The Latest Advances in Kidney Cancer Surgery
Tumblr media
Kidney cancer, a formidable adversary, has witnessed remarkable advancements in surgical techniques. For patients in Bhopal, access to the best surgeons for kidney cancer is crucial, and staying informed about the latest innovations can be a game-changer. Here are some of the recent breakthroughs in kidney cancer surgery:
1. Minimally Invasive Surgery
Laparoscopic Nephrectomy: This procedure involves small incisions and specialized instruments, resulting in less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times.
Robotic-Assisted Surgery: Bhopal's top surgeons employ robotic systems, like the da Vinci Surgical System, to enhance precision and control during kidney cancer surgery, leading to reduced complications.
2. Nephron-Sparing Surgery
Partial Nephrectomy: Surgeons prioritize preserving as much healthy kidney tissue as possible. Advances in techniques like robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy allow precise removal of tumors while sparing healthy tissue.
3. Ablation Therapies
Cryoablation and Radiofrequency Ablation: These minimally invasive techniques use extreme cold (cryoablation) or heat (radiofrequency ablation) to destroy cancerous tissue in the kidney cancer center in Bhopal. They are suitable for smaller tumors and patients who may not be candidates for traditional surgery.
4. Immunotherapy and Targeted Therapies
Combination Therapies: In some cases, surgery is combined with newer systemic treatments like immunotherapy and targeted therapies. These therapies help prevent the spread or recurrence of kidney cancer.
Keeping up with the latest advances in kidney cancer surgery is vital for patients seeking the best possible outcomes. To benefit from these cutting-edge techniques, individuals in Bhopal should consider consulting with the best surgeons for kidney cancer in Bhopal. Access to these innovations, coupled with the expertise of top-notch medical professionals, ensures that kidney cancer patients receive the best care available.

Palliative Care at the Career Institute and Medical Science, Bhopal – easing the journey towards the end!

We will all perish inevitably. Many pray for an instant death to avoid prolonged suffering. But not all will encounter death as they wish for. You simply cannot turn a blind eye to it.  Therefore, we need to care about quality of death too, with as much concern as we have for quality of life.
Addressing the need of specialized health care for people who are battling incurable illnesses and continue to live with a serious conditions, Career Institute and Medical Science, Bhopal has widened its health care practice by offering palliative care. Critical care is an aspect that comes into play when the patient’s condition can be reversed but when that ceases to happen, the best option to resort to is palliative care. It is a field of medical science that goes beyond administrating medication. A commonly acceptable way of treatment for terminally ill patients in western countries, but over the past years it has gained wide spread recognition in India. Treatment under this care can begin anytime, immediately after diagnosis or even in the later stages. Both adults and children can benefit widely from such care.
The institute, also a member of Indian Association of Palliative Care, treats patients as both out-patients and in-patients. A team of well-trained doctors, nurses, nutritionists, physiotherapists, social workers and spiritual leaders of different faiths work in unison to ensure complete physical, mental and social wellbeing in an organized pattern to minimize suffering of those battling a life-threatening disease. The aim is to ensure that first and foremost the distress of ‘I am going to die’ is dealt with. Helping the patient come to terms with the diagnosis and explaining the best possible scope of treatment enables better acceptance of the medical condition. Doctors and nurses try to find best ways to help with specific and general discomforts and disabilities like pain management, limited movement of limbs, immobility, difficulty in breathing, vision problems and fatigue.
An expert group report has highlighted that palliative care among Cancer patients in India has resulted in better quality of life and longer survival in comparison to those cancer patients who are not under palliative care.   For example, if a patient develops anaemia while being treated for breast Cancer, a blood transfusion will relieve fatigue and enable the patient to lead a better quality of life while receiving treatment for breast cancer. A misconception that palliative care is only for Cancer patients needs to be dismissed.  It is very useful for patients with heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, dementia, Parkinson's disease, AIDS, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, kidney failure, chronic liver disease, rheumatoid arthritis, neurological disease, congenital anomalies and drug-resistant tuberculosis. etc
Changing times has also altered the structure of our families. The rise in number of nuclear families leaves many to battle illness alone. Doctors and nurses help in creating a support group by counselling relatives and friends in how to deal with a terminally ill person and mentally strengthen them. Spiritual healing is also an important aspect under this care, chanting and singing of spiritual songs, healing by gurus or priest are arranged for. The patient’s preference of spending their last days at home or hospital is also catered for.

