¿Qué es el cuento?

"Alguna vez lo he comparado con una esfera; es algo que tiene un ciclo perfecto e implacable; algo que empieza y termina satisfactoriamente como la esfera en que ninguna molécula puede estar fuera de sus límites precisos" son las palabras de Cortázar sobre el concepto de un cuento.

Y es que, el cuento es una pieza única e impactante que logra transmitir sensaciones, sentimientos y pensamientos en una extensión menor de otro tipo de trabajos, como las novelas. Es precisamente esto, junto con un tema y el manejo de este, lo que permite que sea "incisivo" y "mordiente".

Una perspectiva ligada a esto mismo, mencionada por el autor, y que ha llamado mucho mi atención es la comparación del cuento con un deporte como lo es el box. Me pareció una forma tan hábil y acertada, decir que, si se habla de la novela y del cuento en una partida de box, la novela gana por puntos, mientras que el cuento debe ganar por knockout. Deja muy en claro que, si bien el trabajo de una novela es acumular esas sensaciones y emociones en el lector conforme avanza en su lectura, el del cuento es golpear con cada frase, cada palabra, desde un inicio, prácticamente sin darle un ápice de misericordia ni un respiro a quien lo lee.

Por ello es importante el acercamiento que se tiene respecto al tema escogido para la redacción de un cuento, sobre todo por dos aspectos. El primero, es que un cuento debe de trabajarse con una cierta intensidad desde la primer palabra hasta la última, tanto para establecer un tono que se consolide en su corta extensión, como para que el lector sea absorbido por la narrativa tratada. El segundo, es que, mientras que es importante planear la estructura, el marco de una historia, un elemento que ayuda bastante es dejar la corriente fluir. En ocasiones el autor piensa en el tema y cómo tratarlo, pero hay algo mágico en dejar que el cuento tome las riendas y muestre al autor lo que quiere ser, en lo que quiere convertirse.

Con esto, no quiero decir que lo que sea que se escriba en una sentada siempre sea un cuento, ni que las pautas sean absolutamente inútiles. Las estructuras o pautas que algunos establecen para la redacción de un cuento sirven mientras sean utilizadas como eso: pautas. Usarlas como guías en momentos donde no sepamos por dónde empezar, pero no como obligaciones que limiten nuestra escritura e imaginación. La única fórmula que seguiría es la que dicte mi intuición en el momento que un tema no escape mi mente y demande ser plasmado.

Por ejemplo, para mi cuento Invertido, ya había formado este concepto basado en otra versión de nosotros mismos que vive del otro lado de un espejo, básicamente nuestro reflejo. Hay varios conceptos hoy en día que manejan este tema: el alter ego, nuestro higher-self, que es una versión nuestra con un nivel de conciencia más elevado, entre otros muchos. Sin embargo, nunca había podido dejar de pensar en el lado que todos evitamos la mayoría del tiempo, que es aquella que explotaría en una conversación, la que prendería todo el mundo en fuego si fuera necesario. El villano de la historia, vaya.

Este tema sobre todo pasaría mil veces por mi mente cada noche que veía mi reflejo en el espejo de mi cuarto, con un profundo e irrazonable miedo de encontrar algo distinto de lo que debería estar. Un día, me crucé con una canción que tenía este tono agresivo y un poco violento que me hizo preguntarme: ¿imaginas que existiera la posibilidad de que ese reflejo que es tu versión "mala" pudiera cruzar el espejo y tomar tu lugar en tu realidad, mientras que te deja atrapada en la suya? Pues bien, una noche soñé que precisamente eso sucedía. Tan pronto como desperté la mañana siguiente me dije que tenía que escribir mi cuento de eso mismo. Y así fue.

El cuento es un arma poderosa que puede o no ser compleja de usar. Hay quienes siguen su intuición y toman riesgos al usarla, desbloqueando su total potencial, y hay quienes leen el instructivo mil veces y es únicamente con la experiencia de usarla que van dándose cuenta de su poder para llegar a ese mismo potencial. De ambas maneras, es imposible negar lo que se tiene en manos. Así que, ¿por qué no tomar esos riesgos?

As King Corbin aptly said on Friday Night Smackdown, NXT is all anyone can talk about! It’s true, it’s damn true to quote the man that Corbin retired, Kurt Angle.

