oh this is so exciting! happy pride! You've reblogged a number of pretty bejeweled things today, and I wonder if they could be a prompt, perhaps as a gift, or an item in need of cursebreaking? no stress at all if this doesn't spark the muse!
hi!! thank you for this prompt, i kind of loved it. i chose to use this as a reference point and honestly had a lot of fun with it!
as i said yesterday, this wound up being thematically appropriate for a certain blond someone's birthday, which is why it's posting now!! i'm still working on other prompts, and feel free to keep sending some if you'd like!
this is about ~1100 words (sooo close to under 1k 😭) and features curse-breaking partners harry and draco, very jealous harry, and cheesy gemstone/eye comparisons. 💎🎈
“He bought them at auction,” Draco says in a hushed sort of voice, beaming down at the dangly gold earrings Harry is frantically casting on. “I can’t even imagine the price—not that that matters, of course, it would be thoughtful either way, but look—those are genuine pearls, Harry. Byzantine! Sixth century!”
“Sure,” Harry says through gritted teeth, not pausing in his casting. His hand is starting to cramp a little, so he drops his wand and takes a breath to gather his magic up in his spread fingers, ignoring Draco rolling his eyes and muttering something about showoffs. “Too bad they’re cursed.”
“They’re not cursed!”
“They’re definitely cursed,” Harry says, flexing his fingers over the earrings nestled in their ornate wooden box. He could cast the magic he’s working over them in his sleep—the perks of being a rather competent Curse-Breaker—and it’s no trouble at all to cast a few more times, just to be sure. More than sure. He’s absolutely certain that there’s something magically wrong with these earrings, and he’ll prove it. “And they’re ugly, beside.”
“They’re not—you have no taste.”
“They wouldn’t suit you at all, either; you’ve only got the one ear pierced,” Harry says, glancing up at the tiny diamond cuff glinting over Draco’s cartilage and the even tinier moonstone stud in his lobe, easily overlooked unless you make a habit of looking. Harry thinks he could point them out in the dark, blindfolded and spun around, but that’s not anyone’s business but his own. “Are you sure they were for you?”
“Of course they’re for me,” Draco huffs, shaking his head. “The box had my name on it, and Edmund left a note that he’d been called away but he wanted to make sure I got my present on my actual birthday instead of waiting for the party on Saturday—” The party that Harry had planned with absolutely minimal help from Edmund, who he thinks has a low chance of actually showing up, the bastard. “And, as I already told you, there are pearls.”
Harry just glares down at the stupid earrings, shaking his head.
Draco sighs. “Pearls are my birthstone.”
“Since when?”
“Since I was born in June, you nitwit.”
“They don’t even look like pearls,” Harry says, trying not to swear out loud. He’d gotten Draco a moonstone and diamond cuff so he could switch out his piercings. He’d never even considered birthstones, only that little stud that always catches his eye, and the shimmery moonstones on Draco’s watch; he’d learned about adularescence and thought about what light looked like reflected in Draco’s eyes.
At least, Harry knows, his gift is actually wearable. He can’t imagine Draco in these earrings, dangling there as he chats away with their clients and tosses his head back in laughter at Harry’s scant, interjected jokes. They’d agreed early on in their Curse-Breaking partnership that Draco was more of the natural at client relations, but Harry never feels as good as he does when he can join in and make Draco laugh. And the client, of course. That’s fine too.
He wonders if Edmund ever makes Draco laugh like that, when he’s not Portkeying off to another auction, standing Draco up for dinner with his parents, or gifting him absurd, assuredly cursed earrings. Certainly not, Harry thinks.
“I assure you that there are pearls,” Draco says, reaching out for the box. Harry smacks his hands down over it, shaking his head.
“No way, you know the rules. No touching, not until I’m sure there are no curses,” Harry says. “And I’m sure there are, so—”
“That rule is for both of us,” Draco says, swatting at Harry’s hands, laughing a little as Harry swats him back, their hands fluttering against each other over the top of box.
Harry traps both of Draco’s hands in his for a moment, grinning triumphantly, then yelps as Draco grips his hands back and slams them down on the box.
“You can’t keep me away from my birthday present,” Draco says firmly.
Before Harry can argue—before he can say he’s just protecting Draco, he’s just showing him who Edmund really is, and he could show him so much more, he could prove that Edmund is a dunce who has no idea what he has in Draco, who takes him for granted and thinks Draco would wear yellow gold and pearls and garnets and dangly, ugly, obnoxious, definitely cursed earrings in a pair when he only has one ear pierced—before any of that can come out, the door to their office bursts open to reveal a panting, red-faced Edmund, practically doubled over.
“Edmund?” Draco says, standing up from where he’s been perched on Harry’s desk and whipping his hands back.
Edmund wheezes at him, slowly straightening, his eyes widening as he holds up a very similarly-shaped wrapped box in one hand. “Wrong—present—”
“What?” Draco squawks as Harry grins broadly, triumphant.
“Don’t—open—oh—” Edmund continues, eyes going impossibly wider as he stares at the box still under Harry’s hands. “Don’t—touch—”
It’s Harry’s turn to squawk, “What?!” and whip his hands away, just as Edmund chokes out, “Cursed.”
Harry’s grin drops, staring down at the box—which is now devoid of earrings. He realizes this at the same time that Draco does, at the same time he feels a suddenly pinch in his left earlobe, jumping in his seat and yelping, “Ouch!” at the same time Draco’s hands fly up to his own ear.
He feels a weight near his cheek and gapes, wide-eyed, as he sees one of the earrings is now in Draco’s unpierced left earlobe. The other, he realizes as he cups his hand over the side of his face, is in his ear.
Harry and Draco stare at each, something charged and heated building up in the air between them, tingling where the earring is and spreading out to the tips of Harry’s fingers.
“Right,” Draco says as the moment builds, his eyes never leaving Harry’s—wide, bright, beaming with something that would be adularescence if his eyes were the moonstones they resemble. “What kind of curse, exactly?”
The earrings jingle, the magic tingles, and suddenly Draco drops into Harry’s lap, Harry’s arms going around him with little choice, their breaths quickening and a flush spreading across both their faces, as Draco’s horrible boyfriend watches.
“Erm,” Edmund says. “Right. That is to say, ah—well, you see, it might not be a curse so much as a—a bond, perhaps.”
“Perhaps,” Draco says, pants out really, staring down at Harry, who stares back, until they can’t stare any longer because they’re kissing instead.

