"Sweet and Intimate Things" Haikyū!! X Reader (Karasuno)

Daichi: He loves it when you wordlessly offer to feed him, holding out whatever you plan to give him and giving him a look when he tries to say no. After Daichi takes a bite, you reach over and stroke your thumb where a piece of food was stuck on his cheek. To him, the way you fuss over him in so many ways is just so sweet.

Koushi: When you want to read your favorite book, he asks to join (rarely because he believes that is when you most want space). Koushi snuggles puts an arm around you and rests his body against yours, occasionally using his other hand to page over before kissing your temple and putting his head on your shoulder.

Asahi: He forgets when he has to important things sometimes, and while you too are human and have your moments of forgetfulness, you remember for him. Asahi found that one night, you stayed up a bit later, and were writing in a notebook. His eyes widened when he snuck up to see what you were doing, it was a list of all the things he needed to remember in colorful ink--the first one was that he remembered you loved him.

Yuu: Runs energetically up to you for a hug at any given time when he spots you. God forbid you are far away and Yuu literally sprints over, pouncing on you and yelling "Surprise Attack Hug!" Though on your visibly down days, he tones it down for your sake and comes to approach you with a more gentle hug. Most of the time, you are the victim of his more body-slamming type of hug. You wouldn't have it any other way.

Ryūnosuke: Whenever he talks about you to others, he has this proud look on his face. A gentleman and hype man. Walking through the corridors and he sees you? Offers his "services". You need a pep talk? Hypes you up like a one-man stadium. Others talking not so nicely about you? First Ryu's a total aggressive hype man, then a total gentleman about you. He tries to look cool in front of you but it always slips, you wonder how your feral man can be such a gentleman and an aggressive hype man too.

Chikara: When studying or just hanging at his or your house, he always makes sure you're comfortable and does things like he knows your house better than you do. Chikara has this habit of nonchalantly tucking your hair behind your ear whether it's long or short, the going back to whatever he was doing. Or he'll fluff up the cushion you're sitting on so your legs don't hurt. Or he'll teasingly tap your noise when you're squinting and tell you to not squint because it's bad for you. He's literally so considerate and hellbent on your comfort.

Hisashi: He just holds out his hand for you when you two have a moment alone sometimes, whether it's sad or normal, to dance or at least move around to music or not. It's cheesy but cute for him, and you willingly accept. Even when you step on Hisashi’s toes or bump your forehead against his out of awkwardness, he doesn’t mind and still twirls you around. It becomes an often thing when you are not in the best mood. 

Kazuhito: You always cheer him on even though it's been a while since he's been off the bench, he'd like to do the same. For whatever activity you pursue he's there to cheer you on, Kazuhito is there like your wingman. And whether you win or lose, try and fail, he gives you high fives and the biggest squeeze to show how much he supports you.

Tobio: He often stays very late after practice ends, and whether or not you have after school club activities or a job--he waits for you so that he can walk you home. Tobio sees you exit the building where you were busy and when you act surprised to see him, and playfully tease him about how he must miss you a lot to do this--he just grumbles out, "Its late out and I don't want you walking alone. Its dangerous stupid!" (You live right around the corner from the building where you work)

Shoyo: In his free time, when he's not practicing his serves or badgering Kageyama to set for him--he pulls you away from your work when he sees you're burnt out. Shoyo drags you outside to go buy some treats at Ukai's and sit on the stoop and eat while insisting you lay your head in his lap. He makes you laugh with silly things he does to bring you out of your slump, then proceeds to grab your hand and run back home when Ukai scolds you both for loitering and dirtying up his stoop.

Kei: You would swear the way he acts he does not like you, but for anything you do not understand in class, he makes little notes for in his own textbook and explains them. When it was lunch time, you left your textbook to buy some food, leaving Kei enough time to swap your textbook with his and leave the classroom just when you came back. You smile at him and he taps you on the head with your own textbook. You notice though the neat handwriting on the notes as his, smiling to yourself when you realize how much he cares.

Tadashi: Whenever you're out on a date with him, he makes a note to remember each little thing that catches your eye. You don't make it obvious that you're staring at whatever you were interested in, but Tadashi notices. So he goes back on his own free time to buy said things, and leaves it with a sticky note on your desk or in your locker. You do realize that its exactly the item you've been eyeing for a while. Maybe he deserves a kiss and a hug as thanks.

