My favorite parts in this are Sam calling Louis (and by extension Jacob) a 'very, very, very beautiful man' and using the phrase 'got the hots for him' which sounds like something an australian old lady would say

Calling himself a whore another certified Daniel Molloy moment

It's so crazy when you realize whatever Louis and Armand were doing in s1 really was essentially a role reversal bdsm roleplay. Like we joke about it but that's what it literally was. They created a servile character of Rashid and imaginary relationship and storyline they would perform and kept the charade up whenever Daniel was nearby and maybe even when he wasn't. Like in ep6 they were still acting when Daniel was asleep! And it's kind of like the exaggerated reversal of their real dynamic and you can see Armand slip and get angry when he felt Louis went off script and spoke too disrespectfully. And you know it was sexual because in that scene where Louis is drinking Armand's blood they were basically having voyeuristic vampire sex in front of Daniel. Like if they just didn't want Daniel to know that Armand was a vampire they could've made up literally any other story, they didn't need to do the whole master and submissive servant thing. But they wanted to

Rolin Jones being presumably straight is so funny to me every time i remember it. He originally got into theater to chase women and ended up becoming so passionate about deranged queer stories that people now automatically assume he is gay. He's just openly admitting he sees himself as a strong shepherd dog and Louis and Claudia as his vulnerable little lambs he needs to guard and protect. Insane man

So twisted that when Claudia asserted that she would be a sister from now on instead of a daughter she thought that it would raise her to become equal with her parents and they would start to see her as an adult, but instead what happened is that their family dynamic changed so that Louis' position was lowered to a child's level with Claudia

Strong contender for the most fucked up scene in the show

Anne Rice's treatment of sexual violence is one of the oddest i've ever seen. It's for the most part absolutely atrocious BUT then there are sometimes also moments that suddenly feel realistic and and emotionally authentic, only to soon jump back to her delusions again. E.g. she was infamously a passionate believer in children's right to have sex with adults, and 'loving' sexual abuse is depicted as good and beautiful in her books, but at the same Armand ends up feeling like a relatively realistic depiction of a grooming and csa victim, though not always. It's like she's often teetering on the edge of self-awareness. I think she had enough emotional intelligence and intuition (she must've had those qualities or she wouldn't have been able to write any good characters or relationships in the first books) that she wasn't completely able to lie to herself and deep down she knew she was wrong and her fantasies and beliefs were bullshit

Yes i need to see crazy nasty graphic sex on s2 but above all i need to see people grabbing Louis' tiny waist. Romantically sexually platonically, doesn't matter but it's criminal that his waist isn't grabbed more it's like made for that
