The sheer fucking audacity of CNN to refer to yet another inhumane massacre of Palestinians who were just trying to retrieve aid for their starving families as a "chaotic incident" enrages me. They refuse to name the perpetrators who murdered Palestinians, the IOF and they refuse to condemn Israel for the atrocities they have been carrying out since October. The CNN and other western news/media outlets don't even deserve to be called as journalists but rather a bunch of heartless ghouls with no morality, fortitude, or spine. and these so-called news outlets should be put on trial for their complicity in this genocide.

Can’t look at anything or anyone the same anymore. I see nice cars and people with the latest brands/eating McDonald’s etc/having the latest iPhones and I just think about how many kids died mining for these metals to support that structure of our world. That’s also killing the earth. And they’re technically my brothers and sisters and cousins. I think about what kind of human you have to be to enjoy luxuries that are conceptualized in blood and murder and not boycott the minimum/speak up. I feel like I can’t trust anyone. But I fight and still hope for the future for me and my people. I am thankful for films like Neptune Frost, Yeelen, Gabbeh, and other indigenous films that capture the indestructible beautiful hearts of our people and their lights we must carry on against the darkness.

Fuck Israel but tbh fuck Indonesia too for its own displacement and murder of indigenous people. Palestine WILL be free, and hopefully Indonesia will be investigated in the ICJ.

I have a handful of these moments every single day when I read about the horrors -both past and current -of countries with settler-colonial origins, or any imperial powers who have and continue to enact violence, genocide, and crimes against humanity against any communities around the world. I hope the IOF and the Indonesian government and military are held accountable for their heinous crimes against Palestinian people and West Papuan people, respectively.

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere," as Dr. Martin Luther King said, and I wholeheartedly believe that recognizing that freedom/liberation movements aren't something separate but something inherently based in community -we need to support and be in solidarity with each other to hold these abusive, violent, and despicable powers accountable -and also to further create systemic changes -real, genuine changes.

I'm also so sorry I didn't respond so promptly! I try to make sure I answer everyone who reaches out to me, and once again I started to reply and saved it to my drafts, thinking I posted this the other day. Thank you for sending me your thoughts and for everyone who has shared their stories. What could you possibly have to say that would justify the massacre of over 11,500 children? I've seen plenty of Zionist rhetoric, and not one bit of it has been convincing. I find it extremely insulting to see a genocide being carried out in my name, as a queer Jewish woman. I find the conflation of Zionism and Judaism to be blatantly antisemitic. What could I possibly feel, seeing that children are being murdered in my name, if not disgust and outrage?
