bttf fantasy au that plays on classic tropes. princesses in towers and dragons and magic. yeah. under the cut because it's so long

lorraine is a princess trapped in a tower by biff and his goons, a dragon and his servants/kobolds

george is a knight who is very bad at his job and gets knocked out by biff almost immediately, so lorraine brings him into the tower and patches him up

they live unhappily ever after in the tower, still under biff's "protection" even as they have kids

but that's in the twin pines timeline. how does lone pine happen? well

marty, a prince who is utterly disgusted at the idea of being a prince and would much rather be a musician, befriends the kooky local wizard who is always tinkering with spells and strange machines

jennifer is from a working class family, so in twin pines, they have to sneak around because lorraine doesn't approve— she's preoccupied with keeping their royal appearance

doc reveals a time spell that's tied to a mechanical horse named delorean (it's so goofy, i know, that's the point) which is fueled by doc's magic.

when pouring his magic into the horse, doc overexerts himself bc he wants so badly so see it succeed. he starts dying from using too much magic

so marty jumps on the horse and rides away to get help, but gets sent back in time as the spell activates

he accidentally ends up with george at his mother's tower, and on instinct, shoves george out of biff's way, so he gets injured instead and george flees the battle

lorraine falls in love with marty instead, you know how this goes.

marty has to convince his dad to ask her out to the ball, even though she'd much rather go with "that handsome sir calvin"

doc can't simply refuel the horse because 85!doc is thirty years ahead in terms of magical experience. 55!doc can barely power a kid's toy

what ensues is pretty much the bttf plot we all know and love. george gains confidence and drives biff away from lorraine's tower. they go to the ball together and this time, truly live happily ever after

Home dinner dates. You take her to a clothing store and dress her up.  do they have a type?: Beautiful, deadly women. Usually older women. average relationship length: Millie has never had a serious relationship! preferred non-sexual intimacy: Cuddling, wrassling. commitment level: Fluctuates — having no real framework for a relationship, she's very hot and cold. Some days it's hiding from your text messages, other days it's swearing undying fealty to you. opinion of public affection: Likes it better in theory than in practice. Because intense feelings affect her environment with sometimes disastrous consequences, her displays of/boundaries around public affection can come across as restrained. Hand-holding, arms around waists, and little kisses or pecks are okay, but if she gets too worked up, things can go sideways. past relationships?: None yet.

I'd read the former as a knight who's girlcoded and the latter as a girl who's knightcoded, like how a catgirl is a girl with cat features but a girlcat is a cat who's a gal

there's a distinction between "girl knight" and "knightgirl" but I struggle to articulate it

I think it's that the latter carries a stronger implication of Knight As Creature as opposed to Knight As Job