Who’s going to attack who. Who’s going to show up where. Who’s going to face each other at Survivor Series. There are plenty of storylines to answer those questions. And the interest is growing! Just look at NXT’s ratings for Wednesday night as they pulled almost even (822,000 to 813,000 according to Nielsen) in viewers for the Wednesday Night War with AEW. My question is will it only be NXT taking shots at RAW and Smackdown or will over the next two weeks, will we also get RAW taking shots at Smackdown as well in traditional blue vs. red rivalry.

Welcome to Survivor Series Finn Balor – After a week of wondering where Finn Balor stands on the whole NXT vs. RAW vs. Smackdown rivalry, we now have a slight glimpse into that picture. Balor seemingly came out to help his NXT mates in the main event only to deliver a knockout pele kick to Ciampa, a kick that AJ Styles acknowledges with a “two-sweet” gesture, a nod to their Bullet Club days in Japan. And yes, I love that Mauro Ranollo referenced that on the broadcast, something not usually done since it was pre-WWE days. Could Balor be strattling both sides of the battle?

War Games Build – A heavy concentration on who Shayna Baszler & Rhea Ripley would pick for their team in War Games, including a match between Baszler herself and Dakota Kai – a quality non-title match that made Kai look good and established her into the War Game mix. That match leads to a full out brawl with Ripley’s team and a Mia Yim’s kendo stick save of Team Ripley. With Yim getting the final spot instead of Kai, could we see a turn in Kai’s future after being shunned? Also, how come Baszler doesn’t have her sidekicks, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir on her team? Right now, we’ve got Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae vs. NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair and TBD.

Angel Garza – A win over Tony Nese nets him an NXT Cruiserweight Championship match next week against Lio Rush. Way to get some heel heat too after the match by slapping Rush instead of shaking his hand. It gives us more than just a match thrown together. Emotion and storyline added to athleticism is always a productive method!

What we didn’t love:

Santana Garrett vs. Taynara – A bit clunky at times, I expected a bit more considering what else we’ve gotten from what is red-hot, stacked women’s division in NXT week after week. Call it an average, albeit short – just four minutes – match and possibly just an off-night.

No update on Johnny Gargano – He is the emotional soul of NXT. Don’t let a week go by without updating his situation after being put out by Finn Balor. Maybe, we’ll just see him as the fourth member of War Games and they’re just waiting for that surprise in a week or two.

It’s a New Day, New Champs – Kofi Kingston is a champ again as Kofi and Big E reign supreme as Smackdown champions once more. Of course, this will only fuel the IWC rumors that The Revival are headed out in 2020 to AEW or elsewhere.

King Corbin’s heat – Easily the top heel heat on Smackdown. Corbin draws it and the crowd loves to dish it. Having Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode help him out could point towards a Survivor Series team grouping in a few weeks.

Walter and The Imperium – As you know, we’re big fans of WALTER from NXT UK and NXT. It makes sense to unleash them at a Smackdown in Manchester, England to further the NXT vs. Smackdown vs. RAW feud. Getting them some TV time with new tag team champs, The New Day and Heavy Machinery makes a lot of sense for the NXT UK Champion WALTER, Fabian Archer, Marcel Barthel and Alexander Wolfe

Will he stay or will he join – Sami Zayn’s continued pursuit of Daniel Bryan has some legs and some intrigue to it, especially with all of the chaos and uncertainty headed towards Survivor Series. Plus, add in The Fiend attacking Bryan backstage and we could find out our next feud for the new Universal Champion. A Global Faction of Cesar, Nakamura and Bryan led by Zayn mixing with the Firefly Fun House could very well be worth watching.

Different week, same result – NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler attacks Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley. After a confrontation on RAW with Becky Lynch, Baszler is becoming must-see TV on every show to see who she’s going to take out next.

What we didn’t love:

Fire and Desire Fail – Since when did Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville become jobbers? It seems like they lose every week in some form or fashion. Yes, I realize that’s an exaggeration, but I think they are better than what they are being portrayed. Maybe Sonya Deville would work well as a member of Shayna Baszler’s War Games team? Hmmm…..

Fury and Strowman – So, now we’re supposed to just accept them as a team? We know that Tyson Fury isn’t going to be around much due to his boxing commitments. But after hating each other for a month-plus, they just team up to beat up The B Team of Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. We’ll chalk it up to a taping in Manchester, England for a fan pop and see where it goes from here.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Since RAW was taped Friday in Manchester, England after the Smackdown taping, we know there are some things set to unveil Monday night on Veteran’s Day. All we can say, as to not spoil things, is that it could be a K-O of a night.

