Keeprefining!

Yesterday I dropped a toad of a fish I hooked on a size 8 fly which is relatively small for general salt fly fishing. My MO in the past has always been to fish the lightest rig and fly possible. Over the years that has served me well. Lately though since switching to Spey I now can go a lot heavier with my fly selection. Today I tied up some larger body flies and went a lot heavier tying in tungsten dumbbell eyes. I’ll post results if I get out in the next few days. Tides have been great this week!
