I… I did terrible things to my friend
She tried to help me, but I was running away, waving her off and ignoring her
I was just relieved when he turned to her
I know it's unpleasant.
But it always hurts
もう違う学校だし
会わないと思って
今更「ごめん」とか私バカだ
虫が良すぎ
I'm in a different school now
I thought I'd never see her again
And now I'm saying, "I'm sorry" I'm an idiot
It's so stupid
You shouldn't hate me
You don't have to forgive me
I just wanted to tell you that you're my hero
You're laughing
Your smile breaks the thread
I can't stop the tears
About your friends, about your boyfriend
You're a joyful complainer
It made me happy
It took me a while, but I made it
"I don't hate myself the way I am now"
That's what I think
忘れた日なんてない
やるせないあの感情
今も消えず残る
それをずっと背負っていく
Not a day goes by that I don't think about it
That feeling you can't live with
It's still there
I'll always carry it with me
You can be selfish
I don't care if it pisses you off
Don't change, my hero
I can't forgive you for being this way
Even if you're clumsy
You're someone who understands people's pain
過去は変えられないから
未来変えたいんだ
「もう一度友達になってください」
I can't change the past
I want to change the future
"Will you be my friend again?"
Would you say with a bored look on your face
"I won't stop being your friend"
You're a hothead
"Oh, no, no more mistakes"
That's my heart's oath
You're laughing
"It's okay to make mistakes when we're friends"
Here we go again
I know I’ve posted a preview of this 2 months ago, but I decided to put the whole thing in here as well.
Part of why I did this too was because (*pauses because this is so embarassing, but probably the only time I’d get to release this) I just got heartbroken again to the same freakin’ guy that broke me when I was 12. I’m such a dummy ain’t I? I let myself have a skinny feminine guy for a first love just because he was too irritably smart, kind and considerate with a devastating smile... Years after seeing him again.. BOOM- all those broken hopes came flooding in, and I realized that my Kawaiku Naritai phase is much more similar to Hiyori and Hina’s than Sena’s.. No matter how anxious I became with my looks, it would always be that girl he bought a freakin’ complete series of “I Love You Since 1892″ books for her birthday. He didn’t even notice me after greeting me in chats since the pandemic and making me believe we’re at least friends in his eyes though to me, we’re not close back then... I’m too dumb to forget I’m basically Hina, but without a Kotaro, and with no chance at all... I shouldn’t blame anyone, but it’s not my choice to feel hurt okay?
Anyway, this is not a ship edit to me ,but y’all free to think it is since it has some of the loved non-canon ships as well (Hajimari no Sayonara Miku and Kazuki + the new blue characters would get their video soon bc I’m too heartbroken lol). I just love these characters as a whole, and I find it comforting and relatable for stories like these..
because truth be told, not everyone would get their feelings returned, but it does not mean that the people with unrequited love should feel invalidated with their feelings. Actually, their feelings even if it gets unnoticed is still ultimately genuine. Falling without someone catching you is painful as heck, but what choice do people have with their feelings right? It takes a great amount of courage to be able to let go and move on which I admire these characters for, and I hope that even if I can’t have my own Ryou/Kotaro/Juri, I would eventually be able to do the same.
That being said, I hope you guys enjoy what I did 2 months ago ^^
pull on your tinfoil hats and prepare your core muscles, because there’s gonna be a lot of reaching for this one—
tl;dr of it: thanks, miura karen
so i know it seems crazy but from what i’ve seen (so far), i think misuzu high school is the cause behind the vastly differing timelines/storylines between the mvs, the novels, and, god forbid, the anime.
for starters, the kanji used for ‘misuzu’ differs between the novels (水鈴) and the mvs (三鈴), as seen in the cropped screenshots below
there isn’t any mention of misuzu in the anime, but fret not, there’s an incredibly significant dividing factor that puts it from a completely different timeline from the novels and the mvs. and that is…
a misuzu high school-attending karen is seen wearing a ✨yellow ribbon✨ in the hina movie, which would place her in her first year of high school at the time.
and that in itself is a huge issue with canonicity, since karen didn’t wear ribbons of any kind at the start of her first year in the mvs and novels
and when she did eventually start wearing ribbons again, they were red this time
in other words, karen never wore her yellow ribbon as a high school student in the mvs and novels. and yet, she’s seen with a yellow ribbon in the anime…
which brings me to my main point: the honeyworks timeline theory, as illustrated in the following flowchart.
separate verse-exclusive timelines would explain why certain plot points/timelines do not add up across different media (especially with regard to the anime, which completely deviates from all existing media for??? some reason?? i guess??).
(oh and since karen isn’t her own character in honeypre, the stories as told in there exists in its own little bubble universe with timeloops and stuff as per event story convenience ig)
so, really, there’s no point in trying to piece together coherent timelines across the different forms of media. they’re in their own separate universes anyway, with the anime verse being the worst and weirdest timeline by far, but i digress—
This whole extended scene between Karen and Chinatsu is so good. Karen is a good friend and mentor who can give Chi a lot of advice, and she's also just really funny throughout this whole scene. Between her ordering more and more excessive amounts of food as well as her "birth of a pervy Chi" line which just killed me. It's funny because she normally seems so different compared to Ayame, but you can really see how they are sisters here. I really love how this manga has been developing since Taiki and Chinatsu got together.

I worked hard for this so please enjoy🥰💗💗💗 (PS. More to come, and just allow me to start with the non-canon pairs. It’s in my name after all lol). I mean, I ship a few, but I just want to give tribute and respect for these characters who I presume most can relate to out of one-sided feelings lol.
Pairings (just in case you wanna know) : Koyuki/Natsuki, Koyuki/Hina, Kodai/Natsuki, Tsubomi/Kaname, Karen/Chisa (my beloved comfort ship AsuHiyo would get their own vid since they’re too cute for this ^^)