Latest non-invasive CT scan test now available at CIMS, Bhopal
128 Slice CT scan machine can give you better images and cover larger parts in lesser time. It also enables 3D high-resolution imaging that gives a doctor an accurate picture of the affected area.
Accurate diagnosis is life-changing for respiratory, cardiac, and cancer patients. It is also used in the evaluation of blood flow, blood volume, and vascular permeability in the brain, liver, heart, and kidney.
Heart blockages can be detected easily with non-invasive methods. But even today angiography is widely performed to check heart blockage where a catheter is guided carefully into the affected area.
Hospitals like CIMS (Career Institute of Medical Science) Bhopal, MP have installed the latest and high-end HRCT 128 Slice machine.
It is a non-invasive test and can be carried out for outpatients.
This 128 Slice Machine allows doctors to map coronary artery lesions as well as blockages which are nearly impossible to visualize. It allows coverage of the whole heart within one heartbeat.
This CT scan will end the need for any other diagnostic test and even shorten a patient's hospital stay. It is a one-test machine. Accurate treatment can be provided immediately.
It also has an adjustable shield that blocks excess radiation during, before, and after the scan. Other than that, it gives minute details of tissues with clear images that enable a doctor to determine the extent of the disease, especially in Cancer patients. It also shows blood flow in a whole organ which is vital for cardiac diagnosis and stroke patients.
CT scans are difficult in pediatric patients. Because of its high scanning speed, it is very beneficial in pediatric diagnosis too. It can capture high-resolution scanning in motion.
In pulmonary patients, there is no need to hold their breath while scanning.
128 slice CT scan machine can be used for a wide range of diagnoses and proves to be a game changer in the field of diagnosis.
The need of the hour is more and more doctors should prescribe this test for better and more accurate diagnoses.

36 years ago, on the night of December 1984 (2 years before the Chernobyl disaster), an American owned pesticide plant in Bhopal leaked at least 30 tons of highly toxic gases, resulting in more than 600,000 people being exposed to it. People ran on the streets, vomiting, their eyes burning. Government figures refer to an estimate 15,000 killed over the years and many of those who survived suffered from serious diseases like lung cancer, kidney failure and liver diseases. Those who were exposed to the poisonous gas have given birth to physically and mentally disabled children three generations down. Thousands of animals died in the disaster. Human rights groups say that thousands of tons of hazardous waste remain buried underground. Both water and soild are still contaminated in and around the plant. The reason of this horrific accident has not been established.
The plant was owned by Union Carbide which is based in the United States. Activists have been fighting to hold the corporation accountable, and to claim justice for the victims of the world's worst industrial disaster. In 1989, Union Carbide paid 470 million to the Indian government to settle any lawsuits but only part of that was distributed to the victims. People protested to the unjust settlement they demanded justice. In the last three decades, there has been little relief or justice for the survivors.
In 2010, 7 former employees (all Indians) were convicted of causing death by negligence. They were each sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined Rs one lakh each. However, all were released on bail shortly after the verdict.
The CEO, Warren Anderson, was highly praised for his courage in going to Bhopal four days after the disaster, where he was immediately arrested. But after quickly paying bail, he never returned to face trial. With the support of the United States government, he escaped attempts to be brought to trial. He died in 2014 at the age of 92, unpunished.

