I agree Tensler would have had endless plot possibilities. No need for really strange timings with forgotten girlfriends for the spice. The could have kept us in the dark with little hidden clues for sooo long before dropping a shoe.

Ah well, there are a few great Tensler stories out there and in the show the friendship will have to do

I am here for the Tenstler fics, but I would love to see it in canon. Like even if it's Jane and Kate flirting to distract a mark, or they're undercover as a couple and Lucy's high key jealous the whole time. I'm grabby hands for Tenstler.

Kate Whister is Skilled... Let's See It!

Hello! NCIS is bumming me out on the skill level of Whistler so I was wondering if you could write up something to help pep me back up? If she's bad in the field because of age/experience then show her doing what she's good at - interrogation! Bonus points for "mean Whistler" coming back. Thank you for this consideration.

At the moment, the best I can do is recommend checking out There's Still That Pull and it's upcoming chapter. The upcoming chapter is currently being worked on! I agree, Kate's got a lot of skills that aren't being shown at the moment. We saw a little of it when they took down Maggie Shaw. She's good and she knows it.

But there's going to be some adjustment to being FBI. Finding her footing again.

I think now that she and Lucy have cleared the air and are starting again as friends, it'll be a weight off her, but Kate is also really great at compartmentalizing. I think that's a skill she's relied on for a long time now to get by. Which is probably why Lucy didn't know how much everything between them was getting to Kate.

I'm not saying that it didn't show, just that when she's at work, she makes that the priority. I think Kate's trusting herself more and that's what has her making a friend of Jane and the others. I have a headcanon that she got Jesse to help her with her shooting, just double check herself, she wouldn't want to become comfortable shooting when a different method would work better. Maybe going to Jesse had been Jane's suggestion. We also saw her starting to make friends with Kai, the person on the team that's hardest to get to know.

I think we'll see Kate shine again. We did in the interrogation she did with Jane. (The interrogation one shot is coming!)

But whether Kate's been in the field before or trained for it, it wasn't as necessary while she was in the DIA. Then there's the fact that when she was with DIA, she dealt mostly with other federal agencies. When Jesse was kidnapped, we saw her deal with the parents.

Thank god for Jane, because that expression says Help! and I'm Panicking in a Professional Way! I love awkward Kate though.

She'll get there. I think she's just growing on more than one front at the moment.

Again, the next chapter of There's Still That Pull will focus on Kate's skills again, but the earlier chapters do too. (Literally working on the next chapter in another window.) That's something I really wanted to showcase.

Kate Whistler has always been a whole lot more than a DIA messenger for red tape. I can't wait to see what FBI Special Agent Kate Whistler shows us!
