                     it had been over half an hour of waiting, and by that point, seoyeon was almost entirely sure that she’d just been stood up. and on valentine’s of all days. what a lovely way to celebrate probably one of the most useless holidays of the year. she didn’t even quite know why she still tried, or why she agreed to this. but just as she’s about to call the waiter to just order for herself, there’s someone that takes the seat across from her and she knows for a fact that this isn’t the guy she meant to go on a date with, and there’s a look of alarm that settles into her gaze. “uh, hi... who are you?”

”Are you sure I look okay because you always look so fabulous and I look like trash!” She grumbled as she sorted her bangs out while on video chat to her friend--she was on her way to meet her so they could have a girly shopping day out and about, it was about time Hana treated herself to some TLC and just retail therapy in general but whenever she went out with her older friend, she always felt like she looked awful. “Ah, my bangs aren’t working--Toniiii,” she whined as she pulled a pouty face into the camera. She had asked her brother to give her a lift into Hongdae, it was much easier than getting public transport. Looking out the window, she grinned, “I’m almost there! I’ll see you in five!”

                good attracted good, sam liked to believe. if one were to put something positive out into the universe, something just as positive was sure to come back to them. and as he began switching his life around as an adult to try and be more good – it was proving to be true. in his efforts to ditch his old high school persona, he’d gotten an amazing job working at an animal shelter, felt genuinely happier without drowning himself in alcohol, and finally met the person he thought could be his actual soulmate. the only problem was ... that person was also his best friend. and there they both sat, at the foot of his bed, smiling and laughing in a way that could knock the wind out of him. despite their close friendship, sam thought he could never confide in them about his true feelings. he didn’t want to risk losing them for good, not when their relationship was so perfect. so he was comfortable continuing as they were, as long as the other was happy – at least, that’s what he told himself.                still, when he looked over at them, he couldn’t help the sinking in his stomach ... the what if we were more thoughts that cluttered his mind. “ so, “ sam spoke up after the laughter died down, a small laugh still escaping him. “ how’re things going ? any new love interest ... interests ? i don’t judge, “ sam joked, though deep down he was genuinely wondering if he had anything – anyone – to worry about.
