Reposted from @runfasterdad This would be the usual start to the road race season for the boys and I. With all that’s going on in the world I’ve honestly missed this time spent with my kids the most. Whether it was a quick 5k or a half marathon, we rolled on. The hundreds of miles we put on this stroller, the fights over who’s snacks were who’s, who was going to hold the speaker, the giggles and laughs, the triumph, the tears. The boys are getting bigger now and I haven’t even had them sit in the seats over the winter in fear of realization that this chapter of our lives may have passed. It’s hard to think about. Down the road I hope we all can look at these pictures and bring back as much enjoyment we had at each and every start and finish. I’m alive! I have been so focused on my fitness this week, I had forgotten about everything else, like Instagram. It’s been a great week though! Hitting a lot of my little goals in my head for running. I know I have a long way to go but have been using the Couch to 5K app, on my phone, to get into running, I am finding I can get through the 30 minute runs without dying as bad now. This is only my second week trying this app and there are 7 weeks left in the little running program it made me, so I am so excited to see where I will be mentally and physically at that point. There is so much value I am finding in pushing yourself into the uncomfortable and seeing just how the pieces tumble. Not too long ago I would have laughed if you told me I would be doing the things I am doing today. Now it's that previous version of myself that makes me laugh and I cannot wait to see where else this journey will take me!
