Neuvillette
Neuvillette is the type of partner where if you were to play with his long precious locks he'd just DIE. (not literally obviously). He loves your touch and if you were to put little bows in his hair like the melusines he wouldn't change it. He would love it if you didd his hair for him every morning. If you wanted to braid it, he'd totally be at your will. Overall just play with this mans hair he loves it, (pls he's secretly begging).

The Collection is complete! Beyond This Dark House was the last one I needed and my copy arrived yesterday! (thanks thriftbooks)
Cannot overstate the influence Kay's work has had on me, both creatively and on my way of seeing myself and the world. Having all that collected together like this feels good, like having a piece of my life right there on one shelf.

Hi tybalt sorry you're having a bad day. Hope it improves for u soon. What's ur top most important Kay headcanons that you think people should know about and agree with - headKaynons, if you will
oh fuck top most important headkaynons:
transfem, uses they/she pronouns, ofc
knows an insane amount about birds but does not realize that they know way more about birds than the average person so they dont brag about it or anything. just thinks gumshoe knows less than the average person (true) and edgeworth does not give a shit about birds (also true)
she's taller than she is in canon because ace attorney only makes their female characters 5'4" anyway they're 5'9" which is very distressing for phoenix personally but just in a fragile masculinity way
when trucy was younger kay was always the one to give her piggyback rides because phoenix's back is shit. kay also taught trucy how to pick locks. trucy taught kay some surprisingly valuable magic tricks to utilize during investigations. it's all fun and games until the thief that you, a security guard, are chasing turns around and launches an actual crow out of their sleeve at you
nicknames!!! none shall be spared. phoenix cannot tell if "daddy-o" is supposed to exclusively be a joke or if kay actually views him as a father figure but it's better than "saint nick"
look me in the fucking eyes and tell me edgeworth did not adopt them. thats his kid. thats his DAUGHTER. he loves her so fucking MUCH

An Ode to Aziraphale
Aziraphale,
Yes, I adore you because you are an angel.
A literal angel from Heaven and yet you are not perfect.
I love that you try and do the right thing even when you know your superiors will not like it, even when your plans go awry.
I adore your sassy ass.
I think you are odd and brave and entirely too wrapped in your own head sometimes.
I love the joy you find in Earthly, human things you don't need.
You are adorable when you get annoyed.
It's very, ahh, affecting.
Your silliness makes me giggle and persuades me to be more open and free and unashamed in my own rl.
Your huge heart and openness to learn and to consider others' experience and point of view are themselves a miracle.
Angel or not, you care for the humans you don't entirely understand.
I adore that you fell in love with a demon not because he's handsome, but because he's kind and considerate, and because he cares.
I adore how much you rankle each other and yet you are each others' worlds.
I love that you pay attention. To things that may seem as ephemeral as an actor's enjoyment in playing a role, or the playwright's success with it.
I adore you for trying to cheer up a friend who you knew was very likely doing things you should be wanting to punish him for.
I love that after 6000 years with humans, watching them murder each other in increasingly innovative ways you still melt at signs of love between them.
I adore that you are happy to do things imperfectly even though you could miracle everything to be impeccable every time.
This goes for your worn, loved clothes as well.
I adore that you implicitly trust a demon.
And that you taught him to trust more as well.
I adore that you pay attention to what others do and not what they say.
I adore you for not giving up.
I adore you for making the hardest decision to have a shot at the best possible future.
You deserve to be happy angel.
And adored.

Tigana isn't one of GGK's books I usually list among my favorites (that honor goes to the Sarantine Mosaic and it's not-sequels) but there's an intensity of emotion right off the bat in Tigana that I don't get the same sense of with his later works. I don't think the development of this restraint is a bad thing, the intensity of Tigana can also come off as overwrought or mauldlin to some people, which is part of why I don't generally recomend it as a first book for people who haven't read anything else by Kay. But if you enjoy writing that revels in the beauty that can be crafted out of language and also want to experience ten different emotions you didn't know human beings were capable of within the span of fifty pages I think Tigana is still the way to go.
