Roughing it to Pamper
Every woman deserves a bit of pamper from time to time, this day was all about us and spoiling our bodies. Reservations confirmed, bags packed, camera’s charged, router on and we were set to experience the pamper of Jozini.
our schedule:
12pm full body massage therapy 3pm boat cruise 7pm dinner. All excited and goal orientated I ignored to fill up the tank, because it wasn’t on the schedule maybe.. lol.  The car was running on RESERV TANK LOW. we eventually ran out of petrol in the middle of the road, it was sooo exciting hahahahahah, i’ve never experienced that before, luckily the petrol station was 500m away so we pushed the car to the side and proceeded to get petrol.
Tumblr media
Off we went to our pamper destination for a well deserved break away from the kids and spouses. On our way we realized we didn’t pack our swim wear and we stopped in the busy small town of Jozini infested with Chinese traders. It is orange and Avocado season because all the vendor have a pile of oranges and Avos on their table. We got some basic swim wear at the Chinese shop and off we went. As we drove we wondered why aren’t we reaching our destination but didn’t dwell on it as we passed the pay day traffic. We then discovered we missed our turn after crossing the bridge and seeing an amazing view of a building on a hill which happened to be our destination, we stopped by the bridge greeted some locals and took snaps for the Gram.
Tumblr media
On arrival we were met at the gate by security who scanned my drivers license and car disk, security sure is tight, which is good because when on vacation you can’t be thinking about checking if the doors are locked. It does make me wonder if we even lock our door.
We rescheduled our Massage to 5pm and our boat cruise to 3pm and dinner at 7pm. Dinner is the only scheduled item we reached on time a girls gotta eat. On the cruise we nibbles on some snacks and wine, enjoying the wonder of Jozini Dam, we met a few interesting people in the cruise living their best lives. This was a brilliant start to our cruise relaxation mode it prepped us beautifully for our massage.
Tumblr media
Our spa was beautifully located on a leafy space where you get to take in the the beautiful scenery as the massage therapist prepare for the massage. It was my first stone therapy massage I absolutely loved the calming and healing feel of the heat extracted from the stones on my back ahhhhh... take me back, and massage was absolutely wonderful.
Tumblr media
I’m big eater so I absolutely enjoy buffets, their selection of meals are well balanced not a lot of options for vegetarians but you’ll get the basics. After  our great nights rest in our Cosy room, we woke up to breathtaking views we checked out and off we went for breakfast, the lighting in the morning was great it reminds you that you’re on vacation, smile. After breakfast we took dip in the infinity pool, my goodness another first... I felt like I was in Maldives I enjoyed bringing out my beach body. We couldn’t leave the pamper spot without getting our nails done, we treated our hands and feet and off we went to the Tourism Indaba in Durban.

Several species belonging to the genus Hydrocynus of the family Alestidae are referred to as "tigerfish", and are particularly prized as game fish. These African fish are found in many rivers and lakes on the continent and are fierce predators with distinctive, proportionally large teeth.
The goliath tigerfish (Hydrocynus goliath) is among the most famous tigerfish. The largest one on record is said to have weighed 70 kg (154 pounds). It is found in the Congo River system and Lake Tanganyika and is the largest member of the family Alestidae. Another famous species, simply called the tigerfish (Hydrocynus vittatus), is commonly found in the southernly Okavango Delta, and the Zambezi River, and also in the two biggest lakes along the Zambezi, Lake Kariba which borders Zimbabwe and Zambia, Kabombo River in Zambia and Cabora Bassa in Mozambique, and finally in the Jozini dam in South Africa. Both the goliath tigerfish and its smaller relative the tigerfish are found in Africa.

South Africa Travel Destinations
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”South Africa Travel Destinations”][vc_column_text]In this article we are looking at more travel tips for South Africa and the best places to visit, some hidden gems, and some well known spots in this beautiful country.
South Africa is huge and the scenery is never ending. If you love the bush-veld and wild animals, then we have a place for you! If you prefer surfing, mountain biking, parasailing, cliff diving or anything else, we have a place for you to visit! From dams, to rivers and the magnificent Indian Ocean meeting the South Atlantic Ocean, we have it all!
Preparing for travel to South Africa can be exhausting but if you have a look at the places we will be talking about, you will get an entire months travel organized in one evening. We will touch on various local places and hidden gems, that very few locals know off.
