24-Hour Godzilla / ゴジラ Channel Coming to Pluto TV With Exclusive Titles
Calling all Godzilla fans! Pluto TV and Toho International have announced the early July debut of a 24-hour Godzilla Channel on Pluto TV. The channel will feature more than 30 films spanning the eras, including the films Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and Godzilla vs. Biollante directed by Kazuki Ōmori, in addition to the 1998-2000 animated adventure Godzilla: The Series.
Since its debut in 1954, Godzilla has become a global icon. After the monster’s initial destruction of Tokyo, Godzilla has fought numerous foes and gained new allies over several eras. While each film stands alone, the evolution of Godzilla followed advancements in film and technology along with cultural trends, while staying rooted its 1954 origins.

Quote
Scientists and reporters, the usual heroes of the first series 0f 'Godzilla' movies, always sought the truth. This pursuit of truth differed from the values of, for example, politicians, who would gladly ignore inconvenient facts, or spin information to manipulate public opinion. (Ishiro) Honda believed that a duty to truth for its own sake was stronger than nationalistic or political allegiances. He saw scientists as being able to united across cultural, political and national boundaries in the face of horrible threats to mankind. In the 'Godzilla' series and in Toho's other science fiction films, Honda posited scientists as the salvation of a planet riddled with petty nationalistic conflicts. The new (Heisei) 'Godzilla' series does not idealize science in this way. In 'Godzilla Vs. Biollante,' Shiragami goads Kirishima, saying, "So science is just another host of politicians." Notably Kirishima finally decides against attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a decision that partly reflects the negative portrayal of Americans in the movie as a whole, but also address the issue of science-for-hire as well. MIT's reputation as a world-class science institute has much to to with the prominent positions its graduates obtain in research labs funded by large corporations. If Kirishima feels compromised working at a lab funded by the Okochi Foundation, he is unlikely to find anything in the United States that does not similarly compromise his integrity. Scientists like Kirishima do not research simply to improve the world's wealth of knowledge; their work is used to improve the wealth of their employers; science is a business. Unlike Honda's utopian vision, 'Godzilla Vs. Biollante" presents scientists who are manipulated by large companies and governments, contracted to produce weapons and monsters.
David Kalat, “A Critical History and Filmography of Toho’s Godzilla Series” (1997/2010).
