i just can't get over the dark urge origin in bg3. you're supposed to be in control of what your character does in a video game, and in rpgs, you always have a choice.

as you start playing the dark urge, you notice there are more choices for you than others. as the game gives your character gory, violent, intrusive thoughts, you - as the player, can choose to act on them. however, your character isn't normally supposed to have thoughts that haven't been planted by you. it's scary, like it's supposed to be.

the game takes your control and choice away further by forcing your character, the one thing you are supposed to be in control of, act on these violent thoughts turned urges. neither you or your character have seen what has happened. you are stripped of your position in control of everything. and it just works
