Who: @juliettevarona | Closed Where: Downtown Cape May
The events of the carnival might have settled for the night, but things were just getting started in the streets of downtown Cape May. Departing from the docks of Waverly Wharf, Luca had eventually found himself at one of the lesser-known establishments, a quaint but delightful bar just north of the beach front. He had been initally hesitant to do so, but after a brief check-in with the staff at the Boiler Room, all of whom had urged him to take the night off, he hardly needed to be told twice.
In typical fashion, it hadn’t taken long before Luca had struck up conversations with the nearby patrons, who, like him, had made their way over following the conclusion of the festival activities. Following a few rounds of drinks and the emphatic requests of those nearby, he managed to find himself on the karoake stage. Hardly a surprising move, given his propensity for impulse and general enjoyment of the spotlight. He was considering the arrangement he would perform when he saw her, looking even more captivating since their last encounter at the farmer’s market — a feat he wouldn’t have thought possible, until he noticed her across the room. Leave it to Juliette.
Unsure if it was the alcohol or the nostalgia talking, though he was certain he didn’t care, one way or the other. Hastily approaching the microphone, Luca briefly looked upon Juliette, intently but briefly, soaking in this moment, eager to see the look that would inevitably register on her face when she realized that, not only did they end up at the same bar, but that he was insistent she accompany him onstage. “This first number is really far better suited with a singing partner. How about…” Pausing to quickly gaze across the audience, as if he hadn’t already set his sights on her the second he realized she was here. “You? Hmm? What do you say, sweet cheeks? Join me on stage for a quick one?” he asked with a smirk, waving at Juliette as the crowd erupted in applause, motioning with his index finger for her to accompany him.

STARTER :  CLOSED @juliettevarona ! LOCATION : food trucks !
so she may have gone a little overboard. kai paused to ruminate, glancing down at her arms full of practically every carnival food you could think of – corn dogs, onion rings, chicken tenders, roasted sweet corn, giant pretzel, fried oreos. with a shrug, she headed over to the table she had left her sister at earlier, beginning to set them down without even glancing over at the occupants.  ❛ hey, so the lines for the frozen lemonade was too long so i just got us a couple waters and we can try to grab some once the lines get better, ❜  she rambled as she finished setting down all of food.   ❛ sound good ? ❜  at her query, she looked up and finally realized that it wasn’t her sister at the table. instead it was juliette, and kai gave her an awkward grin before clearing her throat, looking around.  ❛ uh, sorry, ❜  she said, shoulders dropping when she spotted her sister walking off with her friends.  ❛ i told my sister to save this table while i get us food but apparently she had other plans. ❜  she sighed, sitting down on the other side of the table.  ❛ it’s fine. um... you hungry ? ❜  she asked, gesturing to the trays of food spread out.

WHERE: Willow Creek Winery.
WHEN: Thursday 18th May.
WHO: Sunday Hatton & @juliettevarona
Sunday and Juliette were close friends, they didn't see each other a lot, but when they did catch up a good time was always had and Sunday thoroughly enjoyed her company. After rearranging this long over due catch up a couple of times due to work, Sunday finally managed to wrangle an afternoon off in time to catch up with Juliette. After taking a quick shower, Sunday slipped on one of her mini dresses, a pair of heels and grabbed her jacket before picking up her bag and heading out her apartment.
Willow Creek Winery was one of Sunday's favourite places, she had always enjoyed a glass of wine so going for a tasting session was right up her street. Arriving at the winery, Sunday took a seat at a table just outside the entrance, tapping her fingers gently on the wood as she waited for Juliette, happy to just be sat relaxing for the first time in a while.

"If you want, uh—" Agnes grew momentarily silent as the English word escaped her. She spent the moment contemplating how else to vocalize her thoughts. "If you want proper svensk mat, I will suggest you begin with our pastries. We Swedes love a good pastry. Fika cannot be fika without one."
After striking up a conversation with the chef one day at Swede Things, Agnes had offered to share her knowledge of Scandinavian cuisine with the other. A lot of the dishes were similar to those found in other European cuisines or were even widely available in the USA already; but there were a handful the Swede knew the other probably wouldn't have any familiarity with. Still, she planned to start by suggesting the basics. Swedes loved pastries; and there were several pastries that were quite iconic to the country, most notably kanelbullar, kladdkaka, dammsugare, and chokladbollar as well as semlor and lussekatter seasonally. And then there was the birthday treat known as prinsesstårta...
"Did you have time to look at the list I sent for you?" The Swede had emailed a list of popular entrees, sides, and desserts for the other to browse through before they planned to meet up. That way, the chef would have some idea regarding Scandinavian cuisine and wouldn't be bombarded with entirely new information and all the funky dish names.

@juliettevarona when + where: saturday morning, bella veda café
As discussed it was bright and early on Saturday morning and Kiana found herself entering the café with a hum of appreciation as she inhaled the sweet scent of the pastries. She smiled brightly as she moved further inside. It was so cute. She had no idea how she hadn't wandered into the café before. It was a great spot to just kick back and people watch, paint, or just have a coffee with a friend. How that she was aware, she'd definitely frequent it often. Walking up to the counter, she gazed at the glass case of options and bit her lip. She wasn't the type that always had a sweet tooth but everything looked so good. "This place is going to get me in trouble," she giggled.

Who: Juliette Varona | @juliettevarona (closed) Where: Luca's Residence | The Cove
The pasta was boiling, the sauce was simmering, and the basil had been recently chopped. For Luca and those who currently occupied space in his home, this had meant one thing: preparations for family night were well underway. The event had quickly become a cornerstone among the De Rossi and Peloso families, as well a a handful of others who had been equally regarded as such. Despite the calamity of their daily lives, and the chaos and complexity that it often encompassed, the occasion served as a weekly reminder of what was really important. What it all came down to. This. Them. Family.
It wouldn’t be much longer before the dinner portion of the evening would commence, and most of the group had retreated to the patio in the meantime, enjoying the view of the golden hour over a round of drinks. The sounds of their laughter and conversation filtered through the windows, as Luca and Nonna worked with their usual vigor and diligence to finalize preparations for tonight’s meal. It wasn’t long before another sound had followed, a distinct and familiar chime that indicated another guest had just arrived. Following a curt nod from Nonna as she pulled the zabaglione dishes from the refrigerator, he excused himself from the kitchen, promising to return as soon as he offered a proper greeting to their visitor.
Walking with a hastened pace through the foyer, Luca was eager to see who had arrived, though he assumed it would be a guest unfamiliar to him, perhaps one of Abigail’s short-lived suitors or a neighbor coming to indulge in what Nonna referred to as the pinnacle of a home-cooked Italian meal. The guest had certainly been a new one to family night, but their identity was hardly unknown to him, one he never expected to see here, not after countless invitations and requests to join him for dinner on family night were declined or left unanswered entirely. “Juliette,” he managed, voice barely above a whisper as he spoke. An impressive feat, given that the air had been practically been knocked out of him at the sight of her. “You… you’re here? Why are you here?”
