Coming from a modest background, Reddy's early life was marked by struggles and hard work. He completed his education in Hyderabad and earned a degree in commerce. His early experiences instilled in him a strong work ethic and a desire to uplift the underprivileged.
Revanth Reddy's foray into politics began when he joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu. via Today Bharat nbsp; The first-time candidate from the TRS defeated the Congress strongman by 9,319 votes. In a surprising turn of events, Patnam Narender Reddy of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) secured a victory in the Kodangal constituency in Telangana, defeating incumbent MLA and political heavyweight Revanth Reddy, the working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). While Revanth received 71,435 votes, Narender got 80,754 votes, ensuring the formerrsquo;s first major defeat in his political career. Revanth, who has been in politics since 2004, was first elected as MLA on a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ticket in 2009, defeating five-time Kodangal MLA Gurunath Reddy of the TRS by a margin of nearly 7,000 votes. He was then re-elected in 2014, again on a TDP ticket, winning by a margin of over 14,000 votes. Revanth defected to the Congress in October 2017 and along with him, he took a large chunk of his supporters. After losing twice to Revanth, it appears that Gurunath Reddy decided not to contest this time, but put his weight behind Narender Reddy. Narender, an MLC, is the brother of incumbent Transport Minister Patnam Mahender Reddy, and was pitted against Revanth to dethrone him. KCRrsquo;s nephew and Irrigation Minister Harish Rao had been deployed to ensure Narenderrsquo;s victory. Ahead of a TRS campaign rally before the polling day, Revanth had been taken into preventive custody from his residence ahead of caretaker CM and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Raorsquo;s election rally at Kosgi in Kodangal. The police had stated that it was a preventive arrest on the orders of the Election Commission because Revanth had appealed to the people in his constituency to boycott the meeting by the TRS chief and hold protests in the area. Cash-for-vote scam Revanth, however, is still an accused in an earlier cash-for-vote scam. He was caught red-handed on video by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on May 31, 2015 while he was offering Rs 50 lakh to independent MLA Stephenson to get him to vote for the TDP-BJP candidate in the elections to the Telangana Legislative Council. nbsp;

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Dec 4 (ANI): Hours after Telangana Congress working president Revanth Reddy, was taken into preventive custody for allegedly threatening to disrupt caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's election rally, Congress leader G N Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Rao is misusing the police. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief is scheduled to conduct a rally in Kodangal. Revanth is Congress' candidate from the constituency. G N Reddy further added that Revanth is a Brahmos missile who will finish the TRS. "KCR is misusing the police, in the manner which police entered his bedroom, it has never happened in India. Revanth Reddy (Congress candidate detained by police) is not an ordinary man, he is a Brahmos missile and this missile is going to finish TRS," G N Reddy told ANI. Echoing similar sentiments, another Congress leader DK Shivakumar alleged intimidation by the state police and appealed to the Election Commission (EC) to take action. "It's highly condemnable that Telangana Police arrested Congress Working President and Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy at 3am today because CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao is holding a rally there. We appeal to EC that such intimidation goes against the spirit of free and fair elections," Shivakumar tweeted. Calling Revanth's arrest a "stain on democracy", the Congress party took to Twitter and said that it was a clear sign that the ruling TRS fears an imminent loss in the elections which are due on December 7. Telangana Assembly elections are slated to be held on December 7, while counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)

via Today Bharat TPCC Working President Revanth Reddy was arrested early Tuesday morning hours before a scheduled meeting by caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the area. Telangana Congress leader and Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy filed a lunch motion in the Hyderabad High Court after he was detained by the Telangana police in the early hours of Tuesday, hours before a scheduled meeting by caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the area. The lunch motion will be heard by the High Court at 2.15 pm and Advocate CV Mohan Reddy will be appearing on behalf of Revanth. Following the leader's arrest, supporters in areas like Navapet, Pedda Nandigama staged rasta rokos, raised slogans and demanded that Revanth be released immediately. Early Tuesday morning, policemen entered Revanthrsquo;s house in Kodangal and broke open his bedroom door. The MLA's aides can be seen arguing with the officials, demanding that they be shown ID cards of the authorities and also a copy of the arrest warrant. The police said that it was a preventive arrest on the orders of the Election Commission (EC) as Revanth had appealed to the people in his constituency to boycott the meeting by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and hold protests in the area. Section 144 was imposed in the constituency following Revanth's arrest. Geetha, Revanth's wife, questioned how the rally could be held if the prohibitive order was imposed and appealed to Revanth's supporters to maintain peace. Kodangal Assembly constituency falls in two districts ndash; Mahabubnagar and Vikarabad. Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Vikarabad Superintendent of Police T Annapurna said that the leader was arrested under Section 151 of the CrPC (Arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences). "We will keep him under preventive custody for few hours. He is safe and we have done this in order to execute the elections peacefully and lawfully to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is not disturbed, as the situation may lead to provocation between parties," she said. However, it is unclear if KCR's meeting will take place as per schedule or not. Meanwhile, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) shot off a letter to the Election Commission and stated that a bandh had not been called for and that the EC was liable for the costs the Congress incurred. ldquo;You are informed that Revanth Reddy never called for a bandh at Kosgi. There is no complaint with the DEO (District Election Officer) as could be known from the DEOrsquo;s office before you started to give instructions to the police of Telangana state,rdquo; it stated. ldquo;The caretaker CM also has to be treated as a former MLA but you seem to have treated him as a Chief Minister and gave instructions under the influence of state machinery to prevent Mr Revanth Reddy and kept them under preventive arrest,rdquo; it further added. ldquo;The program of Mr Revanth Reddy, working president and as a star campaigner has already been fixed in advance and a chopper has been booked for the said purpose. Because of your action, all monies and time and rent for the chopper etc. have become a useless exercise and for which you alone would be held liable. If you want to send Revanth Reddy out of Kodangal constituency, you may allow him to fly to other constituencies by chopper as a star campaigner, but fail to understand why you arrested him and at whose instance,rdquo; the letter said. Earlier this week, TRS General Secretary Sreenivas Reddy met Telangana CEO Rajat Kumar and accused Revanth Reddy of indulging in attempts to sabotage their party meeting. In their letter to Rajat Kumar, the TRS said that KCR was going to Kosgi in Kodangal constituency at around 3 pm on December 4 to address a public meeting in support of local TRS candidate Patnam Narender Reddy, the brother of Transport Minister Patnam Mahender Reddy. nbsp;
