May I humbly request pathetic wet cat characters from thy?? Also, Ames says hi :3
I feel like @amelie-isnt-french , my dear outlawfully wedded wife, just did the digital equivalent of dropping a surprise child on my doorstep
yk, I usually rather define my collective of characters as pathetic little white guys with questionable morals (though usually not, in fact, white) so this might deviate from what ames expects a little lol but anyway, have some pathetic wet cats:
- Hamlet
- I need to let Hamlet stand there on his lonesome but also Rosencrantz and Guildenstern as well as Estragon and Vladimir (waiting for godot)
- zuko (avatar the last airbender the cartoon, not the live thingie, I have not looked upon that and I shall not)
- batman. I shall not elaborate. Also I do wanna mention Jason Todd and Tim Drake, but batman’s the og wet cat. THE wet cat. They are all fine and in no need of therapy whatsoever.
- needles :) (the magnus protocol is a podcast distri—)
- Mr Darcy (Pride and Prejudice, another classic wet cat)
- Klaus (The Umbrella Academy)
- idk if this applies bc german but Adam and Leo from Saarbrücken Tatort.
- murtagh (Inheritance Cycle)
- ok listen he’s not a wet cat, really, but the dude from the Unwind Dystology. Ok so it’s not really about him at all, I just need people to read and talk to me about the Unwind Dystology.
- howl
- I just realised there is no women in this list but that makes sense bc it’s not that I don’t have any female characters I’m fixated on, they just are not wet cats, they can usually murder me :)
- Crowley (Good Omens)
- I really wanna include someone from Detective Conan/Magic Kaito in this but I am sightly hesitant to wholeheartedly name Kuroba Kaito/Kaitou KID a pathetic wet cat. i mean, he is but—
- also akai shuichi, the actual wet cat tm in DCMK
- i can’t decide on a single character but like, The Mechanisms’ discography is full of wet cats. Esp. High Noon over Camelot. Shoutout to my boy Galahad, too religious zealot to be wet cat but I need to mention him.
- the inspector from Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (I may have forgotten his name but he is wet cat okay)
- xiao (genshin impact). Also Cyno.
- that reminds me, gabimaru the hollow (hell’s paradise)
- honourable mention: Patroclus
ok you know what this escalated slightly

Kaito as the detective and shin as the Kid (shrinking optional)
(Send me an AU and I’ll tell you five headcanons about it)
Robin, you‘ve talked about how the Phandom makes you write like you‘re possessed, and I‘m starting to get what you mean. Literally nothing in DCMK comes to me without it turning into A Monster. Anyways, roleswap Kaito and Shinichi!
Ok so the thing is this could actually work with canon backstories. Kaito’s whole thing is about honoring his dad and catching the guys who killed him, which translates fairly easily into detective work—particularly if he doesn’t know about the Kaitou Kid bit right away. Shinichi is……a bit harder, but he canonically rolls with the weirdest stuff. If you get the right setup, him being Kaitou KID isn’t that much of a stretch.
I know it’s headcanon time but shhhh this is an interesting premise and I have to figure out how we got here.
Ok, so Kaito doesn’t always pick up nuanced crime scene clues, but he reads people really really well. So when he accidentally runs into Jii, and the mention of his father comes up, Jii winces, pained, and Kaito goes “what do you know you absolutely know something and I won’t drop this” and doesn’t let Jii rest until Jii admits that Kuroba Toichi was murdered. Boom, off we go. Nakamori Ginzo half-raised him ever since Toichi died, so it’s a reasonable jump to go straight into detective work. Kaito can’t always read a crime scene, and frankly, the bodies are unsettling to the point of nausea, but he sure can read everyone’s reactions to the body, and, well, some people are only pretending to grieve. What does this madlad do? Does he teach himself to carefully examine all evidence for clues? Well, yes, but that comes later. Right now, he jumps straight into impersonating the deceased’s voice and mannerisms and accusing everyone and, well, people do tend to have nervous breakdowns and confessions when suddenly confronted with their victim’s ghost. Good, Kaito thinks, remembering how much he’s mourned his father. They deserve it.
Off he goes. He’ll get more and more relevant information over time, but that’s about as slow-burn as canon. Meanwhile, he’s making a name for himself as a medium for the dead.
Meanwhile Shinichi’s come across the reports of Kuroba Toichi’s death, and, well, this is definitely a cover up. A few too-close runs later, he realizes it was a cover up from inside the legal system, and that those people are still very much in power. He has a crisis for all of like two days before realizing that Sherlock Holmes took a legally “flexible” approach to confronting in-house corruption, and, well, if Sherlock Holmes can do it then he can too. Sufficient off-the-record digging, plus talking with his dad (who is also, ah, legally flexible), brings up the whole Kaitou Kid thing and look, playing Kaitou Kid was supposed to be a one-time thing to bait people out of the woodwork, but one thing led to another, and here Shinichi is, moonlighting as a dead thief.
Shinichi isn’t more than competent at magic tricks, but he has a few things in his favor here. 1) both Agasa and Jii are helping him, and their team up is a force to behold. Jii keeps the ideas practical, and Agasa makes the ideas work. 2) Shinichi’s dad absolutely knew the last Kaitou Kid inside out, and he’s giving Shinichi helpful pointers. 3) Shinichi may not be good at doing magic, but he’s absolutely incredible at reading and anticipating the police, having a flawless alibi, and leaving no evidence on-scene. Plus, he’s still working his “day job” as a detective, so he also gets stupidly easy access to department gossip, security layouts, and other classified information.
Headcanon time!
Kaito has his beginning of canon meltdown of “EXCUSE ME, this thief is claiming to be the best magician around and he’s WRONG because my DAD was the best.” This is even more vehement because his dad is a more painful topic overall, given that he was murdered. That said, he’s not going to give this thief the time of day because he’s got more important things to do, like catch the murderers. However, Shinichi-in-disguise is casing a building when someone gets murdered there, and Kaito’s like “what is up with this guy.” Shinichi does pause and lend a hand when Kaito gets stuck, because murder is murder no matter what face he’s wearing. After the case is solved, Kaito’s trying to figure out who on earth this is when he realizes it’s Kaitou Kid. But the guy did just help solve a murder. And when he snarls that his father was the better magician, Kaitou Kid just bows his head and agrees. So Kaito has no idea what to make of this dude. Meanwhile Shinichi’s inner dialogue is just “it’s Toichi’s kid, does he know—NOPE HE SURE DOESN’T, UH, WHAT DO I DO??!”
Kaitou Kid respecting Toichi and admiring Kaito’s magic is a recurring thing, much to Kaito’s bemusement. Like. He can tell that it’s genuine, not a way to throw him off guard, although it’s sure doing that, too. One time Kaitou Kid pauses a heist to help with a case, which leads to Kid almost getting caught. Kaito’s still got a lot of complicated feelings around Kid, but it’s not fair that Kid’s getting arrested just because he had the decency to help stop a murderer. So Kaito covers for Kid with a rather good magic trick that “Kid” performs. Kid escapes, but not before giving Kaito the strangest layered look Kaito’s ever seen. He doesn’t even know what was in all those layers, just that there was a lot of grief and that there were upwards of ten layers in there.
Kaito and Shinichi catch onto each other faster than in canon. This is mainly because their weak spots are more obvious to an expert—Kaito’s definitely not talking to ghosts to solve cases, thinks Shinichi the Savior of the Police Force, and Kid’s definitely got a hidden agenda that’s only almost perfectly covered up, thinks Kaito the Undisputed Expert of Poker Face. Kaito has a very rough go of things when he finds out in rapid succession that 1) Kid’s trying to hunt down murderers via a system that might actually be stranger than talking to “ghosts,” 2) Kid’s looking for who killed Kuroba Toichi specifically, and 3) Kuroba Toichi was actually the original Kid. After that, Kid being a teenage detective is just—whatever. Sure. Why not.