Xavier Martinez upsets Oscar Bravo with a TKO victory in co-main event! Watch the Sin City Showdown on Mayweather Promotions’ Facebook LAS VEGAS (September 22, 2018) – Las Vegas native, Cameron “Suave” Krael, racks up another victory after a 10-round Super Lightweight showdown against Mexico’s talented rising prospect, Jose Borrego, live from Sam’s Town in Las Vegas. In the co-main event, Xavier Martinez scored a sixth round TKO victory over Oscar Bravo to remain undefeated. After 10 rounds of non-stop action, Cameron Krael (14-13-3, 3KOs) came out on top over Jose Borrego (14-2, 12 KOs) to earn the victory. Krael’s speed and piercing power allowed him to land strong shots and counter punches to his opponent. The bout was a war from the start of the first round, as the fighters took little time to feel each other out in the first round before getting to business, and there was no turning back. Krael and Borrego battled into the second round and continued the momentum in the rounds that followed. Both fighters threw consistent combinations and by the middle to late rounds they kept the fans on their feet. Krael’s striking punches, and combinations of body shots and jabs, began to take a toll on his opponent. In the meantime comes “Russian Roulette,” a new book by two veterans of Washington political journalism, Michael Isikoff and David Corn, whose subtitle promises to reveal “the inside story of Putin’s war on America and the election of Donald Trump.”

Alas, it does not — at least so far as offering foolproof evidence of Putin’s involvement, or his motives. “For all the public controversy,” they write two pages before the end of their book, “there was still much about Putin’s cyberattacks that was cloaked in mystery, especially what had happened in Russia.”

“Russian Roulette” is, thus, not an investigative breakthrough as much as a new contribution to that well-worn genre: the granular, source-on-the-wall election diary. On that score, they have produced the most thorough and riveting account so far — riveting, that is, as long as you don’t mind falling into paroxysms of political outrage and dismay.

Although the authors make their view clear from the start, referring to Russian help as the perceived “original sin” of Trump’s presidency, it is to their credit that they present both campaigns in an unfavorable light. The book will surely infuriate readers on either side of what should be the most urgent question facing the nation today: the vulnerability of our democratic institutions to Russian manipulation.

For aggrieved Clinton supporters, reading “Russian Roulette” will be like reliving a nightmare. Trump supporters, too, should wince at the cringe-worthy embarrassments that would have derailed any other candidate.

In one scene inside Trump Tower, the candidate’s aides debate how to respond to the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape in which the future president boasts about grabbing women by their genitals. According to the authors, Trump’s daughter Ivanka, her face reddening and eyes filling with tears, urged her father to make a full-throated apology. He did not. He simply dismissed what he said as “locker room banter” without denying anything he did.

It should have been a moment for Team Clinton to celebrate a knockout blow to Trump’s insurgency — except that the video landed on an inauspicious day for them.

Barely an hour earlier, the director of national intelligence and secretary of homeland security issued a statement saying that the intelligence community was “confident that the Russian government directed” the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s email system. The subsequent leak of thousands of emails was a tactic “consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts.”

This was the Watergate burglary of the internet age, yet the revelation was all but drowned out by the release of the tape. “The Clinton staffers hit the phones, calling reporters they had worked with, urging them to give more attention to the Russia story. They weren’t having much luck.”

And still to come was the third October surprise of the day. WikiLeaks announced that it would begin dribbling out thousands of emails to and from John Podesta, the Clinton campaign chairman, that proved hugely embarrassing to the candidate.

That day — Oct. 7 — may prove to be a turning point in American history. It was, by some unearthly coincidence, also Vladimir Putin’s 64th birthday.

“Russian Roulette” is best when describing how the country’s intelligence agencies were slow to recognize Russia’s effort and the frustration among Clinton’s supporters of the failure of the administration, the F.B.I. and the media to trumpet it for what it was. (Some reporters did, in fact, including Corn and Isikoff, but much more became clear only after Trump’s victory.)

It was President Obama, however, who set the administration’s tone: He did not want to be seen as trying to tip the scales of the election by suggesting a foreign leader was intervening in support of one side. “We were wearing self-imposed handcuffs,” one agonized aide tells the authors.