When to get admitted in the hospital if you are Covid-positive?
Tumblr media
The virus is deadly and is spreading too soon! With precautions being taken, there are still people who are falling sick. The Covid-19 Virus starts off mildly and within no time, amplifies!
Once tested positive, doctors suggest home-isolation. However, the question that prevails is when to get admitted in the hospital? The answer to this depends on the symptoms. To begin with, you must know what the early warning signs of this deadly virus are and how they must be dealt with. Staying at home is indeed imperative. Social distancing is unavoidable. Remember to cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or carefully cough into your elbow. Also, sanitize and wash your hands regularly.
But, what is important is that how can you tell if that cough or sneeze is something to worry about?
The symptoms of coronavirus are many-a-time similar to that of a normal cold or a viral. However, you must be aware of the warning signs and when you must call your doctor.
The most common symptoms of Covid:
The most common symptoms include cold and cough and a shortness of breath. Some might face difficulty in breathing. In many people, the cold and cough begins dry and then evolves into a series of sneezes and coughs that hampers breathing. Some people might also face more symptoms which include:
∙        Fever
∙        Chills
∙        Repeated shaking with chills
∙        Muscle pain
∙        Headache
∙        Sore throat
∙        New loss of taste or smell
People facing any of these or a combination of these symptoms must seek medical assistance. The doctors are most likely to suggest a treatment at home.
Those with underlying health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, immunosuppression, cancer, lung disease or kidney disease are more at risk for complications from the virus. Adults over the age of 60 are also at higher risk.
When to get admitted?
People with pre-Covid health issues are at a greater risk. Also, even when in isolation at home and under treatment, the symptoms might advance at getting admitted into the hospital is then a must.
Look out for the following to know when to get admitted into the hospital:
∙        Difficulty breathing
∙        A persistent pain or pressure in your chest
∙        Bluish lips or face
∙        High fever
∙        Unconsciousness
However, it is best advised to seek medical care even if you feel ill or unusual. The virus is affecting different people in a different way. If you have any health issues prior to being Corona-positive, it is best advised to be under constant medical supervision. People above the age of 45 must take extra precautions and must not think twice before getting admitted in the hospital. If symptoms worsen and the condition deteriorates before getting admitted into the hospital, it would be very challenging for medical experts to regain your good health.
Seek immediate medical assistance if you feel your condition is deteriorating. Our doctors at CIMS are fully equipped and trained to provide expert health care to Covid patients. We have in-house CT-Scan and Path Lab to ensure our patients get all facilities under one roof. CIMS is the best Covid-centre in Bhopal, providing expert health care 24/7.

 COVISHIELD VS COVAXIN
The novel Coronavirus or Covid -19 has dwindled human health to the extent that people have run out of medicines to cure it and the determination to fight against the pandemic. Eventually, the health infrastructure has toppled down and seems like a heap of rubble when it comes to dealing with the virus. The vaccine though felt like a ray of hope, the situation is not under much control.
COVISHIELD
Oxford’s-AstraZeneca vaccine, also called Covishield in India, has been approved by the WHO. The vaccine is made from a weakened version of a common cold virus (also known as Adenovirus) from chimpanzees. SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA, the world’s largest manufacturer by volume joined hands with AstraZeneca to produce a vaccine.
WHAT IS COVISHIELD?
It is a vaccine developed to fight against coronavirus. It is injected into a patient and it makes antibodies that can attack the coronavirus infection. It can be safely stored between 2C to 8C. It is given in two doses between four and 12 weeks apart.
HOW EFFECTIVE HAS IT BEEN IN DEALING WITH COVID-19?
∙      When people were given half a dose and then a full dose it was 90 percent effective.
∙      The vaccine induces good immune responses with no unacceptable side effects.
∙      It is approved for emergency use.
COVAXIN
Covaxin is administered to prevent Coronavirus Disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. It is an inactivated vaccine which means that it is made up of killed coronaviruses, making it safe to be injected into the body.
WHAT IS COVAXIN?
The Bharat Biotech COVID-19 vaccine has approval for restricted use in an emergency. It is basically for people aged 18 years and above. It is given in the form of an injection. The vaccine is administered in 2 doses given 4 weeks apart.
HOW EFFECTIVE HAS IT BEEN, IN DEALING WITH COVID-19?
∙      When administered, immune cells can still recognize the dead virus, prompting the immune system to make antibodies against the pandemic virus.
∙      The vaccine has an efficacy rate of 81%
WHICH IS BETTER AND WHY?
∙      Covaxin is under controversial phase as its trials were still underway but were cleared for emergency use.
∙      Both have shown good responses in curing the covid virus.
∙      Both are safe for use and have not been showing serious side effects.
∙      Covishield has passed all three stages of trials while Covaxin is still under the third phase of trials.
Covid, a pandemic that has been a reason for dampened spirits of the public, obviously needs to be got rid of soon. But rushing for vaccines not tested properly can backfire. The lives of people cannot be put at stake at any cost.