I decided to redesign Mikan Kurosaki again! (I'm also sorry, I cannot draw😓) I think she looks better with her long beautiful burnt orange hair down almost like a spiky version of her mom's fuller/wavier hair with an ahoge on top, and long braided front bangs hanging on the sides of her face. She still wears mom's flower hair pins. And her braids are tied with double strawberry hair bobbles.
She prefers to dress up so badass like punk rock clothing especially in black! She evens loves to wear fingerless gloves, spiky bracelets, small hoop earrings, and chains on either her pants, shorts or skirts!
I decided to change her birthday from June 12 to May 31. That is because I just noticed that ruby (July), dad Ichigo's birthstone, sapphire, (September) mom Orihime's, and diamond, (April) bro Kazui's are all precious stones like Mikan's (emerald).

This is a power she gains from her weapon, but works as a once in a life time sort of thing. Similar to being Rejuvenated, but more powerful as her form changes to be slightly more monsterous, but doesn't change her height
「Charcter Arc」
Throughout the series, Aleja is seen as a bit of a troublesome gremlin. Always screwing around with the turtles and messes up with their mission so that she could take over or simply just do it out of spite to annoy them. However, the poor thing is just lonely. She was scared that people would not accept her at all, so she would take the job as a vigilante and take part on night patrols so that maybe she could be seen in a good and better light.
However, in the movie, when she got in the way in stopping our heros and their new friend from getting the key back from The Foot Clan, she was unaware of the danger that would be unleashed upon them. The Krang were released upon eath, and the turtles along with an injured Splinter, April, and Casey jr were forced to flee after they lost their powers. But this is where things change compared to the movie. Instead of getting the key, Leo would actually listen to Raph, giving Aleja ( who was somehow lucky to still have her powers ) an opportunity to retrieve it herself just to prove herself that she was the true hero here. That's when the Alligator Snapping Turtle would save her before she could be killed by the Krang, and sent her back to the others in his pod. ( Hence why she had his badge/button in a previous design, which she would still keep on her )
And so, Aleja would make a truce to get Raph back, and everything is pretty much the same thing as the movie. And then, there's that one scene in the movie that's going to be a real gut punch in this retold version...
When Leo sacrifices himself, Aleja would have a flashback to when Raph almost died saving her. She couldn't let the Red-Eared Slider die in the Prison Dimension. So she would quickly find a way inside before Casey jr would close up the portal. She would try to fight off The Krang for as long as she could, as well as getting her butt kicked in the process, but she would reveal something big. Something that was heard by the team back on Earth. The thing is, not only did Aleja wanted to be a hero too, but she was actually inspired by the turtles to be one after she had seen one of their battles. But she had a grudge because they had the only two things she never had; Friends & Family. She then told Leo that she wouldn't be where she was without his family, and thanked him.
Eventually, Mikey was finally able to use his mystic hands with the help of his brothers to make a portal to save Aleja & Leo. And as everyone healed overtime while the city of New York was being rebuilt in the aftermath of the invasion, Aleja had finally reached her redemption and befriended the turtles. Seeing them as the family she never had before.
~。• Spinoff。•~
Aleja would have her own spinoff that takes place after the events of Season 2 and The Movie, and it would mostly be about her and her own little adventures. Meeting old and new characters, and following her path to becoming a hero. She would even have flashbacks to before she was ever Mutated too…

