Andor’s Kennari Problem

One of the things people like about Andor is that the show never treats its audience like they’re stupid. It give us information and then let’s us working things out for ourselves, trusting us to understand what’s going and to be able to put the pieces together without them having to spoon feed us every little bit of information. 

However, in one regard, I think the show took this a little too far and that’s in regards to Kennari and its fate. When Maarva took Cassian as a child, she explained that if she left him behind he’d be killed. Moreover, she went on to say that his people would be as well, both to cover up the mining accident and in retaliation for the dead man that they had just killed. 

Then later when Cassian is an adult, Maarva tells him to stop looking for his sister that, “no one made it off Kennari,” suggesting that yes, something did happen and that Cassian’s people where indeed murdered. The problem is, we never see what actually happened on Kennari after Maarva took Cassian. All we have is Maarva’s word that something did and it’s easy to dismiss her as paranoid because of it and making it look like she callously kidnapped a child for no reason.

Do I believe something bad happened on Kennari? Absolutely! This is the Empire after all. I don’t doubt they would have wiped out the entire native population to protect the secret of whatever they were really doing there. I just think they should have show it happened instead of just trusting Maarva that it did.

my only complaint about this episode is i’m torn on if maarva believes she was right about taking cassa from kennari (“everyone there died” (therefore it excuses her kidnapping him) (also it’s implied cassians sister lived so 🤨)) or if maarva and the writers believe she was justified in taking cassa

because if it’s the writers too…..

Leaders of Pacienco

Hey peeps!

I wanted to draw the rulers and leaders of the 7 Districts in the Glitchtale Prequel!

Each district is themed around one of the 7 soul traits, and we’re working our way up the list!

This is Pacienco, the district of Patience

The rulers (that have been revealed) are King Krono Hayes, Queen Alicia Winterway, Princess Ellie Winterway, Princess Rin Winterway, General Kennari, and Bodyguard Kanashi Fukitsu

I really enjoy Pacienco’s distinct diamonds on the side of their clothing, and the Winterway family looks so cool! I wish we could know the Queen’s name, though