A disclosure is required here: The book describes an article that a colleague, Eric Lichtblau, and I wrote for The New York Times. In it we reported on the F.B.I.’s inability to substantiate what appeared to be ties between the Trump Organization and a private Russian bank, Alfa, even as its agents were following an array of other leads. Some of them were detailed in the “dossier” of Christopher Steele, the former British agent hired to conduct opposition research.

While evidence of many accusations remains unclear, the authors argue that the article and headline wrongly focused on the absence of proof rather than the main point, which was that there was an investigation into “possible links between the Russian government and the Republican presidential candidate.”

There are, in the end, no heroes in “Russian Roulette.” The bureau’s director, James B. Comey, deserves significant scrutiny (and he has his own book coming). During the investigation into her private email server, Clinton and her staff were so suspicious of the bureau that when agents first came to the Brooklyn headquarters to inform them of the Russian hacking, the campaign manager, Robby Mook, refused to meet them, fearing they were there to ask about Clinton’s emails.

The suspicions boiled over when Comey made an 11th-hour statement that the bureau was reviewing “new” emails found in a separate investigation, into Anthony Weiner, the disgraced husband of Clinton’s close aide Huma Abedin. By doing so, Comey hurled a thunderbolt into the election only days before the vote — something aides quoted anonymously claim he wanted to avoid.

Historians may long debate who had a bigger influence on the outcome: the F.B.I. director or the Russian leader.

For anyone who believes in the better angels of American politics, “Russian Roulette” is a depressing book. The Russian hacking, it is now clear, simply exploited the vulgarity already plaguing American political campaigns, which churn on spin and strategy (and money) far more than vision or values.

The book does have its flaws. The simplistic vilification of Russia — without evidence or better context — reinforces the view of some thoughtful Russians that Americans have become irrationally hostile toward the country and even the culture. The sourcing is also sloppy in places. The authors are respected journalists, and one can trust their use of anonymous sources or not, but in the span of four pages describing the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow in 2013, for example, they quote four different ones. There is “a Miss Universe associate” (whatever that means), “a Miss Universe official,” “a Miss Universe staffer” and “another Miss Universe staffer.”

The “Miss Universe official” states that only Putin could have approved holding the pageant in Moscow, which is absurd. Putin controls much in Russia, but only in the fevered imagination of a pageant official does he dictate the location of beauty contests. The “another Miss Universe staffer” suggests Trump winnowed the finalists in his pageants by rejecting dark-skinned contestants and those who “snubbed his advances.” That is an explosive accusation to attribute to a single source among a muddle of them.

Still another anonymous source reveals one of the book’s most significant revelations. A Russian insider had been providing the American Embassy in Moscow with unconfirmed but what turned out to be prescient information about Putin’s inner circle around the same time Trump was presiding over the pageant. Among the disclosures was the racially tinged disdain senior Russians felt for Barack Obama, all dutifully reported back to Washington in top-secret cables.

This source — described not as an intelligence asset but as a sympathetic political insider, who as a young man had been “heartened by Ronald Reagan’s anti-Soviet rhetoric” — told his interlocutor as early as 2014 that the Kremlin was planning to undermine democracy in the West. It was, the authors suggest, one of many missed signals of what was coming.

“Anybody who had any doubt about Putin’s intentions,” the source’s American interlocutor is quoted as saying, “just wasn’t reading what we reported.”

Hace cinco domingos que no veía a ES. Hoy lo tuve que ver para entregarle el trabajo de traducción que me encargó. Yo no sé por qué ES me sigue buscando para hacerle chambas pero no lo puede rechazar esta vez porque ocupaba el dinero. Se acercan las navidades.

Nos vivimos donde siempre para desayunar. Yo andaba medio dormida aún. Anoche fue la pelea de Billy vs. David. Al pobre David lo devolvieron a la escuelita de boxeo. Ese Billy es un tremendo. Le taparía con duct tape la boca para lamerle noche y día esa mancha en la mejilla derecha. Ahora vamos a ver si se le hace con Canelo. Espero que ya para el 22 David este recuperado y los cumpla feliz.

Por cierto que me rechazaron la reseña que escribí para la pelea. Me dijeron que no podian publicar un texto donde se insulta o se denigra por rasgos físicos. Me dijeron que lo re escribiera y yo le dije que no tenía tiempo. Lo que no tenía eran ganas. Entiendo el porqué no la aceptaron lo que pasa es que ellos no leen entre lineas. Lo que pasó es que RE me llamó en el onceavo asalto. Yo ya para esos momentos estaba bien despierta. Me perdí casi que la mayoría pelea de Spike, no lo vi ganar por estar adormilada. Pero para el onceavo asalto de papi pava y de “I need to be on top of you at some point in my life” ya estaba más que espabilada. RE me llama porque sabe que lo que a mi me gusta es eso. Que me llamen. Si no contesto ya eso es otra cosa.