There’s a huge police betting pool on what will happen when Kudou “everything has a rational explanation” Shinichi, and Kuroba “I literally talk to ghosts” Kaito meet. Everyone’s sure there will be conflict—people are just trying to work out how it will go down. Turns out that they get on like a house on fire, but to everyone’s great surprise, the houses they set on fire are all criminals, and they don’t try to set each other’s houses on fire at all. Except for Megure. Megure makes bank.
Turns out that when you have two detectives and two phantom thieves on hand, things get done with furious efficiency. Kaito and Shinichi take turns being Kaitou Kid, depending on whose skill set is most useful. Kaito’s better at dodging bullets and at doing insane magic. Shinichi’s better at forcing the snipers to reveal themselves and at getting the police to notice exactly the right things about the snipers. On a detective front, half the Organization’s convinced that 1) their dead victims are actively sabotaging them and 2) if their victims don’t get them, Kudou Shinichi certainly will.
Honestly, from an outside POV, the back third of this series would just be “there are GHOSTS and we are going to DIE and also reality is bending anytime Kaitou Kid shows up—“
RIP to all the undercover agents in the Organization. They’re about to have a Ride.

Ken ga Kimi Part 1 - Common Route
Tumblr media
Okay, curiosity got to me and I'm embarking on a very difficult journey! Basically, I'm playing Ken ga Kimi with my crappy Chinese lmao, and limited Japanese listening skills. I said it would be good for practising my Chinese but dang, I'm going to die with names etc haha. I have to write them down so I can refer to them loll. I'm learning stuff already though! I never realised what samurai was in Chinese. Reminds me of the days when I thought 火雞 was fire chicken, and I was like what is that new species of chicken??? And then I realised it was a turkey lmaoo. From what it seems to be showing, guess Tokugawa Iemitsu is evil🤔
Anyway, so Japan has two worlds? One (current world?) where humans, youkai and ogres (maybe better to just refer to them as oni) or something, this is the world that lives continuously in cycles, and there’s a continuous night world where time does not stop and is where the gods live? It's interesting to think there are five paths that connect the two together. Hmm it's interesting to think about a war between humans and oni (because there was a famine) where the humans actually won and kinda made a law that oni can't use katana anymore. Ooh this is the start of the Edo Shogunate~ But yeah anyway, at the same time since Japan was getting stuff like cannons etc, katana were starting to become a thing of the old days. However, due to the increasing amount of ronin, I guess they decided that samurai titles can stay I think, just so they'll stop complaining about the ban on katana? Anyway, the sword tournament sounds fun lol. Oooh, the winner can ask for anything they want. Mmm, they also get crowned as the "first sword", but I assume it means the ultimate sword or something, and they get one of the the legendary(?) five swords created by famous blacksmiths (assuming the sword "accepts" them and they can use it). And the ability to kill youkai? How interesting. Anyway I need to write down the names of these swords lmao. So, if they get chosen by the sword, a mark will appear on them after they receive the power to kill youkai with the gods' powers since it seems like the mark allows them to receive the gods or their powers into the swords or something.
Tsuzuramaru is much more adorable than I thought he would be. His appearance makes him look like such a cold guy but he's so funny to be starving to the point that he stole dango to eat that was an offering, and now he's planning to go to the sword tournament, and he's going to find whatever job he can get at Edo for living expenses. He seems like a good boy, even though he ran away from home haha. I really like Kei! He's pretty cool! Hmm, I guess he's some sort of patrolling officer that isn't officially employed by the shogunate but rather something more like a neighbourhood watch? He's really too nice to help out Saburouza to pay back 10 ryou so they won't take his daughter away. Regardless of how crappy it was of him to try and buy that paper to give him status as a samurai or whatever, the fact that something like that exists to be sold is a problem in itself. Btw I'm planning to do Kei's route first🥲 I wonder what kind of suspicious well-paying job will Kei end up doing, it seems like Kinshirou cares about Kei so hopefully the recruiter he introduces to him isn't terrible.. I've been reading a summary someone wrote of the story to know what the names of the characters are in Japanese hahaha! Also helps to see if I missed anything😆 So..the white hair dude is called Kuroba Saneaki and the girl(?) hovering around him is called Habakitsuki? Ohhh Habakitsuki is the "god" that dwells in the sword or whatever! I wonder why he wants to find his final resting place, does he hate himself for killing people? Sunpu seems like a painful place for him, since he considers it the place where he first cut an innocent person down. Hmm so Kuroba will be at this Tokugawa wedding parade as one of the escorting bodyguards I assume, and there's this Tatsukage guy (who is very pretty!) who is also trying to find a fake bride for the parade and I guess have her carry one of the five swords (Juzumaru) to maybe take it to Sunpu safely without people knowing hopefully? Hmm lazy hot red hair dude Enishi isn't my type, but I guess he seems interesting. Is Sakyou an oni? He looks scarily hot though😏 Suzukake on the other hand seems pretty cute. He has such nice friends watching over him.
Tumblr media
Ooh the heroine (Kayo) has finally appeared! Interesting that she looks the same as the lady getting married, so they want Kayo to act as the fake bride so they can protect the lady. It's really nice to see how protective Kayo's father is over her and how adamantly he refused the samurai guys considering how powerful they must be. Kayo trains with the naginata! That's cool! It's sad to know that her family has debts and it's a part of the reason why she's hesitating to reject the offer since the payment they'll give will help out their restaurant and the debt. It was inevitable for Kayo to join the wedding parade as the fake bride considering their lack of options and how much she cares about the people around her. It must have been tough for her father to accept that. I'm glad he could at least give her a handmade protective charm from her late mother to carry with her. Ooh are all the LIs part of the guards who will protect her? Suzukake and Tsuzuramaru together are so cute lol. Omggg Kayo in princess clothes is so pretty!!! I love it!! Hmmm, if they're transporting the Juzumaru sword alongside Kayo the fake princess, I'm surprised they got a bunch of randoms aka the LIs as bodyguards, but I guess they want to be inconspicuous? But then isn't it suspicious to have someone as important as the princess be protected by a bunch of randoms?
Tumblr media
Ooh, Tsuzuramaru knows battoujutsu and doesn't believe in killing. Will he be like my favourite Rurouni Kenshin? Hahaha. Kei's first impressions in the game were great, but dang does he sound insufferable when introducing himself to the heroine. I wish she could use her naginata to smack him. Lol at Suzukake calling Saneaki an uncle🤣 Oooh Suzukake is well-versed in medical treatment, he seems like a kind boy so it suits him~ The female ninja is Hanzo?! Ooh~~~ Aww, the merchant they saved rents books to others and wants to help commoners acquire more knowledge and have the chance to read books, it's such a great dream! I like him hahaha. Kei seems to like fighting🤔 Lmao at Suzukake saying he kicks people flying when he's asleep and tells them to dodge🤣 Not surprised Suzukake can see Habakitsuki, but yeah omg it's kinda funny how initially Suzukake was probably the one I was least interested in, but in terms of personality, I have to say I like him the most haha. Wouldn't it be so funny if Kayo fell in love with Hanzo out of everyone haha! Hanzo is so considerate, like I know she does it because any effects to Kayo's health could cause the mission to be jeopardised, but it's still sweet to see how thoughtful she is in preparing stuff like rice porridge for her because she has no appetite, and then lighting some white sandalwood or something so she can relax and sleep better. I love the banter between the guys, they're so funny, and lol Kei always ruins their fun but I can understand why he's so sick of them playing around all the time haha. I love how Tsuzuramaru sat down and shared the mochi with Kayo and even suggested Hayato (his messenger crow) to deliver a letter from her to her father so that she can at least tell him she's safe. I think that was very sweet and I'm glad she can finally feel a bit more comfort in regards to her father.
