ok, how about i talk just a bit about it?

"it" being...

YOUTUBE ANIME!

i'll talk a bit about youtube anime i like! this is not as fleshed out as i can make it, sorry

strap in, we're going down the youtube anime rabbit hole! or should i say... down the Plott hole?

youtube anime, as a genre, is simply low budget anime on youtube. these are NOT the same as a tv anime, and could be described as ONAs. they are also commonly called web anime

youtube anime tends to have either fully original characters, or are adaptations of existing manga or other properties, which makes them unique from other types of trend-hopper channels in this vein.

they have a unique aspect, in that they hop on pop culture trends that are current with kids in japan, so you can learn a lot about what's popular with kids overseas and what trends did make it over there

they also just have a lot of bizarre and unique content trends compared to english sphere channels, like the "trapped in a transparent house" trend, the "handcuffed together for 24 hours" trend, and the "yandere love potion" trend

there is one specific one of these that i am totally, truly, deeply obsessed with, and the manga it's adapting, but i'll dig my grave and lie in it when it's time.

but anyways, there ARE trends that overlap with english ones!

long lost twin siblings, turning into a dog or a cat, child characters growing up, adult characters aging down, all the characters being in school together, etc, etc.

now, you know how content farms will have bizarrely placed sexualized content? youtube anime has that too...

ECCHI FANSERVICE STYLE!

yeah, youtube anime is a concentrated dose of ecchi fanservice bullshit for clicks. this does include some uh, questionable content with underage characters and "pervy kid" tropes. any issue you can think of with the current state of the anime industry's various types of shows, youtube anime cranks it up to 100.

it is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY rare for a youtube anime series to have english content. most prominent ones right now don't even have english youtube ccs.

this is mainly, to my understanding, because the market is very niche and not quite yet large enough for the money spent on english content to be worth it.

that being said, my FAVORITE english content youtube anime is the dub of "Grim Reaper Flag-chan", also known as 全力回避！フラグち��ん or Zenryoku Kaihi! Flag-chan. this was discontinued in favor of english CCs on the main japanese channel

it's about the "Flags", girls who are classified as shinigami or angels who appear to collect certain "flags" triggered by the horrid excuse of an npc training dummy, mobuo. think visual novel route triggers, that's what the "flags" are.

if you want a good english version of a youtube anime, i'll direct you towards teikou penguin's short-lived english chanel

this one did NOT end in favor of english CCs on the english channel. this one just suddenly stopped posting with no explanation

if you go watch teipen, there's something i need to explain because it's a bit lost in translation. "black company" is a literal translation, it's a term that means more accurately "evil/shady/illegal company". basically a corrupt workforce that discriminates heavily against it's employees.

i may delve into this more when more english content for these channels exists, but right now, not much is here. i'd need to translate a lot of things myself to show my followers.

but, someday. i'll talk about the one i'm insane for.

as edmond honda took steps towards the entrance of the village, he saw the glamorous candles lightened up as he stood by. the sumo wrestler called and it echoed. you can tell that he’s looking for his husband to talk to and spend time on. since his chanko restaurant is closed, he decided to call kaihi for the teleportation. “dhalsim-kun? i’m here!”

with elephants sleeping and resting in the temple, dhalsim raised his head and smiled at his husband. “come, my darling. i have lots to tell you about!” the yoga master spoke as edmond runs towards him. “tell me about everything! i love hearing you talk.” the sumo wrestler sat down in the middle of where dhalsim was as they kissed each other together. “my darling. the students are doing wonderful! one of them finally learned how to stretch their limbs! i feel so proud of myself.”

“oh my, dhalsim-kun! that’s very wonderful!” the sumo wrestler smiled. “one student has finally gotten mastery! i bet yours have it too.” dhalsim shook his head. “not yet, my darling. if they keep up, they’ll finally have the path to yoga. datta would be so proud as well!” he stopped levitating as edmond gave his husband a kiss in the cheeks. “keep going and they’ll finally have the mastery from you. anyways, do i still have time to meditate with you?”

“as always, my darling. let’s take your breathing first as we begin our class.”

SUMMARY ; the fierce kappa edmond honda meets the undead warrior of the kumar dynasty and discovers who they are .

