Anyways, it's time for a brawl, Chihiro vs Hiyuki

(in respect to the ambiguity regarding Hiyuki's gender, I will be they/them pronouns until the manga refers to them directly as a man, woman, or neither)

God, Hokazono-sensei's an excellent artist, it's wild that he's young enough for us to have gone to high school together.

The fight scene is absolutely amazing, Hiyuki and Chihiro trade blows easily, and when Chihiro finds an opening, turns out Hiyuki was bluffing him!

However, he outsmarted their outsmarting, and goes in with Enten!

I think i hauve covid.

The fight ends in a draw, sorta, with Hakuri "saving" Chihiro by passing out at just the right time.

I suppose we'll save that rematch for later, because the Rakuzaichi auction is coming up, and both Chihiro and the Kamunami will want to get their hands on one of the loose Enchanted Blades. Maybe He'll come to blows with them again, maybe they'll team up against Hakuri's evil patriarch. Who's to say?

So just talking a little more about Kagurabachi, something I really appreciate is Hokazono Takeru's dedication to going all-in on action sequences, even when the antagonist is "only" a bunch of no-name mooks meant to get one-shot. Like, here:

It's not even necessarily the competence of the goons here - they still go down in one hit. But Kagurabachi is really good about treating even these battles with "fodder" as an opportunity to show off not just Chihiro's skills, but the artist's as well.

MY HEART??? i haven't been reading the manga for long like literally started this month but hakuri deserves so much better. his dynamic with chihiro is SO 😭

chihiro giving up enten for hakuri bc hakuri is worth more than a tool, bc he's a person and no person belongs in a VAULT FOR INVENTORY like. mr. sazanami i get that you did that to protect your children. but wtf is wrong with you.

i know that it was chihiro's plan all along to have enten infiltrate the vault or whatever but. HE STILL DID THAT FOR HAKURI.

i need his thoughts on hakuri's family life, him and shiba and char. cuz like. dads who have secret vaults which determind how they treat and protect and value their children, including the legacy they teach them,,,,

i want non-kagurabachi readers to know that the protagonist can't hit that pose that got memed to hell and back anymore, because he lost his right arm in chapter 17. a true loss for the people
