Magical Girl Series!!

This is a comic I started on paper for my sister ( @whats-wrong-aniki ) and to practice my drawing style a couple years ago. I ran out of ink on my pen on the last page, and somehow lost all motivation to keep going. It might not be interesting or easy to read on my tumblr but it is an au and has a storyline I particularly liked, so I figured I should at least show it to you all, whomst’ve I love.

Context: inspired by That anime of boys transforming into magical girls to fight(never actually seen it). In this comic, Killua and Gon are genderbent to be magical girls while they’re boys when untransformed. There’s some ocs and storylines I had but forgot (also why i am not going to continue it).

Hello!!! Could share some thoughts or posts about Killua's electricity? I know that he suffered electric torture, but I remember him thinking during that countdown that he came up with Godspeed for Gon as a support, not for himself (they're in love your honor). In the anime, Raijin and Fujin are showed while the narrator explains his abilities. So I'm thinking if it holds any more meaning...

As for Raijin and Fujin, you’re right, I never noticed actually but it is imagery used in the manga too!

I honestly don’t think it has any particular meta meaning or symbolism. It’s most likely imagery used to reinforce the idea of two complementary abilities : speed of lightning, associated with electricity and therefore Raijin, and whirlwind, associated with wind and therefore Fujin. Godspeed in japanese is written using the kanji for gods, 神 and fast, 速, forming 神速, meaning “great speed” but pronounced kanmuru in HxH to emphasize the “gods” aspect. So I’m guessing the use of Raijin and Fujin imagery is meant to further highlight that idea of something linked to the gods, as Raijin and Fujin are gods of weather, associated with wind and lightning. It’s highlighted that Godspeed has a wind aspect and a lightning aspect, so I’m pretty sure that’s why Raijin and Fujin are represented here, without any particular deeper meaning.

However, Raijin and Fujin were born from Izanami’s decaying corpse when she was in Yomi... And I did write a post on Yomi because the Zoldyck Mansion is compared to it, and Gon’s rescue mission somewhat echoes Izanagi’s quest to get Izanami out of Yomi. I doubt there’s too much lore on Raijin and Fujin that’s echoed in Killua, but it’s still an interesting idea that might be worth exploring!