Tumblr media
Kayo being scared of the howling wolves and being alone was pretty understandable. It's difficult to be in her situation especially since she's always lived a normal life with her father, so it must feel really alienating. Even though Kei sounds harsh, I thought it was really cute how he pet her head to reassure her, and he listened to her worries. It was so sweet how she fell asleep on his shoulder listening to him talk. Aww, Tsuzuramaru waking up early just to apologise to Kayo and Hanzo for going into Kayo's room without permission was so endearing, he's such a serious guy. Considering how impatient Kei is all the time, it's nice to see his perspective (when you choose him to fight, it's like Pokemon lmaoo), especially seeing how concerned he is about bandits attacking them, and how if they kidnapped Kayo, she would definitely be sold to a brothel. When you think of stuff like that, you can see why Kei gets annoyed at how chill the others are talking about the food specialties of the region haha.
Tumblr media
Lolll if you pick Enishi to help you when the horse goes crazy, he literally sends the guards flying or something and they fall on his feet🤣 He really chooses to do things in the most dramatic way lol. Honestly, after Sakyo threateningly told Kayo to get herself together before they passed the checkpoint, I definitely don't want to choose him unless I have to lol. I know Enishi only really cares about Juzumaru but his care for it means he'll take care of Kayo well as long as she holds it. But dang when Kei said women should just shut up when he was arguing with Suzukake about whether Kayo should stay on the horse or not since the horse's hooves were hurting and she wanted to ease its' pain. I know Kei cares for Kayo but he really needs to pick better words loll. Anyway, both Suzukake and Kei's perspectives were understandable. For Suzukake who has lived around animals his whole life listening to them and understanding them, he obviously will treat them like himself, like humans because that's how they are to him. Whereas for Kei, his perspective is very "normal", back in the day, it was normal for people to just "replace" their horses at towns etc if the horses were to fall over and die from exhaustion etc, and obviously they must prioritise the safety of the princess above all, so Suzukake and them caring about the well-being of the horse would feel more "abnormal" tbh haha, but Kayo is a nice girl so she's going to walk. It's sad to see Asakura be so distraught about Tadanaga's death that even when some suspicious shaman lady with Marebito (some sort of god with varying beliefs depending on the region?) beliefs says that with the power of the Marebito, they can revive Tadanaga, he basically accepts it and hopes that it will come true because he thinks that Tadanaga is much more suitable than Iemitsu as a shogun.
Tumblr media
Ooh, so if people call for Marebito to come to this world, then the boundary between this world and the underworld will disappear and this world will be flooded with youkai? Loll I didn't expect Suzukake to be a troublemaker and try to pull Enishi's sword out. Hanzo is definitely the best!! Kayo didn't even say it and she already knew that Kayo was exhausted from being "Hisahime" and needed some alone time to walk around outside to kinda recharge herself. Gahhh, I really want to like Kei but he's so insufferable that even I feel like I can't breathe with him there because he's so exhausting lol. Kayo got permission from Hanzo and them to be alone for a bit and he's still so obstinate about it, like yeah I get it that he needs the money to help those people etc, but he really needs to give some consideration to Kayo if he really wants to protect her properly, like geez. I'm sure Hanzo is secretly guarding her anyway because I doubt they'd ever let Kayo truly be alone considering how important she is and how important Juzumaru is. At least Kayo is understanding and mature enough to apologise to Kei since she knows that their job is to protect her etc, but he should apologise to her too! I still can't remember everyone's names in Chinese so I didn't even realise I chose Sakyo to guard Kayo at night this time hahaha. He seems much more gentle than last time though, so I'm glad.
Lmao, I love all the stories accompanying the name of each of these mountain ranges or paths lolll. Especially the one where it's apparently so long that if you were carrying rice, your sweat and body heat would end up cooking the rice climbing up it loll. The bandits are oni/ogres?🧐 I'm glad everyone made it safely🥲 Kei is a tsundere and Enishi is the tsundere translator hahahah, I love how Enishi told Kayo that Kei only told her to hurry up and go sleep etc because he was concerned about her health and not because he thought she would be a bother to them. Saneaki is definitely strong but it sounds so ominous saying saving Nanae ended up causing huge problems in the future, now I'm scared😭 Otherwise, Saneaki was cool. Ooh so whoever's route you're on, they'll be the leader of the group and Kayo's bodyguard🧐 Kei is still pretty rough around the edges, but it is cute how he tells her to eat more and then piles up rice for her so she'll have enough energy for tomorrow haha. I'm glad Kei realised he was just about to leave the injured and scared Kayo alone and chase after Shiguragi (the oni guy who got his horn chopped by Saneaki) when he should be prioritising Kayo's safety.
Tumblr media
I didn't expect the journey to end by the start of Chapter 8! I'm so not used to Kayo in normal clothing lol! I think I'll miss it more than she does haha! Awww, Kei accompanying Kayo around town looking for souvenirs and then her accompanying him to the shrine was cute. Omg lmao, I thought a demon was attacking Kayo when she said she couldn't move, but her hair was just stuck on a branch because of the wind lol! Awww Kei is so sweet! It was kinda weird he wanted to go to a shrine but he actually wanted to go because he wanted Kayo to drink the water there since it brings good health and happiness. He didn't go there just because he heard the water tasted good lmao🤣 Okayy, I didn't expect Nanae to be the future wife of Tsuzumi, the guy who won the competition and will receive Juzumaru. However, he's planning to go to protect Choushichirou because he hates Iemitsu for cornering his brother to suicide and so he's decided to fight for Tadanaga... Awww Choushichirou is so cute!! Anyway, I guess it is kinda funny and ironic how Kayo and them went through much difficulty bringing Juzumaru to Sunpu and now Tsuzumi is taking it back to Edo with Choushichirou and the others.
And we're done with the common route! Overall, I really enjoyed the common route! I think it was really fun seeing all the different LIs and their personalities, and it's pretty fun to have them all on a journey together. Honestly, like Kayo, I miss that atmosphere already because I think it was really fun in its own way to see them banter about random stuff and food lol. I think the fights were also pretty cool, they're not detailed or anything but I enjoyed the different ways the LIs fight, and the different weapons they have. I also think it's interesting to see oni and humans, and how oni have been banned from using katana and stuff. I think the world is pretty interesting and I like that. As for the romance options, for now, I'd say my favourite is Saneaki and the rest are okay haha. I'm personally more interested in their stories and the plot rather than the romance so we'll see how everything goes! On to Kei's route!

Emogust - 07.08:  In which character A. is searching for a cat, and character B has found a cat around their windowsill // @sup-poki - A college!AU.
“What is that?”
Saguru squints across at his roommate, feels tempted almost to throw his textbook over at him, and decides against it. Kuroba is just being his strange self again, trying to distract him from his criminal law dissertation.
“I’m sure it’s very interesting,” Saguru sighs, trying to focus back on the legislation he’s researching. All very boring, important yes, but oh so very boring. He half considers procrastinating. “But not right now.”
“Oh please,” Kuroba says, “I’m pretty sure everything is more interesting that the legislation that’ll only be relevant to a single sentence of your report.”
Saguru hums. There are some interesting elements to researching his dissertation piece, but Kuroba is right that this isn’t really one of them. And it’s not even a major part of the research, just something he’s including because it will give him a higher grade.
Beside him, Kuroba shifts, unfolding himself from where he sits cross-legged on the sofa. He moves with a grace that Saguru catches from the corner of his eye, distracting in a criminal sense.
You know what, Saguru should probably be doing a dissertation on how his roommate is the Kaitou KID, there would be no shortage of articles and literature on the thief, and he’s got his own research he could add.
Then again, Kuroba would probably end up deleting his dissertation the day before submission if he did that, so… probably for the best if he doesn’t.
“I thought maybe it was a racoon, or a ferret,” Kuroba says now, and despite himself, Saguru glances up. He’s been successfully distracted. “But it’s a cat.”
