, while I'm rebuilding my brand? It's nice to know that I have other talents besides singing that are an asset to my business. 🤓💞. . . As promised, I'm going to share more of my process with you as I go about re-creating my artist's life here in #Denver 😌. . .