Nasha Mukti Kendra Truly speaking the people who are addicted to cigarette or alcohol, they do not care about the things happening now or in upcoming future. They are simply careless about everything. Regular consumption causes memory loss, self-esteem, identity and family concerns. It has also been found in the society that people who have a serious disease and have been advised not to smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol, have been caught ignoring everything and consume it regularly. Do any of us hoard money for future diseases? Do we know and spoke to the donor in advance that we may need a kidney, liver or heart in the future? Did we make appointments with the doctor in advance or at the hospital? No such planning and no such preparation because future is unknown.
As we know the regular consumption of alcohol and cigarette causes different types of cancer, liver and kidney failure, severe heart problems, hormonal imbalance, brain malfunctioning and very poor immunity. If any of these happens to any person, then their each day will be full of difficulties. People get tired of going to several hospitals. They don't even have a complete understanding of those diseases and related medical terminologies such as cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, alcoholic hepatitis, steatosis, fibrosis, cirrhosis, swelling in the blood vessels, colorectal cancer and carcinoma and lack of proper information bothers them more. Many people get into useless rounds to get rid of their confusions.
Yes, if anything can be done for better future and better health, that can be done now only. Rehabilitation Centre in Raipur It is better to get rid of such addiction because to avoid any serious situation in family and professional life, any medical emergency and unwanted medical operation or surgery. The longer we delay, the worse the problem will be. And it will be tough to believe that rarely people come forward to help when you are facing difficult situation. So, if you see any of your friend or family member has the addiction of cigarette, alcohol, drugs or tobacco they should be taken to best doctors and rehabilitation centres for the treatment immediately. Raipur Nasha Mukti Kendra treatment will always cost you less as compared to those where it needs an organ doner for them to survive. The treatment cost and the related pain or harassment is beyond imagination. It can not be affordable to all so this can cause a sudden death or there may a situation where a suitable doner is not found though one is capable enough to have multiple doners. So, nasha mukti treatment or de addiction treatment is suggested always.

Palliative Care at the Career Institute and Medical Science, Bhopal – easing the journey towards the end!
We all have unfulfilled wishes; the care givers team tries its bst to fulfil wishes within their capacity. Even if time is limited, that time can be spent with joy and happiness.
Many a times those who take care need to be taken care of too. eBereavement Support for families who have lost loved one is very important. It involves dealing with grief, fear and a feeling of guilt too.

AN Insight On Different Tests Involved In Pathology Labs
Health care providers too might be unfamiliar with the workings involved in the pathology laboratory. The delivery of a specimen to the pathology laboratory initiates a complex series of events which further results in a pathologic diagnosis or interpretation. A pathologist helps and cares for the patients every day by providing their doctors with the information needed to ensure an appropriate patient care. He may also recommend the steps that you can take to prevent illness and maintain good health. It is very easy to visit any pathology lab for the tests. You may get information about all the pathology labs near your location when you type Pathology Lab Collection Center Near Me in the search engine bar.
Some of the tests performed in the pathology laboratory are:
FULL BLOOD EXAMINATION
The full blood examination or FBE is also known as the Full Blood Count (FBC blood test) or Complete Blood Count (CBC), which provides important information about the numbers and correct development of the cells in the blood. This includes red blood cells that carry oxygen, white blood cells that fight infection and platelets that help blood to clot. Abnormalities in the FBE blood test can be caused due to anemia, infections, some blood cancers such as leukemia and some inherited conditions too.
TSH (HYROID STIMULATING HORMONE) QUANTIFICATION
In this Test, the blood test is performed to diagnose, screen and monitor the treatment for thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. The test measures the amount of TSH in the blood. TSH is produced by the pituitary gland which acts as a ‘messenger’, telling the thyroid gland to start making hormones. In patients with a thyroid disease, this messaging system gets unbalanced. Thyroid hormones regulates a range of vital body functions such as breathing, heart rate and body weight etc. It gets essential that they are produced at the correct levels. These disorders can occur spontaneously or as a result of tumors, infections, pregnancy, and sometimes medications.
URINALYSIS
A urinalysis is a test which is performed on a sample of urine to diagnose metabolic disorders (such as diabetes) or/and kidney disorders. A patient may be referred for urinalysis test by their doctor in a range of situations. These common tests include testing for urine protein for example during pregnancy, red cells for example with kidney diseases, and also markers of infections of the urinary tract.
IRON STUDIES
An iron studies test is a pathology test performed if the doctor suspects that you have too little or too much iron in your body system. Low iron levels may lead to anemia in which the body does not have enough red blood cells resulting in easy fatigue and lack of energy. Iron deficiency is a reflection of poor dietary intake, or excessive loss of iron through bleeding. So it is important to find the cause of iron deficiency as it may indicate important underlying diseases.
While too much iron in the blood or haemochromatosis increases the risk of a number of serious conditions such as liver disease, heart failure, arthritis and diabetes. The effects of too much or too little iron are treatable, especially if detected early, making pathology tests vital in this condition. Some people might have the choice of visiting the best laboratory labs for the perfect diagnosis and treatment. To do so you may also search for best laboratory labs, for instance Best Pathology Lab in Bhopal
Thus, we have seen some important tests that are conducted by various pathologies.
