When my Kia contact told me that I would love the Telluride, I had my reservations, obviously he wouldn’t tell me anything else. My apologies to both Kia and my contact, it took a while for me to come around (maybe to disprove him) but he was right.

Kia’s new flagship, and biggest vehicle in their roster, shares its platform with corporate cousin, the Hyundai Pallisade. The Telluride comes in three flavors - EX, SX and SX Limited.

Kias have always offered qualities and items that are options on other marques as standard equipment, all at absolute bargain prices and the Telluride is no exception. Even the entry-priced ($47,005) EX is well-equipped with such accouterments as 10.25” multimedia screen, advanced cruise control, wireless charging and of course safety aps - forward collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance, and blind spot assist. 

The SX adds 20-inch alloy wheels, dual sunroof, Harmon/Kardon premium sound system. Both EX and SX are configured for eight passengers while the top of the line SX Limited has seating for seven. At $55,005 the SX Limited gets self-leveling rear suspension, heads up display, and heated/cooled second row captains chairs. Come up with another grand and you get Nappa leather in the appropriately titled, limited edition, SX Limited with Nappa.

The interior’s finish is undeniably upscale with an attractive array of materials that work well together.

There’s 21.2 cu.ft. of cargo room behind the third row, fold down the two back rows and you have 86.7 cu.ft. of stowage room.

Regardless of trim Kia’s flagship is a great family hauler with abundant passenger space and contemporary features.
