I know no one probably cares about Faking It anymore but I just rewatched it for the second time in forever and caught something that I haven't seen mentioned before: Lauren was the one that outed Amy and Karma first - on the bench, Shane was just the one that "outed" them to the school at the party.

I got pretty fed up by Season 3 when it was becoming clear they had no intention of actually cementing the Karma/Amy relationship while forever teasing it. Kind of relieved it got cancelled TBH.

Hey I know you don't care about faking it anymore so feel free to not respond. I just have a question. Is it me or season 1 feel different. imean the feel i get from season 1 is just so magical. The feel and the music is so different than next seasons. Im probably exaggerating but It feel like a different series. Im just thinking what was the reason.

I don't know why everyone gets the impression that I don't care, I do sis/bro, it's just that I am so very disappointed in Faking It so it hurts a little to even think about it. However, I do agree with everything you said. Season 1 was a lot more soulful and funny, the characters were more polished and consistent, the music was well-chosen to accompany emotional or funny moments...I have always said that Faking It started dying slowly in 1x08 and hasn't come back the same since. There's such a tonal shift, and it's not even about the shock of Amy sleeping with Liam, it's just gone downhill since because they haven't handled that storyline and aftermath well in the slightest.

As for the reason, I have no idea, I think that Carter's vision was wrong from the get-go and I am going to own up to what I say. He thought he could bait audiences into buying one thing when he wanted to sell another and THEN got pissy we figured it out halfway through. He also lost the 'soul' of the show when he wanted to turn it into an ensemble. Too many cooks in the kitchen for 20 min of airtime per episode...

Kara x Lena (Supergirl)

We all know this one, so I won't go to much into it. All I'll say is I don't really know who to blame the most for this one. DC, who won't let the gay touch one of their main IPs, Kreisberg, who was just a ball of misogyny, or Queller, who thinks that the only good relationship is a toxic one.

Jane x Maura (Rizzoli & Isles)

This could have been epic, but blatant homophobia (despite playing up the queer angle in order to get the viewership) stopped this one from ever really getting anywhere.

Karma x Amy (Faking It)

One of the things that frustrates me so much about the lost potential of this ship is how really great this show was. It was consistently funny, the leads had good chemistry, a good story, good characters, and the writing was really tight. If Covington could have gotten over his obsession with either the character of Liam Booker or the actor Gregg Sulkin, whichever it was, this show could have been legendary. Covington had the equivalent of four seasons (season two was double-sized) to bring Karma and Amy together, so he doesn't get any slack from me for saying he intended to do it. You had your chance.

Emma x Audrey (Scream, the TV series)

In a game of who is the murderer you pick who you trust as though your life depends on it, because it does. Over and over again, even despite betrayals, Emma and Audrey picked each other. It wasn't easy. In fact, it often was very hard. But they had each other's backs. Which is why it was rage inducing how the showrunners would only go so far with this romance. Yes, I said romance. They went on a movie date at the end of the first season. They were in love.

Alice x Cindy (Fear Street: 1978)

The wasted potential in this couple isn't just about the couple itself. According to all information from the stars and director, it's canon that Alice and Cindy are ex-lovers. However, putting the information in the behind the scenes lore means that the Fear Street trilogy lost a through line of queer love being persecuted through the years in Shadyville. Sarah and Hannah, Alice and Cindy, Deena and Sam. This could have been an allegory of queer love triumphing at the end of it all.