- ¿Vamos conmigo a algo ahí? ¿Muy dormida? ¿ Le meto algo?

Yo le dije que ya no estaba tan dormida , pero que sí, que claro, que me metiera algo. En 30 estuvo por mi en el carro de uno de sus amigos piratas. Me monto atrás. RE me pasa una bolsita ziploc con alguito de cada cosa. Me voy a llevar lo que hay de perico le digo.

Caimos en el barrio del sur. En el gimnasio de un narcotraficante. Yo ya me habia metido duro. Y el florescente me molestaba. Ahí habían ocho dándose por turnos hasta que uno cayera de primero. A la primera iba jalando. Hoy eran ocho, el próximo martes cuatro, el viernes dos. El domingo se comenzaba todo de nuevo. RE me lo explicó de camino pero me impactó verlo. Era en esencia box pero sin referee, sin descansos, sin guantes y sin cuenta. A pesar de que se escucha despiche, no se permiten golpes de conejo.

LLegué a la casa a las cuatro de la mañana después de casi coger con Kaiser, el que se llevó la ronda. Me le escapé a él, me le escape a RE. Me volvi en Uber.

Billy Joe Saunders vs David Lemieux.

El bueno peleó y perdió con Golovkin por knockout técnico hace dos años. Steve Willis paró la pelea en el octavo asalto interponiendo su humanidad entre un bueno acorralado y un aluvión de golpes. Willis es de los referees más expresivos que tiene el boxeo profesional y en esa pelea se dio gusto de hacer todas las muecas de dolor que pudo. Pudo constantemente.

El patán todavía no ha tenido un frente a frente con Gennady. Lo más cerca que ha estado de G. fue en la conferencia de prensa que se llevó a cabo en Londres en setiembre de este año como parte del tour Canelo vs Golovkin. Ese día, Gennady dejó esa actitud plácida que le queda tan bien, y con apenas modales, interrumpió a su promotor para refutar las afirmaciones que el patán decía. En su inglés aun en progreso Gennady le contestó “ I know…. Billy.. .you…. like talk too much.”

Lemieux es el bueno y Billy es el patán.

Hice mi mejor esfuerzo para informarme sobre estos dos pesos medianos antes de que llegara el día de la pelea. El día de la pelea ha llegado y puedo decir que mi interés se volvió desigual. Me sucedió que conforme iba fisgoneando sus carreras me iba desviando más hacia Billy. Creo que la mancha que tiene en su mejilla derecha tuvo mucho que ver con que se me descarriara la atención. Tuvo que ver también ese vaho gitano que dice tener y ese ancestro legendario que vivió en una época donde se cerraban a golpes a puño limpio.

Saunders en un principio pensé que iba a hacer el camino alternativo pero terminó convirtiéndose en la ruta principal. Basada en mis concepciones de qué es ser un patán, puedo afirmar que Billy puede jactarse de ser uno y uno bien grande. Billy es un un auténtico patán y es precisamente esa parte de “auténtico” que llama mi atención. A él le salen la patanadas de lo más bien. A Lemieux no. Cuando Lemieux intenta ponerse el patín patán no le queda. No le sale natural.

Aclaro que no es que Lemieux (38-3-0) no me haya llamado la atención por lo puncher que es y por lo sabroso que está. Definitivamente sus 38 victorias, 33 de ellas vía knockout llaman la atención. Lo que pasa es que David es un canadiense que no hace tanto ruido. Él es un Golden Boy bien portado y a veces a uno lo que le gusta es irse donde esta el bullerío.

Ahora, no es que Billy sea un locazo tortero. Para salir de Pekín con una medalla de plata y para mantener un invicto de 25 peleas profesionales hay que ser un atleta disciplinado. Lo interesante es que, según afirma Billy, él llegó a un punto en que peleaba sin pasión. En el 2014 le arrebató el cinturón a Chris Eubank Jr. y en el 2015 ganó el título mundial de la OMB ante Andy Lee. Aparentemente se llevó esas 24 vueltas sin corazón. Ya para el 2016, sin un órgano menos en el imaginario, Billy tuvo un desempeño mediocre ante Artur Akavov.

