Happy Saturday! 🍻 How’s your weekend so far? Any plans this weekend? I’m looking at all my books and trying to determine which one to recommend to our work book club on Wednesday. We are a technology based business. What are your recommendations? 🔖 #tbr #tbrpile #bookclub #bookrecommendations #americanroyals #trespassers #sworntoforget #promtheory #aurorarising #therussian #thefalseprince #allthelightwecannotsee #therivierahouse #thecertaintyofchance #jumpingthecurb (at Calgary, Alberta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CioGMVPPjq1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Jumping The Curb: One Family’s Journey Through a Catastrophic Injury by Gail Desberg First of all, thanks to the author and @bookstagrammerscom for my copy of the book and for the opportunity to read such a great book. Honestly, I don’t really read much memoirs but this one is different. This book is well written and extraordinary. It is about a family and an incident that changed their lives forever. I honestly was tearing up while reading this but I could not put it down, the writing was so raw as the author wrote from experience and she was able to convey that experience to me. I hope for all the best for this family and I recommend it to everyone! 🔖 #ad #gifted #jumpingthecurbdailgesberg #jumpingthecurb #bookishcanadians #bookblogger #bibliophile #bookstagramcanada #bookstagramphilippines #bookstagramfeature #bookishcommunity #booksofinstagram #bookreview #bookreviewer #igreads #bookworld #bookworm #booksbooksbooks #readersofinstagram #bookgram #booklover #booknerd #bookcommunity #bookstagrammer #goodreads (at Calgary, Alberta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CiWFuR0v-cK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

TBR: Jumping The Curb by Gail Desberg Blurb: An unbelievably candid tell-all about what life is actually like with a quadriplegic husband and young family. How do you survive a catastrophic injury? Imagine a wonderful carefree life. Then in a split second it is abruptly unrecognizable. How do you move forward? How do you reconcile KNOWING that your life will never, ever be the same? In this moving and brutally honest memoir, award-winning author Gail Desberg, discloses her experiences through two decades worth of medical crises after her husband suffers a devastating spinal cord injury. The hidden challenges managed by families and caregivers in the wake of a horrific accident are exposed as Gail is constantly faced with making unfathomable decisions, fielding insurance nightmares, and raising two children while navigating life-changing events. When Alex Kiejdan, a free-spirited father of two, decides to go body surfing at the Jersey shore, he has no idea that it will be the last time he has full control of his body. After a life altering accident, their young family is thrown into an alien world of medical emergencies, anxiety ridden insurance scenarios, life and death decisions, and family politics. Gail has to put her own needs aside in order to take care of their small children, support her quadriplegic husband, and try to create an awareness of the dangers that lie beyond the water's edge. These sacrifices come at a cost that only gradually reveals itself. If you are looking for a raw, non-sugar coated, well-written account of life after a catastrophic injury and how to move forward…this book is a must-read. 🔖 #jumpingthecurb #gaildesberg #bookishcanadians #bookblogger #bibliophile ##bookstagramphilippines #bookrecommendations #bookstagramfeature #instabook #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #bookfeature #booksbooksbooks #bookgram #booknerd #bookcommunity #bookstagrammer #bookreviewersofinstagram #books #readingcommunity #bookloversofinstagram #goodreads #ad #gifted (at Calgary, Alberta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CiKpeP0v6o8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
