1. Who makes the first move and how?

- they both hold out on their feelings for quite some time till myrah realizes that she may have found someone more stubborn than her. While at a new year’s eve party, they do share a kiss. Then Aemond avoids contact with myrah for like a week 💀 so she thinks she read the situation wrong. But Aemond is just bad at feelings. Takes Helaena (very og fcc of her) forcing them in a room together so she can stop hearing them whine about the other.

2. Who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better?

- hmm they have their own different set of insecurities but in terms of the relationship probably Aemond. Especially in the beginning when they were still in that awkward ‘we clearly like each other but we haven’t defined anything yet’ phase. He has some abandonment/trust issues bc of his family dynamic. It makes him think Myrah will one day wake up and just disregard him. Once they are official, I think things get better. Also frankly him working out his own feelings and self esteem issues for himself.

Also Myrah is a bit of social butterfly, so naturally people are drawn to her. He’d be worried she would want someone a bit more outgoing. But myrah enjoys the pragmatic and quiet way Aemond approaches life. Sometimes she’s even envious of it.

9. What is the most embarrassing thing they have done in front of each other?

- one of the first dates they have is a karoke night. Myrah begs aemond to take her. She, of course makes him serenade her. He hates every minute of it but it’s still one of the cutest things myrah has ever seen.

As for myrah… idk she doesn’t get embarrassed too easily. Or at least she has a much better poker face than most. But one night, after particularly rough week at work, she managed to down a bottle of wine by herself. Got piss drunk, tried to go on an adventure with Aemond trying to stop her. She barely made it out the door, wiped out in the hallway. She woke up the next day with a bruise on her knee and a pounding headache. Aemond had to hold back a laugh telling her about the fall 😭

Danish Aziz Awan, Safe Haven. Week 1

Week 1: Transition.

When I first heard Elvis Presley’s song, “Home is where the heart is,” it didn’t mean anything or made sense. But now it does. One week is gone like a single clap. Mixed emotions to be honest.

Since day 1, it has been emotional, challenging, exciting, and adventurous.

First time on a plane, first time seeing an actual ocean. I know I am being silly, but hey I was intrigued.

The people I am travelling with are such gems. Anyone would jump up to help you at any hour. There is definitely a connection between all of us. Bunch of lively individuals with pure heart.

I will go for different questions now.

How do I feel about the place?

I remember the moment I stepped out of the Boston airport, I literally inhaled my lungs full, and then I was like, “WOW! EVEN THE AIR IS DIFFERENT MAN!”

Then we took a bus ride to Amherst, on our way, While we were singing and dancing and chatting, I took a moment and just looked around.

IT FELT LIKE HOME! Beautiful views and there was just positive aroma.

Arriving at UMass was really a Jaw dropping moment for me, the campus sits in a beautiful valley, lush green, clean river and massive 1500 acre area.

Getting our luggage off, where HOZE (idk if I spelled correctly) helped us, such a nice guy. There we would meet Sean (my new best friend.)

I’ll skip small details, but then it began the craziest I have had ever experienced. From constructive classes to insane dancing at karoke and welcome dinner. We lived every moment, singing and dancing on the streets (everything legal yes.)

What is food like here?

Well it has zero spices, but I have developed a new taste. There is a reason why UMass has number 1 dining hall.

What are people like here?

I think if I get to choose heaven on Earth, I would name this place. Aside from beautiful architecture, the people are so amazing, everyone is always so calm, helpful, joyful and they would compliment you randomly. I have never experienced that. Beautiful inside out.

Similarities between Pakistan and US?

1. Same planet

2. Both countries have diversity, even when they are radically different they are not. (I hope it makes sense.)

Emotional Moment?

Well, last Friday we went to a mosque in Hampshire, it made shed tears, Thank God Taha was there for the hugs. So much cultural diversity, Muslim community from around the world, it just felt so peaceful and accepting. The play area in mosque for kids, people organizing their shoes, not wasting water while washing their body. Nothing like this in our country.

Funny Moment?

Okay, so first day at Franklin dining hall, I was like, “Okay Danish you’ve never had a coffee, there is a coffee machine, how hard can it be.” So I took a cup and poured concentrated coffee in my cup, little did I know that I had to add milk and sugar. Anyway, so I didn’t know where to dump the cup, so I went up the dining hall staff member, and I forgot the word, “DRAIN.” I was like, “Ma’am where do I do this,

( I was doing DRAIN THE CUP MOTION with my hands okay?). She was like, “Oh honey come here.”

Anyway, let’s not get more personal now.

Comments on Mentor?

Brooke: She has really helped me grow as a person, like how to balance between personal and professional life.

Sean: Who wouldn’t want this guy as a brother? He is big and funny and most importantly, he has the biggest heart.

Jesse: He gets thing done, and always, always on time. Bossy and brotherly. He has earned his respect through actions.

Avery: Sweetest lady there is, kinda reminds me of my sister.

Taha: Caring nature is what defines him.

All of them are doing tremendous job,

This experience is making me a new person, and really helping me polish my leadership skills. I am more tolerant now, more open to hearing people’s opinion without any judgement.

I feel like I am at home.