Saguru lets out a sigh, pushes himself up, and follows Kuroba to the patio door that leads out to their balcony. It’s small outside, barely larger than a prison cell, but sometimes on hotter days, Saguru will study outside, dragging out one of the deckchairs from the cupboard.
“I’m sorry,” Saguru says, as he stares through the door – it’s opaque, and when he moves forward to unlock it, it slides open. “But do you even know what a ferret looks like?”
Kuroba huffs, crossing his arms. He says, “Out of the corner of my eye, it looked like it could be a very large ferret.”
“That doesn’t really answer my question,” Saguru says, and then, slipping his phone from his back pocket, he brings up a photo of said animal. Turning his screen around, he says, “That cat looks nothing like one of these.”
Kuroba does what he usually does whenever Saguru goes to show him something, and that’s steal his phone and swipe through the page without a care. Saguru rolls his eyes, steps out onto the balcony and glances at the cat.
“Ah, ferrets are kind of cute, aren’t they Hakuba?” Kuroba says. Saguru, feeling a headache coming on, decides to focus on their visitor instead.
Practically a bundle of fur, but almost elegant, the cat is easily recognisable as a Norwegian forest cat. Tufts of orange and brown fur mixed together against white fur, makes it look like the sort of pet someone would showcase in a pet beauty competition.
“Ah – Ah – Hakuba – look this one’s got a little hat on!”
Saguru takes a moment to glance away from the cat, offering Kuroba the driest look he can muster. It’s a mixture of exasperation and- nope. That’s pretty much it.
Let the man realise that even after all these years, even knowing that he’s capable of outrunning the police and committing crimes without being caught, Saguru still thinks of him as an idiot.
“You’re an idiot,” he says, just to make sure he gets it.
“How can you be so mean to me,” Kuroba says, “knowing that when you sleep each night, I’m only a room away?”
Saguru rolls his eyes. He turns back to the cat and finds himself squinting at it. Almost nervously, he reaches his hand out, as if questioning whether the animal will allow him to smooth it.
Glancing around, it isn’t too difficult to see how it got up here. Their apartment is on the first floor, so they don’t typically see anything other than birds up on their balcony, but there is a cherry blossom a little to the side of the apartment and it’s not impossible for a cat to climb to the edge of the branches and make the jump.
“Don’t be the demon roommate Kuroba, it’s too much of a cliché.” Kuroba huffs, and Saguru successfully places his hand against fur without having claws turned against him. The cat lets out a small purr, a low grumble and Saguru can’t help but feel satisfied by it. “Should we be looking for who owns this cat?”
He can practically feel the eye roll he receives. “Why do we need to search down the owner?”
“…Well, it could be lost, couldn’t it?”
“No, no,” Kuroba says, and now he moves forward, shuffling out onto the balcony as well, grabbing the back of Saguru’s shirt, dragging him backwards. “No, we’re not searching for the owner, it’ll find its way home eventually.”
“Wha–”
“We’re not doing this again,” Kuroba says, ignoring the incredulous eyebrow raise Saguru sends his way. “No – don’t give me that look. You know what I mean.”
Actually, Saguru doesn’t. He says as such.
“I refuse. Hakuba, dude, we go searching for the owner of this cat, and we’ll only meet someone who’s lost it. A weirdo, someone insane – deranged. Whatever. I’m not doing it.”
Saguru frowns. He says, “I think that’s a bit of a reach, don’t you?”
“Please,” Kuroba says, “it’s the truth.”
“No, you’re reaching.”
“Oh puh-lease,” Kuroba taps his fingers against his elbow, arms crossed as he shakes his head. “You haven’t realised? You attract crazy Hakuba, it kind of just flocks to you.”
Saguru frowns. He squints.
“I mean, I don’t really know why,” the thief continues, “but my working theory is you’re just so boring, that the crazies flock to you because they think you’re hiding some of it.”
“I don’t attract crazy people.”
“I mean, I’m your roommate,” Kuroba shrugs, scrunches his nose. “That’s one example.”
“You’re an anomaly in the statistics,” Saguru says. “And even then, you’re not crazy, you’re just…”
He doesn’t know what to say so he simply waves the man up and down. Kaito huffs again, breathing through his nose, the side of his lips moving up in a half-grin. More amused rather than annoyed.
“Uh, sorry,” – Kuroba snorts, lets out a low laugh. – “but you do. I mean, don’t you remember Yue-san?”
Saguru winces. Alright, so maybe Yue-san, the student they’d met during the previous years summer social had been a little insane, but they’d not known that at the time. And to be fair, the woman had hardly been crazy, just a cultist who was pursuing a sociology degree and…
Okay, no, yeah, considering the fact she’d tried to indoctrinate them both into her cult, it’d kind of be stupid to deny her… issues.
“Another anomaly.”
Kuroba groans. He sighs, goes to say something else, lips parted slightly for words when a knock echoes from the other side of the door. Saguru turns, arching his head back indoors.
“I’ll get it,” he says, because Kuroba is the kind of person who’d rather wait and say he’s not answering the door in case a murderer is on the other side. Which, well – there are so many issues with that.
“Hope you don’t die!” Kuroba says, which is pretty much confirmation that he isn’t expecting anyone.
Opening the door reveals a woman with deep, plum coloured hair. She looks concerned, worried, as she stands in front of him. For a moment, Saguru watches as she fiddles with the sleeve of her blouse and then, he blinks and reminds himself that he’s being rude.
“Uh,” he clears his throat, “hey, can I… help you?”
“Oh yes,” her voice is not hard, but there is a strictness to it, something that leaves him standing a little straighter. “Sorry, I don’t presume you’ve seen a cat around recently.”
Saguru blinks.
Well that’s easy, isn’t it. Now they don’t have to go searching for an owner.
“Ah, well, yeah I have actually.” He turns ever so slightly to look inside his apartment, to where Kuroba is now rubbing the belly of the animal in question. “A… Norwegian forest cat, yes?”
“This one?” The girl asks, and sure enough, when she shows him a picture it’s an exact likeness to the one on their balcony. “I’m quite worried about his absence.”
Saguru can understand that, how nervous someone can be when a cat is roaming around for a long time, without being seen. He says, “yeah, he’s uh – just through here. If you want to get him?”
She tilts her head, half agreeing, half thankful. Depositing her shoes by the entrance and continuing with just her socks, she waits until Saguru has closed the door and then, follows him to the balcony.
Kuroba glances up at the sound of their footsteps, and after the initial surprise at seeing a stranger in their apartment, he offers a smile. That polite one he practises for people he doesn’t know how to read yet.
“Ah, Hakuba, who is this?”
You know, maybe Saguru should have asked first. Oh well, no one ever said his social skills were very good.
“Oh, of course, I haven’t introduced myself,” she says, “my name is Koizumi Akako. It’s a pleasure to meet you – and you’ve met my cat, it seems.”
Eyebrows raised, Kuroba nods, turning back to the cat that’s nibbling now at his fingertips in an attempt to draw his attention back to him. He says, “Oh, this little guy is yours?”
“Indeed, he is,” Koizumi says.
She steps forward, scoops the furball up into her arms. The cat leans against her, immediately comfortable. It’s seems an odd sight to see – it puts up no argument, offers no movement, other than the slight curl of its tail, swishing back and forth beneath her arm.
“And what is this little guy’s name?” Kuroba continues.
Koizumi offers them a smile, soft and content as she glances down at her pet. She says, “this is Lucifer.”
Oh? What an original name.
Out of the corner of his eye, he can see Kuroba’s eyebrows fly up his forehead so quickly it seems almost like he’s waxed them off. It’s practically invigorating watching his roommate bite down his tongue in an attempt to not say anything.
“Is that so?” Saguru says.