Kiyoko: As manager, she is so preoccupied with planning and managing. When it comes to the big games, she has no time for herself much less dates--so on their away game you visit her. Kiyoko is surprised when the third years force her outside their hotel only to see you waiting their with snacks, "You need to relax and have some you time or you'll burn out before the match!" You make her realize that she too needs to keep her mental health in check, which she appreciates. So you take her someplace where you can eat and shower her with affection. Before you leave after taking her back to the teams' hotel, you promise her you'll be there at the game--cheering for the boys but mostly her.

Yachi: Your girlfriend gets nervous in certain situations. So while out on a group outing with the rest of the first years, she feels pressured to give her order. You two have been standing in line for a while and the people behind were impatient. Noticing how she is slightly cowering behind you, you nudge Yachi and ask what drink she would like. When she does tell you, you order it for her and glare at the people pushing you to get out of the line. "Here's your drink, babe!" With a kiss on the cheek she takes it and you wink, going back to your seats while Tsukishima berates you for only ordering drinks for you two. She gets up and smiles confidently to say she'll order theirs.

Trick or Treat Karasuno second years!

Come play Trick or Treat, and I’ll leave you with sweetness and fluff, or darkness and twistiness.

Treat

Everyone knew that Chikara made the best pies. Apple, pumpkin, pecan, key lime, you name it, Chikara had perfected the recipe. 

It had all started out of sheer anxiety. Practice had been hard that day, Ryuu and Yuu had been up to their usual antics, while Kazuhito and Hisashi had merely watched on. Chikara had no idea how he was supposed to be in charge of a whole damn team, when he could barely even corral his own classmates. 

And so, he’d gone home and decided enough was enough. He pulled out the pans, the bowls, and the ingredients and set to work. He wasn’t the kind to take his stress out during a workout. But a pie dough? Absolutely. 

When he’d brought the butter tarts to the gym the next morning, Ryuu and Yuu had looked appropriately chastised. And if Suga tried to adopt him and claim him as his own, well, that was the stroke to his ego that he needed. 

Well over a decade since those days, Chikara still enjoyed the process of kneading a good pie dough into submission. But now he did it more out of enjoyment than anything else. 

He loved watching his friends - his family - enjoy his pies. He loved joining them for cocoa, or cider, or a cheeky glass of wine (usually in Daichi’s case) while they shared a pie. 

Time and again, they’d tried desperately to convince him that he should open his own shop, or sell his wares at local cafés. But he was content as he was. Despite how the pie baking had started, the reasoning had shifted. 

And he could still say that these were his absolute favourite times - sat around the kotatsu in the living room of the house he and Asahi had bought, drinks on the table, and an empty pie tin in the middle.

Trick or treat Narita and Mai

Come trick or treating in my inbox! Leave a “Trick or Treat” and a character or ship in an ask, and I’ll treat you to some autumn-themed fluff or trick you with some twisted spooky aus!

Trick So as usual, Ezzy and I have no chill, and may or may not have challenged each other to take a list of pretty, soft autumn prompts and use those for our tricks this year. At least, that’s what I heard, in between the sass and the frankly terrifying butter gifs… Anyway, this one's prompt is "walking past somewhere you heard is haunted."

They said the old house was haunted. They talked about it in whispers, glancing at it askance and shuffling past more quickly than the houses on either side. The neighborhood kids made up songs about it and dared each other to step across the threshold of the gate, though none of them ever did. The neighborhood moms laughed at their children’s antics, but they certainly never stepped closer, either. The neighborhood teenagers pretended not to care, to be too old for childish fears, but they too gave it nervous looks. The more superstitious would hold their breath as they passed by.

Kazuhito knew all of this, knew exactly why he shouldn’t be there the day he walked up the overgrown path to the big old house on the hill. But something about the place, its sad old visage and the way the trees creaked in warning and the skittering leaves across the path, something didn’t feel dangerous to him. It just felt lonely. When he reached the front steps, when he pressed his hand to the wood of the door, when he looked up at the peeling paint and the crooked shutters and the spot where there had once been a welcome mat but was now just a patch of evidence of what once was, that loneliness settled into his bones.