En una entrevista posterior a esta pelea el patán habló acerca de sus faltas con la misma sinceridad con la que hace bullying. Fue ahí que me di cuenta que si bien era un patán no era ningún idiota inmaduro. Billy llamó a su enfrentamiento con Akavov una llamada de atención. Había que despertarse. Se dijo a sí mismo que si iba a seguir pelando así jamás estaría al nivel de Canelo, de Golovkin. Billy llamó las cosas por su nombre y se despabiló.

Si Billy gana esta noche ante Lemieux, lo colocaría a un paso más cerca de su verdadero objetivo. Canelo. Billy no niega a Golovkin. Pero cuando habla sobre verselas contra Canelo a Billy le late la voz. A mi me encantaría ver las conferencias de prensa previas con ese par. Los dos son unos sangrones.

Para Saunders vs Lemieux las previas ya pasaron. Queda esperar a que sean las diez de la noche para empezar a ver quién se la lleva.

Que me haya engolosinado con Billy Joe Saunders no quiere decir que le aposté a la línea. No tengo un favorito. Por mi que Davidcito se lo siembre entre el tercero y el quito. Eso sí, le recomiendo a David que llegue a al cuadrilátero con la pava bien recortada, no vaya a ser que el pelo se le meta de nuevo en los ojos.

Como evento co-estelar tenemos a otro par de medianos Antoine Douglas(22-1-1) ante Spike O’Sullivan (26-2-0). La derrotas de Spike fueron ante el mismísimo Billy y luego contra Eubank Jr. Spike sigue buscando hacerse de un nombre. Hace un rato empezó a lucir un bigotillo tipo Daniel Day-Lewis en pandillas de Nueva York. Ese estilillo junto con el hecho de que es Irlandés es carnada para nosotros la fanaticada rosa. Si Spike se lleva la victoria, no me extrañaría que Eddie Hearn le llegara a tocar el hombro para ver qué con Jacobs. Por el momento Douglas es un desconocido para mi pero se ve grandote.

Vamos a ver si esta cita doble de pesos medianos se convertirá en una para recordar.

After only winning 2 games from their group and losing 4 IMay finished in joint last place of group B along with Flash Wolves.

Flash Wolves

Joining IMay with the same results of 2 wins and 4 losses Flash Wolves are the second team from group B to be waving goodbye to World.

Ahq

A promising contender for their region ahq missed the 2nd place by 1 win and were forced to settle for 3rd finishing on 3 wins and 3 losses.

INTZ

The Brazilian wildcard had trouble holding up against other international teams at Worlds and ended up finishing in last place with 1 win and 5 losses.

Team SoloMid

One of the NA favourites for the home crowd Team SoloMid narrowly missed out on the number 2 slot and ended up being eliminated after 3 wins and 3 losses.

Splyce

For Splyce it has been a disaster ever since their first match and their last match was the final nail in the coffin. Finishing last in their group with only 1 win and 5 losses it’s no surprise Splyce have been eliminated.

Upcoming Quarterfinals

Now the group stages are over we can get on to the important matches, the quarterfinals! The schedule and teams have already been selected for the upcoming matches and will happen over the course of 4 days.

The next quarter final is on the 13th October when Samsung Galaxy take on Cloud 9.

Quarter Final (13th October) SSG vs C9

The number 1 from group D will be battling against the NA number 2 from group B on 13th October. Both teams have shown great determination and strength during the games with SSG leading on 5 wins and 1 loss versus C9’s 3 wins and 3 losses.

Quarter Final (14th October) SKT vs RNG

Following on the day after all eyes will be on last year’s winners SKT as they take on the Chinese hopefuls RNG. SKT currently holds a record of 5 wins and 1 loss versus RNGs record of 3 wins and 3 losses.

Quarter Final (15th October) ROX vs EDG

South Korean hopefuls ROX Tigers will be facing off against China’s Edward Gaming to see who can make it into the semi-finals. ROX Tigers currently lead on 5 wins and 2 losses compared to Edward Gamings 4 wins and 3 losses.

Quarter Final (16th October) H2K vs ANX

The last EU team in Worlds will be battling Russia’s Albus NoX Luna on the last day of the quarterfinals. H2K currently lead with 5 wins and 2 losses compared to ANX’s 4 wins and 3 losses.