“Yes,” Koizumi nods, adjusting her hand on the cat to scratch behind his ears. “This cat harnesses the spirit of the satanic majesty Lucifer himself. A drunken mistake made by myself, but we’re getting used to being roommates, I like to think.”
Kuroba jerks. It looks mildly, beneath the initial mask he wears around new company, like he’s in pain.
Maybe he’s having an aneurysm.
“But,” Koizumi continues, “he’s quite a docile little fallen angel as long as I give him tuna every so often, isn’t that right, Lucifer?”
Lucifer purrs.
Kuroba, predictably, jerks again. His lips force into a slightly larger smile than usual – it makes him look almost psychopathic, but hey, maybe it’s just because Saguru sees KID in a smile like that.
“He must love the tuna then,” Saguru says, and Koizumi nods.
“If you’ll excuse me though,” she says, voice lowering, “Lucifer and I should probably head back. We’re having a ritual dinner tonight, and I’d hate to be late.”
“Ah,” Saguru blinks. “Yes, of course. I’m glad we could – give you your cat back?”
Koizumi offers him a smile on her way out, her thanks slipping from her lips on her way out. Saguru closes the door after her and then, slowly turns around to face his roommate.
Kuroba looks almost like he’s waiting for something. He rolls his wrist, his hand waving in a way that urges him to speak. He says, “…well?”
“She seems nice.”
For a moment, all Kuroba can do is blink. Then, thrusting a hand out to point at Saguru, he says, “that’s what you’ve taken from this? She seems nice?”
“Well yes,” Saguru says, pausing. “What else am I supposed to think?”
“She’s – fucking crazy.” Kuroba lifts his hand, brushes it through his hair. It makes his hair even messier than it usually is. “She thinks her cat is the devil, and that she’s placating him by giving him fucking tuna, and all you can think of is that she’s nice?”
“I mean,” Saguru pauses, “I think a lot of cat owners say their pet is the devil.”
Kuroba takes a long breath, heaves it out with so much force that it feels like his body shakes from the pressure of it. He says, “I don’t know who’s more insane. That Koizumi girl for believing that, or you, because there aren’t any little alarm bells ringing in your head.”

The Blue Exchange (2/3)
Detective Conan/Magic Kaito: Hakuba Saguru, Kuroba Kaito, Nakamori Aoko, Baaya Blurb: Of all the things Saguru expected to find upon coming back to Japan after accidentally getting dyed blue while on a case in London, having Kuroba Kaito offer to help return his appearance to normal wasn’t one of them. Editor’s Note: Takes place after An Expression of Gratitude but you don’t need to read that fic to understand what’s happening in this one. Fic Type: General Overall Fic Warnings: Near Death Experience (mentioned), Death talk (mentioned)
Ao3 Link  FF.net Link Chapter 1
Despite spending the entire school day blending in with his equally colorful peers thanks to Kuroba’s antics, Saguru was more than relieved to slide into the back of Baaya’s car where the tinted windows gave him enough privacy that he could drop his careful, neutral, uncaring attitude and let out a long sigh, running his fingers through his blue hair.
“Long day, Botchama?” Baaya asked from the front as she turned on the engine.
“And getting longer.” He said, looking up to meet her concerned eyes in the rearview mirror. “I need to--”
“To go to Kuroba-kun’s home.” She said with a nod. “I do remember your call today at lunch.” She raised an eyebrow at him.
Call? He’d made no such call--Kuroba. Saguru exhaled, fishing his phone out of his pocket to check his call history. Sure enough, someone had used his phone to contact her in the middle of their lunch break. “Of course. Apologies, Baaya. As you said...it’s been a long day.”
She made a noise of concern, eyeing him. “Perhaps you should delay your meet up then until after you get some res--”
Saguru shook his head, slipping his phone back into his pocket and closed his eyes as he leaned back, relaxing as the car pulled away from the school. “I’ll be fine, Baaya. I’ve gone with less sleep before.”
And he had to admit, he was growing more curious. First the note. Now the phone call...a backup measure just in case he didn’t see the original message? Why risk it? Why be so---bold?
It didn’t make any sense.
Why would Kuroba want to meet with him? There had been no need---for well, any of this. For pretending that he was the one to dye him blue. For ensuring that Saguru wasn’t the sole focus of gawking stares from his peers for the day.
While it hadn’t been unwelcomed...it definitely was out of character for his KID suspect.
Especially when today could only be considered a small reprieve. He was still no closer to getting the dye out of his skin and with Kuroba periodically changing the rest of their classmates back to normal before school let out...it meant that tomorrow--
Saguru grimaced, fingers clenching on the seat as Baaya slowed at a light before turning right, taking them the opposite direction from their home.
Tomorrow he’d be the only one in his class still blue.
It probably would cause some raised eyebrows, but not much comment for maybe the next day or two. After all, Kuroba did target him with tricks and pranks that took time for him to get rid of.
But the longer he went without returning to normal...the more likely it would be that the truth would get out about--
“Botchama? We’re here.”
Saguru slowly opened his eyes, taking in the house before him, not at all surprised they’d arrived so quickly. He knew that Aoko-san and Kuroba walked to school, hence they would have to live close by.
But he, himself, hadn’t come here since he first pegged Kuroba as his most likely KID candidate.
Saguru had considered doing so after the incident at the heist where he’d ended up in a brief coma, but it hadn’t felt right to disturb Kuroba on his turf. Not when they weren’t quite...friends...and not quite enemies anymore either.
Baaya turned in her seat, giving him a studying look. “Do you need me to wait?”
Saguru glanced around the neighborhood to ensure no one was about before he opened the door. “I’m not sure how long I will be.” He said slipping out, offering her a tight smile. He didn’t know what Kuroba wanted with him or why he said to meet here. At his place. It was just...odd. Odd for his KID suspect. Kuroba had never wanted him near his house before. “I’ll give you a call when I’m ready.”
She nodded, a crease forming between her eyes as she looked to the house. “Do be careful, Botchama.” She cautioned.
“Of course.” He said, shutting the door, rubbing the scars on his right arm as he quickly headed for the front door before anyone could see his blue complexion, wary for any...traps that may be waiting for him.
Just because the house looked like any other normal home on the block didn’t mean it actually was safe for him to approach it in a normal manner.
In retrospect, Saguru exhaled as he paused on the doorstep. He had no idea if Kuroba was even home. After all, school had barely been out fifteen minutes, surely it wasn’t enough time for him to get--
The door opened just as he raised his hand to knock, revealing Kuroba already out of his school uniform and wearing a simple maroon long-sleeved shirt and pants.
Good news. Kuroba didn’t look surprised to see him. So he’d been correct in assuming the message and phone call were from him, though how he’d gotten home and changed so quickly was a question Saguru doubted the magician would answer should he ask it. Had he run? Left school early to hide any potential evidence?
Kuroba raised an eyebrow to Saguru’s hand before his eyes flickered to the street behind him, taking in Baaya’s car and the neighborhood before he took a step back, gesturing for him to come inside. “You gonna stand there all day like some sort of garden gnome?”
More good news. With his skin dyed currently as it was, there was no way Kuroba would be able to see him flush even though Saguru could feel his cheeks burning. “Are you actually inviting me inside?” He asked, dropping his hand. As much as he wanted to get out of sight--he couldn’t believe that his KID suspect was actually letting him enter his home like this.
Kuroba smirked, though his eyes held a careful caution to them, his shoulders a hair higher than they’d been seconds before. “Yes? It’s not like I have anything to hide from you Mr. Detective.” He said, turning his back on Saguru and heading deeper inside. “Don’t bother with the guest shoes though, I don’t need them changing colors.”
Saguru made a face, shutting the door behind him and toeing off his shoes before he cautiously followed his classmate deeper into the house. If this situation had occurred in the first thirty-six hours of him being rescued from the vat, Kuroba would have had a valid concern. But his clothes had stopped turning blue from the excess dye coming off his skin before the second day was through.
