if im getting subway (which is rare bc jesus christ its expensive) i always get an italian b.m.t. on oregano bread, but at this finnish fast food chain i usually get a double burger. its like this.

i also liked to get hot dogs from r-kioski (a convenience store chain), but they stopped offering the sauce i liked so.

My coworkers and I have effectively nicknamed the egg stealing bastard “Sampo Kioski” or commonly “Little Sampo” because we see it around, but we can never catch it.

It’s almost getting out of hand with how many complaints were filed because this rat bastard keeps stealing people’s eggs

honestly i just love how normal käärijä is

he's like, just a normal guy that you could possibly run into at a kioski or the city center or something. before being a fan of his, i have long since been a c-pop and k-pop fan, where looks were almost more important than talent so its really refreshing to see just jere from vantaa out here being absolutely unapologetically himself

Jestem zadowolony z dzisiejszego dnia

Przez spory czas nic się nie działo może dwie wycieczki były Liczyłem na to że może uda mi się wyrwać wcześniej z roboty i pojechać na meeting ale dupa bo po 16 zjechała się potężna wycieczka

Musiałem latać gdzie się da kawy robić składać zamówienia przyjmować zamówienia i zaplaty

Ale pogadałem sobie dziś z nową po żartowaliśmy sobie Fajnie mi się z nią rozmawiało i mimo że jest wolniejsza ode mnie, co jest zrozumiałe mam większe doświadczenie jednak, ale super się z nią współpracuje

Była też taka inna Mówi cicho i tak chamsko nie Idzie się z nią dogadać Łaskawie coś pomoże

Bylem też jako lider Bo miała taka jedna iść na 15 no ale na minutę poszedlem bo się okazało że ona nie ma 15 min przerwy

The Otaniemi district in Espoo, Finland is the home of the main campus of the Aalto University (formerly independent Helsinki University of Technology) as well as several student dormitories.

While niemi means just a cape (as in "landmass extending into a body water", in this case the Baltic Sea), scholars are less certain what ota means, as usual the story is a mess and includes hundreds if not thousands of years and several languages. However, in typical Finnish custom, today the area contains several roads, streets and other features named with the "ota"-prefix, like Otakaari, the looping main street of the district.

Some jokers call the district "Onaniemi", implying that the stereotypically male and geeky students of, say, computer science might have trouble finding sexual partners and would instead end up masturbating more than the general populace. An unsourced but plausible claim is that for decades, of all the small kiosks in the nation-wide R-Kioski chain, the one in Otaniemi was the top-seller of porn mags, but also the first place to suddenly lose those sales when the internet became fast enough to transfer photos and the campus network was expanded to the dorm rooms.

I’ve seen a few people mention Helsinki in relation to Van Helsing in the Dracula Daily tag, so let’s talk about the name Helsinki!

Helsinki is actually just the Finnish language version of the city's Swedish name Helsingfors (Finland was conquered and ruled by Sweden for several hundred years, but during the events of Dracula was known as the Grand Duchy of Finland, an autonomous part of Russia). That name in turn is a short version of Helsinge fors, Helsinge Rapids. Before that the area was known as Helsingå, Helsinge River. The local village from the 1300s was known as Helsinge.

In 1548, a town was formed. It became known as Helsinge fors which evolved into Helsingfors. For short, it was called Helsinge or Helsing. 

Helsinki is the Finnish form of Helsing (we really like to add an extra i to foreign words: kioski, boksi, tiketti etc., even when talking of people: Trumppi).

Helsing is an archaic form of the word hals (neck), referring to the narrowest part of a river, the rapids.

It is not known where the name Helsinge comes from, but it likely refers to something local, i.e. the river and the rapids. It was long believed that Helsinki was named after the Swedish province of Hälsingland, but this is likely not the case. The colonisers, based on the dialect they spoke, likely came from Uppsala, not Hälsingland. Therefore the name Helsinge is unlikely to be connected to Hälsingland.