AU ; halloween au

on a dark silent night, the fierce kappa walked over the forest where he usually takes his walk around to take his eyes out on the world. he was never curious, but he could do anything to hunt them down if they ever messed around with him. the sumo wrestler edmond honda listened to the leaves moving around the tree, breathing throughout the air of the human world in japan. he would take aback whenever he alerts himself for flesh. no cannibalism to look for, but to kill them and rip their bodies down.

someone behind him would take a look at the beautiful features of the world, and shimmering golden bracelets would cling together. just a wrapped-up invisible man, honda can hear the golden bracelets and strange sounds. he can’t handle it anymore and is tired of being followed around during his walk.

“show yourself!” honda looked behind and went to his sumo stance. after a single stomp on the ground, edmond grumbled and looked around.

“c’mon, human!” he called. “i’m not afraid of any hunters. so come out and show your face!”

there was complete silence and the wind was slowing softly like a cooling breeze.

“you wouldn’t want to mess with me, kappa.” a strange voice echoed.

the rikishi turned around from the voice in his ears. is it all just a delusion? who is he talking with? edmond honda then crossed his hands.

“oh really? come out and let me take a look at your skin,” he called.

“then you’ll be afraid, kappa.” it touched its own wrapped hands like a prayer.

honda sighed. “just show yourself before i drown you in the lake.”

“oh well, you caught me, kappa.” it giggled. “but i warn you that i can breathe fire to burn yourself out.”

the kappa went to his fighting stance, preparing for a fight against the strange creature taking a look at the forest.

the wrapped flying man looked and flew his steps and revealed to be a beautiful mythical mummy. orange clothing, multiple necklaces, along with a dark orange coat and indigo turban, the mummy looked at the mythical kappa. he smiled and took a glance at edmond honda. his body is so invisible that he wrapped his body as his undead fate.

“now, do you still recall killing me, kappa?”

“you’re a mummy…” edmond remained surprised and scratched his back. “i don’t think it’s possible to kill you.”

“exactly, because i am undead.” he replied. “do not be afraid, i’m only here for a walk in the woods.”

“what’s your name exactly?” honda asked.

he flew closer to the kappa, smiling. “i was the greatest warrior of the kumar dynasty, call me dhalsim.” he took a closer glance at the kappa and looked at the beautiful features of the creature. “my, what a beautiful shell. what’s your name, kappa?”

he crossed his hands. “call me honda… or edmond honda if you must.”

“i think edmond suits you, kappa.” he flew around while taking more closer look at his green amphibious skin. “such wet textures, with beautiful shades of green.” he giggled.

“quit staring at my skin, mummy. you may have heard of the japanese folklore. you know who i am.” edmond sighed. “i’m dangerous.”

“that’s why i come to look for one to see on my two naked eyes, kappa.” dhalsim stopped and flew his steps backward. “and you’re a sumo wrestler? yokozuna or ozeki?”

“i’m an ozeki. i’m out there eating five meals and training myself for years to become stronger! i’m the best around the sumo heya!”

“mmm..” dhalsim hummed calmly. “and why would you ever call me a hunter?”

“we kappas kill humans and hunters. it’s usually how it goes in the japanese folklore. although i’m always never like that unless they mess with me. i’m just an honorable kappa who hates indecisions.” edmond responded. “i do have a few human friends like kaihi and arcindina.”

the mummy smiled and looked into his eyes. “you seemed like a very nice kappa who isn’t evil. i bet your human friends don’t mess with you all the time.”

“yeah, it’s always been like that.” edmond smiled back. “they come into the lake every thursday, they have work before visiting me.”

“that’s good.”

after a moment of silence, edmond crossed his hands again and took a glance at the mummy. “honestly, you seem like a very nice guy. i might have to take my leave before daddy finds out i’m not there.”

“want me to take you home?” the undead mummy asked.

“sure, i’ll take the lead.” the kappa replied before walking.

after a nice walk back to the lake, exiting the forest, edmond stopped and took another glance before getting back inside the water.

“will we see each other again soon, dhalsim?” he asked.

“maybe. i’ll always catch you by surprise when you get back to the surface, or the forest.” dhalsim replied. “now get back before the hunters find you.”

“well then, see you soon.”

“may we meet again, kappa.”

- while i had my punishment due, i had the worst summer, it’s ruined by my whole family. i tried my best to make them happy is to end my whole life, just to make them happy.