He’d expected Kuroba to guide him into the living room or else the kitchen where there would be less of a chance of him coming across anything incriminating, but the magician darted up the stairs with a simple “Come on,” tossed over his shoulder.
Saguru stopped at the bottom of the staircase, frowning as he looked about the house. Why did he feel like he was walking into some sort of trap? Surely Kuroba wouldn’t actually let a detective intent on catching KID into his inner doma--
“Dude, I don’t have all day. Get up here.” Kuroba’s voice echoed down the stairs.
“Forgive me for being skeptical of your intentions, Kuroba-kun.” Hakuba said, warily climbing the steps.
A soft laugh reached his ears. “Like I said, Hakubaka I have nothing to hide.”
So why invite him inside now of all times? Why not months earlier? Why not the first time he’d come snooping around? Saguru ran his fingers along the scars on his arm. Surely their talk at the ferris wheel hadn’t changed that much between them...right? While there had been miniscule adjustments in their dynamic since then, he hadn’t considered it enough to warrant this current meeting.
Unsure what to expect as he topped the stairs, Saguru paused once more, taking in the small details of a section of the house he’d never expected to see without a warrant.
Kuroba was waiting for him, leaning against the wall by a door that more than likely led to his bedroom. His arms were crossed, eyes intent on Saguru. “Alright, out with it. What actually happened to you?”
Saguru raised an eyebrow. All this intrigue...for a question? Kuroba could have asked him at school easily enough. “I thought that was obvious.” What wasn’t obvious was why Kuroba waited until they were upstairs to ask him.
Kuroba rolled his eyes, fingers twitching on his arm as he leaned forward. “Let me rephrase then, tell me how you ended up looking like a blueberry.”
Saguru grimaced, running a hand through his hair, careful to maintain eye contact with his classmate. It was probably only fair that he knew the truth, since the magician had covered for him at school today. Still… he didn’t like-- “While in London I was assigned to help the police there track down a man who was stealing recipes for creating certain specialized colors within a well known textile company.” He recited. “When I discovered the potential identity of the thief and that he was working at one of their factories I went and confronted him. He took off along the catwalks and I gave chase, but I--” Saguru broke eye contact, instead focusing on a small hallway table that held a vase of red roses. “I ended up falling into a large vat of cobalt dye when I rounded a corner too fast and fell over the railing.”
“You...fell.”
Again, Saguru thanked the Gods that Kuroba couldn’t see how red his face had to be getting. It was an embarrassing situation as it was. He didn’t really need to give his classmate more fodder for his teasing and pranks at school. “Yes and the thief shut the vat’s lid on me before I could escape.”
Complete darkness. Unable to get more than a tenuous handhold on a single weathered rung. His right arm still hadn’t recovered its full strength, even with the past couple of months of physical therapy, to be able to pull him up any higher to reach the lid and push it open.
He’d been stuck waiting, clinging to the side of the vat filled with dye. Waiting for the thief or a worker to turn it on and kill him from the heat without ever knowing he’d been trapped inside.
A shiver went down his spine. There had been no reason for the police to come looking for him there. Not with the walls of the vat too thick for him to be heard if he screamed.
He drew in a shaky breath. Yet...somehow, they had found him. “It took an officer fifty-three minutes to find me and help me out after they caught him.”
An officer he’d never gotten a chance to thank. Didn’t even know his name. Saguru had been too focused on grabbing the man’s arm and getting out of the vat and back to safety. By the time he’d recovered his senses, the officer had vanished and he hadn’t been at the police station when Saguru had come to file his statement and see the textile thief locked up.
“And I’ve looked like this ever since.”
Saguru flinched as Kuroba unexpectedly took his left arm, avoiding the right like he’d been doing since the accident at the heist.
He hadn’t realized the magician had moved closer to him.
Kuroba pushed up the sleeve to rub his thumb over his blue skin, a contemplative look on his face. “Textile dye huh.” He mumbled.
He knew that look. Knew what Kuroba had to be thinking. “It’s not like you can fix it, Kuroba-kun.” He said, shaking his head. Why would he even want to? “This isn’t like yours or KID’s dyes where a bit of baby powder, vinegar, or lemon juice will wash it all out.”
Kuroba smirked, tugging him towards the open door halfway down the hallway. “You already tried all that?”
“I’ve tried everything.” He said, following his classmate to what looked like an ordinary bedroom...with the exception of a giant portrait of a magician hanging on the wall. Saguru frowned, but tore his attention away from it to focus on Kuroba. Thanks to all the pranks he’d had to endure over the past year and a half from him, Saguru had quite the arsenal of potential fixes to try. “Nothing works, Kuroba-kun.” He pulled his arm free, gesturing to himself. “I’m still as blue as when they pulled me out and that’s been a week ago now.”
Kuroba rubbed his fingers together, a mischievous gleam to his eyes as he gave another not-quite KID grin. “Not everything.”

currently playing: Ken ga Kimi: conclusion
so. that’s all the six dudes. I can’t believe even someone with a limited skillz at the very least N4 level in listening and reading would even understand this game at all (since I failed miserably with Tengai ni Mau Iki na Hana). I would still rate this game to be 10/10 for being so interesting and with decent dudes. but I think the only complaint I have is the order of the dudes’ mystery. if I can go back, I personally would have played it this order of ‘wow he is what?’ ;
Kuroba > Enishi > Suzukake > Sakyo > Kei > Tsuzuramaru
bc, seriously, Tsuzu’s secret should have been the ultimate mystery, why are you making him the poster dude? don’t characters like that you save for the last? well not like I have any problem with it Tsuzu was a good boi I love him. also his routes is the least amount of sad.
though my personal fav boi would always be Suzu, the sweet baby. nobody tells me of his Bad End!!!!! I’m prolly never gonna go through them. my fav Kimi routes would be either Sakyo’s ends and maybe either Tsuzu or Suzu’s.
oh. I wanna complain about how terrible was the fate of Tsuzumi and his pretty wife, Nanae in some routes. they’re just innocent ppl got caught up in stupid shit why are you making them suffer????!!!!
next I’m probably gonna play Collar Malice. if anyone have another game title I should look out for, pls let me know. I’ll see if I can own & play them.

Brief Biography
I feel suuuper rude that this wasn’t my first post on this site? Like? Where are your manners, you weren’t raised in a barn? So lemme introduce myself!
Some things I’m being asked frequently and just some general little facts about me, I guess that this is the best place to put them., Since my profile is always being abused for updating-schedules and such things. Also, let’s be real, I’m incapable of ‘brief’ so get comfy guys.
First of all, I’m a girl. Woman. I think that with 25 - I’m 25, by the way, which probably makes me a grandma on the internet, doesn’t it? - I should probably start referring to myself as that. Meh. I’m a lady. There, so much better. Other titles I answer to include goddess, high priestess of Nicercy, queen or majesty. Really, I’m totally not picky.
I’m also a lesbian. Not sure why my sexuality matters, but I am being asked about it often. I’m also the kind of author who legitimately lays on her floor laughing whenever she gets anonymous flames about my stories “being sooo gay” and me being “sooo gay”. Like, lol, sure, those stories are literally two dudes kissing and fucking? Can’t get much gayer? And I’m a rainbow-wielding lesbian? Can’t get much gayer either? Was this stating of facts meant to insult me? I am confused?
My username means a lot to me. The magenta-colored fox on my avatar is Takara, my namesake. She is kind of my mascot. So you can find me under that username on all the sites I'm on - Takara-Phoenix on DeviantArt, Takara Phoenix on fanfiction.net, Takara_Phoenix on AO3.
I’m from Germany, as those of you who are more closely familiar with my stories probably already know becuase I like to slip some German into my stories when the opportunity comes up.