“Oh,” he breathed. “No one’s been here in a very long time, have they?”

He reached into his bag and pulled out what little he had, just a pair of incense sticks, a holder, and a lighter.

“It’s not much,” he said. “I honestly wasn’t expecting to come here today. I’ve been thinking abou tit, sure, but I hadn’t actually decided… Anyway. Like I said, it’s not much, but I hope it helps, just a little.” He bent to place the holder on the welcome matt’s outline, slipping the ends of the sticks inside. “I can come back sometime, maybe in a few days, and leave something else. Whatever you were, once, it’s not fair for you to be stuck here, avoided and forgotten.”

He lit the incense and lowered his head in prayer, just for a moment. Then, with a smile at the face of the old house, he stood and left.

She watched from the upper window, unseen and unnoticed, but she herself seeing and noticing everything. He would be back, she knew. She had a way of knowing these things, a sense for the game that humans played. She had done her research, after all, though such things were difficult when she was trapped within these walls.

Well, she thought, slipping through wood and concrete, between nails and stones, down to the front steps to mingle with the smoke, not for long. Soon she would have a new body, a strong young man’s body, to take her out into the town once more.

He would be back, and sooner than he thought. She already had her hooks in him.

Leaning back into the door and watching a pair of children race past on the sidewalk, she smiled. Only a matter of time, now.

the one that inspired them all. a little late for thanksgiving but just in time for christmas to start kicking in. maybe i’ll do a friendsmas sequel type thing to this mini series

honestly, daichi was already preparing for the worst when suga convinced him to host friendsgiving for the boys’ vbc with a swift chop to the side and an exclamation of “negativity, begone!” but somehow they managed to surpass his expectations.

“NISHINOYA!”

“TANAKA!”

the troublesome two looked at each other as their faces paled visibly even in the dim lighting of the hallway, matching whispers of “oh shit.”

“DID YOU SPIKE THE APPLE CIDER WE SET OUT?” 

cue a pair of fuming parental crows marching up to the culprits kneeling on the floor in shame in an attempt to minimize their retributions. just before daichi and suga could go off on them, asahi’s head popped out of the door frame looking very worried and anxious.

“uh, guys? hinata and kageyama are doing it again.”

snickers and ambiguous shouts led the captain and co to drag tanaka and noya by the ears to the living room, a real sight awaiting them.

a flushed kageyama setting every pillow and cushion daichi had lining his sofas for an equally red hinata to sloppily spike down. 

asahi trying his best to tell them to stop while ennoshita, kinoshita, and narita do damage control by catching the airborne pillows before they knock something over. 

tsukishima and yamaguchi leaning up against the wall furthest from the commotion and laughing about how the freak duo lose even more brain cells when you add alcohol to the equation.

“you two-” 

“-fix this,” suga finished daichi’s thought as they tossed the guilty party at the inebriated first-years. 

before the two second-years could stammer out an excuse, kiyoko walked into the entrance from the kitchen, making everyone get their act together with a simple “dinner’s ready.”

the two-brain-cell quartet could not move fast enough to fill up their plates of kiyoko’s delicious cooking, noya and tanaka making sure to sing plenty of her praises.

“thank you,” the quiet girl stated. “yachi helped a lot.”

“all i did was c-cook the vegetables and bake the pie, nothing m-major,” a flustered yachi stammered.

“that’s so cool!” well, that’s what hinata tried to say around a mouth full of mashed potatoes and gravy, starchy particles flying.

“that’s disgusting,” tsukishima sneered as he scooped a serving of green beans onto yamaguchi’s plate. everyone noticed the uncharacteristically sweet gesture but no one dared to mention it out loud.

within minutes, tanaka and nishinoya were stacking up on seconds of everything, daichi slowly getting up to follow them. soon, food was packed, dishes were washed, and pie was served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

“i normally don’t like pumpkin pie, but this is really good,” yamaguchi shyly complimented yachi on her baking, leaving both their cheeks tinted pink. tsukishima snickered behind his hand but suga karate chopped the back of his head before he could spout some other snarky comment.

the rest of the night passed relatively peacefully, for the sake of daichi’s sanity. everyone helped clean up (“it’s just like after practice!” “hinata, boke!”) and got sent home with full stomachs, new memories, and boxes of leftovers.
