The Mandalorian writing is SO bad this season…I’m sorry if that’s harsh but what’s going on??? It feels like I’m reading those 2012 Avengers tower fan fictions, if you know what I mean. And the dialogue! So mechanic and unnatural.

Not harsh at all, you're completely right and you should say it. It feels awful, it's somehow 90% exposition and fluff, with characters just saying words for the audience's benefit. Because god forbid we put any effort into thinking about what these characters might actually say in the situations that they're in. It feels totally flat, and any characterization that has been built up in season 1 and (kinda) season 2 just seems to have gone out the window. Now the mandoverse characters are all just mouthpieces for expository dialogue, and maybe a Star Wars Saying here and there to keep your attention. And the other 10% of the writing, which might actually hold some substance with a little effort, still feels like trite, one-size-fits-all dialogue that does nothing to deepen the characters or present any kind of stakes. The heroes say Hero Things because they're heroes, the villains say Villain Things because they're villains. I mean it leaves me wanting to bang my head against the wall because I could literally watch any marvel show or whatever and get the same shit. But that's just the thing, isn't it?

I've been noticing the marvelfication of star wars over the past few years and i resent it SO fucking deeply but I think Andor restored a glimmer of hope for me that star wars might start bringing some fresh and competent creators to the table. I'm still holding onto that hope because ultimately I adore this universe and its characters, and I just want to see them written with care and truth to who they are. I've given up on that happening with the mandoverse characters going forward. I'm starting to accept that i'm just going to have to grit my teeth and let this part of the story be told at me by jon favreau through some very expensive actors' mouths. But maybe, hopefully, going forward, we will see a few more creative and character-driven approaches to star wars. Tony Gilroy please save us

"Where is she?" The boom of Bucky's raised voice could be heard from the room over. A voice trying to reason from beyond but Bucky isn't seeming to have it. Instead his eyes dart over every single name on the charts outside the doors.

The hospital is vigorous, nurses and doctors shoving their way through the hall. The sounds of machines bind with the sounds of cries and yelling but Bucky is deaf to it all.

He shoved through groups of people as Sam follows behind, calling Bucky's name. Sam apologies to every person Bucky walks into or checks but they call scoffs and mention him off.

The moment Bucky sees her name he opens the door. He expects the worst, maybe even to walk in mid surgery but instead a doctor is prompt up next to her. The seated position mirrors them both as the man presses a cotton ball against the redness of her cheek.

The white ball fills with blood immediately and Bucky can't help but close the distance. A large hand presses against the other cheek and bring her gaze to worried eyes.

"Are you okay?" With how soft Bucky speaks no one would ever guess he was yelling at people to get out of the way a few seconds ago.

He gently cups the other side of her cheek, avoiding the doctors gaze as he shifts the weight of her head from hand to hand to look for any injuries. His breath hitches instantly, fingers pressing against the nasty gash on the left side of her cheek as the false appendages fill with blood.

It's ugly, red and raw. The scar itself is jagged and mishaped and if it had been two inches lower no doubt would have drained the jugular.

"Baby.." Bucky press a hiss to her forehead as a hand slips behind her neck to hold it. "Who did it?"

"I didn't see, he came out of no where."

Bucky nods softly, "You're going to need stitches."

The doctor huffs next to him, "We were just about to start before you came in."

Bucky ignores his presence completely, hand slipping into her own to squeeze it reinsuringly. "I'm right here baby."

One think I do like though is the support of the sequels. Brendol Hux was in there talking about cloning, and we saw the Praetorian Guards. I got so excited.

There definitely is something satisfying about finally seeing timelines link together. And having some insight about why Armitage Hux is Like That

It’s so HORRIBLE. It’s giving Anakin’s “well, from my point of view the Jedi are evil!” show don’t tell, dicks for brains.

LMAOOO look the writing in the prequels was not top notch by any stretch, but to george lucas’s credit at least the characters had a sense of individuality, and the narrative structure managed to somewhat contort into, like, a vaguely arc-shaped wet noodle of a good tragedy.

Idk how to even describe the writing or the character/narrative threads in mando rn. they’re just .