I’m a poor little college student on her way to become a “high school” teacher (air-quotes because German school DOES NOT RESSEMBLE HIGH SCHOOL. What the fuck is wrong with the American school system. When I was a kid in elementary school, I was fucking terrified about secondary education because of high school TV shows and movies with all the bullying and the separation into “cool” and “uncool” groups and the clubs and that cafeteria thing with the traumatizing food and jocks and cheerleaders! We also don’t have things like multiple choice tests and high school lasts 8 years here if you do it right, so there’s that too).
I’m neither a cat-person nor a dog-person. I’m a bunny-person. Seriously, show me pictures of your cat and dog, I will be bored and annoyed, but if you gimme a floppy-eared little ball of precious fluff with its wiggly nose and I will swoon and fawn over it for hours.
Literally everything I own is purple. From the paint on my walls to my curtains and chair and pillows and blankets and glasses and even my damn laptop. If it’s purple, chances are I’ll pick it up or buy it. I think that’s why I relate to Percy Jackson so well, because of his obsession with blue. I’m just a little more hardcore than him.
Let’s move on to random favorites of mine, just because I like listing those kinda things.
Top 5 favorite pairings:
Favorite gays: Nico di Angelo/Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), Shere Khan/Bagheera (Jungle Book), Hiccup Haddock/Jack Frost (How to Train Your Dragon/Rise of the Guardians), Roy Harper/Dick Grayson (everything DC-related, I’d also retcon Dick into the Arrow-verse), Kurt Hummel/Noah Puckerman (Glee)
Favorite lesbians: Elphaba Thropp/Galinda Upland (Wicked), Regina Mills/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time), Tenho Haruka/Tsukino Usagi (Sailor Moon), Cat Grant/Kara Danvers (Supergirl, Arrow-verse but honestly I’d take it everywhere DC-related), Shego/Kim Possible (Kim Possible)
Favorite straights: Oliver Queen/Felicity Smoak (Arrow-verse, but I’d retcon her into literally everything DC-related for the sake of Olicity), Hades/Persephone (everywhere; Percy Jackson, Disney, myths, Class of Titans), Discord/Pinkie Pie (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), Clark Kent/Diana Prince (the DC animated movie universe, but really retconned into EVERYTHING DC), Ladybug/Chat Noir (Miraculous Ladybug)
Favorite threesomes: Magnus Bane/Alec Lightwood/Jace Wayland (Shadowhunters), Mick Rory/Leonard Snart/Barry Allen (Flash, Arrow-verse, but again everywhere DC please), Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers/Tony Stark (MCU, Avengers Assemble, but really everywhere Marvel), Shiro/Keith/Lance (Voltron: Legendary Defender), Hakuba Saguru/Kuroba Kaito/Kudou Shinichi (Detective Conan, Magic Kaitou)
Favorite characters:
Male: Captain Jack Harkness (Doctor Who), Jace Wayland (Shadowhunters), Nico di Angelo (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians), Tony Stark (MCU, Avengers Assemble, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes)
Female: Elphaba Thropp (Wicked), Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter), Felicity Smoak (Arrow), Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones), Janet van Dyne (Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, THE MCU WHERE SHE AND HANK SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN INSTEAD OF SCOTT LANG AND FUCKING USELESS HOPE VAN DYNE)
Favorite shows:
Life-action: Buffy, Relic Hunter, Doctor Who, Once Upon a Time (the show ended with the season 6 finale though), Shadowhunters
Cartoon: Disney’s Jungle Cubs, Disney’s Recess, DreamWorks’ Dragons, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes
Anime: Sailor Moon, Haikyuu!!, One Piece, Kekkai Sensen | Blood Blockade Battlefront, Magic Kaitou/all Detective Conan episodes with Kaitou KID
Favorite movies:
Anastasia, Rise of the Guardians, The Road to El Dorado, FernGully, Mulan
Favorite books:
literally everything Gregory Maguire writes, the Alice in Wonderland series (meaning the first two books by Lewis Carroll and the third book written by Gregory Maguire for the 150th anniversary of Alice), the Bartimaeus series (written by Jonathan Stroud), the Wicked-series (written by Gregory Maguire), the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (written by Rick Riordan, not including the sequels), and I swear I’ll get around to finishing The Mortal Instruments at some point too
I feel like that sums me up pretty well and I also feel like this is already way too long for a “brief” intro to who I am. I really need to learn how to keep things short. And if you read all the way up to this point, congratulations and damn I am concerned about how bored you must have been...

Moving blogs + a reflection essay
tl;dr -- I’m moving my main blog. Because lots of my views on life have changed, my life has changed, and obviously my tastes in fandoms have changed. I’ll put the URL here later once I’ve made it. To see how I got to this position and where I am now, keep reading ^w^
Note: This is just my own opinion as to how I’ve seen Tumblr over the past few years.
Well, it’s the start of a New Year. I haven’t been active much in 2017 but I’ll try and be active this year. Thanks to all the people who’ve helped and supported me this year and the following people who have made my life on Tumblr : *a list of people I rarely talk to anymore*
....Is what I would have said perhaps a year or two ago. I’m still glad I’ve joined this site and had conversations with some KnB fanatics like I was. However, I haven’t talked to them in a year. The only people I usually talk to on this site are basically nonexistent. I mean my friends from high school technically, but I talk to them irl during classes and lunch. The truth is that I have not been active on Tumblr for the past year. And my activity on the site was starting to wane in 2016 as well when I accidentally deleted my main blog last year when I was actually trying to delete a side blog I was working on. But that’s besides the fact as to why I’m moving. I’ve changed quite a bit since 2014 when I first joined Tumblr. My views of the world have changed, my life has changed, even the tiniest things such as my fandom tastes have changed. Because of this change, I’m moving to a new blog. Since you’ve decided to keep reading, I’m going to write a long detailed essay about the three things that have changed with me: my taste, my views on the world, and my life in 2014. You have the complete freedom to click out anytime ^w^
The fourteen-year-old me has a different shit taste in anime than the shit taste I have in anime now. Obviously, no one person can stay the same. If you’ve reblogged the little posts I’ve reblogged from other blogs (try saying that five times lol) notice how there’s barely any Hetalia or Kuroko no Basket or Haikyuu for that matter. Even when I’ve been active for the past few days, it’s been more positive posts, memes, and occasional anime of Hero Aca and such. So really if you want to know what I’m into at the moment, it’s Honeyworks, Hero Aca, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April), food, study things, any Makoto Shinkai film (doesn’t have to be Your Name but it can be) and always memes. And getting off from the high of finishing Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, I’ll be looking for that too. Also, notice the decline in squealing yaoi fangirl that used to squeal in the tags section about two dudes cross-dressing. Ah, yes. The Hetalia days of where I’d ship APH America with everyone and just had a huge obsession with APH America. The title of my blog (on mobile anyway) is still a quote from the dub haha.  To be fair, that squealing, yaoi fangirl did have a brief revival when Yuri on Ice was still airing. I still have a soft spot for the anime as it was very good (and still is, Phichit will forever be an angel) and I absolutely LOVE Makkachin still. But for the most part, I have mostly lost the whole yaoi fangirl that I once was in Freshman year of high school who still loved shipping countries together. Why I deviated from Hetalia is another post unto itself.
I mentioned how I haven’t been posting a lot of kurobas lately. Yes my interest has waned in the show, but I still appreciate what it’s done for me in my high school years. I still have a quote from Aida Riko back in the earlier chapters of the manga hanging on my wall as I work on homework: “I want you to have a big concrete objective and the will to achieve it.” I won’t deny, KnB really helped me set the mentality I needed to tackle high school -- to keep pushing myself to become a better person. Whether I fulfilled that expectation or not is debatable. But as always, the inspirational quotes of KnB will undoubtedly carry me onto college too.