Sterkfontein Caves, Gauteng
These caves are home to over 4 million year old animal fossils and hominids. If you are an archaeologist by heart and would like to give it a try, be sure to stop at the Sterkfontein Caves, also known as the Cradle of Humankind, and spend a day roaming around and taking in the ambiance of one of the most important excavation sites in the world.
You will find excellent exhibits, great guides, a restaurant, and awesome views that will kick start your visit to South Africa. There are plenty of B & B in the area if you would prefer to spend a day there and rest for your next stop.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Clarens, Free State
The Free state is a couple of hours drive from Gauteng, the drive takes you more inland.
The landscapes are more farm lands and the weather will definitely change from mild to hot. It mostly consist of vast open spaces with small towns that each have their own hidden gem.
Clarens is situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains and is called the “Jewel of the Free State”. It was establish in 1912 and named after Clarens in Switzerland. Lots of interesting little galleries and restaurants, with spectacular scenery all around make Clarens a great battery-charging weekend getaway.
There are plenty of hiking trails such as, Angel Wings Trail, a 2 day trail with an overnight hut. There is Bokpoort Mountain Bike Trail, categorized as very difficult and not recommended for children under 16 years of age. Clarens has a local brewery that manufactures local craft beers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Kruger National Park
The Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa and covers a space of 19,485 square kilometers. To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.
Sable Hide, Kruger National Park
Come nightfall, this bird hide can be rented as a wild, off-the-grid bush camp with no electricity or luxuries. Elephants are known to slurp from the water just meters away from the hide and you’ll be sure to hear hyaenas howling as you tuck in for the night.
The Kruger National Park is full of wonderful and beautiful places to visit from rest camps to bush camps and even private resorts.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Pongola Game Reserve in Northern KwaZulu Natal
Pongola Game Reserve in Northern KwaZulu Natal is where I fell in love with elephants. Located alongside Lake Jozini and surrounded by the Lebombo Mountains, the reserve is home to the gorgeous White Elephant Lodge. Offering safari drives, sunset cruises and elephant monitoring activities, it’s also home to the Space for Elephants program, a program responsible for reintroducing orphan elephants into the reserve.
Drakensburg, KwaZulu Natal
While the towering mountain range could hardly be regarded as hidden, the 5km wide amphitheater cliff face is an under-marketed natural phenomenon that draws far fewer crowds than it should. Standing at the base of this sheer tower of rock will make you feel as though you’re transported to a fictional landscape. Hikes to the peak of the cliff are available, and the majestic Tugela Falls at the top will make the walk more than worth it. There is some great accommodation with unrestricted views of the amphitheater, an unforgettable sight to wake up to daily.
Durban, KwaZulu Natal
Along the coastline of Kwazulu Natal you will find Durban, the local beach for this area and plenty to do all year long. The temperature doesn’t change that much from winter to summer and the South Atlantic Ocean is nice and warm for the people who love to swim in the ocean. There are beautiful little picturesque towns all along the coast line that you can visit as you make your way towards Cape Point.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Bulungula, Wild Coast
A truly surreal off-the-grid spot along the Wild Coast. The journey, over hills and through dirt roads, far from the main highway is so worth it even if you don’t have a 4×4. You’ll stay in a hut overlooking the meeting of a river with the ocean, enjoy freshly-made pancakes on the beach at sunrise and savor the sun setting over the hills as farmers herd their sheep and cattle home.
Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape
A small town scattered with coffee trees that consist of a population of 260 people. Although a small town, you can keep yourself busy with, spear fishing, kite surfing, free diving and snorkeling. The ocean is beautifully preserved and consist of loads of sea life.
All along the coast you can find small towns like these with an abundant plant life and tour guides that would love to show you around.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Cape Town
Cape Town, some may call it the mother city of South Africa. Where the people are friendly and the area is full of daring things to do. The Cape is divided into  the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western part. Unfortunately it is just too large to visit in one go. Each area with it own beauty and a wide variety of amazingly beautiful gems.
We have only touch on a few places and that doesn’t even make up a quarter of all the exquisite areas. Preparing for travel in South Africa is the easy part, narrowing down places to visit is a completely different cattle of fish. If you love the coast, then create a holiday that takes you along the coast line. Beautiful beaches and raging waters will tickle your arm hairs. If you prefer more wild life with game drives, mountain biking, cliff diving and hiking then I would recommend you spend more time in land, around the nature reserves. But where ever you go, be prepared to have your mind blown away with the beauty of South Africa.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