pearls

My grandmother was a diamond woman. One of the first things she bought herself, when WWII came around and she started working in the factory making bomber airplanes and got her first paycheck for it was a diamond ring. Then a fur coat and then a bright yellow sports car so - that says something about both the woman and the way wages were back in the day. She had to give up the car when my grandfather came back from the war alive, something I suspect my grandmother never quite forgave him for and over time the fur coat went the same way. She never stopped with the diamonds though. Over the years, and another husband, she collected them and when she was old she had all of her diamonds set into two huge rings, one for my sister and one for me. She showed them to us, in their safe deposit box at the bank, when we were young, with a promise that when she was gone, she would still be with us in those two rings.
Rings that were sold long before she died to pay for family needs but - diamonds. Always diamonds.
For myself, I always wanted something less - pat. Everyone loved diamonds. I wanted something unique and, living on the coast, there were plenty of places that sold pearls, both fresh water and salt. Pearls were magic to me, born of the sea, plucked from knobbed shells that I found ugly, secrets unwillingly shared by their oyster hosts, each one special and one of a kind. I told my grandmother, the first time she offered to buy me jewelry, that I wanted a pearl.
She refused.
Pearls, she firmly told me, meant tears. I could pick any other stone to wear but she would not, she said, buy me sorrow.
It was the second time she taught me a superstition with the solid assurance of it being fact. It stuck with me.
So, lets talk about pearls, the traditional birthstone of June.
Pearls have been taken from the sea almost the world over and their legends stretch that far too. In many Asian countries, pearls are tears that fell from one god or another into the ocean or the blood of dragons that did the same, falling into the water below them as they fought. Sometimes the oysters themselves are responsible, swallowing down rainbows to make their pearls. In Western culture, pearls have been said to be the tears Adam and Eve shed when booted from the Garden or a result of the goddess Venus rising from the foam of the ocean. Pearls show up in the Bible, both in the story about the merchant who sold all he had to buy a pearl he found in the market and with the proverb about 'throwing pearls before swine', a rebuke against giving wisdom to people who won't listen.
Interestingly enough, in Asia, pearls are a symbol of wisdom as well as prosperity and are considered lucky. In China, gold colored pearls are especially prized and dragons are often shown clutching one in their claws, symbolizing their wise nature. In Polynesia, its black pearls are prized for their rainbow incandescence, said to be the gift of a god to the human princess he loved. Western cultures prize white pearls which are said to represent purity, innocence, elegance and sophistication and despite my grandmother's words, are worn by brides on their wedding just as often as they're not, with a list of cravats that let people get around the 'pearls mean tears' with it being all right as long as the bride buys them herself, as long as the bride doesn't buy them herself, only if the groom gives them to the bride, only if they're borrowed, only if they're new and lastly, they're worn to represent fake tears that can take the place of real tears so the bride won't need to shed any in her marriage. Never, the saying goes, buy pearls that are whiter than your teeth.
Jackie Kennedy made wearing a pearl necklace a long running fashion trend and the painting The Girl With the Pearl Earring is almost as well known for her pearl as the girl. Considered a feminine gem recently, ropes of pearl were worn by men throughout history as a way of showing their wealth, particularly in India. The pearl is also considered a magical component, supposedly good for good fortune, protection and summoning wealth as well as a guard against snake bites and jaundice. Pearls are associated with the moon. They are used in love spells and sleeping with one under your pillow is said to ensure fertility. One of my favorites is that wearing them when you're scuba diving prevents shark attacks!
Speaking of diving, if you want extra reading, look up the Ama of Japan, women who traditionally freedive deep for pearls without breathing equipment. Their history goes back centuries and is absolutely woven with folklore and stories. (If you want me to make a post about them, just ask).
So - are pearls tears? Maybe. But not all tears are bad and these are particularly magical looking ones too.

"Happy birthday! It had to be pearls for someone with a June birthday and a strong connection to the sea. These will look so beautiful on you Beth!". ~*~
Tumblr media
The smile is soft but it is genuine, reaches into the light of her eyes and pours out over Kit and the black velvet box in her hands. The earrings themselves are gorgeous, and exquisitely tasteful. She would expect nothing less from Kit, though she maybe does take a breath when she realises there's shades of colour to them that speak of these as being incredibly rare, natural saltwater pearls. The ancient Greeks often associated them with lunar deities, and the Moon sings to the seas, so that seems only right. They also thought that pearls were associated with Venus, symbolising love and beauty and wealth. Some say pearls are the tears of angels, others say those of mermaids. What catches Beth is that they are paired with diamonds. Diamonds are said to provide the wearer with better relationships and an increase of inner strength. Diamonds are also the birthstone for April. Andy's birthday is the fourth of April. And what is he if not the gleaming star that holds her to the heavens? "I mean it, for reals. Dey gorgeous an' no can wait f' wear dem. We should get dolled up Friday an' show 'em off, yeah?"