Now don’t get triggered when I say that Tumblr can really take leftist ideology to the extreme. It’s definitely right to treat everybody equally no matter their skin color, gender, sexuality, shape, size, disability, etc. Basically, everyone deserves to be treated equally. That’d definitely fine and it’s the right way to live life after all. However, it first hit me in Junior year that Tumblr was getting annoying. The whole “the straights are terrible” and “white men should burn in hell” preaching gave Tumblr the black and white views of the world without any grays (or greys however you spell it) in between. Now I’m a straight CIS female. I’ve got good friends who are asexual, bi, lesbian, etc. I will say this, but I doubt it will be heard by the screams of hate against a straight CIS gender like myself: I DON’T CARE WHAT YOUR DAMN SEXUALITY OR GENDER OR COLOR OR WHATEVER IS AS LONG AS YOU ARE A NICE PERSON! If you are a trans, gay Hispanic (an example, not pointing you out) who treats other people terribly, that means I will flip you off and beat your ass (to some extent of this statement). Not all straight people are bad and not all gays are good and it goes for every demographic that exists ever.
Though it may seem that I am blaming all of Tumblr for acting this way, I am. But I can’t forget that I too, once had a black and white view of the world. As a fourteen-year-old who was very much shielded from the world because of a private Catholic school with conservative parents who are very well off, I had an inkling of what the rest of the world was like. And I feel like the people on Tumblr were just as uneducated about the world as I was. By no means do I know everything about the world now. A seventeen-year-old who hasn’t even finished high school will never know how the me from four years from now feels. I am just saying that my opinion from leaning so far left a damn tree would break has become more moderate. This website made me think: gosh being straight and CIS is uncool and being a normal functional being with no anxiety or depression isn’t normal too. I need to be bi and genderfluid! That was stupid thinking. Right now, I’m completely fine with being a straight, CIS female with no mental illnesses such as depression or anxiety who will gladly respect your pronouns.
Now life is really crazy. It was crazy in 2016, and it was crazy in 2017 too. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned that I’m from Las Vegas, Nevada now did I? Times have changed man. I don’t think I would have said that when I was 10 on a website lol. But yeah if you’ve somehow been scrolling this far down I commend your efforts. And I’m sure you’re getting really strained rn. So get some water, take a break, I’m sorry if you can’t get to a laptop or computer right now. Don’t read this in one go. If you’ve returned or decided to read straight on through welcome back or good for you respectively. Now I’ll repeat that again. Yes, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Right where Stephen Paddock decided to shoot from the 37th floor of Mandalay Bay onto the Route 91 Harvest Festival where over 500 people were wounded and 50 people were killed and where three students from my school were at on Sunday night (they were unharmed physically I believe). I found this out when I was tucked in bed at home, far from the strip checking my friend’s snapchats before I fell asleep. For the largest mass shooting in modern US history to take place in an area where my family would take our extended family to dinner or where we once had a New Years Eve celebration at the Vdara, is sickening. My cousins and I used to go to Mandalay Bay and hang out at the pool and stay the night because it was Spring break back when we were in middle school. My mom’s 40th birthday was at the Mandalay Bay. It’s terrible. I know how those people in Orlando and Colorado and everywhere else in the world feel when a mass shooting happens and completely disrupts your life. I’ve barely even been to the strip this year. The fact that a terror attack happened in my own backyard is beyond words. It makes me angry that some bastard decided to fuck up the lives of everyone in my city by ruining a good time at a concert. It makes me sad when I read a Washington Post later about a group of girls who went to a Lutheran school were affected by this event mentally and some even physically by this event. And that in turns makes me pissed off that some dude ruined the lives of teenage girls exactly like me, who were worried about the SAT and ACT and AP Classes and college. Fuck him.
So that’s my feelings on the shooting a few months late. But remember that I live in Las Vegas. You can’t just forget a mass shooting that happened in the city you live in. I’d mention how people would disagree with me that other events on the strip have happened such as a robbing at the Bellagio (it’s always the Bellagio man! That’s my fave part of the strip with the dancing waters and the seasonal garden inside like man they don’t deserve that) and etc. but feel free to disagree with me when you submit an ask dear anon.
Now on a somewhat lighter note, high school will forever be stressful. Going to the best high school in the state is stressful when all your friends have a nonstop grind to be one of the valedictorians (apparently you can have more than one?? I had no idea until I went to high school). Though I am nowhere near becoming a valedictorian, I still have plans to graduate with high honors ( wearing white for graduation) because half of the people graduating will wear white because it’s a magnet school dammit we’re kinda smart. AP classes have been part of my workload since Sophomore year which is right when I deleted my blog, but I managed to keep my activity up somewhat. Junior year slumped in my activity big time. APUSH is hard you guys. That’s it. I believe I posted a reflection at the start of 2017 detailing a bit more of this. But the difference this year is that I’m a senior in high school. That means college and scholarships. As I’ve mentioned before, I live in Nevada. I either stay in Las Vegas and attend the university there or I head up to Reno, which is like a 6-hour drive from home or just an hour flight. That means living in a dorm away from everything I’ve known. And that includes my boyfriend.
The biggest change in my life between Freshman year and now is that I’m taken! And honestly, it was the biggest fucking plot twist of 2016 (and the largest failed segway of 2018 thus far). I’m dating the largest weeb at my school ever and I’m happy dammit. Most of the time. I’ve learned a lot from being in a relationship like how to shut the fuck up and listen and appreciate more in life. By no means was my relationship perfect either. We’ve had a lot of fights. I’ve mentioned this in my reflection of 2016 at the start of last year so the rundown is that we’ve been together a year and a half now. I’m in a healthy relationship. Then college comes in and says hi. Now my boyfriend has decided to go to the university here in Las Vegas. I’m still very unsure as to where I want to go next. After all, the decision as to where to continue my education lies with me and I’m running out of time (I’m procrastinating on the decision right now lol). Four years ago, I had dreams of going out of state to either a UC school or the United States Airforce Academy in Colorado, until I learned that school outside of my state is expensive so I decided to stay within the confines of Nevada.
And honestly, that’s where I’m at right now. Thanks for reading this long ass rant. I spent an hour or two typing this up. I just have a lot of feelings haha. I hope everyone has the best year ever. If this is after I’ve posted my new URL, go follow me there. But for now, thanks for all the support thus far and especially for reading this long ass rant. See you!

Some thoughts on Kagami Taiga: Ch. 31
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll never know if Fujimaki really had a natural talent for retconning (read: bullshitting his story along the way), but the fact that so much of what Kagami is expressing here can be translated to things he must have felt at some point while growing up pretty much alone makes these two pages hit so hard in context.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't keep relying on Kuroko and the others.
Until I can win without their help.
Until I can win all on my own!!
All these are sentences that could exist in any other context of life and it makes you wonder, truly, how many times has Kagami have had these thoughts before, just for different reasons?
But the most interesting part to me is how up until this point in his life,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kagami sees relying on others as an inherent sign of weakness.
The fact that he couldn't have managed on his own, that someone else's presence was needed for him to sort out the challenge that life put in front of him? It didn't make him feel connected, it didn't make him feel like he finally had someone he could fall back on if he ever needed to.
The first thing Kagami did after winning against Kise with Kuroko's help was training. Focusing on getting stronger—strong enough to not need Kuroko's help anymore when next time came around.
Because having—no, needing that help made him feel weak. It made him feel not capable enough.
Not capable of sorting obstacles on his own, of facing challenges on his own, of surviving on his own.
And that, coming from the kid that had to learn so young to cook for himself because mom is gone and dad is at work and he can't keep relying on others because what if one day he doesn't have dad anymore either?
That hits hard to read.

no cuz this is so many levels of unfair
cuz why is fujimaki drawing mibuchi like this (when he's supposed to be uber-pretty and this does not do any justice to that)
Tumblr media
then RIGHT NEXT TO HIM
Tumblr media
drawing nebuya like the most handsome man that earth could witness with its eyes
what kind of pretty boy discrimination is this
(it's the fujimaki kind)
